Meet Hilary Watts: pretty, straight A-student, teachers’ pet, goody two-shoes, totally has it all together—and has never been kissed, or even had a boyfriend for that matter.

Meet Grayson Dymicks: badarse persona, new guy in school, just moved in next door, volatile—and a total jerk.

When Hilary finds herself attracted to the very person she shouldn’t be, she never imagines all her well-placed Jenga blocks will come crashing down—or that her first ever kiss will be with a boy every girl in school wants for themselves.

Hilary’s life is turned upside down and she realises she’s not as put together as she thought. Instead, she’s as totally messed up as all the other teenage girls her age—but is this a romance destined for a happily ever after or a broken heart?

If you love Beth Reekles and John Green, then you will adore Miss Not Together!

If this is Belle’s toe being dipped into the YA genre then someone throw her in! She fits seamlessly

Miss Bot Together is a cute story about Hilary who might just be the most focused, most driven most determined young woman I’ve ever read. With her heart set on becoming the Prime Minster, everything she does is a carefully measured step towards achieving her lofty goal.

Right up until the moment Grayson moves in next door.

It was almost comical and really heartwarming to see Brooks drag the humanity out of such a driven individual and all by throwing in those pesky teenage hormones that we all remember too well (no matter how much we try to forget them)

I hope Belle continues to write stories in this genre as her insight and emotional sensitivity showcase her incredible talent.

Didn't hold my interest. The book was way too out there. Boobs growing because she was kissed for the 1st time? That was ridiculous then she cries because they hurt, and her daddy comes to the rescue. Yeah I was over the book after that. I was really looking forward to this book too

The ordinary made extraordinary....

I really loved this young adult story..about Hilary a smart girl next door type who really has got it together. Hilary and her best friend, Freddy, (Everybody needs a Freddy in their lives) are ambitious and nothing is going to stop them achieving their goals until that is Grayson walks into the school and from that point on Hilary’s best laid plans begin to take a backseat...

Told from Hilary’s perspective this is a funny, bittersweet coming of age story... on the surface it is about a clever but slightly hapless girl who draws the attention, and not necessarily in a good way, of the gorgeous new boy... but underneath there are so many hidden threads about love, loss, ambition and sacrifice.

The angst and trauma of growing up and facing reality is wonderfully described by this skilled author... and I was completely captivated by the characters; in summary this is an everyday tale about an everyday young woman whose life story is every bit as unique and extraordinary as the lives we all live... I received an advanced copy of this book from the author

"You're like a sheet of thin glass, Hilary - transparent and easily breakable. You just don't know it yet."

Miss Not Together is a funny, promising little novella. It made me smile a lot and I love the way Belle Brooks reminds us of how it feels like going through this teenage-phase becoming slowly an adult. However, like my issue with almost every novella, I wished for more insights on certain levels. But overall the writing and the pace of the story fits here perfectly.

"Don't argue. It's annoying." "Like you," I teased. "I've got nothing on you, Miss Goody Two Shoes turned rebel child."

I really like Hilary. She's a quirky teenager with a firm mindset on her future and works hard for it. Belle Brooks did a lovely job creating her character. If you follow this author around her social networks, you know what a quirky funny person she is. So I can't shake the impression she put some of herself into Hilary.

Grayson, the new neighbor, the bad boy, the jerk. The perfect counterpart to Hilary's Goody Two Shoes lifestyle. He worms his way into her heart, helping her to open up to life, to let loose a little, to take a deep breath and that giving love a chance is worth the risk.

"He's not the right boy for a girl like me, and I'm not the right girl for a boy like him. How could we be?

If you are looking for a quick and funny distraction from real life, if you want a ride back into your teenage years, getting a reminder of how it feels being drunk for the first time and being drunk of love for the very first time, Miss Not Together is totally the book you should go for!

I felt like this book was written in somewhat of a hurry. I feel like the characters weren't given the chance to have a detailed history or growth.

While I was invested in to story, it was mainly because of the author’s writing style rather than the story itself. It felt a it hurried and rushed; one minute something is going on and the next we’re at a different scene. I felt that there was some chunks missing from the story.

