I've been telling stories since I was 5. It's the only thing I ever wanted to do, thought I have done loads of other stuff. Call me distracted or just someone with a low boredom threshold. :)

I graduated as a chemical engineer from I.I.T Mumbai. After dabbling with advertising, journalism and event management, I worked in Mumbai's television and film industry as a writer and director.

Currently I run a creative collective – CrocTales. The company creates and works as Showrunner on web series and also does scripts for film and television. We have written shows for Alt Beqabu), Applause (Marry Me Stranger) and are creating shows for platforms like Jio, Arre, Hungama etc.

My debut novel Natasha Mehra Must Die is out in bookstores now. Someone is killing every girl and woman by the name of Natasha Mehra and unless the titular collegian heroine can figure who or what, she’ll be next.

I have directed films like - Money Devo Bhava, an edgy, youth movie about greed and consumerism and how it drives college kids to amoral activities and Detour, a wicked little thriller about lust, lies and cups of tea. I have also written films like Nazar, Kalyug and Buddha Mar Gaya

I have written, directed and created a variety of shows for Indian Television encompassing the genres of sitcoms, thrillers, kids shows, drama, telefilms and game shows - The Buddy Project, Sadda Haq, Kabhi Haan, Kabhi Naa, Miley Jab Hum Tum, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Jabb Love Hua, Guns and Roses, Izzat Ka Falooda (Won the ITA award for best mini Series), Lucky, Antariksh, Suvreen Guggal Topper of the Year, and many more.

I have a storytelling podcast ‘The Croc’s Tales’ which is available on Apple Podcasts, Saavn, Tune-in and other platforms.

I do live, interactive storytelling at venues like Hive, Social, Lil Flea etc.

I enjoy teaching. I do courses on TV and Film Production for mass media students at MET, Bandra and KC College, Dept. of Mass Media.. I've also conducting screenwriting and filmmaking workshops at several colleges, schools and for working adults as well.

I love baking and making Sangria. I love the sea and would love to be part fish. I'm clumsy as hell and my friends call me Po the Panda, minus the Kung Fu.

Don't ask me to sing unless you want the venue evacuated. :)

Thrillers always pull me in, especially when there are psychological elements involved. Ever since I managed to watch The Silence of The Lambs and read Gone Girl, I have always been enticed by psychopathic murderers. Is that strange?

Hence, when I came across Natasha Mehra must die I grabbed it with a desire of having more of my favourite genre. Everything seemed perfect. The title itself is a calling for a pure thriller reader - making you inquisitive about who is this Natasha Mehra who must die? Turns out, in a strange chain of events several girls and women are being killed, the only connection being their name : NATASHA MEHRA. So exciting right? The plot line had me sold. However, as I finished reading the book I was met with some disappointment since the book is not a pure thriller or mystery. It mingled another genre- which did not work out well for me because I had not anticipated this and found it a bit hard to wrap my thoughts around.

However, do not let that deter you from grabbing this book because it also has it's own share of impressive parts. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style and narration in the first half where despite dealing with different character POVs, Anand Sivakumaran manages to keep it clean and not confuse a reader. It is very difficult to do that in this scenario since all the women have the same name, so kudos to the success. His writing is suspenseful and yet simple - which makes this book a good pick even for beginners.

I probably would have liked this book better if I was ready for it and the twists were more convincing. Not to mention, the ending threw me in utter dismay- and as much as I can say without spoiling it is that it makes the whole book futile.

To conclude, grab this book if you want to read a different kind of a thriller and are ready for it.

Natasha Mehra Must Die or say, All Natasha Mehras Must Die as the killer does not know which Natasha is the actual one.

Confusing isn't it? Yeah! This story has been one heck of thriller mystery read of mine which honestly made me bite my nails.
The author has really kept up the climax so high that you actually yearn for the mystery to unveil asap.

The plot is super interesting as the confusion prevails most of the book. The confusion is because of which Natasha Mehra is being referred to at which point. But once accustomed to the book, you get this enthralling read!

Superb plot and storyline. Unique and fresh enough to give me goosebumps at the first place. Enthralling and captivating narration makes the story come live before your eyes.

Every page has so much rich words to make the story damn interesting. This read actually made me gasp. And that's not seen very often when we read murder mystery books.

Also, I noted this thing, that how some past historical thing can turn out to be so gruesome on the modern society.

Super happy with the book!

Natasha Mehra Must Die by Anand Sivakumaran is a crime thriller sent to me by Fingerprint Publishing.

What a title, isn’t it? I mean, straight away one would begin wondering, but why must she die? I initially thought the story would have another serial killer on the loose, with a weird lust to kill, but towards the end, it was a more complex plot than expected.

So without wasting any time, let me get down to the review.

