I live in Leeds a vibrant city in the North of the UK. I’ve always loved reading, and one of my fondest memories from childhood was the weekly visits to the library with my dad. It always seemed such a magical place to escape into through the books I read on a weekly basis.

I’d not really thought about writing in my adult life until I was introduced to the world of Fanfiction and after reading so many I found myself making friends through this new media. My friend, Lori, told me to have a go at writing one, and I did. That work took on a life of its own and opened my eyes to the possibilities. This allowed me to get used to plotting a story and while making the characters my own. I also started to beta/pre read for others and discovered, that much to my surprise, they valued my opinion and input.

Making the move to write M/M or slash as it’s known, took me a little longer. After becoming good friends with a wonderful lady from Illinois called Angela, who told me (repeatedly), “You should write slash, I think you’d be good at it.” I shied away from the idea for so long, but the seed was firmly sown in my mind and soon took root and a life of its own. I decided to write a short piece as a surprise gift for Angela’s birthday that year. Emailing it to her, given the time difference between the UK and US this meant I was desperately waiting for her to see it and I think I heard her delighted scream.

Thanks to this, and working on writing group competition, I soon found that I preferred writing M/M to M/F.

In 2013 fate intervened and I lost my job. Through my new one, I met Nicole Colville, and the rest is history. This marked the start of a beautiful friendship. She encouraged me to make the switch to writing original fiction, and I signed up to Nano Wri Mo 2013, but due to changing jobs I couldn’t do it. In 2014 I signed up again, and smashed the 50K word goal in 30 days, with a story I love and am proud of.

I’ve been beta/pre reading for Nicole over 17 books now (including the 10 shorts in Knights) and the confidence she inspires in me has been invaluable in me joining this anthology, even though I think the word ‘no’ doesn’t feature in her vocabulary.

I've always known that l can't read horror stories,
even the covers make my blood run cold.
However , when an author l admire decides to write a Halloween story
l know that l will try my best to get through it.
What a good decision that turned out to be, this story was a treat for the senses.
Pure chilling , heart pounding words...
That first chapter, OMG !!!

Wicker Falls, with a name like that you know you should stay well clear.
With a folklore that keeps strangers away,
and residents that watch everyone that comes to their town with trepidation.

Not forgetting the woods, that give a perpetual feeling of being watched.

Wicker Falls is not a romantic place to spend time with your lover,
a cabin in the woods might look beautiful on paper, but what about the creepy
chilling atmosphere?
As Logan and Adam are about to find out, when they visit the cabin.

This short story is packed full of creepy and scary scenes.
The more l read , the more anxious l began to feel,
l got goosebumps so many times.
There were many parts that actually made me jump,
and an ending that l did not see coming.

A perfect story for Halloween.

Torn by Louisa Mae twists and turns from cover to cover. Full of evil and mayhem this supernatural mystery is one heck of a roller coaster ride. With intensity and chills constant from the first chapter to the last, you never get a break from the pandemonium.

Rustic Wicker Falls appears to be the perfect romantic getaway location. Not so! From appearances, the town is quaint and perfect; but once its vibe sets in, you get creepy crawlers covering your body.

A year ago, Logan and Adam traveled to Wicker Falls for a romantic vacation that ended with disaster and heartache. Adam, Logan’s one true soulmate, went missing…. The authorities all but turn their backs on the disappearance. Adam will have none of this and so takes matters into his own hands. With determination he turns amateur sleuth and WOW, the discoveries he uncovers.

‘Torn’ by Louisa Mae twists and turns from cover to cover. Full of evil and mayhem this supernatural mystery is one heck of a roller coaster ride.

The sense of being watched surrounds you as the mysterious actions and reactions of the townsfolk unfold. While you suffer heart palpitations, the legend and folklore slowly reveal themselves, and the secret behind Adam’s disappearance becomes clear with twisted fascination. What a doozy!

Ready for a tale that keeps you looking over your shoulder and gives you the heebie-jeebies? Grab a copy of Torn, turn out the lights and prepare to be jumping out of your skin with every errant sound you hear while reading. The surprise of Torn must be experienced firsthand to enjoy!

I ordered this as i was reading some of this authors works and had no clue it was a vampire style read... no way would i have read it if i knew, but i read every single last word of this as its very well written and doesnt wholly focus on the vampire aspect.
Logan is desperately looking for his boyfriend Adam after he went missing on holiday a year before.
But does he get the answers he wants?
Bumps in the road, secrets and bizarre happenings all in this shorter fast paced read.

What do you call a book that keeps you guessing and on edge? Amazing! And really that’s all I can say about this. I was hooked from the first chapter and never expected the twists that came throughout right up to the very end. Nothing was what I expected, but most definitely did not disappoint at all. I only wish I could read it for the first time again. Do yourself a favour and read Torn - in daylight, not alone.......

I would have loved this story to have been longer. It would have allowed some of the themes to have grown further.
