#GoodGirlBadBoy was such a good book. I'm so happy that I randomly took a chance on this series because I fell, hard. In it, you will meet Harper and Emerson (spoiler alert - lol!). Long story short, Harper has really good grades... and Emerson doesn't.
After transferring to a new school, they have noticed one another. Whether it was good or bad - I shipped it. It was getting a bit annoying when people were telling her that he doesn't do relationships. It's not like she was trying to change him in one day.. damn people! They just liked looking at one another. Maybe flirt here or there. They were cute and adorable - LET THEM LIVE!
Low and behold, she changed him. Those bitches never saw it coming. I enjoyed it so much. Harper just made me laugh so much in this book. Her okays towards Emerson were just hilarious. She was so freaking relatable to me and probably others. Everyone will act like they understand but deep down inside, know nothing. That's me EVERY DAY.
Overall, I loved this book. I think there's a novella or something before the series ends?? Not quite sure but I want to read it if I can find it!!
1.5 Stars This is a light fluffy romance. I think younger teens will enjoy it but the main female character was just so wholesome and sweet it made my head hurt.
TOP FIVE REASONS TO KEEP READING THIS SERIES (as if you need encouragement):
1. It's actually innocent. No gross icky whatnot can be found in the flaps of this book.
2. It's relatable... *cough
"I settled for browsing social media and then my favorite: Pinterest."
3. Harper's faked "all-okays." ...even when she clearly isn't. It's pretty remarkable, considering, that Yesenia Vargas mentioned how she was least like Harper...but still somehow managed to exactly capture what someone in Harper's shoes would do.
I've found from others, and can personally attest to, acting like it's all good, when it really isn't. And Harper is that way completely. She wants no one to worry about her, she feels guilty whenever she ruins a mood, and she's always trying to keep it light. Even if she just wants to cry. ((just an amazing character all-round))
(like her reactions with Emerson:)
(when she really feels:)
(Three Michael Scott giphs in one review?? Of course, watch this:)
4. It's friendly. Once again, the squad's all here! All five of these girls, and they never give up on each other or stop encouraging one another. I need more books like this, seriously. The only drama in these stories is real-life problems--no random friend bails or snide comments behind the back; they're all good friends.
Lastly...............
5. Yesenia Vargas is a top-notch writer. I am floored. I always am. Her stories are not only classic and fun, but they deal with real issues in a compassionate and understandable light. It's not drama for the sake of amping...well, drama. It's just kind-hearted.
If you haven't read her stories, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. :)
And we have another beautiful and gorgeous high school romance, but this time with the good girl, the student whose grades are up, and follows the rules, Harper And with a bad boy, whose grades are not up there, he's at risk of failing school altogether, and breaks the rules all the time, Emerson
And yet, since Harper transferred schools, Emerson has always captured her attention, even if she has been told by her best friends, and she knows well, that Emerson does not do relationships and will definitely break her heart But there is something about him that draws her more and more to him
It is the first day of summer vacations, and all the girls in the #BFF group have plans to be going overseas, all except Harper. She thinks she'll be bored to go but turns out that some of her credit points from her previous school could not transfer over and if she wants to graduate on time with her friends, she needs to take 3 classes during summer
What she thinks will become a boring time spending her summer, ends up being perhaps one of the most interesting moments of her life. Why? Emerson is also taking summer classes and he's in most of her classes
They are thrown together to do many projects and assignments and the more they talk the more Emerson opens up to her and she begins to see a new side of him that no one ever sees.
She's been warned to protect her heart, but will Harper listen or will she risk her heart for him?
A beautiful tale, you'll love it! A sweet and clean romance that will have you hooked from the start!
Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!
No .. just NO!!! the relationship in this book is so unhealthy that I can't even root for them .. Harper deserves so much better but she settled for less ..I won't be convinced otherwise

Clean YA Contemporary Romance
Written in 1st person, past tense. Single pov.
This is a sweet fast read, with not that deep characterisation. It tries, but it comes off flat. I guess that's it, the whole book is just not that deep.
The romance also is just meh. Sure, there are kissing scenes, which is progress from the books of my youth, where you just got pining and awkwardness, no romance - curse those unsatisfactory times. But the build-up is lacking, unfortunately. It needs more deep conversations, more cute and endearing scenes of the two hanging out, uncovering layers.