Summary

Natasha Mehra – Student, loner and unpopular. When she discovers that someone is killing women of the same name as hers, she naturally takes to caution and tries to warn the remaining of them. What transpires is a roller coaster ride which changes the course of a boring student’s life. What she doesn’t envision yet is the intricate web of calculated moves that are being played right at that precise moment.

What I Liked

I really enjoyed the book. The reader travels with rapt attention as the crimes unfold and are taken in completely by the simplicity of the author’s words. The narrative is superbly executed, language delivery being top notch.

The plot seems like a regular one but as the reader advances towards the climax, it is then that the true intention is realised. With loads of adrenaline, this book is exceptionally intriguing.

What I Did Not Like

Ok, so here it is. I liked the book but I thought the climax could have been better. In my opinion, the reasoning behind the killings lacked conviction. It probably could be saved by more details and build up in the upcoming books.

Also, FYI, the story includes a few gory details, didn’t bother me much though.

Other Details

Natasha Mehra Must Die is the first book in the Doomsday Trilogy by author, Anand Sivakumaran.

Would I Recommend It?

Yes! The book is a heady mix of suspense and thrill that can be finished in one sitting. I eagerly await the next book to know what the author has in store for us.

Natasha Mehra Must Die by Anand Sivakumaran is the first book of The Doomsday Trilogy. With a great combination of the elements of mystery, thrill and Indian mythology, the book takes you to a sensational reading ride. The pace of the plot is so fast that you will not stop reading until the last page. The fast-paced plot will make your heart race and your pulses jump. There are enough elements of the thrill to grip the readers in the gut. Readers will gasp for breaths at times. This book is a brilliant beginning of a new series. And, now, I cannot wait for the next part of the series.

As the title of the book suggests, the book revolves around a girl named Natasha Mehra. The life of this girl turns upside down when she accidentally comes to know that every woman, girl, and child named Natasha Mehra are getting killed one by one. What Natasha does not know is that these murders are pre-planned acts hatched by an all-powerful secret organisation. There is a definite purpose behind these killings. This is the central plot and revealing anything further may be an act of spoiler. And, I do not want to spoil this book. I want you to go and pick up this book. So, if you want to know the purpose behind these killings, start reading the book.

The book has a wonderful cast of characters. These characters are interesting, engaging and carry the story forward. Backstories of different characters have been done in an attention-grabbing manner and force the reader to dip in the story further.

The author has a unique writing style. He has used metaphors at a number of places to make the writing more interesting. While the book can easily be placed in the category of a gripping thriller, elements of humour have also been sprinkled at a number of places. These elements quite often bring the smile on your face. Almost all of the scenes in the book are well-written and readers experience the emotions of the scenes. Each scene reveals something new, and each scene has something to do with the main storyline. There is no stuff that has nothing to do with the central plot. A number of chapters in this book start with a scene right in the action and the reader finds himself into the middle of an action scene right away.

The cover of this book is eye-catching and forces readers to take note of this book. The cover perfectly portrays the central theme of this book. Both the title and the blurb are also appealing and, in fact, were main reasons I picked up this book. The book ends on a high note. The climax is satisfactory but leaves good enough questions that will keep readers guessing. The book is a thin one and you can finish it at one sitting. However, after reaching the end, you feel that some more pages could have been added to the book. The book definitely deserved a few more pages. Hopefully, the second volume of the series will be thicker than this slim volume.

It can be clearly see that it is a debut novel.
He unnecessarily chooses such though words in many places which can easily be replaced from their synonyms making it easier to new readers. The plot is just tried to be written from a small scale to a very larger scale which is impossible to connect with. I thought it would be a light thriller but no it is not. It feels like there are two authors one for the first half, another from second and just someone tried to combine two different stories. I don't know why the author decided to connect it to mythology after a period of time. It's non digestible...

Natasha Mehra, the protagonist is living an adventure-free life where she doesn’t have any friends and no one likes to give any attention to her. She hates her name more because people call her ‘Nuts’, not ‘Nats’.

On the other side, girl and women named as Natasha Mehra are being brutally killed by someone. Age is no bar for the killer and he just wants to finish all the women who have the unfortunate name of ‘Natasha Mehra’.

One day, while reading a newspaper, Natasha reads the news report of an elderly woman’s murder. A few days ago, she has read another news report of a murder, where the name of the victim was Natasha Mehra.

Afraid, she puts everything together and comes to the conclusion that there is a psycho killer who is on a spree of killing all the Natasha Mehras. She manages to get in touch with the famous reporter Natasha Mehra and both try hard to save themselves and the other Natashas.

However, the things don’t go according to plan and now Natasha is holding her life and trying to find the reason behind these murders.

Soon, things take an ugly turn when she finds out that this killing is not a serial killer thing but it is a planned conspiracy. The mastermind behind this is a secret organization Kul, which is spread around the world. These killings are a 2000-year-old mission, whose success or failure will determine the humankind.

