Pilates is known for its ability to strengthen the core, sculpt long, lean muscles, and increase strength & flexibility. Pilates can help anyone, of any age and any fitness level. This book is structured in a way that guides you on the Pilates journey. Part One introduces you to the philosophy and principles of Pilates. Terms and words associated with Pilates are introduced. Part Two has 50 exercises including warms-ups and cooldowns. You’ll get Level 1 & 2 programs and supplemental strengthening exercises. Bonus: Pilates is very affordable. All you need is comfy clothes and a quiet and calming space. If not exercising on carpet, you will need a mat. All exercises are clearly defined and have illustrations.

This book was very informative. I've been doing Pilates for quite some time - but after reading this book, I learned more about the origin, and fundamentals of Pilates - I also developed new techniques, and methods. The Corp sisters went into in-depth details about all the repetitions; how to execute them; how to modify them. They did a really good job! It was well-written.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you're a Pilates enthusiast or new to Pilates, I would highly recommend reading this book. 👍

This is a helpful overview of beginning floor exercises in Pilates. I don't think anything can match the helpfulness of in-person lessons, but I find this useful to help me remember the names and sequence of each exercise in the beginner series. This book has a useful glossary of common terms.

Practical and nonaggressive.

Practical. Well explained with good illustrations. Simple, nonaggressive program with levels that aim to build up flexibility and endurance. Low to no impact. Resource links provided.
