Wildflower Park #1-4

A Walk in Wildflower Park

Rate this book
A Walk in Wildflower Park was originally published as a four-part serial. This is the complete story in one package.

Life’s not always a walk in the park…

When Anna is dumped by her fiancé, she moves in to her own place on the edge of the gorgeous Wildflower Park and pledges to stay off men and focus on her career, but a handsome new colleague seems to thwart her attempts at every turn. And when she receives an accidental text from a mystery man, could it be the new start she needs? Or someone she really shouldn't be falling for?

Anna’s neighbour Sophie is a stressed-out mum-of-two with a third on the way. Her husband is a constant frustration, and their children are a regular source of newly-invented swear words and unidentifiable sticky surfaces.

Luckily, Anna and Sophie have each other – and Wildflower Park proves to be a sanctuary as they map out a path to find the happiness they both deserve…

Fantastically funny, this irresistibly heart-warming novel will charm fans of Milly Johnson and Jill Mansell.

5☆ Feel Good Rom Com with plenty of juicy twists and turns!

I had the pleasure of reading all four wonderful parts to this book, then I read them altogether in the one book and I loved it!

Anna has recently split up with her Ex, just when she thought she could get over him, he takes a job working at her work place making things even more awkward.

But Anna has a new co worker and he is very Handsome and willing to help Anna with her Ex boyfriend.

Anna's best friend Sophie is also infatuated with the new co worker Hudson, but she's married, heavily pregnant and mum to some unruly children. On the surface her marriage looks solid, but cracks start to form and she can no longer take it.

There is so much I want to say about this gem of a book, but don't want to risk giving anything away.
There is a secret text admirer that is about to ruffle Anna's feathers, Mystery, a gorgeous cat, Plenty of Drama, Laugh Out l
Loud moments, exciting Twists and Turns.
It's a story of second chances, Family drama, relationships, friendships, decisions and secrets.

The Characters are endearing likeable, well developed and as the story progresses they become more relatable and I was rooting for them to find their happy ending.
There are plenty of juicy twists and turns and sub plots that weave together seamlessly, compelling me to keep reading.

I'm a big fan of Bella's books and Walk in Wildflower Park is another Gem of a book I didn't want to put down, so much so I read it twice!

I can't recommend reading this Gorgeous Book Enough!
It Truly is the perfect feel good Summer time read!

Thank you to Avon books for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Anna and Sophie are great friends and work colleagues. Anna is single having been in a relationship for two years and engaged to Liam before he decided he wanted out. Anna sets about making a new life and moves into a new place near Sophie and close to Wildflower Park. The two friends have very different lives. Sophie is married with two young children and another on the way. Her husband Dave who is is a clueless numpty is no help and two children Arlo and Petal are pint sized disasters waiting to happen. No surprise then that Sophie is more than a little fed up.
Anna decides to focus on her career and is less than impressed when Hunter, an American is brought into the company where she and Sophie work. Everything he does seems to rub her up the wrong way but Sophie has a raging crush on Hunter and his good looks. When Anna revives a couple of strange texts apparently not meant for her, a relationship that is not what she expects develops. And then there is the elderly Bert in a nursing home who Anna meets when she gives feline Maurice a home.
Anna is a great friend to Sophie whose behaviour with her obsession with Hunter is juvenile and teen like. And she came across as a bit of a whiner, but given her home life she perhaps has plenty of reason. I kept waiting for her to grow a backbone and not let people walk over her.
In the work office Karl is a sexist pig. He thinks his comments are amusing. Others don’t.
This is a light and amusing read. Various incidents meant to be amusing are sprinkled throughout the story but sometimes they are just over the top. It wasn’t perfect but it was decidedly enjoyable and it definitely kept me interested.
I particularly liked the caring Anna. This is a novel of friendship, family and romance. I loved the relationship between Anna and her parents. This has a couple of interesting moments that change events. All in all a fun read and just what I needed at the time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book from Bella Osborne.