What is this secret mission? Will Natasha be able to save her life? Why are the women with this name losing their life? What is the secret agenda behind all these events? Read this fast-paced book to know the answers.

Writing style:

The author writes with a unique style, which will keep the readers entertained throughout the book. Metaphor and simile are wisely used by the author. With all these things, the narration is super smooth and one hardly needs two to three sittings to finish this book.

My perception:

I enjoyed this book and loved the author’s intelligent writing. I love reading crime fiction and this book is a good mixture of crime, thriller, suspense and a great twist. The concept of Kul organization grabbed my attention and made me think whether there can be such an organisation in reality that would want to fight against destiny? The mystery unfolds slowly and takes the readers to the conclusion. The author has worked on various films and serials and the readers can witness great storytelling, which will take them to visualize. The book ends on an interesting note and I am eager to know the future fight between the sole survivor Natasha and Kul.

101% entertaining, this book will hold you till the last. Crime and thriller lovers, add this book to your wish list. Recommend reading!

To begin with the positives of the book, it is Anand Sivakumaran's writing style. The accuracy of a teenager's thoughts right at the beginning of the story gets the reader hooked. Further all a thriller needs is very crisp writing and he gives the reader just that. The book is fast paced and impossible to put down once you start.

The only negative I found was that there were spelling errors and one part of the plot I wish were different, however its just my personal choice as a reader. Someone else might enjoy it (not revealing it as that would be a huge spoiler).

Beware if you pick it up at night, you wont be able to sleep. I read it in one sitting. Eagerly waiting for part two.

Starting from the title itself , the book starts to create interest in your #mind. It captures your attention from the very first page creating an aura of #mystery and #suspense.
_________
This #book comes from the #author who was a major part of one of the most popular TV serials - Jassi Jaisi koi nahi and Popularly known #movies like Kalyug and Nazar.
___________
Someone is on a #murder spree . Age is not a matter nor any background , just nothing . But the only thing that works as a connecting thread between these gruesome killings is their name - NATASHA.
Natasha Mehra being a very unpopular #girl on the campus never really had any idea her #life will start getting huge ripples of fearful incidents and she would ever have to safe herself from getting butchered like the 7 year old , 72 year and 14 year old went through horrendous death.
It is not something randomly done , but the acts date back to a part of 2000 year conspiracy mission.Interesting, isn't it ?
You need to read it to fully understand what actually lies in the story, how the suspenses unfold and how twists are sprinkled inside each chapter designing this #crime thriller into a capturing tale.
The cover matches the story so well with female faces dripped with blood.I donot really read much of crime thrillers. But once in a while when read , It is obvious I prefer some #good ones. This book didnot waste my #time , rather it made my #read a very enjoyable one.My mind got engaged into those constant twists and turns, full of suspense and mystery , making this very well narrated story a page turner.
The #best thing I noticed is the vast range of words that collectively #decorate each page providing the exact moments in that part of the story with the needed depth. It may be a bit difficult for #beginners but if you want to enrich your word stock, you must check this book that will also quench your mind's thirst if you are a #thriller suspense lover.
I will #recommend this book to all readers.

What seemed to be a typical glitzy tale of Bollywood turned out to be a gripping thriller clutched in the tentacles of a giant conspiracy to stop the end of ..... World!

Our protagonist Natasha hates her name but would have never imagined it being her nemesis. It is this Natasha Mehra, the name, that is responsible for so many corpses stacking one against the other all over the world. And why so? The answer lies here. The action-packed story starts off with full force. Actually, the story didn't captivate me initially, but a very energetic narration which swept me off my feet. I find it in books rarely and I am glad that this book lifted my spirits. The story proceeds with another character Appu coming into the picture who is a serial killer. It was bewildering to read through her demonic ways of laying people to rest for eternity. Through the tumultuous ways of life and terrifying revelations, the pace of the book skyrockets and we feel the adrenaline rush within us. The two women meet, the assassin and the prey, and together they embark on a journey to defend all the Natashas. What took me off-guard was the climax which unveiled the mystery behind the highest power interested in wiping out all the Natasha Mehras from the world.

It was absolutely a fantastic ride with this book which had a perfect blend of language and narration. No wonder it was a page-turner for me. A short book of around 200 pages had all the dark shades mixed with blood, flesh, and gore and my heart was pumping at the scene of monstrosity spread in the pages. There is the character of Natasha which won my adulation and there was Appu's which stunned me. Together, their camaraderie brought failure to Kul's master plan. And the most striking feature is the suspense which uncovers on the last page - the real face of the wanted Natasha Mehra! What an amazing development the book continues along with jaw-dropping thriller.

I am definitely recommending it to any thriller reader.

