It's hard to review this book with the star system because I have to comment on both the editor and the actual poets. The editor worked for the New Criterion, which is a crappy conservative magazine edited by that blowhard Roger Kimball but it does have a really good poetry section. So that motivated me to get to this. Also I like metrical poetry. The collection here is inconsistent but that's a matter of personal taste. The bigger problem is that not all the poetry here is metrical so I feel a little cheated.
The Seamus Heaney poem here and a few others make it a worthwhile purchase, though.