I loved seeing motherhood from Sophie's eyes, with two young kids and pregnant with her third, and a husband who seems like a waste of space.

I enjoyed getting to know Anna, and seeing her get over being dumped by her fiancee, and end up in a position where there are many men who seem to think they are in with a chance with her.

The ex wants her back, there is the man who she strikes up a text friendship with after some wrong numbers, and then the American man who is gorgeous, seemingly off limits but does make things interesting for Anna.

I think even from those descriptions you can tell who I was rooting for. And there is also Bert, who Anna gets to know after adopting his cat Maurice from an animal shelter I love Bert and Maurice's story so much.

Anna clearly has got a deep rich past to her, and its interesting to see just what it is that has happened to shape her. Hudson also was an interesting issue to come to terms with too.

This was a pleasure to read and I loved Anna and Sophie's walks in Wildflower Park, which sounded like a lovely private park.

Just an all around lovely read, which does produce a few surprises along the way to keep readers on their toes.

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

*I voluntarily reviewed this book from the Publisher

Engaging, feisty, and full of drama, A WALK IN WILDFLOWER PART by Bella Osborne is an incredible story of friendship, heartbreak, and new love and I couldn't put it down from start to finish.

Yet again Anna has picked another useless guy, only this time she even got as far as getting engaged to him before he got cold feet and dumped her. With a new flat in an area that she has always adored, close to Wildflower Park and her best friend and her family, Anna is determined to make this fresh start her best move yet. Men are off her radar and she wants to prove herself at work. But when a new co-worker arrives, he ruffles her feathers and not in a good way, even if he seems to appeal to everybody else. An accidental text seems to lead to a possible new relationship but who is this mystery guy and is he right for Anna? And her best friend Sophie is struggling with her marriage and her young family and Anna is worried that she might do something reckless. Oh, and just to add a little more to Anna's plate, she has adopted a cat the size of a tiger, who comes with a sometimes grouchy ex-owner who may just prove to be something special. With so much happening will Anna see the light and find her path to happiness?

There were plenty of moments in this story which made me smile but there is so much more to this book than a good laugh, and I was surprised at many of the twists and turns that this story took me on. The characters are very relatable and loveable, even when they are making questionable decisions, and there is so much drama, confusion, fun, and friendship swimming between these pages that A WALK IN WILDFLOWER PARK by Bella Osborne is sure to please the harshest of critics.

A WALK IN WILDFLOWER PARK by Bella Osborne is a fabulous story of friendship, love, and finding your path and I highly recommend it to all fiction readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

The main character, Anna, is trying to rebuild her life after being dumped by her fiancé. She's sworn off men and love, but suddenly there are two worthy, handsome contenders for her affection. Meanwhile, her BFF, Sophie, is dealing with an inattentive husband and three unruly kids - and serves as a great sounding board and supporter of Anna. There's also an underlying mystery that maybe is meant to add a little bit of suspense to this otherwise light tale.

While I enjoyed the premise of a young woman who has been rejected and is trying to move on despite a dark spot in her past, it didn't quite deliver. There's a sweetness to it with good relationships amongst the characters, but there isn't a lot of depth. I struggled to get into it mainly because it didn't flow smoothly but seemed chopped up. The changes in POVs came abruptly as did the changes in settings. I think the story was first presented as a serial in 4 parts so perhaps that's why it didn't come together for me as a whole. The dialogue was clever and humorous in spots, but there were scenes where it was disjointed and difficult to tell who was actually talking. This served to slow the book down as I had to reread in order to figure out who the speaker was. Overall, not a bad book, just not my cup of tea.

Anna’s engagement is over, and she decides life without men is the way forward. Moving into a new flat with its own private park is a step in the right direction. There, she plans and schemes with her best friend Sophie, mother of two and pregnant with a third, whose life is not what she imagined.

