SIX BOOKS LATER AND I’M FREE I’M FREE I’M FREEEEEEE AT LAST

Final thoughts on the series as a whole:
Overuse of really bad nicknames
Overuse of “bro” (I stg typing that triggered me)
Not enough groveling (and many missed opportunities for some groveling)
Plot holes and loose ends (Nicolai? Who tf left the bomb at Seamus’ house?)
Coffee is not a personality trait
This should have been three books, four max, six was absolutely unnecessary and I was so bored by the end I didn’t care what happened to anyone goodbye

Kit Davenport: The Complete Series Kindle Edition
by Tate James  (Author)
I borrowed this book via the Kindle Unlimited Program and am leaving an honest and fair review.

This series must have awesome when you waited for each book to arrive. I'm sure waiting for it was like watching molasses run down an ice cold glass.

When it is all put together, it is an okay omnius where the first two books and the last book move a good and interesting clip. The in-between books would have been better if more story replaced the overwhelming amount of sex.

Kit Davenport is a master thief at her young age. She is hunted by every major police force and every private force. When she is finally found by the Omega group's best team, Alpha team, she discovers that she is more. Both to the 5 men of the group and in herself. She is a magical creature herself that has the powers to heal herself and others through physical contact.

The minor villain, Simon appears hither and thither and ends up being less frightening and more annoying. The secondary villain, Mr. Gray, I would actually have dealt more with as I would have liked more time with Bridget the main villain.

The story is told in different third person voices. All the six men and Kit get a chance to see and tell us about their story. There is a lot more telling with this technique than showing.

The final battle is a big let down as are many of the minor battles as they are cut off instead of fought.

All in all, if you can stick through the slow parts, this is fun series to read!

Overall rating 4/5 stars
Each of the books had between 3.5- 5 star ratings, with books 2, 3, 4 all being 5 star reads. book one was 4.5 stars, and book 5 and 6 were 3.5-4.

Parts of this series I completely loved loved loved and other parts dragged or I thought were over done. Overall it is one of the better RH series I have read and I would love to read more from this author!

P.S. Austin was my fav :)

OKAYYYYYY!

So. Where do i begin.

Well let me start by saying, HOLY COFFEE GODS!
this was a heck of a ride!!
so let’s start with what i didn’t particularly like..
1. i wanted a littleee more depth to the characters relationships tbh..(i mean, i fell for all of them but it would have been nice to get more)
2. the fact that lachlan didn’t turn out to be Kit’s dad..i really thought this was gonna be the plot twist and was holding out on it till the very end..but alas, that did not happen :( i really thought i was onto it pretty early, it basically felt confirmed for me when Finn said that thing bout his ‘kind’ being all bout the freaky times or whatever.. i was like “BINGO” that’s Kit right there! and also, for some reason i had read the synopsis for The hellhound book and thought it said Kit and her husbands *RULED* hell and seeing as her would be daddy (lachlan) was a prince, i thought that would be how the problems were solved somehow ... anywhoooo
3. that battle at the end...whaaaaaat? was NOT expecting that tbh and don’t know if i’m happy with it
4. thought that thing bout her being extra ‘hornay 😈 (no pun intended) and lovin the cake was gonna be symptoms of a pregnancy..but nope

and anyway,
KIT WAS AWESOME!!! my favourite thing about her was her cheese, caffeine & c*ck addiction ! definite highlights to this read hahah ;P
NEED MORE PLEASE!

OVERALL I LOVED THE SERIES! It was one of the best RH series i’ve ever read ! i loved their lil team! AUSTIN IS MY FAVVVV! loved my bad boy! i think he was mostly my favourite because i feel like him and kit were perfect together. i loved the FIRE and FIGHT they gave and took.
but all the boys have a special place in my cray cray heart!
austin - the bad boy with the biggest heart
vali - the one to talk to and the biggest.. u know what 🐉
caleb - the joker but the first crush
cole - the cutie big ole teddy
river - the big boy with loyalty to no end
wesley - the watcher with the most thoughtful intentions

Amazing series! I cannot believe I waited so long to read this but man I'm sure going to miss it now that it's over! I miss my guys already and I just finished the last book. Very well written even though it seemed kind of rushed with so much happening. Action packed yummy goodness!