All girls called Natasha Mehra are being killed by unknown killers. A girl called Natasha Mehra wows to solve the mystery to protect herself and others. This is how the book starts. Thinking it to be a serial murder mystery I persisted.
Half way through the story degenerated and the book became unreadable. Some mythology was thrown in to explain the murders. Made no sense.
Highly avoidable book. The two stars are only for the first 50--60 pages.

Natasha Mehra Must Die by Anand Sivakumaran is the first book of the Doomsday Trilogy. It is a meticulously written novel filled to the brim with a heart throbbing roller coaster of emotions at each and every instance! It is a breathtaking book integrated with scattered episodes of thrill, mystery, and action. Every solitary page has its own lustre and own emotions which never seemed to disappoint me throughout the book

As the title of the book suggests, the book is sculptured around a girl named Natasha Mehra, who always had a hatred for her own name. She was already going through a lot in her life when she fortuitously comes to know that every woman, a girl, or a child, named Natasha Mehra was getting killed one by one, even worsening her situation. What Natasha is unaware of, is the fact that these murders are not any random acts of madness, but are the part of the pre-planned acts which were hatched by the all-powerful, confidential organization, the Kul. The Kul tends to possess definite purpose behind these slaughters.

The story mostly revolves around the occurrences in Natasha’s life, which, most of the times, resulted in near death situations and also supported extensively to craft Natasha’s character to a whole new level.

The language is a bit complex, which would not make it ideal for fresh readers. The plot and the story-line, on the other hand, were always outstanding and it never made the story turn monotonous. The pace of the story is ideal and it guarantees uninterrupted attention of the reader.

The attention-to-detail is always witnessed with every page flipped. The description of characters, places, situations, and the whole emotional rollercoaster is astounding! All the emotional outbursts and the decisions pursued by the characters are also very realistic. The language of the conversations between characters is very colloquial and easily relatable to real life situations.

Points which made this title lose a star:

The language made it difficult to understand the exact situation.
It was an onerous job to grip the actual story in the initial stage.
The climax of the story is its best element, and honestly, I completed the last fifty pages of this book without taking any interval! It was heart-throbbing, perplexing, and also managed to invoke thousands of questions in my mind.

The end is very far from predictable, and sadly (or not) it ends on a cliffhanger.

Overall, it was breathtaking, but definitely, not a light read.

I would recommend this book to the fanatics of thriller and mystery, but it is definitely not appropriate for amateur readers.

This book successfully managed to amaze me in every aspect. I am really looking forward to reading the succeeding title in the series!

Why only Natasha Mehra?
I was also having the same question in my mind, the moment I had the first glimpse of this book. Well, must say a nice way of creating curiosity in the mind of the reader. And to be really honest this book left no stone unturned to maintain the same hype till the end.
“Natasha Mehra Must Die”, is the first part of Doomsday Trilogy by, Anand Sivakumaran, an acclaimed director of many Hindi TV serials. The cover of the book is very intriguing and enthralling. The cover creates a stir in the mind of the reader, as to, what is going to happen next…
The book is slow in the beginning and was quite difficult to get grip but, a little patience and you will not be disappointed at all. The book revolves around Natasha Mehra, the most unpopular girl on campus, discovers, someone is slaughtering every women, girl and child named natasha Mehra. Though she always hated her name she could never have believed that this could be the reason, she could be running from a gruesome death. These are not some random murders but a strategic killing by a secret organization, named Kul. There, they hire a woman named, Appu but she helps Natasha to save her life. So, it is basically a very good book with a rich vocabulary.
I enjoyed the fact that the characters and murders of the book are linked to Hindu mythology in a very unique way. The language may become bit complex as some readers may find difficulty in grasping the meaning of the sentence and story. This story is a great portmanteau of everything, from humor when you are least expecting, emotions that are bare and real to horror and ghastly murders.
Book can be completed in a single sitting as it is very fascinating, also one will have a hard time soaking the ending of the story, which is very unpredictable. The writing style of the author is meritorious and I will be eagerly waiting for its other parts.
I want a movie to be based entirely on this novel covering all the three parts of it, so that even the non-readers can enjoy this amazing book as it will keep everyone on their toes. A must-read book. Highly recommended to all the lovers of suspense, mystery and crime-thriller novels.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOK I HAVE READ BY AN INDIAN AUTHOR.

I received this book as a review copy in exchange for an honest review.

The novel is intriguing and keeps you on the edge of whatever furniture you are on. Extremely well-written and plotted.

The story basically revolves around a girl named Natasha Mehra, who is a college girl. She never had any friend and hated her name.

A killer is on the loose killing every Natasha Mehras, no matter what age. Just as another day, Natasha Mehra was travelling to her college when her eyes fell onto the news that a woman by the same name had been killed. Later on she figured that it was not just a coincidence, it's a trail.

It was the work of a secret organisation, Kul, whose motives are two millennia old.

