Abducted from Earth, held prisoner in a surreal cliff-top mansion overlooking the sea with a huge tortured alien, and expected to breed to create a hybrid warrior race capable of taking over the galaxy... Well, let’s just say a shy computer geek like me should be overwhelmed by such a future. But I’m not. And together with the males imprisoned with me, I’ll fight to escape my fate.
But escaping captivity proves far easier to accomplish than avoiding my destiny as the mate of the four alien brothers who claim me as their own. Even if it means rejecting the kind of love I’ve only ever dreamed of, I’ll do anything to save them from themselves and the terrible fate they seem so willing to embrace.
Nhys Glover is an Australian born award-winning author of over 75 romance novels. She is known for blending heart, heat, and a touch of the extraordinary in her stories. From time-traveling lovers to soul-deep polyamory connections, her work explores love in all its transformational forms. Now living in Durham County UK, Nhys draws on her background in teaching and spiritual inquiry for inspiration in her writing. As she sits at her desk, staring out at the windy moors, she often reflects on what it means to stay human in an increasingly digital world. It is, after all, the subject of her newest book, a non-fiction called Authenticity, as Taught by a Machine. But no matter the genre, Nhys is always chasing one thing: the truth at the heart of every story.
This story was OK but a few things bothered me. A bit spoilery. - Bronwyn has too many insecurities and there is way too much inner dialogue - I never understood the whole timeline thing. Bronwyn was taken from Earth but Thain (blue alien) explains that Gaia no longer supports life and the Danans, created by humans, have been around for over 200,000 years. They have interstellar travel and interact with other aliens. No mention of other humans. So did they travel back in time to kidnap humans???? I really want to understand this...please answer my questions Ms. Glover. - I'm still not clear about how and why the Danans were created, the different colors are cool. - The reproductive hermaphrodite issue would lead to a bunch of clones, confused. - I liked Rhain (white alien) but his future walking creeped me out a little. The mind-talk was interesting. - Naicin (green alien) came off as the joker and he was a bit of a man-whore. - I hated Macin (red alien) a first. He was quite mean and insulting to Bronwyn. - But what really got under my skin is at the end, when Bronwyn decides to leave the guys and try to break their bond. I just wanted to grab her and shake some sense in to her. Her logic was totally flawed and took away from their happy reunion. - I wanted more romance. Their sex scenes were so clinical and pretty much only done so they could establish mind-talking abilities. Needed more chemistry, especially in the frenzy.
Alien romances are rarely my thing. This one was to fulfill a challenge. I know I know, insecurities exist and it's normal to be worried about looks and weight etc. Bron dialed that up to eleven and it was constant. She needed affirmation from the guys every step of the way. She was smart, but at the same time an overthinker. The third act breakup was ridiculous. She got clingy, then pushed them away and then ran back to them. Almost lost me at the end there. I did like the guys, although it was M/F up to chapter ten and then the others pop up for a full set. I liked Rhain. One fell under the radar and the Maica needed as much attention as she did.

So the basic story is that a woman gets abducted by aliens. In the process of escaping she ends up the mate of four other aliens. She then goes through an inner crisis of what she really wants.
This was ok. The guys were pretty distinguishable from each other in addition to being different colors. The heroine wasn't terrible if just a bit annoying. She would argue with anyone who gave her a compliment...even if you don't agree just say thank you, not everything has to be a thing. She would also have the most basic thoughts, things that anyone would think of and she was treated like an innovator of thinking. She also flip flopped a little too much for my liking.
I read the reviews and thought reading worse inconsistencies than said. Yes a few but definitely not the monster some readers said.
The only maybe annoying thing is the major physical complex the heroine has all along. I felt the author projected her own insecurities into her heroine.
The second annoying thing is this author do not know how to write sex scenes and especially a menage à cinq sex scene. The frenzie here is just 4 MF sex scenes in a row, same room. Author is unable to call a dick a dick or penis. She calls is a thorn. No mention of explicit sex terms at all. So it lacked of sexual and sensuality for me.