This series had a bit of everything I enjoy in a storyline...Paranomal, action, great characters, laugh out loud moments (Loved Kit!) and let's not forget those steamy moments. Yes, this is a RH and Ms. James did a great job at it! I'm really glad I was able to read the boxset as each individual book ends in a cliffy. I will definitely be looking into more books by this author.

One might expect that over 6 books, a novel’s protagonist would have shown emotional growth. Such is not the case with Kit. Apart from her supernatural changes, Kit remained the same self-centered, impulsive, shallow dipshit she was from book one. OK—yes, that was harsh. But really, the fate of the world was supposedly on her shoulders, and she treated that responsibility flippantly, instead focusing on boning her harem at every opportunity (and drinking coffee...yes, we get it, Kit. You love coffee). There were many TSTL moments, and it doesn’t help if the author acknowledges it while she’s having the character do it! Like, “I know this is stupid but....” or “ I know I’m being selfish but...”

So, yes. This book was hella shallow. If you take it at face value—just a good “romp” of a book series with some supernatural shit thrown in for excitement—then sure, it’s a worthwhile series. To be honest, the first couple books really had me excited for the series as a whole. But it seemed there was an inverse response in Kit to the increasing seriousness of the plot. The more shit weighed on her, the more superficial and selfish she became. Her “going dark” stage lasted all of 2 chapters. I wish it was a whole book’s worth, because I honestly liked that Kit better.

The harem? I got a little bored over six books, to be honest. I don’t feel she truly bonded with all of them by the time the book series was over. Wesley, Caleb, and Vali seemed like barnacles, with River, Cole and Austin taking center stage. The author excelled at writing the sex scenes, but everything else seemed to take second fiddle. The ending felt rushed, and was the definition of a deus ex machina. Needless to say, I was rolling my eyes.

I’m not saying not to read this book series. It’s worth your time, but go in with eyes open that serious, it is not. I did not ONCE feel gripped with excitement. I wasn’t on the edge of my seat. The ending was a *shrug.* The romance was hot so for that, I’ll leave with saying it’s a 3-star read.

Holy freaking coffee beans! I don’t even know where to begin. I swallowed this entire world in about a week and now I feel better! I need more Kit (I’m totally heading into the novella after I write this!) but holy wowzers what do I even say about Kit and her extremely hot dianoch?? Like, speechless. Tate has woven a world I’d happily get lost in. With lost power, a prophecy to change the world. With blood, lust, secrets and one WITCH of a mother, the twists and turns and holy hell of hotness kept me hooked, to the point I missed a lot of real life ah! You will not regret picking up Kit, I know I sure as coffee didn’t!

Overall this series was okay. The books started out really good but when it got towards the last couple of books the world building was really lacking for me and there was just too many magical beings and creatures but being explained thoroughly. The ending of the last book, specifically the final battle scene literally ended as soon as it began. I wish more time was spend explaining this world without it being confusing and boring. If you’re looking for a fantasy series that features a reverse harem then I think you’ll like this. I mean I liked this but I just got annoyed towards the end and wanted it to be over

This book series was something else. It felt like I was watching this as a Netflix series and I didn't want to stop binging it.

I was a cheapskate and instead of buying all of the individual books off of Kindle for 3.99 a piece I decided to just download the "Complete Series" off of Kindle Unlimited, and man oh man I wasn't disappointed. This book series really didn't have a lull there was a reason for everything these characters had to go through so it was so easy for me to just want to read it nonstop.

All of the action and adventure that Kit and her 6 lovers go on was great. They didn't have any communication issues, for their problems, they were all adults in the relationship, no whiney annoying behavior that can be found. I just loved this to the max.

The way that this book series played out was done beautifully, I think that the writing was very easy to read and I honestly couldn't put this book down, every spare moment was dedicated to going on the adventures that Kit and her dianoch.

I would highly recommend this series, it is kinda a slow burn RH, but the relationships that all of the guys and Kit have is written in a very organic way where it doesn't feel rushed or fake. All the chemistry between the characters are present and there isn't one that I felt like was going to be left out.