A difficult male colleague who threatens Anna’s career provides the initial conflict and humour. There’s also a mystery texter who makes her wonder if she’s really sworn off men, and her ex refusing to stay out of her life. The wildflower park is a source of solace as Anna faces her past and tries to forge a future she can live with.

Ambition, angst, conflict, humour and romance are major themes in this story

As the story progresses, Anna’s relationship problems continue. Liam her ex, seems to be regretting his decision, but does she really want to go there again? Hudson is an enigma and proves a supportive friend, and the face behind the text is revealed.

There are some interesting twists in this book, which alter Anna’s perception of certain people in her life. There are many laugh-out-loud moments, especially for those who have looked after young children.

The characters develop in a pleasing way. The plot deepens but still keeps its secrets the end.

Heavily pregnant Sophie’s life implodes. Her story has the perfect mix of emotion and humour, especially when, Sophie and Anna discuss the state of her marriage.
There are some touching scenes with Bill, humour with Maurice(the cat) and Anna wonders if she really is cut out for the single life.

Anna undergoes significant character development in this story. Illustrated by scenes with her ex Liam, Hudson, her attractive work colleague, and Connor, the man she met by mistake. She’s in a quandary, should she hold out for her soulmate, settle for what’s available, or go it alone?

A new opportunity forces her to face her past fears. Then, the story takes a darker turn. Even though like me, you may have suspected this development, the clues are there, the final events are suspenseful and menacing, and give this story another unexpected dimension. adding depth and interest.

Anna’s character develops further as the actions of others and changes in her career make her face her demons. I love this character and it’s good to see her discovering her true self. Sophie’s story is also resolved in a satisfying way, and she provides her share of angst and laughter as the story draws to a close.

Romance isn’t neglected, Anna finally realises where her heart lies but she faces significant conflict before she finds her true soulmate and her happy-ever-after.

This is a lovely, contemporary story about family, friends and career, with romance, humour and mystery, a very enjoyable read.

I received a copy of this book from Avon Books UK via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Wildflower Park tells the story of two friends Anna and Sophie. Anna has just been dumped by her fiance and is looking for a fresh start. She moves to a charming neighbourhood close to Wildflower Park, where her friend and colleague, Sophie lives.

Sophie is a married mom of two with a third baby on the way. Her kids are a constant source of stress—her husband, Dave is no help either and always irritates her. His nonchalant attitude makes her question if she really married the right man.

Enter Hudson, a charming, mysterious American and a new colleague who has been assigned to work with Anna on a project. Sophie thinks she has a huge crush on him. Or maybe it’s just her raging hormones. Anna disagrees with his ideas and they don’t get along. She can’t help rolling her eyes whenever Sophie brings him up in their conversation.

Their boss, Roberta assigns Anna and Hudson the task of organizing a morale-boosting event for the staff to motivate them and strengthen their bond as a team. Shortly after the team arrive at the rustic farmhouse Anna arranged for their stay, Roberta shows up with a stranger. She introduces this newcomer to the team as a consultant will be working with them for the next three months. Anna is furious when she finds out this person is. Her anger is somewhat tempered by the fact that Hudson shares Anna sentiments and this somewhat clears the tension between them which they had when they first met.

And who's her mystery texter who ends his messages with a C?

Wildflower Park is a fun read which I enjoyed immensely. I like the author’s writing style. The characters are realistic and believable. I liked the camaraderie between Anna and Sophie and I found the office drama and dialogues between the coworkers entertaining. I could easily picture myself in the office setting and the park. This is my first book by the author and I can’t wait to read more of her books. Highly recommend!

This book is less about meandering through a beautiful wildflower park, but rather navigating the trials and tribulations of relationships. It was a pretty good read but not my favourite from Osborne and it’s not a plot that will be memorable in a few books’ time.

Anna and Liam have split up after supposedly being on the way to getting married in the future.

After moving away, landing at wild flower park alike Sophie her best friend living next door, married with kids and currently pregnant, Anna thought she too would be by the time she hit thirty, when she's twenty eight and suddenly single once again.