I say this, because once you take into consideration the fact Emerson pushes people away, he lets Harper in too easily! He is the one taking the assertive steps to move this thing forward, while Harper remains uncertain, and they haven't even shared a lot of meaningful information, just scratching the surface of their iceberg of issues. Seems like a sure way for a relationship to work!
Also, they don't have a proper talk to clear everything up, after the fateful tension followed by a romantic gesture, before their relationship can be resumed. Communication is essential anywhere, but it is also something romance readers crave. It's not just "I'm sorry I was a jerk", talk about the issues behind pulling away and what boundaries you need when you're having a bad day, or grieving, etc.. And how you can work around that. Let's not just resume a character who pulls away when negative things happen as a jerk. Needing space and silence is okay. Not being emotionally available to reassure insecure lovers is okay - if you have the much needed conversations so they are forewarned about your necessities.
Once again, there also isn't enough girl friend time for their super tight friendship to be believable, or for newbie Harper to call the girls her bffs.
Am I gonna read the rest of the series? Yes! There is nothing wrong with the book, just like there's nothing extraordinary. It's just a simple quick read, in which I don't worry or get emotional, when maybe I was supposed to? With more flare for the dramatics, more access to the inner goings of the mc, and more skill in using words at the right time against the reader, I'm sure the author could pull something off. But that only comes with practice, and I'm not here to discourage people to stop writing.
This is a very good young adult book about school summer school cheerleading all the things that teenagers go through romance breakups.I absolutely enjoyed this book immensely
But I looked forward to the movie, where we could just sit and spend some time engrossed in the latest blockbuster. It wasn’t To All The Boys or Sierra Burgess, but it was interesting enough.
But the sound of Emerson’s voice made me freeze. “You sit there and watch me for ten minutes, but you won’t say hi?”
“Love is a beautiful thing, Harper. The most beautiful thing life has to offer. It comes in so many forms. The important thing is that we don’t let it slip by.”
I settled for browsing social media and then my favorite: Pinterest.
Wondering where he’d left his skateboard tonight, I noticed a motorcycle stood across the street. I could have screamed. A motorcycle and a black leather jacket? If Emerson Lopez wasn’t the definition of bad boy, I didn’t know what was.
I definitely like this book better than #LoveToHateThatBoy. I love the references toward To All The Boys or Sierra Burgess. This book was totally relatable. From watching To All The Boys, Peter Kavinsky, watching Sierra Burgess, binge watching Netflix, eating popcorn, going on the Pinterest, being the nice one in the friend group, falling for the bad boy. If you read #LoveToHateThatBoy and still not sure if you should read this book, I suggest that you read this book. I skipped reading the first book, just because it didn’t sound interesting, but after reading these two books, I kind of wish that I did read the first book. Giving this book 4 stars.
This book was good wasn’t irritated or anything. I liked Harper and Emerson story. I figured he was going to come around sooner or later. I think when you have family or grown into a family that gets into trouble or have been locked up often the kids follow their parent's footsteps; then the younger siblings follow the siblings... I believe if it wasn’t for Harper Emerson wouldn’t have become a better person. Also; Mr. Roberts made him a better person too (well more so with that letter) before he died. Harper friends were telling her how Emerson was, but they also realize that both Harper and Emerson cared for one another, so they were there for her regardless of Emerson being there and him walking away that’s what you call true friends.... but in the end, I’m glad that Emerson went and got his girl ❤️
Another cute addition to the series. I did not like it as much as the others, but I did enjoy it.
Harper was a fun character. I like that she was different than Ella and Tori. I wish we got a little more of her home life; her relationship with her dad, other feelings about moving to a new town.
Emerson. I just wanted more of him. I would have loved to see him interact with his sister or someone else somehow. He clearly is a caring person, so it would be nice to see more of that. I also want to know what happened with summer school.
One of the things that annoyed me was the idea that Harper was now realizing that she was behind on credits. I would like to think that the school would have checked that before. Also, the fact that a math and social studies class did not transfer seems a bit odd to me.
While they weren't important, the girls from summer school (can't remember their names), their inclusion in the story was a bit perplexing. They should have had a little bigger role, like when things were off with Harper and Emerson, or they should not have been included.
I don't love that in this story the main couple reconciles at a dance, AGAIN. We just saw that in Tori's book. While I like that Emerson showed up, it would have been good to have a different resolution to their story.