There wasn't a dull moment and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the writing, Kit was sassy and knew when to reign that in, she was a strong female lead, and knew when to rely on her guys and when to go about doing things herself. I think that is why I liked this so much. Kit felt like a real authentic lead character and the guys knew what she needed and when to give her space. I really just loved this so much.

So read this if you are in the mood for a great time.

I am going to write some bios about the guys so I remember them if I ever want to go back through and reread this book, so I will put spoilers in there so I don't give away anything from the later books:

River (Alpha): He was the leader of the Alpha Omega team, he wants control in both life and the bedroom (hehe), he is British, and drinks tea unlike everyone else.

Cole (Drake): The beta, ex MMA fighter, doesn't waste words, cuts straight to the point

Austin (Bengal): Twin with Caleb, more sassy with Kit, didn't like her at first because she reminded him of an ex. so they were the true enemies to lovers. But when he does start to show feelings they still keep the banter as their foreplay, but they are one of my favorite pairings.

Caleb (Viper): Twin with Austin. He is the jokester, he is the first one that really liked Kit from the first time they met at the college.

Weston (Crow): The nerd of the group, he is such a cutie, and is shy, but when he opens up daaaang Wes.

Vali (real name Dragomir Valeriu du Romane): Mafia Leader, like Cole he is a straight shooter and will let Kit know what she needs to hear even if it isn't said in the best way.

Overall a solid series for a reverse harem! I enjoyed the whole way through with the exception of the start of the final book which was just not good. Still each guy had their own personality and that’s pretty rare and great in reverse harems.

Perfect mix of steamy and plot

Well written steamy book with a plot that could stand on its own. It's rare to find a book that can have both. This series definitely found a great balance.

Okay, so I started this series with big expectations. A lot of people talking about it, good reviews (mostly lol) and good rating. So why not? I'm on a binge of RH, so I've read a couple on the last few days and I was excited for this one.

For the most part, it was good. I mean, not great, but it was alright. Now let's talk about the plot and characters.

WARNING ⚠️ SPOILERS AHEAD!
.
.
.
.
.
.

Kit: At the beginning, I really liked her and was into her story. I wanted to know what she was and how she was going to control all her powers and stuff. She seemed like a badass character, she was this known thief stealing left and right from rich and powerful people, and I liked this premise. It doesn't last, unfortunately.

She is... Annoying. Whinny. Childish. Not at all acts the way she is always thinking she is. I absolutely hate when the character is powerful and all that shit, which she is, and yet they keep ending up in useless situations that show the complete opposite! How can I believe she is so powerful and all that when she gets kidnapped by a effing moron of a character in the middle of a game, and then she is freaking tired all the goddamn time to do anything about it. I mean, I get this was all so she could meet Vali, but I hated this part of the story. Simply cause it was stupid. Also, Mr. gray and Simon where freaking EVERYWHERE! anything that happened to kit: Mr. GRAY / Simon. Simon is such a slimy git and I don't even have anything to say about this awful built character.

Kit is strong, powerful, badass... But NO! She is just a useless twat, honestly. She throws one fire ball and then she needs to rest or have sex (I love sex scenes, but come on people!).

Her relationship with the guys doesnt evolve at all. They just fall all over her and that's that: LOVE! Caleb says he fell for her when she told him she was afraid of the thunder, like ?????? What? That's the only f**** thing to like about her? Than Austin despised her until he didn't. I'm still not sure what changed his mind. But let's talk about it later.

Overall, the thing I likes most about Kit was her backstory and her relationship with Lucy, which we all know what happens (I don't know what the point of putting a Bff if when the h starts dating the Hs, they basically stop talking). It's.sloppy.

Now, the best of this story are the men. I liked them a.lot, maybe with another h it would have been great. Kit just screwed that up.

Caleb: Enjoyable, funny, not an ass. Not much of.a backstory and I didn't like that he and Austin knew about the magical world and are mages. This whole blood mage stuff and he' s snake???? What? No sense to me.

Cole: love him to bits! He is attracted to Kit the first time he sees her, and for me it was one of the most organic relationship in the series. I missed when, in the third or fourth book, I can't remember exactly, he simply disappeared for a bunch of chapters lol

River: meh. The whole 'sir' thing had no appeal for me, tbh. He's an okay character, I guess. Didn't feel much alphaness in him though. Vali and Cole were much better at this.