Hilary is a sweet, lovable character but at the same tome, she’s too argumentative and I found that quite off-putting cause, to me, I didn’t feel that that fit her personality at all. Grayson was harder to get invested in. Although I like the characters to have a bit of mystery, I found his was lacking in something. The characters all felt a bit flat and boring but I did like Freddy, though he acted more like a toddler at times, I did enjoy reading his character. I felt her parents were also a bit OTT when Hilary made a ‘mistake’. Really, no parents act like that in real life. They were quite mean. I mean, who doesn’t feed their child just because they did something all teenagers experience at least once?

I did like the story concept, I thought it was quite sweet; the secrecy between Grayson and Hilary and the moments they shared together. I loved their budding relationship but the book was so rushed that, to me, it seemed too quick and hectic.

There were some parts of the story that didn’t add up for me at all, a lot of contradictions and head-scratching moments that was hard to move past.

I really enjoyed the ending though was super confused at where Hilary and Freddy were before the formal. I didn’t feel that scene was especially necessary. But I loved what Grayson did on stage, boy, I did not see that coming! *Chuckle*

This is the first story I’ve read from Belle Brooks and though I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wished, I do feel her writing itself has major potential, the story just needs to be less rushed and hectic. I’ll certainly be reading future books from this author, especially YA, I love YA.

Miss Not Together by Belle Brooks is a cute, quick YA story and a nice pause from the heaviness I've been reading lately. Hilary is a self proclaimed Miss Put Together, someone who already knows her life goals and what needs to be done to achieve it. Her and Freddy, the best friend, live happily in their little bubble carving their path through school without a care for the typical teen things like parties or even liking the opposite sex. That is until a new guy, Grayson, enters the picture does Hilary realize she may want to break her own rules and actually experience something new before graduating and becoming the adult she already acts like.

I really liked Hilary and her voice, I felt she was honest with a genuine personality and someone who could easily exist in real life. I also enjoyed the fact the setting took place in a different country because learning some new lingo is always fun to me. Howerever there were also times I didn't quite like or understand the story. I wished there was a bigger lead up to Hilary and Grayson, one minute they literally can't stand each other and the next it's the opposite. I wasn't feeling what the characters were so I couldn't truly root them on. And even though I'm a huge lover of bad boys, with Grayson it just didn't work, especially the extreme hot and cold act he played. I did still like reading Miss Not Together, the title is perfect for the story, and I breezed through without once thinking of stopping. This was a good introduction to Belle Brooks and her writing and can easily see myself reading more of her work.

First off I have to say that this is the first YA book I have read in a long time. I have been stuck in THe MC world and dark reads so this book was refreshing for me and brought me back to highs chool and all the drama that comes with being in high school. All the things you go through with friends, enemies, and school work. Just trying to graduate is like walking in a mine field.

Hilary has it all including a best friend Freddy who I have a friend like that.Down to do whatever whenever, wherever. Everything is going as planned in Hilary's world until her world is turned upside down by her next door neighbor who is the new kid in school that is a badarse and every girl wants him. He has the looks, the walk and the talk of a bad boy and the girls are all scrambling to be with him.

Then him and Hilary share a kiss and her life crumbles to ashes just like that. Her life as she knew it has changed and she has no idea what to do but she has Freddy there to guide her through and when she lets go of the reigns she holds so tight her life will be what it should be. This is a great read a one click book that will keep you riveted until the end.

When Miss Goody-Two-Shoes goes bad. A fun YA read.

Hillary Watts is such a good two-shoes, the likes of which I have never seen in my life!!! She has high-powered plans for the future, and to achieve those, her life is a series of plans as she moves from one carefully chosen event to the next. No time for backchat, boyfriends or rebellion. And remember, the definition of rebellion to a teenager is subjective. What seems excessive behaviour to Hillary and her friend Freddy, also on his way to the top, is normal behaviour to most kids!

Grayson Dymicks has been at her school for seven weeks, and her carefully ordered life goes tits up, just like that! Even worse, is that she has new neighbours, and its him! He is such a neat and honest kid, even if he’s put the skids on Hillary’s plans! I just loved him.

