This is a great series for new readers! Love the illustration of Piggy, the bank manager’s big, shiny, brand-new “Porke power car”—complete with a pig snout and license plate, “PIGGY 1.” I like the way Detective Paw always says, “Everyone calm down, I will get to the bottom of this,” and then pops a peppermint into his mouth.
I love the part where Dorothea the cashier takes 2nd place in the spelling bee for misspelling the word, “bumfuzzle.”
I also wish all problems in the world could be “two-peppermint problems.”

Time to Read Book - Level 3. Longer sentences, harder words, less pictures, short paragraphs, more complex story.

I bought this book for two sets of grandchildren - they loved it. They loved the jeopardy of it. I know it is for certain reading ages - but I loved reading it to them!