Again with this story, I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. I would like to read their conversation after the dance, how they would be there for each other or whatever they wanted to say, but I don't love that as a reader we just see him show up to the dance and then they are bf/gf again.
I hope we get to see how their relationship fares once school starts.
Another good story with some fun characters.

(I'm just copying and pasting reviews to all the books of the series, I've read all the books the past 2 days and they all have blended in with each other)
I liked that it was a very quick easy read, the writing was well done. I do believe that this author has great talent, and she did really well with what she did.
My thoughts are a little divided on this:
My pre-teen avid reader self would have loved this entire series. It was easy to read, quick, very clean, very cheesy, what my boy crazy naïve self would have daydreamed, seeing a hot guy across the room, falling madly in love and living happily ever after (or whatever scenario this book in the series had). I had a group of friends through school and imagined we'd be #BFF for always and ever, and same with the hot guy who would love me forever.
My adult self rolled her eyes the entire time. The subject matter was juvenile and naïve. It was cheesy, perfect for a pre-teen but as an adult with life experience and jadedness, I just wanted shake the characters and tell them all about the drama and tears that will inevitably happen. I'm still friends with my group of friends I had from elementary school through high school, but then real life happened, I haven't seen any of them in person in about 15 years, though we still facebook and marco polo and say hi every now and then, but it's nothing like the #BFF of the books. How sad am I that I could sit there and scoff at all the lovely roses and beauty of the series.
I rated this book based on writing, and tried to put myself in a less jaded persons shoes, and the series was pretty great.
This was my least favorite of the series so far even though I was looking forward to it so much because it has one of my favorite cliches ever: bad boy and good girl. It is one of those that I just love so much for some reason.
Harper and Emerson were a cute couple and I enjoyed watching them get to know each other and eventually fall in love. I felt like it was perfectly spaced out and presented so that I felt like it was realistic. Their scenes in the nursing home were seriously my favorite and honestly made me tear up a little at times.
I also loved that the friend group still had a big role in this story despite not being physically there for most of the story. The friendship is incredibly well written and hands down my favorite part of this series so far. (With the romances as a close second)
My only issue with this story was the fact that I felt like it would have been better if we had actually gotten to know Emerson and Harper a little more. There was clearly more of a story with Harper's Dad and Emerson had a ton going on in his life that I needed some explanation for. The fleshing out of these characters would have fleshed out the whole book and left me feeling more connected to the characters than I did.
But it was still a fun read and I am looking forward to the next book!
Harper is the girl I'm more like than the others. I like helping others, get along with the elderly people (the cute sassy old ladies are hilarious), and I used to be called the good girl.
Harper is such a sweet girl even with a single mom who is always there for her. Harper had to attend summer school because 3 credits she already did in her old school didn't transfer over to her new school. She also had a crush on the bad boy of the school.
Emerson is the bad boy of the school and he has to attend summer school in order to graduate. He's a very quiet boy and keeps to himself. Also grows up in a troubled family and his older sister keeps the family together the best she can. I enjoyed how he got along with the veteran in this story who helps Emerson learn some lessons before he passed away. Which was hard on Emerson.
I really liked this story and I read it in one day so this shows you how much I enjoyed reading it!
Now I have to wait to read the next books because they cost a little bit to buy them.
I don't even think 15 year old me—who exclusively read books like The Bad Boy is Possessive on Wattpad—would have enjoyed this. It seemed like a whole lot of nothing happened in this book.
The first five or so chapters were redundant with everyone under the sun telling Harper—the MC—that Emerson was bad. And for those same chapters, they pretty much ended the same too, with similar redundant concepts, just a little different wording. The settings and major scenes also take place around the same places for the entirety of the book, which again, made it repetitive and stale for me.
The chemistry and buildup also wasn't there for me. Superficial redundancy.
P.S. There were quite a bit of grammatical errors.
This is the 3rd book in the #BFF series and in this story we get to see quintessential good girl Harper falls for rule breaker Emerson, who we know from previous books that Harper has crush on him. Now I love good girl meets bad boy books, especially YA, and this one is no exception. I also love how innocent these books are, it’s refreshing.
I loved Harper and Emerson and how they slowly built a friendship that grew into something more. I loved that Harper was the one to show us sweet and caring side him and how she motivated him to be better. Through I do wish we had gotten to know more about his family. And when they finally got together 😍🥰 they were just so cute together. Can’t wait read Lena’s book!