Brilliant work done by the author to connect the killings with the Hindu Mythology. The novel is in true sense a mystery/thriller.

It gave me the same feeling I had after reading "The Millennium series" by Stieg Larsson. The main reason? Powerful female protagonist. The novel is an absolute page turner, character development was top notch, an action packed experience.

Although the language is quite complex for a beginner. Some parts of the story is a bit confusing and takes 2-3 re-reads to grasp. The story starts off slow and hard to connect but as it goes on,( given you don't lose patience) the story takes the right pace with all the right events to happen to make it a phenomenal piece of work.

The story has all the elements of a thriller novel. I has majorly shed light on women power. It's enthralling to read women performing action scenes and killing off bad guys which usually are done by males but this is no other cliché story. The ending is just what it needed, making the readers wanting for more.

Lastly, the title and cover of the book gave true justice to the plot of the novel, without giving away much.

The best thing is that it's a TRILOGY. There will two more to come and I am eagerly waiting for them to be released already.

The series has definitely earned a fan.

The very 1st word that comes to my mind when I finally complete reading the 1st book of this trilogy is ‘whoa!!’
Buckle your seat belts and join Natasha Mehra as she stumbles upon a fate so extraordinary that there’s definitely no looking back, what’s the key word to this tale you ask?
Expect the unexpected
Let’s start with what’s unique about this tale, the very 1st thing that impressed me in this particular book is it’s rich vocabulary, I am the kind of girl who loves to learn a few new words while enjoying a good read, this one delivers in word power for me, another factor that seals the deal for me are the interlude chapters that the writer cleverly uses to convey us the readers information that is still unknown to our lead.
Coming to the story itself , it gives me a kind of Dan Brown vibe, not the writing per say but the fact that it connects present day events with something mythological and something that seems so ordinary yet blows your mind as it slowly unveils , you get easily invested in the lives of all the Natasha Mehras and their extraordinary fate , one thing I ‘d like to point out is the fact that this book is not for the faint hearts , because the writer goes out of his way to make sure the entire journey is a mixture of everything humour when you least expect it, emotions which are raw and real, a slice of life and violence that easily ranges from hardcore to gruesome in no time. The detailing of the story gives you a realistic feel, like you are sitting right beside our heroine and witnessing it all 1st hand.
Memorable characters,
A well executed mythological backing ,
And an organisation with no moral compass whatsoever!!
I don’t want to spoil the book because I want you to actually grab the book and experience the author’s master stroke vision come to life, a must read if you are a fan of a mythological Thriller #bookreview #natashamehramustdie #anandsivakumaran #mythologicalthriller #bookbosomedrads

📚Natasha Mehra Must Die By Anand Sivakumaran📚
📚Genre: Crime thriller
📚Publisher: Fingerprint
.
Plot: A 14-year-old girl is butchered in a high school shooting. A 72-year-old woman is throttled at home. A 7-year-old child is crushed into the concrete by a trash dumper. The only thing common between all of them: Their name.
Someone is slaughtering every woman, girl and child named Natasha Mehra.
But these murders aren’t random acts of madness. Rather, they are part of a conspiracy hatched by the Kul, an all-powerful secret organisation with tentacles everywhere.
.
My Opinion: I never leave thriller & when it comes to crime thriller then no chance. But, to be very frank I am not much into Indian authors who write crime thrillers, they are very repeatative but fortunately I found a good crime thriller by an Indian author. The book has an amazing blurb, how cool is the concept of name sake & every women of the particular name is suddenly goes missing. Well, I had read books of serious serial killers & some missing case solving but trust me this is something different, starting from the concept used itself! The book is quite unique with an amazing plot line which is the backbone of crime thrillers. The author makes you visits alot of places in order to search the hidden answers & the book was gripping at times. Taking about the cover it's really worthy because the concept exactly matches it.
.
Pros: Crime thrillers are supposed to be lengthy but the book proves that it is not necessary. The language is really simple. The book can be completed in a single sitting. Very nutritive at times & hilarious at places. Definitely the plot is good & unpredictable at times. Even beginners can pick it up. I do recommend it as a recently good thriller discovered, also waiting for the next book in the series.
Cons: The chill in spine thing was missing, more focus on narration needed.

Good For A Flight

Anand Sivakumaran’s Natasha Mehra Must Die takes a couple of hours to read, so in that sense, it makes for a perfect short read to while away your time as you wait to board a short, domestic flight.

So, if you are looking for a quick read, do pick up a copy of Natasha Mehra Must Die, but don’t expect its protagonist who goes by the name of Natasha Mehra and who teams up with a journalist, to track the killer, to compete with the likes of a Jack Reacher or Kinsey Millhone murder thriller, where you just can’t wait to turn the pages to find out who’s behind the sordid killings. Yes, killings there are, aplenty in Natasha Mehra Must Die. The brief to the hired killer is to wipe out all Natasha Mehras from the face of Mumbai.

