Kevin and Jeremy think that a vacation at the end of the summer will be the perfect way to start their new year at college. Sun, surf, and a fun anniversary gift from their neighbors is the perfect way to celebrate. Unfortunately, the past keeps rearing its controlling, judgmental head. But Jeremy and Kevin aren’t willing to back down any longer—they’re done running.

Leaving everything behind and starting fresh at college was supposed to help them break away from a past that would never accept their relationship. But some people don’t understand when to give up and walk away. Luckily, Jeremy and Kevin aren’t alone when it comes to defending their love. With their new friends and the amazing family they’ve found, they know there’s nothing they can’t overcome.

I enjoyed this series - especially with Maddox & Bryan becoming an equal part of the storyline ... the friendship and love for each other was beautiful

There was literally no point to this book. Why on earth did the author make this 7 books? Does she want us to remember that their walls are paper thin and the entire apartment complex can hear them have sex? Check. Or maybe it's that Kevin likes to act bad so that he can get a spanking? Check.

Ugh...Get on with the story already.

2.5 stars. I really enjoyed the first few books in this series. This book seemed pretty pointless.

Kevin never fails to crack me up and lift my mood! And Jeremy is the best Dom a brat could ever ask for. Love these guys so much!

this is a sweet little series following two brothers so every book ends loosely tied up with a non-urgent cliffhanger. i'm a bit bored of it by now so i won't read any further, but i imagine they'd make nice fillers between dramatic reads or when you're in a book slump.

Kevin and Jeremy come together as more than brothers in the first book and the following installments are more or less narrating the days of their lives after coupling. with college, work, a good therapist, found family, and some minor characters creating some conflict, you get a good bit of everything. there's plenty of taboo spice and lots of fluffy moments.

a lot of the story is just random shit happening, ngl. i reached my fill on the pointless interactions and conversations that don't contribute to the plot in any way. but if you like character driven romances with a touch of the forbidden, they're fantastic. nothing too angsty or high drama, just easy reading. this is a 2.5 for me, but the first three were better.

Kevin and Jeremy are off on their first vacation together. They are a great couple, so happy and in love. The teasing and banter between them was fun. They are super cute and sexy together.

"There are some days when I question your sanity. Then there are days I question mine for putting up with your crazy." The laughter in his eyes made it impossible not to grin.
"Then there are days you love me so much you want to give me everything and spoil me." I threw my arms around him again. "Those are my favourite. Then the spanking days when you're frustrated, because those are fun too."

Their friendship with Brian and Maddox is as strong as ever. Together the two couples along with Brian's mum have made their own family.
Jeremy is still concerned about their mother making things difficult for them.

I love this series so much. The author takes a taboo relationship and makes it beautiful, honest and believable. I really hope we get Detective Avery's story soon!!

The drama from the previous book reaches resolution, but not really because of anything the boys do about it. And since I'm finding myself less and less enamored of their repetitive antics, I think I'll call this series finished for now.

This book had a little feel of daddy/little play. I wasn’t feeling it. I don’t know. I was hoping for something a little more natural. All the sex scenes seem to choreographed. Long... drawn out scenes.
I thought the boys would switch who does what in the bedroom. But that only happened once (book 2 I believe) and it didn’t feel totally natural... because Jeremy was still calling the shots.

I stop reading D/s books a while ago. I guess you can say I’ve moved on from it. I like when things just go with the flow. Not so much focus on the control of things.

Overall... I feel this book lost its voice in book 3 and it just carried on over into this book. I felt things could’ve been better handled with certain situations in this book.
Especially the whole mother issue.

I also felt like I was missing something with the detective in this book. Like there was a bigger story with him. But once again we get nothing about him or why he was so ok with Kevin and Jeremy relationship.

3,5 stars... Maybe I need to have a few days break before I continue with Kevin and Jeremy's story.
The first two books were so great, but books 3 and 4 feel more like fillers to me...
I mean they are alright and I totally love the boys. And it was nice to see them enjoying a beach holiday, but the beauty and the interest of this series was the brothers falling in love taboo. That fact has somehow taken back seat and it's more about Kevin being a total kid all the time and Jeremy keeping it all together, basically being a daddy without taking it to the kinky side. It is fun and all but don't really feel like them. The slight dom/sub play in the bedroom yes, but the Kevin goofing around and Jeremy calling him 'brat'.... I don't know, for some reason it's just not working for me, even though I see the boys are doing it more as a foreplay than anything else.

Kevin & Jeremy go on vacation during the summer and have a great time. When school starts back up, they run into Charlie and discover the truth behind who has been interfering in their lives. They confront other people from their past and work towards making new friends who also have kinky interests.
While I wouldn’t mind reading more about the brothers, the story pretty much ends with an HEA

*****
POV... multi first person

Standalone or series... book 4 in series NOT recommended as standalone

Hangover... slight

Recommend... yes

Reread... yes

Jeremy and Kevin are back, and this book is a terrific addition (and possible conclusion?) to their story. Jeremy is the worrier and caretaker who wants to keep anything bad from ever again touching the man he loves. Kevin is the goofball and loving brat who wants Jeremy to be able to relax and stop working and worrying so much. They take their first vacation as a couple, and it's wonderful! They enjoy the beach, along with donuts, spankings, and bondage. I love seeing how free Kevin feels during this trip, and his inner arguments are hysterical. Jeremy has superhuman levels of patience! The guys return home to get ready for a new semester at school and spend time with Bryan and Maddox, who are like family to the guys. Unfortunately, they also have to deal with a few people who cause them nothing but stress.
I've loved Jeremy and Kevin since meeting them in Too Close to Love, the first book in this series. Things happened in that book that changed the trajectory of their relationship, and all I wanted was for them to be happy and secure. As their series continued, and I also got to see more of them in the Pieces series (which features Bryan and Maddox), my feelings have only grown stronger. I just want the world to leave these guys alone and let them live in peace, wrapped in the love they share and that of their chosen family. While I am happy with the way this book ended, I do hope to see more of this couple; and I'd be especially thrilled if they were to make an appearance in a story I'm hoping for about a very interesting police detective! This author keeps giving me characters I don't want to let go, while also introducing others I want to know more about. I hope that never changes!

