What is better than a good suspense? Why 3 in a set so you can go on to get your fill of intrigue and mysteries that curl the toes. It will have you looking around you also as you enter into each looking at things just a tad different maybe. In the first one you enter the dark at Everett. Brooke and Jessica take you on to cope with a blizzard that will bring out the worst in anyone. Then there is the next one that covers the perfect crime if there is one. Brooke is that medical student and then there is Rachael whom is there one minute and the next she is gone. You help them search for the answers, you just cannot help but not to do that.
Then lastly the last one she is a intern our Brooke is with more suspense to come into play. By now I think she is a magnet for murder to happen lol. This mystery has you digging deep with whizzing along for the answers. This set feeds that need for the thrill to deep suspense that this author can deliver with unexpected results.

A surprisingly good read!

I was both drawn to and repelled by Brooke, who grew progressively more interesting over the three books.

Interesting to see a female character with these traits. Loved it!

Such a wonderful bad girl!

I was hooked from the start! We've all known that perfect someone who seems too good to be true, but until I met Brooke Walton I hadn't seen their darker sides. Driven, relentless, hyper focused, intense...all admirable qualities for someone planning too be a surgeon. But these traits also create the "monster". Like all the most vicious and notorious serial killers, she possesses the ability to put on the necessary masks and fakes normal emotions that fool those around her...and pretty girls are always assumed to be what shows on the surface. I'm looking forward to following Brooke into the next book!

Brooke Walton has a goal and she won’t allow anyone to distract her

I read the first book, Everett, when it was a “free” through Bookbub. I had no idea there were 2 more books following the life of Ms Walton. Think of Hannibal or Dexter, their actions may be brutal but you can’t help but like them. Brooke wants to be a surgeon, her fascination with anatomy and the workings of the human body were sparked by a chance encounter with the carcass of a cat. She is a perfectionist, intelligent and focused, not your average psychopath. Jennifer Ruff writes a compelling story that will have flipping pages long after your bedtime.

I am breathless

This book series is insane. Brooke is so deeply well built that there's no way not love her - or maybe hate her. I loved the storyline, the third book is the best one, although the three of them are really good. I'm deeply satisfied with the ending, I was afraid things would turn out the other way around, and am so glad they didn't. Jenifer is incredible, I'm a huge fan. Everything she writes is exceptional.

I really enjoyed these three books. I was actually rooting for the killer to get away with her killings. The writer writes in a grand way that makes you feel the main character's motives and why she is doing what she does. I loved the plot. I wish there was more of the series that the author would write. I am going to be following this author for more of her work!

Different! Riveting! Definitely worth a read.

An amazing effort to have the reader see through the eyes of a heroine who is so well written, that one finds oneself nodding in agreement as she rationalizes her kills. I was very much entertained, and that is one of my highest accolades.

Wow

It is frightening to know there are people like Brooke in real life, psychopaths that can fit in to society.
The author's portrayal is knowledgeable and scary. Her knowledge of medical school and procedures is awesome. I am a nurse and I was impressed.

I finished all three books but I really did not enjoy them as much as I thought I would. However I did like the ending of Book 3. There wasn’t much mystery involved. You know who the killer is and just keep reading to see if she gets caught.

Brooke

I loved each of these psychological thrillers . I found myself wondering if I was a sociopath deep down, because I was always rooting for Brooke not to be caught! I. Hope there is a sequel to this series!

Engrossing

Discovered this series as a free Amazon download. I was captivated by the books. Suprised a tale of a sociopathic killer would be so engrossing. Relieved it is fiction.

A bit word-y

I normally do not read a series continuously. So same went for this series. Overall enjoyable but could have been completed in 2 books.

Wonderful

This was a really good story in an unusual vein with a quite unexpected end. About seeing a killer from the other side.

Have to say Brooke was a smart but not a person to admire. You keep reading because you want to see what she does next. It makes you fear there are too many like her out there a dnd it did not surprise me that the government snatched her up as our government is detached in feelings as she was. I would like you to write a sequel to see what adventures the government sends her on.

A fairly good read with a lot of action and a very different ending. Look for book 3 of Brooke Walton.

After taking a break from this dreck to read a good thriller, I realized I’m done giving this a chance. Glad I didn’t waste much money.

Wow

Fast paced and lots of twists and turns. Frighteningly realistic. It’s scary thinking of an author that can come up with these stories!