Abducted from earth 28 March 2019 Format: Kindle Edition What would ou do if you found yourself waking up in a luxurious villa by the ocean? You don’t know how you got there and there doesn’t seem to be anybody else around when you first start exploring. There are beautiful gardens around the villa that lead up to a forest. The strange thing is that there are no roads in or out of the property! When you go back into the villa you find the main bedroom which has a big, blue, wounded man lying on the bed! This is what happened to Bronwyn, a shy, fearful young woman who is a computer geek. She isn’t thin and she isn’t very tall so her self image is not good. What she couldn’t understand was why her creep of a boss had picked her to take out to dinner and lied about it being a business dinner with prospective clients! Anyway, here she was so she set to work to treat the big blue guy’s wounds calling him Hefty Smurf in her mind. This is Nhys Glover at her best. She combines humour with romance and quite a lot of action. Bronwyn is shocked at first learning that Hefty Smurf has three brothers, all of different colours, and they ALL consider her to be their mate! Four guys? Come on! If you are into ménage romance you will love this! Nhys Glover’s world building is great! This is just a great story! Definitely 5 stars!
Everytime I think "I cannot possibly find a fmc more annoying" a book like this comes my way.
Brownyin, or whatever her name is, is such a boring, annoying brat that I can't even find the words to express how much I loathed her character. Her inner dialogues must be amongst the worst I've ever read, and I have read Jacob's pov on breaking dawn so that says something. She is brimming with insecurities and in the beginning it was ok, but after a while I just wished she made an appointment with a terapist ASAP. She continually says no one has ever showed her romantic interest because of her appearance and I couldn't stop thinking that maybe it was her winning personality the real reason for it.
The male leads were also meh. Honestly, I stayed for the sex scenes and even that was lackluster so. I don't know
Redeeming: If I have to point something good on the book, it would be the world building, it has lots of potencial. Unfortunately, at least for me, said potencial was little to no explored whatsoever.
What did I like about this book? TROY, the Kelpie! I also liked all of the fae once the book got that far. I thought the dragon scene was well done for the most part. What I didn't like was that the main character was a young idiot. She didn't learn from her experiences and her mistakes after being told repeatedly what they were by the Kelpie. You don't make bargains with the fae was the main one. Being only 17 she should have remembered enough of the lessons about the fae from her grandmother up until she was 8 or 9 years old, so that was not a really good excuse for her total lack of knowledge on the fae.
I didn't like the cliffhanger ending. It was very abrupt.
Now having said that, it was a good story over all as far as story line. There were enough things going on to keep your imagination going. If you like stories about the fae, you might enjoy this one if you like young people who aren't too bright as the main character.
First read by this author. I like the concept of the book itself but some things were a problems for me. One was, her egg wasn't involved in anything. I seem to get can't my head around this concept of the book. Two was the whole frenzy sex scenes. It was one after the other. How she made it out to be was them performing a ritual, so all of their cocks are inside of her. It took a lot out of my thoughts about that type of scene. Three was the heroine's name... I can't stand her name at all. I don't like it. Four- this is more to do with the author than the book itself. The author [herself] could not call a male's penis..a penis or dick or cock or even manhood. It's known as a thorn?
The details of sex scenes were meh at the best not good.
This started out very well, an original idea, fun characters, and well written.. but only to a point. This book was ruined by over exposition, everything, EVERYTHING was described down to the most monotonous detail. It got dizzying at times. It allowed no time to actually connect to the characters because I was too busy trying to catch up to the latest repetitive description of a string. Yes, a string, I'm not kidding. There were a whole two pages on that 🤦🏻♀️ Then, the fun smutty scenes came out of nowhere and were relatively vague and boring. I struggled to finish this and honestly I didn't really want to but I'd gotten so far my stubbornness wouldn't allow to DNF yet another book I was not enjoying. Like I said it started out good and I was very disappointed by about 5 chapters in when it started to feel like I was reading a nature documentary.
Amazing plot! The characters are unbelievable! Four handsome alien brothers, a nerdy, smart human woman, evil aliens, alien friends and horrific alien creatures! Captured, escaped, nearly killed, rescued and also mated and bonded to four brothers! Terrified that she would cause their death, she is determined to end it! Will she, can she, should she? Lots of surprises, danger, suspense, and hot Lovin going on! Be prepared for exciting and daring adventures! Loved it, got so caught up in it I read it straight through without a break! Their emotions keep you hoping and guessing till the last word!