As of this point, there are six books in this series, but this, the fourth book, is the first with a sense of HFN/HEA. Before that it felt like “to be continued“. Like it was one long story in multiple parts.

Book 1 & 2 were published back-to-back.
Book 3 was published a year later — after the four part series focused on Bryan and Maddox (which I’ve yet to read).
Book four, later in the same year.
Book five came after Ryland, Finn, and Jay’s stories.
And book six came out a month ago.

No book for Detective Avery yet?

This is all to say, well, I’m wondering if I should catch up with Bryan and Maddox’s story before I move on to book 5.

*****

Anyway, back to this book.

After a rough beginning to the summer with the cop scare, this books picks up later that summer, on the anniversary of Kevin & Jeremy’s first kiss — a fitting time for their first vacation together. A weekend at the beach where Kevin is looking forward to surf lessons, homemade doughnuts, and orgasms.

Kevin does passably well at surfing, eats a belly full of doughnuts, and their anniversary sexy fun time includes restraints, a cockring, and more of Jeremy topping from the bottom. (Ride ‘em cowgirl.)

After their vacation, Kevin is on a mission to buy a fryer so he can make his own doughnuts. He and Bryan run into Detective Avery Davidson in the appliance aisle. After an initial “oh shit” they have a pleasant exchange and Detective Avery leaves Kevin with an open offer to help.

But other encounters are less pleasant, including one with the creepy girl upstairs, one with their mother, and a strange exchange with their father.

*****

If my dirty fairy godfather had popped in just over a year ago and said that with his magic wand he could make Jeremy love me like I’d wanted him to for so long and make him a sexy Dom who wanted to control me in bed, I’d have thought I was insane. No amount of magic could have existed to make that happen.

But it had.

Jeremy was real, and we were together.

A year has passed since Jeremy and Kevin had their first kiss,
a year since they gave into their feelings, and took on the world.
Their love for each other is strong, but trying to live a life as normal as possible
is not as easy as they had hoped.
Trying to study and make ends meet,
trying to stay under the radar, and away from prying eyes.
Holding onto the few people who do understand,
and making a new family is taking it's toll on them.
Jeremy is working and stressing too much and Kevin is worried for him.
A vacation is just the answer...

A carefree time at the beach, with too many donuts is relaxing the boys,
and well timed gift from their friends Maddox and Bryan a real treat.

Jeremy and Kevin discover the delights in a D/s relationship,
their friendship with the boys stronger, they delve more in to the "alternative lifestyle".
As always their past is perilously close,
will their mother muddy the waters and get the boys in to trouble again?
Can they stay at college or be outed and dismissed ?
Why can't their love be accepted for what it is ?

Another enjoyable chapter in the lives of Jeremy & Kevin
and Maddox & Bryan.

I am sad, because this is the first time i didn't give 5 star to one of Shaw's book. But there is always a first time to everything... but this book was nothing... Really nothing. It was like the time stopped and nothing is happening. The story wasn't going anywhere and the characters were just talking to each other about nothing at all. It was boring.

Loved that we got to see Kevin and Jeremy being able to enjoy life by going on vacation. Of course a little drama had to come up with people trying to pull them apart and control their lives. But that didn't stop our boys. They also realize that their found family and new friends will stand with them. I really enjoy being able to see them grow and work on over coming so many things that keep popping up.

Perfect!

This was absolutely perfect. Not only did we get to see the guys celebrate a year together, we also got closure on many things. It also looks like their wild might be expanding as well. This felt like the end of the series to me. I know we will get more about them though because of their close ties with Bryan and Maddox. The best way to close this out.

No one needs a vacation more than Jeremy and Kevin! Although they have started a new life and have found an accepting family, there is still unfinished business hanging over their heads. This book highlights the benefits of finding your community and staying true to yourself. Sometimes you even get more than expected!

Loved!!!!

Kevin and Jeremy, oh I could read about them forever. This book is amazing, very well rounded. A continuation of Jeremy and Kevin's summer vacation. Lots of sweet feels and hot sexiness. Funny too. Love their relationship with Maddox and Bryan. I would love to read more about them too. Basically I could just keep reading and reading about these four guys!
Awesome!

It took me awhile to fall in love

With these two but the more I read the more I love them. I’m sad that they are coming off the zon but glad I got to read it before that happened. I also hope Shaw will expand their world and write about some of these secondary characters that are joining in.

The first part of the book gave me Fifty Shades Freed vibes. Everyone's relationships and friendships continue to grow. I love Kevin and Bryan's friendship. It was the highlight of the book for me. Jeremy's chapters were kind of boring and repetitive. I missed jealous Jeremy.

Too Close to Fall is the fourth book in the Loving series by M.A. Innes. I've read this book a couple of years ago for the first time and it's a favorite of mine. I love Kevin and Jeremy!! This book was another amazing addition to their story. Their story is sweet, sexy, full of feels and so very well written. (I honestly hope this series never ends!)