Meanwhile from Sophie's perspective she wishes her nightmare kids and do nothing husband weren't holding her back career wise like they are and feels they take her for granted especially when Dave doesn't plan holidays or treats for them to do instead just messes around with his gaming.

After Hudson joins their company and Anna and Sophie hear he's gay it doesn't stop Sophie having a huge crush on him and later when Liam shows up again unasked for Anna and Hudson tells a lie that's so huge but could it come true for them?

The book is full of drama from Sophie going into labour on the park, Hudson going to New York with Anna to show her his hometown and where they could end up working with some really cute moments, university reunion invites keep arriving making Anna uneasy and Connor not being fully boyfriend material in a huge drama involving her parents and some drugs as well the book takes many twists and turns and drama you don't see coming it felt like a thriller not just chick lit!

Anna being alone takes on a cat from the shelter which is lovely to read adoption isn't ever hardly raised as an issue in books and especially as it links her to her cat's former owner who loved him so much she took him to him and have an old man many forms of friendship.

I loved the depth in this plot Bella's books keep on bringing more!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Life’s not always a walk in the park…
Anna thought she’d found The One – until he broke off their engagement exactly a year before their wedding day. Hoping new surroundings will do her the world of good, she moves in to a place of her own on the edge of gorgeous Wildflower Park.

With the help and friendship of her neighbour Sophie (a stressed-out mum whose children a regular source of newly-invented swear words and unidentifiable sticky surfaces), Anna quickly settles in and pledges to focus on her career, but a handsome new colleague seems determined to thwart her attempts at every turn. And when she receives a text from a mystery man, it looks as though an unlikely romance is on the horizon…

Is Anna about to be swept off her feet by someone she really shouldn’t be falling for? Or could this be the new start she needs and deserves?

A great summer read. I found the characters to be well developed, and multi-dimensional. There were lots of twists and turns and multiple sub-plots to keep you engaged and interested in the outcome.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Avon and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I never imagined i would love this book so much. I have caught myself laughing and giggling because of these characters, they supper fun and I find Anna interesting. She is not a boring character but she will give you a lot of fun throughout the story. There many conflicts you will encounter in this book, major and minor but you will never feel stressed about these rather you will find them really smoothly going.

Anna is such hilarious character as well as her best friend, they are complicated people but not that complicated to meet. Other characters are really good too. I love the setting to much, really relaxing to the mind and make me want to go to flower fields right away.

The whole concept of this book is truly beautiful, especially the start. It has that kick that will hit you so hard and make you fall in love with everything.

The book will make you realize that in life the unexpected things that come into our lives are the best, these little detours are way better than the things we have planned in the past.

All in all I highly recommend this to all you are looking for a fun and light read.

A funny, moving, page-turning read with relatable, engaging characters and plenty of twists and turns in the plot. I especially enjoyed the close friendship between Anna and Sophie (with her fun, inventive child-friendly swear words!) even while each of them were tussling with very real personal dilemmas. Another great read from Ms Osborne!

I thought I pressed play on a cosy mystery here, but I was apparently wrong.

This slice of life chit lit sort of book isn't really my cup of tea so I feel like it's impossible to rate it any higher than 3 stars.

I mean, it was nice - for an (almost real-life sort of story - but not great.
There were times where I was a bit bored and wondered why I stuck with the whole thing, but the characters were nice enough to spend time with. Not great, once again, but OK.

There was also some kind of darkness looming in the background.
It eventually showed its ugly face - and it turned out I was spot on right about everything I suspected.

To be honest... It all felt a bit over the top.
Or, no, miles over the top!

The slow-moving slice-of-life pace with splashes of romance took a really dramatic turn into almost serial killer territory from one minute to the other. I got a bit of whiplash, like: "Woah, that was a bit of a turn, wasn't it!?"

Not sure how this book was originally divided into four parts, because I felt like there were no natural pauses or cliffhangers anywhere.