But as Indian thrillers go, this isn’t bad, although the language could be racier and simpler. It’s the kind of book that Anand Sivakumaran, the author has written, perhaps with a thesaurus by his side in a bid to throw in words to impress his reader. But, alas, who has the time to ‘obfuscate’ their reading experience in this quick, digital age? What I, as a reader would rather have, is simple, plain and crisp English but with some imaginative turn-of-phrases and some quirky expressions, thrown in. I certainly don’t want to look up strange words in my wordweb app, while I am reading a contemporary book. You get my point, nah?

The book has all of Mumbai’s Natasha Mehras being hunted down by a ruthless hired killer whose brief is to get rid of all girls and women by the said name in the metropolis. So, our heroine, a college girl has to understandably run to save her life.

And why are all Natasha Mehras being targeted? That is, of course, what the book is all about in the first place, so I won’t give the game away.

I would give the book 3.75 stars.

🕵️‍♂️Hola bookstagrammers! How about a book that hooks you from the start, is fast-paced and scary, and has plenty of ghastly crimes in it?
--
🕵️‍♂️ The story starts with one Natasha Mehra, the protagonist, who lives an adventure-free life, has no friends, and no attention from others, especially guys. She hates her name the most because people call her 'Nuts' and not 'Nats'!
--
🕵️‍♂️On the other side of the story, every child, girl, and woman named Natasha Mehra is slaughtered ruthlessly and the only connection between them is their name. Though our protagonist hates her name, she would've never imagined it to be the reason she would've to die for! Who's the brain behind this dastardly mission? Why is the killer killing only Natasha Mehras? Will our protagonist survive?
--
🕵️‍♂️ What a title the author has chosen for his book one of the Doomsday trilogies! One might wonder why must Natasha Mehra die or rather which Natasha Mehra should die. Confusing isn't it? Once you get accustomed to the story, you'll know which Natasha Mehra is being referred to. The author has weaved a super interesting plot, with a fresh and unique storyline that gives goosebumps and makes the story come alive throughout the book. There are several tough words used and it's better to have a dictionary beside. The book cover aptly depicts the inside story and its characters.
--
🕵️‍♂️ This book is a brilliant start to the series and now I cannot wait for the upcoming ones. I initially thought this was a story about some serial killer on the run, but the author has weaved a stunningly thrilling narrative with an unbelievable climax that you'll want to know as soon as you start reading it. I recommend this book to everyone who loves a well-written, page-turning mystery thriller!

I picked up this book because of its cover and intriguing title. Both are eye-catchy and different. Natasha Mehra must die is the first book in The Doomsday Trilogy. The protagonist of the story Natasha is a college going young girl who hates her name. But never in her wildest dream had she thought that it would be the reason she would be on the run from a gruesome death. .
.
It is Natasha Mehra, the name, that is responsible for so many corpses stacking one against the other all over the world. And why so? There is a huge secret behind all these murders. These murders aren't random acts of madness, they are a part of a conspiracy hatched by Kul, an all powerful secret organisation with tentacles everywhere. I absolutely loved the part where Natasha figures out the link between all these deaths! .
.
The beginning of the story is a bit slow and not very interesting, but within 3-4 chapters, the pace of the story, the narrations and the twist in the plot will blow your mind!! After the introduction of Appu, the serial killer, who is responsible for the death of all these women, the book becomes more quirky and scary.
But it's also fascinating to see how Appu and Natasha escape the clutches of the Kul. Why Appu switches sides? Why and how does she help Natasha? So many questions arise while reading this book and to get all your answers you MUST definitely read it?!
And only in the end, do we realise the story has just begun! 💥😉
.
.
.
Absolutely gripping and captivating narrations, this book is a perfect blend of thrill and mystery with a touch of mythology.
.
.
.
I definitely recommend this page turner to all mystery and thriller lovers.
Cannot wait for the next two books in the series!!!

Because of her name she had become a loner and cursed her name. Adding more to her misery... she finds out that a series of murders have taken place with one common trait among all of them.. the name of the victims "Natasha Mehra".
.
🔰She starts hunting for the reason behind this and managed to accompany her another Natasha Mehra who was a popular journalist. They began to track mora Natasha Mehra's to move ahead in their investigation.
.
🔰As they proceeded.. a series of mysteries started getting unfolded. All these murders were not connected to just one serial killer but it had the involvement of a powerful organisation "Kul" with a secretive motive.
.