Austin: I love me a cranky, dark character. It's my favorite flavor! And I liked the lack of relationship between him and Kit, it was slow to built and I wished the resolution was way better. I mean, his whole deal about Peyton and we barely tap into that! He hated Kit for that, and then there was no drama whatsoever to solve! I disliked a lot the story about his ex getting pregnant and him raising the kid. He was obviously still hangup on her, and I don't like OW in RH unless it's to cause drama which it didn't! That moment when Peyton appears and he's so shocked he doesn't even go after Kit, and she gets in the worst situation, I was hoping for SO MUCH drama and nothing really happens. Gosh. I was dying to know what the hell they talked about after Kit left.

Wesley: he is sweet and all that, but kind of flavourless for me. Not my fav. His crush was cute, though. Why he had a crush in Kit I have no clue LOL.

Vali: YES! Vali is so sexy. Again, it's bad that his relationship with Kit was... Nothing worth of note, tbh. Kit was bought by him, there was some sexual tension (and again she tries to f***** escape and CAN'T! AREN'T YOU FREAKING FAST OR SOMETHING, you daft bimbo???? USE IT!), and then he falls for her like ????

WHY?

Anyway, I didn't finish it. After book 4, I was bored to death and couldn't keep going. The plot wasn't good enough to keep my attention, it felt very repetitive, she gets kidnapped AGAIN, and AGAIN doesn't do shit. I saw some spoilers to see if it gets better but I don't think so.

In a nutshell, I guess the premise was good, but the development wasnt. For me there are three types.of RH in the world: lots of sex, no plot/ not a lot of sex but nice plot/ good plot and lots of sex.

This here ends up in another category: lots of sex and tries to have a good plot, but can't.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars - Series review

This series is awesome, but instead of listing all the good things, I want to highlight a few issues that bugged me.

Why did some Omega recruits not know about magic? It kept being hinted that this was part of some grand design, but it was never fully explained. Did Jonathan know the Alpha team was going to mate with Kit? Did he have a seer? Was there some ancient prophecy? This was hinted at throughout the story but never resolved, which was frustrating.

How did Jonathan know to give the Alpha team members their correct code names? River was an Alpha Wolf: Codename Alpha. Cole was a dragon: Codename Drake. Wes was a crow dream walker guy: Codename Crow. I forget what the twins were called, but you get my point. It couldn’t have been due to genetic testing because they were all listed as “unknown” or the last of their kind or something. So how did he know? How did Jonathan know to put all these specific guys together on a team? Like I mentioned above, it’s hinted that it was done by design… but How Did He Know? Ugh, stupid unresolved issues.

It was also suggested that Kit needed these specific mates due to their “one-of-a-kind” heritage. So, someone must have known everything ahead of time to orchestrate this setup.

How did Omega keep the secret of magic from some recruits?? You’d think classmates, teachers, or even casual conversations would have tipped them off. Wes even used his crows to spy on recruits discussing their potential abilities before magic was officially revealed. How did these recruits make it through the academy without hearing what everyone else knew? Did they have no friends? It just doesn’t make sense.

Why didn’t Kit ever learn about her heritage? She had so many potential sources of information—Jonathan, her mother’s former mates, or even the book Wes brought back from Ireland. Kit mentions wanting to read the book or talk to these people, but she never does. I’m still curious about the Ban Dea(sp?) race, but we barely get any information on them.

One last small pet peeve… Kit keeps calling Cole “Cutie,” and it’s completely overused. There’s nothing sexy about calling someone “Cutie” during sex. It’s just weird.

Top favorite series right here!

The Vixen's Lead

I loved it. Thoroughly captivating and hooked me from the start! Kit manages to get herself into all kinds of trouble but with her awesome sidekick and some hot new friends she manages just fine.

The Dragon's Wing

Eep! Completely consuming and highly entertaining and freaking hot...e-chi-wawa lol I'm loving every second of this book!

The Tiger’s Ambush

Yessss! So so good! I absolutely floved this book. The mystery and suspense kick my imagination into high gear and I love riding that edge of thrill waiting for the other shoe to drop. So may twists and turns that keep you guessing and never a dull moment. The sexy times are freaking hot. This author knows how to grab your attention and keep you invested in the story and characters.

