Our attempt at fixing things backfired. Now here I am, with no friends, no family...and no plans. Yet, somehow, I don't feel alone. As I begin to move on, I can't help but notice the man who was there for me during my darkest hour. Esteban Garcia is the dashing hero you want on your side, even though I'm no damsel in distress. With his dazzling smile, bright green eyes and golden skin, he's a brand of gorgeous I'm not used to, and mysterious enough to drive me crazy with thoughts of him. I wouldn't be surprised to find out I've been enchanted by him...or maybe I was fated to be his all along.

I'll admit that it has been a while since I have read this book, but I can still remember how it made me feel. And those are the best books. I can remember scrolling through Facebook when Hilaria posted on a book/author page promoting this book. I downloaded it and jumped right in - finishing it in one night.

Ines is on vacation with her husband when she decides enough is enough. She wasn't planning on ending their marriage in the middle of a crowded restaurant but it just sorta happened. Of course her husband blew up on her, and after the manager intervenes, he leaves her stranded in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Esteban, the restaurant manager, helps Ines get an apartment that is owned by his sister. The sister that doesn't think it is a good idea for him to get involved with Ines. He agrees that Ines needs time to heal and find herself. So he lays low - only seeing Inez a couple times during her first few months in Albuquerque.

During those couple months, Ines deals with her lawyer ex-husband. The divorce is in-progress when she sees Esteban in a new light. Or has she always seen him this way? They decide to take things slow. And deliciously slow it was.

There were so many things I adored about this book, but the characters were my favorite. Ines, while obviously hurt, was never obnoxious about her brand-new start. Her ex was truly a piece of 💩 but she didn't let that bring her down. Esteban was just as wonderful. He really was her prince charming and protector. And when you put them together. . . *fans self*

Like I mentioned earlier, it has been a hot minute since I read this book. Writing this review has me wanting to pick it up again soon. Y'all know how much I love a good slow-burn romance.

The cover lure is strong with this one. The blurb promises something sweet and on that point the romance reader in me wasn’t disappointed, but a couple over-stretched plot devices and a flimsy conclusion prevented my total satisfaction.

I’ve felt myself fall into this story quite easily, sympathetically siding with Ines, the heroine, finally taking action after years of feeling miserable in her marriage, being constantly belittled and mentally abused by a careless and ill-tempered husband.
On their last day in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she gathers the courage to voice her concerns to her husband over their last dinner in town, hours before their scheduled trip back to L.A.

Why she was expecting this confrontation to stay civil, I have no idea, but safe is to say, Brad played the part of the hateful bad guy flawlessly, setting Ines to be rescued by the charming restaurant manager, Esteban.

I liked that part, how seemingly genuine and realistic their first encounter appeared, the attraction between them tangible and bewitching at the same time. Considering Ines fresh breakup, I could appreciate how both would second-guess and ponder their course of action, regardless of the temptation to surrender to the obvious chemistry. I really appreciated the author stressing about Ines’ confused feelings about Esteban from the get go. Something is definitely there, for both of them, and I got all the warm and fuzzy feels—albeit uncertain— of a new found romance.

I had no issues with the slow pace the author chose to set for the main characters to be together, as Ines’ divorce was no settled yet, their slowly growing romance felt adequate with Ines overcoming her new single status. However, I felt peeved with the reasons Esteban had to go MIA for weeks, months even, leaving the heroine speculate far too long, alone. Something felt unbalanced to me, partly due to the story told in the heroine POV, I could scarcely understand at times if Esteban was really interested in the heroine, his character appeared uneven at times. Intense and saying all the perfect things one minute, dull and absent the next.

When both eventually get together though, it’s a feast for romance readers, infatuation and delightful moments of happiness.

Despite a charming journey, I must say I felt quite disenchanted with the conclusion of the story.

The big reveal behind all the secret glances and knowing looks between Esteban, her sister and apparently the whole town felt fairly foolish to me. I was expecting something more tangible maybe. Something to appease my cynical and practical mind after the constant teasing of something too big and too meaningful to be disclosed to Ines upfront.

Some nitpicking on my part
: Editing / proofreading. In one of the sex scenes, the hero got to roll down a condom twice before intercourse. That was quite comical, but I guess there will be no surprise pregnancy for this guy!?

Too much “smiles that reach the eyes”. I’m totally nitpicking here, but it was recurrent enough that I made a note for it.

Something else gave me a pause. I’m all for being inventive in sex scenes, and giving a peculiar voice to characters, but when you’re having hot and heavy sex, I doubt you’d be describing being horny this way, or you’re Gertrude Elion—or— Dr Susan Love and I apologize :

I can feel the blood rush through my veins and the rapid rise of levels of dopamine and epinephrine in my blood are making me feel already ecstatic.

