Rate this book
What happens when you…

Mix one woman who’s determined to show her husband exactly what he threw away with his cheating ways.

With a man who has never cheated on his wife and has no idea why she’s divorcing him.

Stir in a good-hearted, meddling owner of La Petite Mort Club.

Turn up the heat with a masquerade ball.

You get one hot Christmas Eve at La Petite Mort Club. They may not get a Christmas miracle but they will definitely have a happy ending.

Craig doesn’t want a divorce. He loves his wife and has not ever cheated on her, no matter what she believes. None of that matters because he’s been kicked out of his house and served with divorce papers.

Liz is devastated that her husband of twenty-three – she thought – wonderful years of marriage has been cheating on her. And not just with one woman or even two, but an entire sex club full of younger women.

Kicked out of his home and served with divorce papers, Craig is livid at being unjustly accused of cheating. This story focused around the sex club and Liz’s plans for revenge to show her husband what he’s thrown away.

I loved that this all started with a misunderstanding and a Christmas Masquerade Party brings them back together closer than ever!

What a gift for Christmas...

This is the story of a couple named Elizabeth and Craig. They were married just out of college and raised three children together, who were now all grown up. Elizabeth had asked Craig for a divorce because she to thought he was cheating on her with women at the La Petite Mort Club. This was a club for people who were into BDSM and she thought he was. Craig had only been to the club a couple of times so he could get an idea of how to do their advertising because he owned a advertisement firm. Suffice it to say that she didn't give him a chance to explain and both of them really didn't want a divorce but could not figure out how to resolve their issues. Ethan helps to get them together so they can work it out. Ethan runs the club basically with help from his friends. Read it you will like it.

A steamy read about a long married couple considering a divorce. The book is written from both Liz and Craig's POV. Liz's insecurity and a lack of communication between the married couple is the main theme of this story. With the help of Ethan, the upmarket sex club owner and hidden disguises at a masquerade party, Liz and Craig dare each other to lose their inhibitions. Craig was a gentleman throughout and he was a very relatable character. I did enjoy the story a lot, the author is very good at her craft. It was nice to read about a married couple, as the dynamics of their relationship differs due to their intimate knowledge of each other. This story demonstrates that even if you've been married for a long time, you may not know your partner's deepest and kinkiest desires as Craig and Liz find out. A good read.

This was gooood

I have found this author shines when writing about characters that are slightly broken and in end of release or in finding someone to see them. So far it’s been the more mature couples that I have liked the most and this is the case here as well. It’s a book about hurt, miscommunication and mistrust between Liz and Craig. Liz is heart broken because she is convinced her husband is cheating on her and doesn’t find her attractive any longer while Craig is completely confused and devastated by his wife giving him divorce papers. He has never cheated and never wanted anyone but her.

This is the baseline for the story and I found myself so invested in both these characters and how they would resolve the issues between them. It was so good and I’m glad it was the full story. I wouldn’t mind more from these two.

This is another story based in the La Petite Mort Club. I really liked this one because the couple this story is about has been married for 20 years so they are middle-aged and they have drifted apart. The wife Liz is so sure her husband is cheating on her at the club because she found his membership card BUT she jumps to the conclusion without asking him about it and files for divorce. There is another reason as well that had they talked to teach other Liz and Craig could have avoided so many things but they also would not have discovered their own kinks. I have to say this book hit on so many OH YES moments I wish there was a La Petite Mort Club close to me. This was a fast read for me and one I passed off to my partner.

This was such a fun read and a great Christmas book it was so different. A lack of communication nearly ruined everything but Ethan, the owner of the La Petite Morte Club arranges for the estranged couple to attend a masquerade party at the club on Christmas Eve. The passion was incredible and continued into the next day and thanks to Ethan's sage advice and a lessening of inhibitions, Liz and Craig get a Christmas miracle and lots of kinky sex.

Christmas novella! I liked this story that takes place at La Petite Mort Club. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Liz and Craig are divorcing after 23 years of marriage because of a misunderstanding and lack of communication. With a little help from Ethan the club owner his Masquerade Christmas Eve party will either be the end or a new beginning for the couple. Great holiday quick read, I highly recommend!

Ellis O Day always has a way of taking a situation and intertwining it with characters so full of personality and angst, twisting them together, then giving them a sexy, fun filled encounter that will just take your breath away. This is no exception. It's one of those true to life situations that could go horribly wrong when misunderstandings and assumptions come into play. Thank Fate and Master Ethan, and of course Ellis, for intervening. It makes for such a joyous Christmas

Happily Ever After!

I love romantic stories because they always have a happy ending! (At least the ones that I read do!). Craig and Liz’s story was no different. They struggled with miscommunication, old hurts, misperceptions, and self-esteem issues. That all translated into questions, suspicions, and accusations. It wasn’t until they stopped and took stock of what was most important that they decided to make things work! I’m very, very glad that they did!

Liz served her husband, Craig with divorce papers after finding a business card for Le Petite Mort Club in his draw. She believes he's been cheating. The club is a client for Craig's ad agency and he's out to prove to his wife that he still loves her and only her. Lucky for them, they have Ethan's help, A Christmas Eve Masquerade.

Second-chance holiday romances officially have me in a chokehold 😮‍💨🎄
A couple headed for a divorce neither of them truly wants… both completely lost… and they end up at a masquerade party at a sex club?? YES PLEASE.

Don’t let the quick read fool you, this story is relatable, endearing, emotionally honest, and seriously hot. I’m still blushing. 🥵✨

Liz & Craig

A misunderstanding & a jump to divorce without getting the whole true story. Liz was hurt when finding what she thought was evidence to Craig's infidelity & without confronting him she filed for divorce, & then proceeded to get even by joining a sex club. Fast, good read. (Reviewed by Lin)

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Liz and Craig are a married couple who do not know how to tell the one they love, what is happening so they keep secrets from each other.

Good but short

Really liked this book due to the characters are in their 40's. Typically most characters are young and babies. So liked this one was different but still had Bdsm. Enjoyed the characters and the scenario hit a little to close to my current life and age. Great book!

Hot, delightful and heartwarming. Can miscommunication end a relationship? Could a masquerade at a sex club save it? These characters are very realistic people facing the trials of life including troubled sex lives. Spicy Christmas fun.

What a delightful Christmas short story. I Love HEA's. Many thanks for the copy of this novella. It was a pleasure spending time with Craig and Liz. This story should be read by all parents of children that just left the house. Take advantage of this time of your life. Enjoy it and the book.

Very erotic

Very erotic. Liz thinks Craig has cheated. She thinks he has joined a lifestyle club. She finds out that there will be a masquerade party and plans to get her revenge on her husband. They both receive a very erotic surprise.

Read a couple of chapters and started skimming. Then realized this book wouldn’t have ever been written if the wife and husband had just communicated. Stopped reading. Glad it was free.

A quick read with a decent plot. Needs some editing help and there’s way too much drinking for the main characters to have been anything but falling down drunk during that Christmas Eve party.

Short Story but Good

Definitely a short story. The plot was good and it kept it interesting with the amount of smut. Wish the story was longer

Rekindle Flame

This starts out with a pending divorce based on a lack of communication, but the sparks start flying for this couple as soon as spicy time makes a reappearance.
