L.M. Lacee introduces her first omnibus edition in the popular Dragon's Gap Saga.
This digital box set contains the first, second and third romantic adventures PLUS a bonus novella:
Reighn & Sage's Story: Reighn had no idea when he woke one morning what the day was about to deliver. For a thousand years he had waited for his shadow and by the end of the day he would not only have his long desired mate but TWO YOUNG DAUGHTERS as well!
Sharm & Edith's Story: This is the second fantasy dragon romance book in the series 'Dragon's Gap' where we meet Edith Black who is a full bear that grew up thinking she was human. Edith is a bear that, for so long, could not shift or communicate with her other half. After she has been at Dragon’s Gap for two months this all changes so whether it is the influence of all the other shifters or the Dragon magic that fills the air, Edith’s bear starts to talk to her.
Storm and Charlie's Story: This is an inspirational romance fantasy about two people who deal in war. They must learn that they need to embrace their softer natures when their shape shifting young children need them to take on the roles of their parents. Both Charlie and her dragon shadow, Storm, find themselves rising to the occasion.
Love's Catalyst: Lars and Claire met because Kammy, Claire's adopted daughter wanted her own daddy that can fly and her new awakening instincts as a tiger cub lead her to Lars. Lars Axton, Prime to the Dragon Lord, decides to visit the vibrant town of Dragon's Gap and finds, not only a good cup of coffee but a hesitant shadow and a little girl who informs him he is her new daddy. What is a dragon to do?
This series has grown on me. It was a rough beginning and yes it desperately needs editing but Storm and Charlie’s book won me over.
Reighn and Sage - 3*
This book had potential and I read to the end which says something. But the writing is not good. It’s all over the place. It doesn’t flow and honestly it’s a bit of a mess. That said I’m considering continuing on. I’m hoping the writing improves and I’m curious where it’s going.
Sharm and Edith’s - 3*
I nearly didn’t make it past the first chapter. I don’t know if it’s just me but the conversation between Edith and her bear had me cringing.
The writing here is better than the previous book but…
I’m not sure what’s going on here it feels more like a soap opera. But it’s an easy read which is all I’m wanting at the moment so I might continue on with it.
Storm and Charlie’s - 4*
This was my favourite so far and to think I nearly didn’t read it.
The previous two books have been okay but it seemed to be getting a bit samey. I took a break, read a couple of other books then thought I’d give it one more try. This one started really well. I liked Charlie from the get go and it’s a two for one since we get another romance as well.
I now have high hopes for the next book. So cross your fingers I’m diving straight in.
This series has all the elements of an excellent read. I don't know what the author's background is, but the books are ruined by a constant flow of sentence fragments, run on sentences, poor punctuation, and a full range of flaws that would get an "F" grade in a high school class. I'm sorry, but the series is nowhere close to its potential, which is sad
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. That said, these books need an editor! As much as I love the story, I felt like I was reading an eighth-grader's writing assignment. The sentence structure is horrible and many words were used improperly, making the books feel like they were written by a child or a non-native English speaker. If these stories were edited, I would give them at least 4 stars!

Great series, the stories aren't stand alone. Each book is the story of one couple, who's story advances the overall story line. A lot of fun and interesting of primary and secondary character. There are seven Kingsley brothers. Four by birth and three by adoption. The friends that the women have made that have become family too.
Great series, sometimes hard to read as much feels like you are reading a newspaper article rather than a book. With CHARACTER P.O.V but is still such great stories that are addictive you ignore many grammatical errors and discombobulated writing. If you can get past all that. You will enjoy the stories and characters themselves

The three books in this set contain our introduction to a paradigm shift in this fantasy. Once, the Goddess chose wolf shifters to be her chosen race to rule, but her agreement with their King and Queen was spelled our clearly in it's expectations and yet the King and Queen ignored their obligations to the Goddess and did harm to the vulnerable ones she required them to protect. The Goddess responded justly and shifted her efforts to accomplish her original purpose with a new race, with an evolution among the world of shifters. Change is ongoing in this new way of things. The time of wolf shifters is dying, and the rise of dragons and dragon magic has come.
Book 1 tells our opening story of the Goddess, the Elementals, and Sage our heroine wolf shifter and witch. Sage is the beginning of new things, and becomes the Shadow to Reighn the Dragon Lord. Both pure of heart and just in deed. Sage is the head of the Goddesses spear for change and Reighn is the wise Dragon who sees her for all she is and cannot help but be impressed by her.
Book 2 is Sharm and Edith's piece of the story. Sharm is a healer, dragon, royal, brother to Reighn. Edith is a null bear, mut more importantly she is a grounder. Enter the faeries, and one crappy spy for the High Queen Faery, and we have a lot of additional challenges in Dragon's Gap.
Book 3 tells the stories of Storm and Charlie... and Keeper and Ella's. Storm is a warrior, long searching for his Shadow, and so close to giving up. Charlie is a bit of a mystery, but also an assassin. Charlie brings justice wherever she may be. And Storm and the family bring love to Charlie. Charlie arrives in Dragons Gap with children she has rescued, and so many new threads are opened up with her arrival. Keeper has been courting Ella's (healer working with Sharm for 5 years now) although she may have missed the memo. He's also a warrior, but like his father Rene he is also a keeper (mental health resource for the dragon community) and a hoarder of books. Ella's is our story's Cinderella...and the evil stepmother and stepsisters do show up.
Life and community are growing in Dragon's Gap.. and I'm quite ready to continue into the next set of stories.
I liked the characters and the story isn't bad, but I found the horrible sentence structure very distracting. There are commas in odd places for no reason, creating pauses that shouldn't be there, so the sentence makes no sense and it has to be read again to decipher the meaning. Moreover, there are periods where there should be commas, creating sentence fragments on practically every page (if not every paragraph). There are also numerous sentence fragments that are just adverbial phrases without the clauses they are meant to modify (usually the rest of the thought is found in the next sentence fragment). Some paragraphs are nothing but a single fragment of a sentence.