This is a YA read that is quick and fun. Even though I usually avoid YA like the plague, I did enjoy it, and am going to grab a paperback copy for my daughter. 4 Stars.

Oh the joys of being a teenager thinking that your life is all planned out and nothing will get in your way. Certainly not a little thing like love and boys. Hilary and her bestie Freddy have a life plan. Hilary has a laser focus to achieve her and Freddy's dreams. That is, until Grayson enters her school, moves next door with his dad and twin and consumes her every thought.

This is a coming of age, first love story. There are many firsts that the characters must navigate and the story reminds us the joys of being a teenager. I really enjoyed Hilary and Grayson's story and found many parallels to back when I was that age.

Miss Not Together is a young adult, opposites attract story. This title explores a great deal of the vulnerabilities and issues that face teenagers in this day and age.

The heroine Hilary Watts is ambitious, intelligent, and driven. She's a bit of a nerd, and can be quite awkward at times, but also cute and sassy.

The hero, Grayson is a bad boy. Where Hilary is a rule follower, he's a rule breaker, who loves nothing more than to push her buttons.

I love the banter between the characters that is full of sarcasm, wit and humor.

The side characters were quite endearing and intriguing and I'd love to see more of Freddie and Trey in the future.

*I received a free ARC of Miss Not Together from the author. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*
Miss Not Together is all about letting go. Not thinking only of the future, but about the present. To be young, and take advantage of that fact.
While the writing was good, the story itself did not appeal to me as much as I thought it would - I think it was mostly because I had trouble connecting with the different characters involved.

This was a big change to what I'm used to from Belle Brooks, but, it was a good change. Belle Brooks does YA very well. Being back inside the teenage mind was fun and makes you relive all the big "firsts" we went through.

With Belle Brooks' brilliant writing, her awesome and fun characters, it's definitely a story I recommend reading. Could be that one book you didn't know you were looking for.

Loved it!!

This was a great YA book about firsts. First kisses, first loves, first time getting in trouble lol.

Hilary has dreams of running the world. Grayson is not meant to be apart of that dream. When the bad boy breaks down her walls, the two of them find they might actually like each other.

This was a great YA book.

Miss Not Together is a sweet, funny, YA story about Hilary, a high school girl who has her life all mapped out and has no time for interruptions. That is until she is hit with Grayson, and can't get away! She finds out that plans change there is more to life then what she originally thought. Her best friend, Freddy is an added bonus to this story, he loves her and supports her always. Everyone needs a Freddy! I highly recommend this book!!!

Such a heartwarming story. Being a teenager isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when a boy crosses your path that you just can't seem to avoid. Lessons are learned, sometimes the hard way. This took me back to my high school days. Great story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

This book was a mess, and I don't mean title and character. There were things just thrown in that were confusing or unnecessary.

Overall, I had hoped for a light, fun read that made me giggle and squee, but there were too many unnecessary or unresolved things for me to try to process it all.

Young Adult romance reads are one of my all-time favourite reads and when I find one about first love with all the feels when then I am instantly intrigued. Belle Brooks has managed to write a young adults story that has to be one of the top reads of this genre as it really explored the feelings of growing up and being a teenager. I found that I really connected to the story and some parts in the story really reflect the way I felt when I was the age of the main character in the story.

I absolutely adored Hilary and found that she was a great character. I loved the relationships that she had with her family and her best friend Freddy. It was obvious how important these people are to her. I really loved the way that Hilary dealt with getting older and becoming an adult. I found that she was responsible but she was also funny and I loved the banter she got into with Grayson.

Grayson was perfect for Hilary as he was her opposite. I loved the way that he was outspoken and really cared for her. It was obvious from the start that he really liked her as he was there for her when she needed someone. I did find Grayson to be a mystery at the start of the book but as I read more of the story I grew to love the character.

I read this story all in one sitting because I could not get enough of this story. I absolutely loved it and found myself so engrossed in the story that nothing else mattered but reading to the end. This book once again shows that the author can write any genre and they have once again written an epic read that I loved.