The Viper's Nest

Good God, this book! Oh Kit and her guys just can't seem to catch a break with all the bad guys chasing after them which made for some super intense and action packed times. The suspense was on point, I was on pins and needles waiting for the other shoe to drop the entire time!

The Crow’s Murder

Oh my gosh! I freaking loved it! Tate James is my hero with this series! every single book has been a nail biting adventure and holy plot twists that make my heart stop! Wow... I am so hooked on this series it isn't even funny.

The Alpha’s Pack

Ah, I'm so sad to see this series end. It was everything a phenomenal series should be. This book was epic! What a way to end things. So many unexpected twists and surprises, it kept me on his and needles throughout while chomping on my fingernails! Definitely a hot and sexy read but so much mystery and suspense and action too. One of my all time favorite series!

I definitely fell down the fox hole with this one 😉🦊

This was my second RH read and I was not disappointed.

"What are you, fucking twelve? Who throws books?" He yelled, picking up the offending item and brushing it off. "Jesus woman, have a little respect for the written word!"

By far my favorite quote from the second book. It was then I knew I was going to fall in love with this story even more.

I am a loss for words on how much I love this story. I was very sad when it was over, as I wouldn't get to continue the adventures with this group anymore.

I laughed, I cried and I said what the fuck did I just read throughout the series.

This series had be hooked. I finish in a week and I had the hardest time putting down. And I reread it a month later because I couldn't get enough of it and needed to be back with this group.

Once again thank you tate james
for another amazing read.

Binge-read the whole series in 2 days, yes, all 6 books. This review comes to you from a severely sleep-deprived person. In hindsight, I feel like I flew through the books too fast and didn't really savour them. I might do a reread later in the year.

What I found so interesting about this series is that the author made all her characters flawed, by which I mean that none of them are perfect. I'm so used to books where the FMC has a mission to save the world and she's badass and noble and selfless, and just all-round so perfect. She may doubt herself, but she always does the right thing. In contrast, although Kit has a mission too, and is fairly badass and capable, she's also very much a normal person. She makes mistakes and berates herself for them. She gets upset when her guys keep secrets from her and then storms off and doesn't want to speak to them for awhile. She's devastated when those close to her are hurt, and withdraws into herself and "runs away" because she needs space.

Similarly, sometimes when the FMC has flaws, the harem is perfect, adoring and doting and never putting a foot wrong as they support her and help her in her mission. But no, this harem is also comprised of very normal individuals. Sure, they were a team before they met her, and they're like brothers. But they all have different personalities. Even the twins are completely different (one adores Kit from the start, the other is disdainful). I liked all the guys. The author did a really great job of keeping them unique and distinct from each other, and their connections with Kit are also widely different.

The twists and turns in this series were wonderful -- some of them really blindsided me -- and for such a long series, it never lagged. I've read series where it tends to run out of steam either in the middle or towards the end, or gets a bit boring or repetitive. Even Their Vampire Queen, or The House Isador by Joely Sue Burkhart, which I loved, was a little repetitive due to how Shara (the FMC) always needed to feed on her harem's blood and simultaneously have sex with them in order to replenish her power. Yet here, the author was able to keep the momentum going and have enough reveals and twists to keep things interesting right until the end.

Was it predictable? Well, to a certain extent yes, because you kinda know that Kit must succeed in her mission, otherwise I would have thrown my Kindle against the wall. But then again, no. There were times when I gasped and thought, "THAT DIDN'T JUST HAPPEN!" and I was definitely very shocked. Let me say that you'll feel your heart breaking for Kit, but the author will mend it back together again. That's as much as I can say while avoiding spoilers ::grin::

There were a few things that bugged me, but they were minor:

1. There was no mention of Kit going back to heal Siobhan, Seamus's great-niece, which Kit had promised to do.

2. We don't ever find out what Nicholai's game was or what happened to him in the end. Had he been acting to help Kit, or had he been loyal to Bridget all the while? What were his motivations?

3. How did Jonathan, Kit's adopted father, know what was going to happen? Also, had he been searching for her prior to adopting her? Or was discovering her a shock when the orphanage was raided?