Book: Natasha Mehra must Die
Author: Anand Sivakumaran
Genre: psychological thriller
Rating: 3/5
🩸👓
LET'S TALK ABOUT THE STORYLINE:
A 14-year-old girl, a 72-year-old woman, and a 7-year-old child is murdered. ( Murders are command, so what is so special about these murders 🤔??) all the victims are of the same name, Natasha Mehra. Someone is killing every woman one by one having the name Natasha Mehra. (but why🥺??). Read the novel for it, I don't want to give spoilers here🤫.
The story is seen by the point of view of a college-going, not so popular girl Natasha Mehra (again😑).
🩸👓
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Expect a book full of vocabulary on each page. Expect a book with a unique storyline. And finally, Expect a book with a good climax.
🩸👓
WHO CAN READ?
If you like musing your mind a bit 😵 and if you are good at vocabulary (oh my God so many complicated words!!). Then go for it!!
🩸👓
WHAT I LIKE?
The book has a wonderful cast of characters. The author has a unique writing style. The use of metaphors and phrases increased my wish to read it more. Each scene was new, each murder was different.
🩸👓
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER?
The book lacks a fast pace which is often expected in thrillers and mysteries. Turning the protagonist, again and again, confuses the reader🤨. The language used was a bit difficult. I have to search for words on google often.
🩸👓
WHAT ABOUT CHARACTERS?
characters are interesting coming from different backgrounds and having a different impact on readers👩‍💻.
🩸👓
IS THE CLIMAX GOOD ENOUGH?
The climax of the book is bittersweet. The climax manages to give a befitting end to the story. I appreciate the intricacies of the mystery conclusion.
🩸👓
TO READ OR NOT TO READ
Decide it for yourself 😂😂.

••••BOOK REVIEW••••
Natasha Mehra Must Die By Anand Sivakumaran

#blurb : A serial killing of various women is on the go..the thing common in all these women is their name Natasha Mehra.Someone is slaughtering every woman, girl and child named Natasha Mehra. Which is what Natasha Mehra, the most unpopular girl on campus, discovers. Though she’s always hated her name, she would’ve never imagined that it would be the reason she would be on the run from a gruesome death.
But these murders aren’t random acts of madness. Rather, they are part of a conspiracy hatched by the Kul, an all-powerful secret organisation with tentacles everywhere. And the success or failure of this 2000-year-old mission will determine the future of humankind . . .

#WRITING_N_NARRATION : writing style is pretty understandable and lucid. As it is the first book in this murder mystery trilogy...so the pace of narration is quite slow and steady...not too hustle. I liked the pace and narration...it kept me on the edges to know more!

#CHARACTERS : It is a plot driven novel but also imbibe some strong characters in it. Kul's character quite intrigued me...but their was not any evident character development shown...as it is only the start of a trilogy. Character build up will happen in next two novels.

#MY_VIEWS : I love the cover as it perfectly goes with the story within. Though it is my second murder mystery read, I quite enjoyed this genre. I love the Mythological quotient in it. The book was captivating, gripping and un-put-downable. Great effort for a first book by the author. Eager to read the other two books!

Are you looking out for a toe curling, nerve-wracking read?
Well then this post is for you.
TITLE: NATASHA MEHRA MUST DIE
AUTHOR: ANAND SIVAKUMAR
OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

I had a fairly good time reading this book.
The concept of serial killers is executed quite well.
The writing style was good, there is a good use of vocabulary done in this book so if you're looking for books to enrich your vocabulary go for this one.

The narration too was done quite well.
The scenes the places and the array of characters  were well developed.
The character development was good, I could connect with the protagonist well.
But i feel that the story being focused around the murders of the girls with the name of natasha mehra, had a really confusing setting.
I couldn't always understand about which natasha mehra is the chapter focusing on now or on which natasha mehra is the attack being done now. I had to keep my self away from all distractions while reading this book, I had to keep flipping back  to the previous pages to keep up with the scenes.
The cover and the title are appropriately keeping in mind the interest and curiosity of a reader.
The storyline was indeed a thoughtful one. The plot though good, required improvements.
Overall, this was a faced paced  thrilling read which was unputdownable. I'm eagerly awaited for the next books in this trilogy.
MY RATING: 3.9/5🌟

Someone is trying to wipe out all Natasha Mehra’s in and around the world. The female protagonist in this book called Natasha hates her name. Growing up wasn’t a smooth ride for our little Natasha. Everyone has a pet name which we wouldn’t have the liberty to choose, and our Natasha was called “Nuts”.Eventually, this had lead to many embarrassing moments in her life. However, Natasha had never thought that her name would be the only reason for her to face the fury of death.

Natasha and all her namesake try to save themselves from the hands of a secret organisation called Kul who is hell-bent on killing them. The Kul has no choice but to kill all the Natashas to save humankind.

As a person who loves to read a thriller, this book wasn’t a let down for me. Natasha Mehra Must Die, the first book of the doomsday Trilogy made sure to keep me on the toes till the last page. It was a crazy ride with this book which had action, mystery, and thriller. The narration and character development are impeccable. My favourite character in the book is Appu in the form of a serial killer. Appu’s brutal nature and her frantic ways of putting Kul to an end is something to look forward to. What completely astonished me was the climax and the answer to our question why all the Natashas had to die.