The writing was adequate, but nothing to write a raving review about. (Sorry.)
It's really not my sort of book so I'll gracefully bow out and leave the same way I came in, thank you very much!

Another lovely read by author Bella Osborne.
We follow the stories of Anna, a newly single woman who feels like she can never find the right man, and is hiding a few of her own secrets, and Sophie, her married friend, who is pregnant and suffering her own worries.
After moving into a place of her own, Anna begins to settle into her life for one, peppered with adventures with Sophie and her family in the wildflower park that they live near.
The story is seasoned with not one, not two, but three prospective love interests for Anna, and a few twists and turns that were definitely unexpected!
And Sophie? I could relate to her, as a working, married mother, not sure whether this was the life she had agreed upon, instead, questioning her decisions to settle with the situation she has found herself in.
An easy read, with romance, a bit of mystery and some great laughs too.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Blurb :

My Thoughts :
Always excited to read one of Bella Osborne’s books, I was pleased to see the Wildflower Park Series made in to one book rather than the four part series it was originally released in.
We meet Anna, who has been recently dumped by her Fiance Liam. Hoping for pastures new Anna moves into a flat on the side of Wildflower Park, which has its own private entrance.
Her BFF is neighbour Sophie, who she also works with. Sophie is married with 2 children and ready to have her third. She has her own problems to deal with and is very much centre stage of the story.
Well Anna is truly off men but when she has 2 men by the names of Connor and Hudson, suddenly trying to win her effections and then the return of Liam wanting her back she is very much torn in which direction to turn, should she stay single, go back to Liam or start afresh with a new man.
With lots of twists and turns, an array of great characters, descriptive scenery and surroundings, A Walk in Wildflower Park will leave you wanting more.

Cute and funny sometimes, but also sped-read through some boring parts sometimes. I feel like it tries to cram a bit too much into the story as far as characters a plot, but It was a quick, entertaining vacation read.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Avon and NetGalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. Anna breaks up with longtime boyfriend and her life will never be the same. When her ex shows up at works and possibly in charge of eliminating her job things get crazy. She has a love interest at work as well and seeing someone outside of work who turns out to be wolf in sheep’s clothing. While all this is going on her best friend Sophie moves in and leaves her husband to deal with the house and kids. This story has so many twists and turns hard to keep up, but oh so enjoyable. You will laugh out loud at some of the things that happen. You don't want to miss this book and won’t be able to put it down! I loved this book and Bella keep up the great storytelling!

A great book with very cute characters, a great friendships, some love interests, a mysterious secret from the past and a surprise at the end. And with Maurice, a cat. I also loved it that the "Wildflower Park" from the title actually features in many scenes of the book.

This book has originally been published in 4 parts. You don't notice those 'breaks' at all, especially since each part ends with a kind of cliffhanger and the next chapter picks up at the exact same spot. It might feel a bit lengthy to some, since it also covers several months in Anna's (and also Sophie's) lives, but it's not dragging or even boring. Probably also due to the great writing style of Bella Osborne.
I enjoyed every chapter, also the ones about Sophie (and her family). Lots of scenes are devoted to her and her struggles as a working mum of 2 young children. She is really more than only a supporting character in this book. But I especially liked Bert and his friendship with Anna. His "I wanted it to be you" was the cutest line in the whole book for me.

It's 'that' time of the year again. The time to celebrate, to open the processco, to deck the halls. Yes, it's time for the new book from Bella Osborne!

This is the story of Anna and Sophie, friends at the same work place who have very different problems. Anna is lonely, frustrated that yet again, her love life has floundered, whilst Sophie is unhappy in her maraige. The arrival of an American called Hudson causes further complications for both work and in their personnal lives.

Want to know more about the story? Read other reviews. The writing is, as is always the case with Ms Osborne, of top quality with her characters being sympathetic and well-rounded with everything ending here on a very intriguing cliffhanger.

If you've never read a novel of Ms Osborne's before, then...
