Lil Harvest #1

The Endowment

Rate this book
In the beginning, an Incubus was merely a low-ranking demon who fed on the sexual terror he could inflict upon a human being—sometimes from a distance or cloaked as a dream. But that was before one of them got the idea to turn a human with nothing to lose into the perfect demon feeder. Kendrick was a mere stable boy under the rule of the cruel Lord Sterling. A stallion breaching the fence set off the Lord's sadistic tendencies on the innocent stable boy. Had it not been for a Lil-demon (incubus) watching and feeding off the torment from the shadows, it would have been just another abuse at the manor. But the demon, Bakzel, made the stable boy an offer he couldn't refuse. The offer of getting revenge. Yet, every wish has a consequence, but Kendrick was too broken to think about that when the Lil-demon cast the spell. *Please note that the Lil Harvest is in the genre Horror as it contains the effects of demonic manipulation, and as a result, content in these works may contain graphic scenes of depravity, cruelty, and violence—sexual or otherwise—that could be offensive and potentially triggering to some readers.

Meraki P. Dark

Meraki P. Dark is, as the last name suggests, the dark side of Meraki P. Lyhne.

Where Meraki P. Lyhne will play with anything from fluffy slow-burns with HEA and go to the border of dub-con, letting his characters deliver a striped ass, Meraki P. Dark will explore the depraved minds during non-con, and he’ll play with whatever fetish catches his attention.

It is the human psyche and its abilities to stretch or break that will be explored to its fullest. There will always be a plot—no one is tortured unless the character finds a good reason for it within the plot. There is room for love and tender moments, too, but they have to work hard for it!

So ... this is not a romance at all. 😅 Might not even be an erotica depending on what you consider erotic. What it is is a very depraved, dark, quite terrifying and even disturbing at times. I truly don’t know how I feel about this book. 🤷‍♀️ This started out really interesting though.

Kendrick the stable boy was raped by the lord of the land, Lord Sterling and he stroked a deal with a demon to get his revenge on the cruel lord. On this quest for vengeance, the lamb has become the blood-thirsty monster himself he once feared.

The beginning and end of this book are the most interesting for me because the middle part dragged and it was all about tortures. 😅 Seriously, do not read this is you faint easily. This is sadistic, cruel and very disturbing to the extreme. Rapes, torture, removing body parts, killing, demonic acts .. oh boy, the list is long. I 🤦‍♀️ know Lord Sterling started as a villain in this book but I ended up falling tears from him in the end. He deserved better. This book is really extreme and again .. disturbing but I’m kinda hooked and curious to see what will happen so I’ll still read the second book I guess. 🤷‍♀️

When the author says dark....they meant DARK! You have been warned!!
This was a no holds barred non/dub con fest that showcased how depraved a person can be if they put their mind to it. It totally fed into my own dark desires and I can only say I highly recommend this book.

(Originally reviewed for Love Bytes Reviews.)

What the f*** did I just read? Holy shite. This is one of the darkest books I, or anyone else, has ever read and reviewed at Love Bytes Reviews. I can think of a couple that might have been darker, but this was one hundred percent non-consensual sex from page one to the final page.

The story begins with us meeting Kendrick, a stable boy on an estate in the seventeenth century. Kendrick is going about his business, totally unsuspecting when his Lord, Lord Sterling, rushes into the stable and accuses Kendrick of leaving a gate open and allowing a stallion, who he says has far higher worth then the lowly Kendrick, to escape. While Lord Sterling has captured the stallion, Kendrick must pay. This is followed by the first rape in the story. Kendrick is brutally raped and left crying and bleeding with horse manure smeared over his face.

If that last line didn’t make you walk away from this review and you’re still reading this, please know that that wasn’t by far the worst scene in the book. They got worse as they went along. It was like a fatal car accident. I couldn’t look away. My husband is pissed because he wants to watch something on Netflix and I’m busy finishing reading this book and now doing the review.

Beware readers. This one isn’t for most of the Love Bytes readers that I’ve come in contact with during my time at Love Bytes. If you are one of those who loves HEAs and sweet platitudes, walk away from this one. No… run away. Fast. If, however, you like highly erotic stories that involve non-con, dubious con, and the like, you will probably enjoy this one.

It is the tale of demons and their interactions with the life of the young stable man who enters a pact with a demon to take revenge on his rapist. What the stable man becomes is pretty horrendous. Each scene gets tougher to read, and by the end of the story, I was feeling for the rapist from the beginning of the story. How twisted is that? Great job Mr. Dark.

I love the books by this author when he is writing as Meraki P. Lyhne, and I understand why he used a new name to publish this one under. I’m shocked to admit that I’m honestly intrigued by where this horrifying storyline is going. I highly recommend it to anyone brave enough to tackle it. I will be waiting for the next installment. I’m rating it 5 giant Love Bytes hearts because it truly made me uncomfortable to read. And the power to pull such a strong emotion from me is worth every one of those hearts.