4. I wished we had been able to see the scene where Wesley realises what he had sacrificed to the Badbh realm. We were told about it, but not shown. I'd have wanted to see his reaction and find out how he discovered it. Actually, there's so much about Wesley that was not shown, like how his experience in Caora had changed him, what he had done during that time, how he had learnt to change forms.

5. Likewise, there's another of the harem that becomes a shapeshifting dragon and we never got to experience his emotions or reaction when he discovers that he can shift into a creature of myth.

6. I'd also liked to have seen at least one session with Caleb's mentor to see how exactly the mentoring went and what he was being taught to do. His powers remained very vaguely described, and I think the least clear out of all the other men.

I think the author had to make some hard decisions as to what to leave out of the story, so as not to bog the story down too much with details or make it too long and draggy. So, some things were skimmed over, as you can see from my list, but I was still satisfied.

I hesitated reading this series because this author is best known for writing Madison Kate, which, even without reading and just looking at the reviews, I know is not my cup of tea. But hey, I was very pleasantly surprised. This was written earlier than Madison Kate (I checked publication dates; the first book of Kit Davenport was published in Sept 2017, while the first book of MK was published in April 2020) so I don't know if the change of tone in MK is because she was trying to write to market, in the vein of The Sainthood by Siobhan Davis and all those other OTT contemporary reverse harems where the guys have formed a gang and rule the town, and the girl is supposedly badass and there is violence and drink and drugs and partying and no one bats an eyelid or does any studying, despite being in high school / college. I can't read those kinds of storylines. I hope the author will go back to writing stories like Kit Davenport; I'd keep reading if she did!

These six novels revolve around main protagonists Christina (“Kit”) Davenport and the members of her harem – Cole, Vali, Austin, Caleb, River and Wesley. At the beginning of the series, none of the protagonists (including Kit) are aware of their true natures, and only become cognizant of their abilities through bonding with Kit.

It would take pages to summarize the plot, so suffice it to say it’s the protagonists versus the antagonists and, ultimately, the fate of the world will be decided by which team wins the “final battle.”

What I liked:

The characters – especially the members of Kit’s harem (Vali in particular!). These characters were well-developed, they evolved fairly realistically through their trials and triumphs, and their motivations never shifted into the unbelievable or the cartoonish. I have to admit that I found Kit’s personality a little tiring by the third or fourth novel, but not to the point that I stopped reading the series.

The plot – it was imaginative and creative enough that it propelled me quickly through the novels. (There were cliffhanger endings and I really hate those, but at least I had downloaded the complete series; therefore didn’t have to suffer.) Answers to the main plot’s questions were revealed slowly but surely, and – with the exceptions detailed below – those answers felt “right,” instead of contrived. This is right up my alley – a lot of action and magic, intrigue and mystery, with a lot of romance and erotica, concluding with resolutions that are mostly satisfying.

Why I didn’t give it five stars:

Grammatical/spelling and incorrect homonym errors, along with a character name change – it was odd to me that the first novel was ALMOST error free in this regard, but subsequent novels featured increasing numbers of these issues – so much so, that my initial enthusiasm was dampened.

However, what disappointed me the most were two “surprise” endings:

The first was at the end of Book One. Although the author provided a little bit of foreshadowing early on in the novel, I don’t think it was enough to pull off the surprise.

When a novel is written in the first person (as this one is), by definition, the reader knows everything the point of view (POV) character knows. In this case, the POV character was Kit. In my opinion, the only way to pull off a surprise ending in a first person narrative is to have the POV character totally clueless about the surprise. That way, the character AND the readers are partners in piecing together the puzzles. This approach leads to a really satisfying experience, in my mind.

In this case, Kit was very well-informed about an important aspect of her situation early on in Book One, but the reader was kept in the dark. When the surprise unfolded, I ended up very disappointed and felt very cheated.

The second surprise ending happened in the last pages of the final book of the series and, again, my responses were disappointment and feeling cheated. I think the final resolution of the series was an easy way out – and I won’t go into details to avoid spoilers.

NOTE: Readers should be aware that these novels contain frequent and graphic sexual content. They also contain some very violent narratives, including an extended torture scene in at least one novel.