Miss Not Together by Belle Brooks

Hillary Watts is a straight laced seventeen year old perfect student, daughter, friend, swimmer and goofball nerd. She is even on the committee for the senior formal that she isn't even planning on attending. She has her life planned out step by step until a new smokin' hot guy shows up at school and throws her life into a hormonal tailspin. Grayson Dymicks recently moved to town with his father and brother Tray. The guys all want to be his friend and the girls are all swooning at his feet even Hillary, unfortunately he is determined to treat her like crap. Then she discovers not only can she not escape him at school but she can't at home either because he moved in next door. As much as she wants to dislike him her body keeps having a different reaction. After a series of events she discovers there's more to him than meets the eye.

I adore her relationship with her bestfriend Freddy and how they support and keep each other grounded. Everyone deserves a friend like that.
Hillary and her father's relationship was beyond beautiful. Her mother ugh Not my favorite. I found her disconnected, gruff, self absorbed.
Tray was a wonderful surprise I loved his interaction with his brother Grayson and even Hillary. The brothers were night and day, yin and yang. I would love to see a future book for Tray. (Hint Hint) 😉
Oh and Amber so much I'd like to know about her and Grayson and that extra t-shirt!

What a delightful story...

Hilary is a very mature young girl, she is a level headed grade A student,
very sporty and an ultimate geek.
She has ambitions" to be the Prime minister one day" you know.
Her one and only friend and side kick Freddy is so sweet in his adoration of Hilary.
They are both very focused, and no one will stop their climb to the top of
their chosen path, no one , not even any hot young men, na ah.

Grayson is a new boy in class, who also happens to be the new neighbour
that have moved next door to Hilary's house.
He is so annoying, and so hot, how dare he make trouble in Hilary's well laid plans.
Why does she feel so vulnerable next to him?
Why does he make her feel all gooey when he picks on her ?
She has ambitions, she does !!
So why does she feel like her life is getting out of control?

l loved this story of young love, the characters are gorgeous.
There is a devoted father, an often absent mother , an unexpected sibling,
some horrible classmates, and so much body anxiety to deal with.

l laughed so much at Hilary's first ever party antics,
and her " boob situation ".
It's all very well written , very humorous and the story flows very well.
Belle Brooks is such a versatile author , l have loved her cheeky books
as much as her thrillers, and her angst and sad stories.

It was hilarious. It was witty and full of sarcasm. It had all the awkward and cute moments of teenage love. Miss Not Together by Belle Brooks was like cool breeze in a warm summer day. I am in love with this sweet romantic story of Grayson and Hilary.

Hilary is the definition of planned and sorted out young girl. Ambitious, talented, smart and sassy. But her well put together life is crumbling like a sand castle under the weight of a moody and brooding bad boy, Grayson. He is exact opposite than her. But they have this connection in their soul. This dilemma gives rise to sometimes funny and sometimes deep moments in their lives. Grayson is hiding a lot behind his bad boy mask. And so is Hilary. The author tackles a lot of issues in this story. Body image issues, high school bullying, teenager-parent struggles, school issues, identity crisis and many more things. Hilary and Grayson complete each other and change each other for the better and stronger. I loved the side characters like Tray (Grayson's brother), Hilary's dad and Hilary's best friend Freddy. This story talks about young love without being immature or childish.

Miss Not Together by Belle Brooks is an entertaining journey with two very interesting young persons. I laughed a lot. I felt sad a bit with the emotional side. But it was a complete package!

The super talented Belle Brooks blows me away again!

Miss Not Together is an outstanding story about all the awkwardness, insecurities, embarrassment, relationships and trials that the high school years are all about. Add a hearty dose of perfectly timed sarcasm and humor and this book is a winner!

Hilary is a fantastic character. She's smart, sweet, a rule follower, prides herself in having her act together and is destined for greatness. Her crush Grayson is the epitome of teenage punk persona you can't help but root for. The dance of sorts that these two do - is utter perfection. The way their relationship and feelings developed consumed me. Hilary's best friend Freddy, Hilary's parents, Freddy's parents and even Grayson's brother and dad make up an incredible supporting cast that truly brought this story to life.