I know it feels like I had most issues than pleasure reading this one, but I liked it, really! I just can’t help voicing every little thing I may have taken issue with. #SorryNotSorry

Overall, a cute and tender romance, engaging characters, set in charming New Mexico elegantly penned by the author. I’ve pretty much read the whole book in one sitting, pleasantly engrossed in the unfolding romance between a dazzling and intriguing good guy and a heroine brave enough to start anew. I was effortlessly swept away by their romantic journey.

It was my first book by Hilaria Alexander, and I’ll gladly have a look at her backlist and future releases whenever I’m in the mood for something sweet.

Enchanted by You was such a nice and sweet read.
Ines and Esteban journey is worth your time you won't regret to get to know this fabolous fated couple.

Ines, our main character, feels belittled and trapped in an unsatisfying marriage by her husband behaviour.During their vacation in New Mexico our heroine understand that love should always be easy and powerful and it should enrich every lover's life and heart. She finally tries to explain her thoughts to her husband in order to be happy but things got quickly ugly in a very busy restaurant fortunately there is a man ready to protect and understand her.
Esteban is a very charming and hot man who will definitely melt your hearts.

Hilaria Alexander wrting was so good and captivating it was really easy to fall in love with this story. The setting where it took place was so well depicted and realistic that I now want to add the Albuquerque city to the list of the places I want to see.

História bonitinha mas apenas isso.O conflito ocorre já no início do livro, depois acontece apenas o começo de um namoro, os dias correndo e pequenas coisas.
Me parece que faltou audácia para a autora, coragem de arriscar na história. rs

Saying goodbye to your life as you know it and make drastic changes, would you do it? In Enchanted by You Ines does that very thing, she walks away. I love the journey she makes, and the man she meets. Enchanted by You is a sweet, charming story.
“He looks at me like I’m the most magical, beautiful creature, holding the secret to eternal happiness.”

Ines is a married woman. Once she was happily in love, but over time her husband changed. Not that he was cheating or beating Ines, but there are more ways to kill the love of a woman for a man. And right now, Ines is totally done with the whole situation and decides to start over. Starting over in totally town is unplanned, but it turns out the be decision. Here she meets Esteban, who gives her all the feelings she hadn’t had for a long time.
“I can’t bring myself to spoil the moment. I’m not sure how long we dance, closer to each other than we’ve ever been, constantly stealing glances when not openly staring at one another.”

I love Ines. She’s a brave woman who decides enough is enough, who wants to be happy and acts on it. Could she have handled it differently? I don’t think so, she saw an opening and took it. Her new life is very different, in a city where she doesn’t know a single soul. Luckily there’s Esteban (and his protective sister), who makes it all easier. That Ines falls for Esteban isn’t a surprise. Although he’s a good looking, successful guy, he also happens to be a sweet and kind man. A man looking for the right woman to settle down with.

Like other books by Hilaria Alexander, Enchanted by You is an engaging story with a great leading couple and interesting side-characters. It’s a standalone book and is told solely through the eyes of Ines. I kind of miss the point of view of Esteban, I really want to know what he is thinking from time to time. Okay, obviously I can guess it, but I want to read it, because Esteban is a very intriguing guy. I love Ines and Esteban together, they are an amazing couple who both deserve all the love and happiness.
“His eyes beam in a way I’ve never seen before and the fire in my chest burns with the intensity of my love for him.”

A story full of incredible charm, authentic and so charming!

There’s nothing classic with Ines and Esteban’s journey, it was more like a sightly retro feel. I felt the butterflies all the story, transported by the characters and the beautiful scenery place.

I believe in strong connection between people. I definitely found it with Ines and Esteban. It was magnetic, with that crazy feeling in the air, like they belonged to each other even they’ve just met.

Esteban met Ines at a bad time in her life, when her marriage was falling apart. But that meet cute was filled with that little something that won me over, enchanting and bewitching.

In the heat of the midday sun in Albuquerque, Ines was going to find her way back, to that woman she was once, not the shadow she became. Throughout Ines’ introspective journey, seeing her falling in love with a place but mostly day by day being overwhelmed by a certain charming man, too hot and sweet to handle.

Esteban was just boyfriend material, pretty intense firsthand with Ines. Looking at her like she was his, and slowly making his way into her heart. I swooned so many times I lost count… he had this presence that immediately attract people.

This story was such a breath of fresh air. I was transported into their life changing journey, incredibly romantic, challenging and also so magical. I loved the author’s creative way to make it like a modern fairytale with this hint of mystery.