I’m off to find something light and fluffy to watch on Netflix so I can sleep tonight!

MMy Thoughts and Review:

In the forward the author gives a shout out to my favorite erotic horror author, Nick Bella. I could not ask for a better plug for a new book series.

In the words of Qui Gon, "There is always a Bigger fish!" 😂😂

*** IF SCENES OF NON-CON, AND EXTREME TORTURE ARE TRIGGERS FOR YOU, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!***

The stage is set, mid 16th century England. Lord Sterling accused his stable hand of leaving a gate open so a prized horse has gotten loose. What follows changes the lives of everyone on the Sterling estate, and even a few with no connection to it at all.

This was a masterfully crafted erotic horror feast that twists you up inside, but leaves you begging for more.

While what's on the surface of this story is very, "in your face," with all the rape and torture scenes. Below are some pretty complex characters who learn and grow together. The underlings, Kendrick (MC), Lord Sterling, Jonah, and Bekzel, all these characters evolve and become different than they were from the beginning.

I absolutely loved that even though the underlings were looked at as just globs of nothing in hell, Bakzel saw their potential and Kendrick made connections with each of them. He saw their value too and also how different and unique their personalities were.

The world building is also fascinating as it builds and evolves along with the characters, especially the dungeon. So many complex and psychological aspects to love and explore beyond the surface.

**Something to "Chew On"**

If you had just been violated in the worst way imaginable and were given the chance at revenge would you take it?

What if you were given the power of immortality and all you had to do was get revenge on any and all of the same kind of monster who defiled you...would you accept it?

In return all you have to do is take a small collection from each one you take your vengeance on. A lil harvest, if you will, to be collected by the lil-demons each decade.

One man took the deal, and this is his story. Be prepared for one brutally decadent mind fuck! 😱

Don't be surprised either, when you find yourself conflicted when it ends. Part of you will be ready to devour the next book, while the other part will want, nay NEED to read something light and fluffy, maybe with unicorns or kittens. 😂

I make no apologies for loving this! As a gang rape survivor, I'm totally on board with a human incubus raping and torturing the rapists of the world. Sue me! 😁 Thank you, Meraki for creating this character, Kendrick, and this story.💋

I had the possibility to read it while it was a WIP.
Generally speaking in dark erotica genre, the POV in those books are mostly from the abused side. Little we know about the abuser state of mind. But not in this book.
We witness the hunger of our protagonist after he seals the deal with the devil itself. But things are more complicated than he first taught, and he became a part of a political underworld power game, also he became the abuser.
I remember when i read my very first dark erotica and i was shocked of my reaction. I love dark fantasy. I specially like this book because of the narrative POV.
I'm anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
*** warning***
This book is not for everybody. Please don't in any circumstances practice non consensual sexual activity. This is fiction and not reality.
Enjoy the book!!!

Hunger for revenge. It's all about hunger for revenge in this book from the stableboy who got raped by the stables owner. It is so DARK and heck...I had to stop a lot to decide whether to put the book down or read more.
Let me take the easiest part first. Worldbuilding, characters and plotline are all good, but also darker than normal. I wished we had more thoughts from the protagonist.
Then to the plotline..DARKER THAN DARKEST material to read. No I would not say it is romantic at all. It's in the category rape you without your 'yes please' mode.
I don't know how to describe it either..its just out of my comfort zone. But I managed to get through it.

3.5 / 5

*I have received an ARC copy of this book. I review this book voluntarily, opinions expressed here are my own.*

*** book contains dark themes, you have been warned ***

Also minor spoilers below

I don’t know what I expected going into this book, let’s just say that we really get right into the dark and gritty. The premise of the book is very interesting and as the start to a series it has a lot of potential. I would like to see how the next book plays out before making any recommendations to read or not to read the book/series.

That said I have a bone to pick with the pacing of the story beyond chapter 7ish, I felt it was moving really slowly and there really wasn’t much moving the plot forward in the middle of the book. The middle of the book is a lot of setup for future books, establishing dynamics between characters and rules of the world etc. which is fine. Until you realise that there’s a 9+ year jump between one of the chapters, and suddenly you’re just meant to accept character change without seeing much of the development.

P.s. as I reread the review I wrote. I realised that I sounded overtly negative about the book. It’s an interesting read and like I said before it has potential, I’m just really anal about books’ pacing.