Once I started, I couldn't put it down. YA isn't my go to genre as I have three teenagers and the last image I need is them getting it on with their high school crushes. However this story is so much more. It is really Hilary's coming of age. Her friendships, her relationship with her parents, going to a party, drinking...all the things kids her age face. All impeccably written as always - this author's super power is her use of words! Absolutely brilliant!

Fantastic coming of age story

Belle Brooks has certainly kicked a goal with this book. MISS NOT TOGETHER, Belle's first foray into the YA Genre was brilliant. This was a story that concentrated on so many teenage firsts: first crush, first kiss, first love. Hilary and Grayson's story was a wonderful look at a teenage girl's reactions to boy who shouldn't even get a second glance.

Hilary Watts was the perfect daughter, the perfect student and the perfect best friend. She had set herself a goal ... to become Prime Minister ...and she was determined to reach it, everything she did was focused towards that one goal. Then Grayson Dymick moved in next door. He was everything Hilary wasn't, he was a bad boy with a bit of "James Dean Rebel Without A Cause" attitude. He was the boy girls like Hilary avoided.

One kiss from Grayson and Hilary's world is turned upside down. The further along their relationship moves the more the both of them begin to change. Grayson is not what he originally appears to be and Hilary blossoms into a young woman she didn't know existed.

A fantastic coming of age story that Belle delivers with sensitivity, humour and a little bit of angst and drama. I really hope that she continues to write more stories in this genre.

I love ya and this book was no exception it was such a great book well written and fades to black when it came to the little naughty bits and that’s what i loved the most.

This story was of a nerd and the perfect bad boy who took no crap.

I love the chemistry and the banter between the two main characters and loved reading their story evolve into more than friends. This was a slow story from enemies to friends to lovers and i loved everything about it.

I loved Hilary she was so put together and had her dreams in front of her and nothing was going to get in her way and i loved the friendship she had with her best friend Freddy he was exactly the same as her and there friendship was so nerdy.

Grayson was a mystery to start off with and made me love him more, he was a bit of a arse to start off with and wasn’t sure what was going to happen to make is bad attitude change. I also loved Tray and he made me laugh.

This was a fantastic story of a young girl going through puberty and learning how to become a woman and really gaining different feelings.

Loved everything about this book and is such an awesome YA read that was cute and funny

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is a coming of age story about Hilary in her last term at high school, and a straight A student. Hilary and her best friend Freddie have their lives mapped out. Hilary is going to Prime Minister and Freddie her second in command.
This is a about teenage hormones hitting Hilary and finding out that there is something apart from schoolwork and planning her life.
It all started the day some new neighbors move in next door. A man with twin sons Grayson and Tray. From the first moment she saw Gray, Hilary couldn’t understand her feelings.
This is the story of a late bloomer finally breaking out of her uptight persona. Gray and Hilary gradually start seeing each other in secret hence miss not together instead of miss get it together.
This is an entertaining peek into Hilary’s first relationship and the usual high school angst not much in fact I thought everyone was very well behaved. I think it hits us all when the hormones and feelings get in the way of world domination. It was wilder in my day. This an entertaining peek into Hilary and Grayson both being hit with that thing called love.

Belle Brooks made me love young adult again with this hilarious story. The title and cover are perfect and once you read it, you will understand why. This cast of characters will have you belly laughing and rolling your eyes in a good way from start to finish. The unique twists and turns made this book absolutely adorable. If a girl is lucky enough to have people like Freddy, Grayson and Tray in her life, she is doing alright. Belle Brooks, I truly believe you can write just about any genre and it is sure to be a hit. Thank you for reminding me why it is ok not to have it all so together. Life is so much more fun if you live a little while you chase your dreams! This story is the perfect balance of sarcasm, growing pains, sweet moments, humor and love. Thank you Belle for showcasing the importance of friendship in this book because so many young people don’t have that. Even one amazing friend can make so much difference in a person’s life. Ms. Brooks this story is so relatable with a fresh spin on teenage life and I really adored this tale.