A simple book with 200 pages which you can read on a weekend. I am holding my breath for the next book. I would definitely recommend this book to all who loves to read a crime thriller.

Everyone who knows me, knows, I love a good thriller. A overwhelming read indeed. 🕯️ Looking at the cover, I was excited ( As a reader of a good true grit crime), it felt like the perfect choice for a hell of a week! 😌 🔦
Natasha Mehra Must Die by @anandsivakumaran_storyteller is the first in the series of DoomsDay Trilogy 🥂
The story is ...Someone is slaughtering every woman, girl and child named Natasha Mehra . . and thereby starts a tale which is chilling, never abrupt and with each page, the built up keeps slaying surprises after surprises! It's not a cop-killer or your-matter-of-fact mystery, there's history, logic, characters which feel too real and a story to sweep you away at all the right moments. I loved the synchrony. The sentences are empowered with research and whatever I predicted ( having read some really good thrillers, you start guessing and smart-assing) was exactly what never happened. A book to keep you on your toes and your reading 👓 on till you have sweated off the last page in a nail biting undertone of a mystery like no other.
I want to see a movie made on this book. That had be really interesting. Plus can't hold my breath for the other books to come out! 😅😊🌠

Natasha Mehra must die is the first book of the Doomsday Triology written by author Mr. Anand Shivkumaran. It is a crime mystery thriller and is the first published novel of the author too.⁣

The plot of the story is masterfully crafted and very well narrated. The characterisation of all the characters is just excellent especially that of Kul's. The author has used apt and potent words throughout the story though the language is a bit complex so some readers may find some difficulty in understanding the meaning of few words. The story is a bit slow in the beginning but as it progresses its tight grip will keep you hooked till the end. It is equally intresting and fascinating to read the time to time twists and turns in it. The way the author has connected the plot with that of hindu mythology brings a new thrill in the reading experience of the readers. The ending of the story is totally unpredictable and it leave the readers mind to think of the different possible events afterwards. The writting style of the author is highly commendable here and i look forward to read the next two parts of the story.⁣

Highly recommended for all the mystery and crime thriller lovers!⁣

This book is mystery/thriller novel where in every girl named Natasha mehra is being killed. So, our main character, Natasha, who has always hated her name, connect the dots between all the recent murders. What happens next?
.
Being not so much aware of this genre made me enjoy this book so much more. I was kind of putting it off in the beginning but I did take my sweet I'm reading it and it was definitely worth it.
.
My most favourite thing about this book was the unexpected plot twist which I did not even see it coming... This book is also a part of a trilogy called the Doomsday trilogy.💕
.
This book is definitely not for new readers as it does contain some complicated usage of language. This was actually so knowledgeable because I just want to learn about so many words and the best thing was I enjoyed reading it.😍
.
As it was a mystery, I kind of expected it not to have much character development but I guess that that make up for the story.😁
.
I recommend this book to all the people who love mystery or thriller books. Definitely not for readers who are looking for books with easy language.🙈

"Natasha Mehra must die" is a murder mystery thriller with a surprise elements of a new genre intact to it. Does that surprise makes it a awesome read about which you won't stop gushing or a okay sort of a read? Because the answer is hugely gonna depend on your readingbuds. Well in my case I needed litle more convincing with facts and I wasn't able to make my peace with the twist. In short my reading buds weren't satisfied.
The story is fast pace with a well executed plot. The character development is quite good with strong female protagonists. The writing style was captivating and bery engaging to read. Despite being so many Natasha Mehra's in the book, there wasn't a single moment I felt confused or irritated because the representation of every character is very thoughtfully expressed which is lacked by alot of writers. The book is nicely divided into short chapter's and interludes which is great for inpatient and beginner level readers. Also, the action packed scenes were quite a page-turners and the the amazing discription of the journalist's character was one hell of a Happy experience for me.
I'll eagerly wait for the next part to be published . I recommend it.

When Natasha Mehra , the main protagonist of Anand Sivakumaran’s debut novel Natasha Mehra must die, finds out that other women bearing her name are dying under mysterious circumstances, she beings to investigate. The result is a thriller that has you on the edge of your seats, while a conspiracy as old as history comes to light.

The blistering pace of the book gives you no time to breathe, and you are carried away with the story, and the journey of a heroine.

Anand’s language is fluid, and his visualisations are lucid. His characters are well etched, and make you care for them.

I read the book in one sitting, as it raced from the boring suburban trains of Mumbai, to those who control the seats of power. And, an organisation so mysterious, and so in the shadows, it makes the Mafia seem like a bunch of publicly performing pole dancers

The book is the first of a trilogy, am eagerly awaiting the second part.