First, please be mindful of the content warnings and descriptions for this book and series. (Small spoilers in review to follow)

The world building and the character development are brilliant. This book is an updated version of a rape-revenge narrative with a demonic twist, and in which the victim of sexual violence becomes a perpetrator of violence. It features significant amounts of both dubious consent and non-consensual sexual interactions. The way Dark writes this novel, though, can create a wild amount of catharsis for the reader around sexual trauma. I found the novel moving, troubling, interesting, and so much more. Again this is a type of dark erotic horror that some folks would struggle with, so read with caution. But the writing, storytelling, characters, concept, and world-building are exceptional. Kendrick, our main character, embodies my favorite type of character: one who is damaged, struggling, and yet still unwilling to surrender to the trauma and who still find his way to not just survival but thriving.

For some reason this book has been banned from most book sites. It is listed as a dark read, which it is, but certainly not as dark as some others that I've read. There is a lot of non-con in this book, but very little of it is undeserved. How can that be? Well, most of the people involved are criminals that are really having their own bad acts revisted on them, i.e. rapists being raped. Some innocents are hurt, but most of that is implied, not detailed (most, not all).

The bottom line, I read the book as more of a redemption story. The MC is hurt badly in the beginning and while still suffering is offered a choice, which isn't much of a choice, in order to be given the chance at revenge. He makes his choice without thinking through the long-term ramifications, but in his defense, he wasn't given time to think them through. He made his choice and then he had to learn to live with it and all of the consequences.

There are no "good guys" in this book. There are bad guys and worse guys. The bad guys are the non-heros and they aren't righting wrongs so much as using the worse guys as food or other resources to live.

The concept is new, innovative and wickedly entertaining. This is a great beginning to a new series and I'm looking forward to the next installment so that I can feed my dark side.

EXTREMELY DARK!!!!! HEED THE WARNINGS! This book to me was like a horror movie….you want to watch it but you don't want to as well. Whilst watching, you hide behind the pillow with one eye on the screen and hope you do not scare yourself too much! The things that take place in this book is extreme and not for the faint of heart. Kendrick is given a means to take a revenge for a terrible thing that has happened to him. The revenge is only visited on people found guilty of the same crime he was a victim of (the factor that made what takes place somewhat okay...I am not sure where I am on this). What also helps is that Kendrick questions his humanity throughout the book. A good read should you have the stomach for it.

4.5 * This is a dark erotic horror, filled with demons, underlings and sadistic humans and there is quite a bit of violence both physical and sexual so please take note of the trigger warning.
Saying that if you like things dark and deliciously twisted then this is a must read. It is a new pseudonym for this author who is known for their great characters, so that this book is wonderfully written and has complicated characters showing the whole range of the human condition comes as no surprise.
While not for the faint of heart this is a good gripping read.

This is DARK. It is not a romance. Pay attention to the warnings.

I'd been looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint. I actually wish I could read it again for the first time. My only complaint was the eight-ish year time jump. I would've liked to see one of the relationships(?) unfold on the page. I hope there's more.

Let me say first and foremost that my rating is completely subjective. This book is not for me. It’s not my thing, it’s not made for me, I don’t like it. That being said, I couldn’t put it DOWN. There was something about this that kept me coming back, and I’m not sure if it was fascination or just watching a train wreck where you can’t look away.

The book is not bad. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it as a book. But I’m more of a story-drives-sex guy and I need sex to be spread out so I don’t get jaded to it.

That is not what this book is. The scenes just go one after another like a horrifying trail of anal beads and they just get more debauched as time goes on. Did you think we weren’t going to go elbow-deep in a man’s ass? Welcome to The Endowment, bitches. Fasten your seatbelt and hold the fuck on.

The story follows Kendrick, a normal young man working as a stablehand for who I can only describe as Gaston but more rapey. Which we see immediately upon meeting him. In fact, fuck it, let’s call this Beauty and the Beast but if someone only knew the basic premise and replaced the rest with dick. A demon seeking more power in the dark realms decides Kendrick would make a great main character and turns him into the strangest rendition of an incubus I’ve ever seen, featuring thick drool that serves as this tale’s never-ending source of lube. Kendrick’s role is to gather energy by collecting his own jizz from the holes of his victims with the help of his servants, aka Rapey Gaston’s servants that have been possessed by other demons. And that is what we see for the rest of the entire story.

There’s a lot of rape. There’s a lot of creative use of butts. If you like that kind of thing, absolutely pick it up.

I do have two non-subjective complaints. There’s a character introduced that we are led to believe is much more important and could potentially be a love interest. We see him for like, three scenes and he doesn’t do much. The only other problem is that, despite this being a period piece, there’s an awful lot of modern slang and language that can sometimes take me out of the setting. But it’s overlooked easy enough.

So yeah. Crazy shit, and if that’s your thing, enjoy. Me... I’ll stick with my slow burns.