Hilaria Alexander described a love story in a magnificent way, reminding me how it felt when you met the one, making my heart race, this thrilling, exciting but a bit scary feeling. All the feels!

I really enjoyed Esteban & Ines’s story! I was drawn in from the first page.

Esteban was swoon worthy! I loved how sweet & protective he was over Ines and his family. Ines has been through a lot in her life. I found her incredibly brave! I loved the two of them together and loved watching their relationship develop.

I was intrigued by this book by the blurb, and then I saw the cover and YUM. Not only is the guy on the cover gorgeous, so is the character he is based on.

Ines takes a vacation to Albuquerque with her husband of 7 years, in hopes that they can turn their relationship around. It's been bad for a while, but Ines really hopes things can change. She quickly learns they will not, when she tells her husband she wants a break while in a restaurant. Her husband causes a huge scene, and the restaurant manager comes over and intervenes. Ines decides to stay in Mexico and her husband returns home, without her.

Ines sees a flier for a room for rent, and the restaurant manager, Esteban, tells Ines he knows the owner. It happens to be his sister. Esteban gives Ines space, as she deals with going through her divorce and acclimating with a new city. They only see each other a few times over a two month period.

In the meantime, Ines is ready to move on. Her divorce is in progress, and her ex is a lawyer, pushing it through quickly. She sees Esteban again and she knows she is crazy attracted to him. He also makes it clear he's interested in her. So they start a slow-burning relationship.

It turns out that Esteban has a secret he's been keeping. It was a little far-fetched, but it was interesting and added to the story.

I can't properly explain how great Esteban is. He was so kind and loving to Ines, and to his sister and her family. He was so swoon-worthy.

I liked Ines as well. She became much stronger over the course of the story. She and Esteban were so great together.

This was a good story and I would recommend it.

Enchanted by You starts off with Ines being on vacation with her husband in Albuquerque and decides to make a drastic change in her life. It's clear that she hasn't been treated well and has had enough. That is one of the strongest things in Enchanted by You. Ines realizing she wasn't being treated as she should be and even though he wasn't hitting her, there was definitely some abuse.

Ines is such a strong character and I loved her development in Enchanted by You. It was nice to see a strong female character finding her way without a man. Even if Esteban wasn't that far away, haha. Esteban is a hardworking man, who not only is taking care of his parents' business but starting his own as well. On top of that he's really close to his sister!

That's another favorite aspect of mine. All of the characters in this book, I loved Lupe and even Ines' neighbor. They made this book even more fun. It was clear from the start that there was an instant connection between Ines and Esteban, but I loved that it was more of a slow burn romance. Ines gave herself time to figure stuff out and how aware she was of having feelings while just getting out of a relationship. Not man books take that in consideration.

The twist at the end wasn't something I was expecting. I think it made their connection just a bit more special, but it was an unique twist in a love story like this. Enchanted With You is written in a way that makes you keep on reading! I fell in love with these two characters and only wished them the best. I would've liked to have had a few chapters from Esteban though! I think htat would've made this story extra special and more complete!

Ines is married to an emotionally abusive man. While they are in New Mexico, she finally reaches her breaking point and tells him she’s not going home with him. He blows up and leaves her there to fend for herself.
Esteban owns the restaurant where Ines and her husband are dining, and he comes to her aid. She finds a small apartment to rent and finds out his sister is the landlord. Ines rents the apartment and settles into Albuquerque life.
She becomes friends with both Esteban and Lupe, his sister. She cannot help but feel an attraction to Esteban, however, and learns from Lupe he feels the same way. She is in the process of a divorce, however, and is afraid to rush into anything else.
What I liked: I loved this book. I seriously loved the beginning, when Ines is referencing #Maybehedoesnthityou and all the ways a partner can still be abusive, after each line Brad says that is an example of that abuse. What a powerful way to illustrate this kind of abuse and I hope that some reader of this book will take inspiration from Ines and get out if she’s in that kind of situation.

“You think we’re not in a good place,” he repeats, eyes wild. “Your’e insane if you think you’re going to make it without me.”
#Maybehedoesnthityou but he tries to make you believe you’re nothing without him.

So. Powerful.
I really loved Ines, for this entire book. Once she took herself back from Brad, she shone. And Esteban was amazing.
What I didn’t like: The book ended! Why did it have to end??
Overall: Totally swoonworthy book with a strong, intelligent woman and a man who isn’t intimidated by that. Get this book today!

ENCHANTED BY YOU is a good depiction of a relationship done right and a relationship that is toxic. The story jolts you from the start as readers experience a taste of the appalling behaviour Ines’ husband subjects her to on a regular basis. He may leave her behind in Albuquerque, but frankly, I was not sorry to see him go.

