“The quality of your life depends on the people in your life. When you design your room, you transform your life.” That quote conclude this short yet powerful read. Two of my biggest takeaways were in developing a thorough understanding of association and the importance of making value-based decisions. This book described our life as a room with only one door. The unique thing about this door was the fact that it was “Enter Only.” So in understanding that, it elaborates on the control that people and memories have the potential to have on us in hopes of pursuing our best life. Crazy... but true. The other part I enjoyed was creating a standard of association based on your core values and the intended life direction. Everyone knows the importance of that, but the follow through? 🥴.
Anyway, this was a great “top of the year” read because in discovering your life’s purpose you also discover people, places, and things in your life that have the potential to prohibit you from fulfilling it.

Although I was excited to purchase this book, as recommended by the INFJ Facebook group, I'm disappointed with the content. There's nothing technically wrong with the book, but I've read many self-help books over the years, and this one doesn't seem particularly insightful or motivational. The premise is that who we choose to invite, keep, and manage in our lives influences our happiness. Fairly obvious. The dealbreaker questions are good, but I'm not sure why this book is a best seller.
I couldn't put this book down! It truly holds the secret for creating you best life and gives you the tools to deal with one of the most important Primary foods- relationships.
Get a pen and notebook: this book will require a good amount of self-reflection as you perform five exercises to identify the good and bad influences in your life.
As a reader, I found "Who's in Your Room" to be a truly enlightening and engaging book. It offers a fresh perspective on the profound impact that our personal and professional relationships have on our lives.
The concept of life being a room, where everyone we meet stays with us forever, is both intriguing and thought-provoking. This metaphor really made me think about the people I've allowed into my 'room' and how they've shaped my experiences. It's a powerful reminder to be selective with our associations, emphasizing the lasting impact of these choices.
What I appreciated most was the practical nature of the book. The authors, with their rich backgrounds in networking and personal development, don't just theorize. They provide tangible strategies for managing relationships and setting boundaries, which I found immediately applicable in both my personal and professional life.
"Who's in Your Room" is a captivating read that has left a lasting impression on me—enough of an impression that I've recommended it to our family and my colleagues again and again.
Who's in Your Room is a visualisation technique to better understand and organize our relationships. It comes with a set of rules and exercises that help to reflect how every person in our life affects us and how we can react in better ways.
The visualisation exercises are explained in step by step method making them easy enough to do while reading the book. The authors have taken significant effort to back their theory with real life anecdotes.
I am left confused why this book has weeks long waitlist for this book. It is not more unique from other visualisation techniques that help with dealing with toxicity.
Should You Read The Book? Yes, if you feel lost in life, feel lonely in a room full of their people, and have traumatic experience lately.
“Wow” is the first word that comes to mind. I picked up the book and couldn’t put it down until I was done. There are many great (impactful) ideas and solutions within this book, which is why I’m also giving the book to my (adult) kids to read. I definitely recommend this book as a “must read.”
This is good for deciding what business partners and relationships to start or stop. You can’t be effective if you say yes to everything.
I don’t completely agree that all previous relationships forever influence us for better or worse. I believe instead that everything that happens is for our good. In every scenario, you either win or learn.
A straightforward message to actively creat your ideal life by surrounding yourself with those people who will help promote the life values most important to you.
“Who’s in your room?” illustrates who to manage nowadays with different kind of people around you. Which ones you should make closers and which one not? You can’t find the solution for this question but you can receive some different points of view to choose about that.
A book where you reflect on the people who are in your life and look closely at your values and who you want to allow into your life. It got me thinking. And the book is also fun because of the assignments in it.
This concept is powerful and the book provides concrete steps to take to get control of the people and situations in your life to build your life around what you value most.
Short book with practical tips on managing relationships. Everyone you meet is in your room...makes you leery to meet others! Wished there was more on boundaries especially with work team. Easy read with useful information
Loved it!!! A great way to learn about what is really important to you in life and how to only let like-minded people into your life! Also a short and to the point!
It's a great book, and I highly recommend. Makes you think about the people that you invite into your lives, and makes you reconsider some of those decisions.