A world filled with demons, evil humans and succubus where no one is safe and everyone is there for the taking.
Kendrick has always been abused and the latest incident sends him over the edge and he makes a deal with a demon. As we all know nothing comes without a price and Kendrick learns this lesson the hard way. His story is a dark one and it hammers the idea that you should know what you are getting into before making rash decisions. Kendricks tale is full of demons and nasty humans alike as evil comes in all guises. There is dark erotica that is not always consensual as well, certainly not a fluffy read here. This is only the beginning of Kendrick's journey. Kendrick is out for revenge and when he is given the means to do it he takes the ball and runs with it. It was interesting to watch Kendrick grow and learn about himself and his abilities.

The story is well written and moves at a good pace. The author brings the world and its inhabitants to life as he pushes at your boundaries. This book is not for those looking for a happy ever after story. I have enjoyed other books by this author and this one was no exception.I was pulled in right from the start and am eager to return to this world and see just what will happen next.

This is a dark horror erotica that is M/M in nature but there are also scenes(not very descriptive) that include women. Read the content warnings and if any of those are your kinks then you'll be in for a treat. It is hard to find published books with these kinks which makes this stand out. Unfortunately for me, while I do appreciate erotica, I mainly like erotica that results in a romance. There is no fulfilling romance here. There was the suggestion of one but that has been snuffed out. If you only read romance(even dark romance), then you won't find much in the way of romance here.

This book is also the start of a series so the development that Kendrick goes through isn't likely to be done. I definitely look forward to any sequels that show him again because I'm a hopeless romantic that thinks even he could get an HEA. I also want to learn more about the demons because I thought that added an interesting dimension to the plot that could be further explored in later books.

I highly recommend this to people who think the darker the better.

Pay attention to the trigger warnings on this book! They are not kidding!

This is a very dark book that really does not try to redeem the darkness at all. Unapologetically. There is some struggle for the MC with reconciling his humanity with his new nature that brings in some connection and lightness, but that’s about it. Some dub-con but primarily non-con from the POV of the violator. If you just like the straight dark kinky/torture stuff, this is your jam!

Pros:
Well written, with enough story/plotting to carry the erotica/kink along.
Interesting to see the MC trying to figure out his new reality and how the author structures the world.
Creative use of kink and torture. Lots of kink and torture.
Saved for me as a reader by the particular reasoning behind the dub/non con.
Nascent relationships between the MC and his minions provide emotional connection.

Cons:
If you need some lightness to balance the dark you will not find that here.
Some editing errors (not too egregious).

I have read Meraki P Dark before, but somehow this book felt even darker and more cruel and depraved and I missed the glimpse of light / hope I always could find in the other stories.
On the one hand, it was a bit too much for me, some scenes just too dark and cruel and with no deeper meaning behind the cruelity (at least for me). But on the other hand the story was still fascinating and captivating and I just couldn't stop reading. Which is a really great accomplishment from the author :)
And so I will now read something achingly sweet and than brave the second book in this series ;)
Altogether 3.5 stars from me and a warning to thoroughly read the trigger warnings before starting with this book!

I can only assume that if you go for this book, you don't expect anything sweet to come out of it, which is true. It's very dark, it's deprived and it's inventive.
The consent happening here is few and far between and only after someone is broken until they are a compliant shell of what they were. And it's what you go in for, it's rape and abuse all built on the dealings of a cruel Lord.

And while it's all these things, it's still a story that holds you in place and gives room to enjoy how friendships and personalities evolve and at it's darkest, there is a lighter moment and after everything that had happened, it caused me to shed a few tears. The softness in between it all.

PLEASE check out the author's warnings before you even think about starting this enthralling start to a fascinating new series because they barely scratch the surface of what happens in the pages of this wild ride. Dark and very full of vengeance. Lots of non-con and punishment, with one quite gory one. Not recommended for people who are triggered by rape and violence.
I struggled with this one. I wanted to like it more than I did as I'd been in the mood for something dark. This satisfied on some level as there was some puppy play and comings/whippings. Also, lots of confinement and bondage/gagging.
However, it wasn't quite what I expected it to be with the demon possession, as the demon aspect wasn't as present as I'd expected from the description though it does feature at some points in the story.

This is a dark and disturbing read. Be warned, this is in way a romance. Rape, pain, humiliation, non-con.
Kendrick is a stable boy who is raped by his master, Sterling which in turn sets up the hate and revenge necessary for a demon to possess him and in turn bring more underlings to possess other humans and therefore set up a power base.
Kendrick ends up doing disgusting, vile things while slowly learning to enjoy it and trying to maintain some semblance of humanity.
Amazing world building and a great cast of side characters.

Twisty, dark, even cruel... it says it on the blurb. It is horror. And it feels that description perfectly. The story is interesting. It was very scary for me because of all the cruelty and deposit demons can unleash (but that was to be expected).