In conclusion, this novel hit all the right notes for me and it shone with imagination and well-crafted characters/plot. Unfortunately, I was disappointed at both the beginning of the series and, again, at the end – and those two disappointments left my initial appreciation of the series somewhat tattered. Still, for those readers who enjoy supernatural, reverse harem fantasy (and don’t have problems with sexual and/or violent content), I would encourage you to give this series a whirl.

just okay

This really isn’t a review. More so my thoughts as I read the book. The series was just okay to me. There were some grammatical errors. More than to be overlooked and not comment. Loved the characters especially Vali and Wesley.

*Spoilers*
Book 1

Loved the multiple point of views. I love the inexperienced smart Wesley. The secrets exposed really didn’t surprise me. What is Jonathan hiding?

Book 2

Vali’s “gift” was predictable with his name. Jonathan, Jonathan. I personally think this supernatural war is what this spy agency is about. I think all the recruits have the gene. No need for the dreadlock reference.

Book 3

Is Vic her father? Too much was glossed over and unanswered by not questioning Vic. Also, we glossed over the shifters saying River was one of them. I have a feeling Jonathan is one of Bridget’s guardians. Maybe Lachlan? Getting MM vibes between Cole and River. I would think the twins would need longer than 10 years if apprenticeship if they’re immortal. Kit was dumb for saving the drowning woman. Like I’m all for saving people but clearly it was a setup like all these other injuries. Did they leave Lucy when they left after finding about Jonathan?

Book 4

Bridget has has to know Caleb is with her daughter right? I’m thinking River has to be a wolf. Jonathan didn’t plan the hit when she was meeting with him. Did Bridget give the amulet to drain Kit of her power? Vic hasn’t cared about Kit the entire time. Find it hard to imagine Vic would pop up to tell her not to bond with Cal. And how did he find her? I know Kit was mad but girl I thought we learned about running away. Vali!! Finally.

Book 5

Does the amulet have a tracker? I still don’t understand why Cole hates Vali. Vali was a kid. What was he supposed to do? Did Galen take Wesley? Jonathan was Kit’s grandmothers brother? I hope Sam is with Kit when meeting with Bridget. He clearly remembers things that they can’t. River and Wesley definitely shouldn’t go face Bridget. Don’t think Lucy is dead for real. How did she break the amulet?

Book 6

Is Finn Kits brother? How can Kit do a blood portal now? I think Kit can heal granny winter. Just white sounds like another dimension/world. I knew we’d see Lucy again. So happy!!! I wonder how she became an angel if she was already dead when Kit pumped her with magic. How did Kit forget that she could kill her mom?

This series was recommended to me by a friend, she said it was excellent so my expectations were hopeful but I was not expecting how I instantly got drawn into the story.

The main character is Christina (“Kit”) Davenport, a master thief, currently being hunted by every major police force and every private force. When she is finally found by the Omega group – Cole, Vali, Austin, Caleb, River and Wesley- she discovers that she is a magical creature and has the powers to heal herself and others through physical contact. We encounter a few villains, all from Kit’s past and we follow her adventures as the story is told in different third person voices. All the six Omega men and Kit get a chance to see and tell us about their story and we learn of their individual magical abilities as the characters do.

I found the characters well developed and well thought out. I felt that they evolved with their abilities and knowledge very realistically and their motivations stayed strong and never seemed unbelievable. Kit herself was a little exhausting, she is self-centered, impulsive, shallow and we are told about her love for coffee way too many times. But, despite her nature, I didn’t dislike her and I was rooting for her and her team.

The plot was imaginative and creative and it pushed me through the books at a very fast pace. As I read the whole series in one, I didn’t have to wait for the next instalment following the cliffhanger endings but I imagine it would have been frustrating if you’d needed to wait. The series had a lot of magic, action, intrigue, mystery, romance and sex and some of the scenes had me on the edge of my seat.

The writing itself isn’t great and although there is a lot in the books not to believe (like all the supernatural stuff) I found myself feeling uncomfortable with the fact that Kit’s only way to recharge her power was to have sex. This seemed so ridiculous to me but I could not stop myself from reading. At all. With average writing and a stupid plot, I was still sucked right in. I just enjoyed it for what it was.

I agree with others in that the first two books and the last one were the best, the middle got a bit ‘meh’ but, even so, this series gets 5 stars from me and I will be checking out more of Tate James’ work.