Enter Esteban Garcia, a man who treats Ines well from the start; there is a strong pull between them that is apparent from the beginning and it shows throughout their relationship. When they are together, they work so well. Their nervousness, giddiness and quiet excitement in being with one another makes for a lovely read. I was happy to be in their company and I was happy for them.

I was a tad frustrated about a few things with the story. Firstly, it took so long for them to get together! At the halfway point it’s been about three months since they met, and the had only spoken to each other a handful of times. Secondly, I felt Esteban’s “secret” created more friction than it did depth to the plot.

Summing up, I’d say there are two stories here: Ines’ journey to find herself after a failed marriage, and the romance between Ines and Esteban. Even dealing with some heavy topics, I think the author has handled them with a light touch that gives readers substance but never gets mired in deep angst. The writing is engaging and there are no loose ends when we reach the end. I liked it!

Enchanted by You is entertaining and romantic. Ines finds herself starting over in a new place after she comes to the realization that she has the strength to move on from a bad relationship.

Esteban is swoony and protective but he seems to be keeping a bit of a secret and right from the start I want to know what that mystery is!!

This author has a way of making the location and setting of her story come alive. Albuquerque felt like another character in the book that I became invested in and wanted to learn more and more about.
The story is an easy and quick read that kept me interested and flipping pages right from the beginning.

Hilaria Alexander has a new name -- Hilaria "Wanderlust Creator" Alexander.

Enchanted by You is the sweet love story of Esteban and Ines, two lost individuals that find each and love when they least expect it. The backdrop of New Mexico plays a huge part of one woman's journey to find true love and happiness, and a man's quest for his fated love.

I didn't put this book down and read it in one sitting. A perfect story of chasing your happiness regardless of the bumpy road to get there.

Hilaria Alexander has written another wonderful story that will pull you in from the first page. I honestly did not want this book to end because the story of Ines and Esteban is one of destiny, fate, or just in the right place at the right time circumstance that will make your heart pitter-patter all the way through the entire book. And on top of these two great characters, we are introduced to Albuquerque, New Mexico a place added to my must visit list after reading another of Ms. Alexander's books.

First off I really enjoyed readying Hilaria Alexander's writing. It was just smooth and a very nice pace. Ines at times made me want to scream at her however, I think it's because at times I saw some of myself in her. I love her strength and how she was able to break the cycle. Esteban was amazing, I'm not sure if he was too perfect but I know that everything he did was just amazing. I loved watching them fall together. Such a sweet and tender read.

From the start Hilaria hooked me. Seeing Ines realize what she had to do about her marriage and carrying on. Seeing her rise and develop. Hilaria always writes the best female characters. The steamy scenes are well, STEAMY. I need an Esteban. Stat. I loved the sort of supernatural-ish element which is very subtle btw. Overall it’s a great story with a great message that I would read over and over.

This story was the kind that showed up out of nowhere. I originally wrote it for a contest, and when it didn't work out, I decided to make it a full-length novel. Ines and Esteban stole my heart and I couldn't get enough of them.
I hope you enjoy this charming New Mexico story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Can love ever be meant to be? Enchanted by You takes on the idea. I enjoyed the journey of Esteban and Ines. It took me a minute to get into it. Ines is trying to reconnect with herself. Esteban is a sexy restaurateur. I loved that it was set in New Mexico, not your typical setting. I enjoyed all the touches it added to the story.

Couldn’t get past the second chapter

Maybe it will pick up further along. So far, it is the most overwhelming male-bashing/women’s inequality depressing ‘romance’ I have encountered lately.
I know the #metoo movement is all the rage right now. I know women are all supposed to be completely anti-male in every aspect of their lives.
Not all of us feel that way. I certainly don’t. And that’s not what I’m looking for in a light afternoon romance.
So, fair or not, I would not recommend this book to any of my friends, as they all share my views on this topic, and on what is, and is not, the makings of a great romance.

Magical!

I had a smile on my face almost the entire time I was reading this story. Not the first couple of chapters, because Brad... but from the first time Esteban steps up, and asks her name, I was hooked. I love the descriptions, the little apartment, the streets and cafes, the ghost tours, all of it brings such depth to the story. Ines and Esteban are really special, and I adore the way the prophecy came true. The signs are all around, we just need to open our eyes to the magic! Also, I need chili chocolate cake.

This was a cute second chance romance with an insta love connection from the main male, while the main female character was basically being walked out on by her husband. But it worked. It was pretty well paced and had a good HEA with limited drama for these kind of books. I appreciate that Ines was able to find happiness and grow so soon after and even her ex-husband displayed growth at the end. Loved that. Esteban was smooth and kind and I appreciate his attentiveness to her in all manners. Just overall a sweet story.