I love Harper! She is so sweet and helpful and she is exactly what Emerson needed. It sucks that she had to stay home while everyone else went on different vacations over the summer, but she also had to go to summer school. During summer school, she comes face to face with the hot bad boy, Emerson. She tries to stay away from him, everyone tells her to stay away from him. They say he's no good, but she doesn't believe that, there has to be more to him than that. While they're volunteering at the nursing home, Harper starts to see a different side of Emerson and she falls even more for him. They are so cute together and good for each other.

I. Have read all of the books in this series. And I am looking forward to the next one, This one was my fav so far because of the bad boy good girl thing going on it was funny and sad I wish the dad would have let her go to see his instead of bailing like last minute and Emerson did not pull back but it happened and I did not thank it was nice to give it a 4 star for that one little bump in the road I do have to say this to the writer Good job for ur next book make Lena be outshined by a new boy at school that would be fun😄 great job w book
Honestly, this is my least favourite of all the three books I've read so far (of the series). It's not a bad book per se- it's cute and fluffy and all, but I just wish we could have seen some of Harper's imperfections and gotten more depth where Emerson was concerned. We could see everything of Harper, and little to nothing about Emerson- all we know about him is that he is a bad boy with parental issues, not what led him to being so closed off and stuff. That was frustrating, honestly.
Other than that, no complaints! Recommended to those looking for a light, fun read!
#GoodGirlBadBoy (#BestFriendsForever #3) was a great read by Yesenia Vargas. On Harper's first day at Westwood High, she saw Emerson Lopez across the cafeteria and fell for him. But her friend's insist he's bad news, and the rumor states that he isn't interested in relationships. Emerson doesn't even know Harper exists. But the summer unexpectedly brings them together. Harper may be the only person that can save Emerson from himself, that is if he wants to be saved. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
Another installment in the BFF series. This time Harper's story. Harper is left alone during the summer as her bffs are on holiday! Unfortunately, Harper has to make up some credits that got lost when she transferred so it's back to school. Here she ends up working with Emerson, the local bad boy. How will that turn out? Again, there is the social and moral element - to look beyond appearances and that people can change. Cute YA romance I received an ARC from the author.
Best of the series so far! Okay, so overall feel like book one was bad, book two was a step in the right direction, book perfect teen romance novel! I’m super happy that I continued reading this series. Yes, Harper is way too nice but I think it definitely works. I like how this is a clean cut teen novel. I would definitely recommend it. There was a few typo errors and I would have liked to know more about Emerson. I give it a 4.8
I didn’t think this could get better than Tori’s story, because that one was pretty good, but it waaaas. This was super corny and classic, with the good girl falling for the bad boy with a huge heart of gold :) I loved the ending. With everyone coming together for ice cream, and Harper learning how to skateboard. I didn’t think I’d get hooked into the this series, but I am. I seriously can’t wait to read Lena’s story :))
**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** I enjoyed it I swear but....I don't know there was something missing. Harper fought for Emerson way too much than she should have, for god's sake they weren't even official. I understand she felt like she had to. But he was a really rude ass. And she forgave him too quickly. WHY??!!!! HE HAD TO WORK FOR IT!!!! Lmao I don't mean to be tough on the guy but...he really was rude. Anyway it was a good book. I still think #The Real Cinderella wins XD
If you like a series that has the original characters in it, but the focus is on other characters, this is a good series. The main character of this one is likeable. This story seemed less realistic, but okay. Summer school for a smart girl because her "credits didn't transfer"? Yea no... But the plot without that was good. And it was an original idea, unlike the first book of the series. 7.5/10. Good third story. If I could read more by her, I would.
Well… the title says it all. Harper is the perfect good girl and Emerson is the perfect bad boy. She changes him and he changes her. Not much of a unique storyline. But it's cute nevertheless to read teen romances. But like the other books. It wasn't that deep. It's fun. And I think I might've felt Emerson has depth than the other male characters in the series. All in all.. it was a fun read. I love their friendship though. All five of them are always there for each other.. It reminds me so much of my own crazy peeps. (That's bittersweet!) Welp.. it was definitely worth reading once atleast
Well what can i say...... Another excellent book to add to this excellent series. I loved finding more out about Harper, and meeting Emerson and seeing how he changes from the bad boy. A very sweet book you won't be disappointed.
I requested an arc copy of this book, in return for a honest review. I loved the book can wait to find out more about lena and rey.