First the cover picture looks nothing like how the heroine is described in the book. The female lead is also an idiot. At least 75% of the book is filled with internal dialogue about her insecurities. This gets old very quickly. It would have been better to see the heroine grow throughout the story and become stronger sooner instead of the last 10 pages. I’ll still give it three stars because of the world building. I think it has potential but I don’t know if I’ll read the other books in the series.
I was intrigued by the storyline blurb, despite the various reviews descriptions.
So, my take?
The heroine, while analytical when she should be (I like that a character thinks through a new situation and weighs the possible explanations and outcomes depending on various actions versus jumping in with no thought or trusting/believing/depending on EVERYONE else to save them) her penchant for overthinking and being paralyzed by her own fears sadly becomes annoying and cliched. The new aliens were interesting and engaging most of the time.
While everything for the heroine and her mates ends well, I'm not sure I'll read more of this world. Maybe other reviews will convince me...we'll see.
To me the quality of an author is defined by two things: their story ideas and their writing skills. An author who writes well, but has no good stories gets boring quickly. An author who has great story ideas, but no writing skills can be very painful to read. This author not only has a very nice writing voice, but also delivered a compelling story within a unique universe. VERY well done!
The FMC is way too insecure. Every internal monologue from her has her putting herself down. Every single page there’s no less than 2 comments about her weight, how ugly she is, or how she looks like the Michelin man. A quote from the book is literally “another man that finds me attractive? How? My love handles are downright shameful.” What the hell? Who even thinks like that lmao it was annoying.
This book was… weird. For the first 45% of the book you are stuck in a room with the MFC and one of her mates. The rest don’t arrive until after that. Then it gets pretty good for a bit. Until she gets all melodramatic and self sabotages herself. Then it’s just 🙄 again. It hardly makes the ends worth it.
Anyways, 2/5 cause I didn’t completely hate it and there were some interesting ideas, but it wasn’t particularly enjoyable to read either.
Read on KU. I love alien romances and fated mates and RH. Well this book has all that. It's an easy read with a decent storyline just missing a bit of wow factor for me but that said it had great characters and good mix of action and romance.
Cool book, interesting heroine, realistic in her reactions. The aliens were also one of a kind, each one comes in a different colour and their physiology is so different, bizarre even but I still enjoyed it.
I loved this book! The MC is very relatable and smart!....Yes!! And each of the males have beautifully unique personalities. I never thought I’d get into Alien RH but I’m all in.
I love the authors style and her different take on alien abduction. While the first half of the book was perfect the second half felt rushed and there were a few errors that brought me out of the story.
I liked this story. There are a few inconsistencies and the heroine could be annoyingly passive aggressive and wishy washy but overall not off putting enough to stop reading. I’m think I might give the second book a go.
I actually loved this one. The aliens were legit alien. They had trouble communicating. They had to work together. There was conflict and anger. Meh on the almost instant turn arounds sometimes but otherwise it was great.
Each book is a new woman this been a fantastic first. Will admit in some parts the mfc for all her brains was a bit dense in her mannerisms. Can't wait to read more. JL
It was ok I nearly DNF'ed really struggled to connect with the characters in the first half. There was too much build up for a short stand alone. The constant self deprecation from the fmc was really grating. Glad I finished it though as the second half was better.
Kidnapped by aliens for a breeding program, Bronwyn wakes up in a hologram with Thaid, a blue alien. They figure out how to escape from the hologram to find Thaid's three brothers. The alien society they come from has multiple males to a single female.
Starts a little slowly, but picks up momentum quickly and hooked me. Always had a thing for reversed -harem stories. Good world-building. Can't wait to read more of this series!
Alien reverse harem different way written its not scary like some can be its very cute and funny specially fmc . Very good start in to the series. Already read the second one too. It is easy to read there is good plot is not very dark for me was like balm on soul after so much of dark books :)
Interesting universe concept. There was slightly too much inner dialogue and a lot of self deprecation. Some of the relationship transitions from positive to negative or negative to positive were a little rushed but I still enjoyed the story.