In addition, the spelling errors also make it really difficult to understand the meaning of some sentences. Again, they create a sense of confusion until the reader re-reads the passage while mentally correcting the misspelled word.
It's bizarre. I've seen strange grammar in e-books on free websites, but I never saw one this bad from Amazon. This is particularly unfortunate, because aside from the lack of editing, the stories are engaging and heartwarming with a delightful premise and magical characters. The plots are appealing and enjoyable, although the conclusions to the stories seem somewhat forced and quick. The narratives are lacking a satisfying denouement where all remaining questions are addressed and we have a complete picture of the characters and their lives moving forward.
L.M. Lacee’s Dragon’s Gap Saga Omnibus is a heartwarming and imaginative collection that brings together the first three books in the series—Reighn & Sage, Sharm & Edith, Storm & Charlie—plus the bonus novella Love’s Catalyst. This fantasy romance box set is rich in emotion, magic, and the theme of found family.
In Reighn & Sage’s Story, a Dragon Lord finds not only his long-awaited mate but also two surprise daughters, setting the tone for a saga filled with unexpected love. Sharm & Edith follows a woman who learns she’s actually a bear shifter, discovering her true self in a magical community. Storm & Charlie brings together two warriors learning to be parents, while Love’s Catalyst delivers a sweet, fated romance sparked by a child’s innocent wish.
Lacee’s world is vivid and full of heart, blending fantasy and romance in a way that celebrates connection, healing, and destiny. A must-read for fans of shifter stories and feel-good fantasy romance.
I beg the author of these books to find a good editor and a bunch of decent arc readers to go through these books and fix all of the grammatical errors and plot holes.
The storyline itself promises to be brilliant, but even after struggling through the entire first book, I am still at a loss as to where or what Dragon Gap is, why people are going there, what is happening to those left behind, and what period of time is taken from beginning to end of the tale.
There are lots of moments of explanation, but they never seem to fully explain anything, and the whole story jumps around a bit.
That being said, once edited this book promises to be great! Unfortunately it really is almost unreadable at the moment.
Read the first three of these books in just 4 nights. I really enjoyed them. I love any books with dragons even though I am a 64 year old grandma. I usually share them with my teenage grandaughters who also enjoy them. Last night as soon as I had finished book 3, I bought books 4-6 directly from my Kindle and started book 4 as I couldn't wait. I found the story lines and the characters good, they are well written and interesting. However as has been pointed out by others there were many spelling and grammatical errors in the books which can be a bit off-putting, really just needs a good proof reader and these would be much better. Despite that small hiccup I still give then 5 stars. See you all in Dragon's Gap later
The story being told is interesting. The characters show growth from one book to the next.
However, the mechanical errors (missed or incorrect punctuation, missing words, incorrect word choices) lead me to believe the author used word processing software and relied on that rather than proper proofreading.
I noted each problem in my e-reader. By the end of this three book omnibus, I had marked over 250 problems. That being the case, it is my opinion that this is still a work-in-progress and should be removed from online booksellers until such time as the above problems have been addressed. I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone spend money to purchase this set until the numerous errors have been addressed.
I will not be spending money on the next omnibus in this series until Amazon notifies me there is an update for this set.
This series is so beautiful, tho it describes some of the darkest parts of life. It reaffirms that love conquers all, family and friends are the truest treasures of life, and a foundation of true caring can create a place if sanctuary. I read some of the earlier reviews, and I am sad for those who let grammar or other concerns keep them from seeing this series for the excellence it represents. I found the baby speak sweet and realistic, not a reason to disparage the books. This is my third time reading the series, and I applaud the writer for the concept of such a welcoming sanctuary.
I really Liked the values and conversations characters had between other characters. Showed how the family was built, maintained and all loved. The little kids characters were fun and thoughtful. I recommend the books. I liked that the bonding was about love, caring and getting to know each other without the vivid matings in other shifter/dragon Novels. I do think the typos should be looked at. Sometimes I had to reread the conversations to get the correct thoughts. Misspelled words, missing words and incorrect words got in the way. But the books are definitely worth reading for the characters and their progression in the books.
DNF 20%. Yes it has. Terrible, editing. (I mean seriously it's like that, I'm not exaggerating). I could probably look past editing with a good story, but in this book it's so distracting. At times, the writing is so messy it's hard to get a grasp on what's going on, who's talking, etc. Also, the author writes using a lot of hyperbole and insta-everything. Insta-love, insta-friendship, and insta-parenting. Yes insta-parenting- I'm still not entirely sure how that works. Maybe I didn't read long enough, but the main characters are pretty generic and not endearing in any way. The world building is somewhat interesting, but I'd just rather go read something else honestly.
I truly enjoyed these stories. Each family wove thru the series, showing life in a large, loving home. I giggled. I cried. I wanted to kill the bad guys right along with the heros and heroine's. But, cruddy punctuation, horrid spelling, and bad formatting made it rough to read. The 3rd book even had such a big error that chapter 34 and 36 were the exact same, but there was NO chapter 35. Major plot drivers were often referenced that either weren't in this omnibus (Lars & Charlie) or maybe got skipped over. Hopefully, the individual books are better, but these omnibus versions are....shaky
These stories have so much potential. However, as many others have mentioned, they are hard to read due to sentence structure. There are a lot of characters and there were several times I didn't realize who was who.
The main problem I have is also, the author gets right up to the edge of where there story gets good, and then just glosses over everything to get to the end. The details just aren't there and there are a few continuity issues.
Mainly, a good editor and some more writing is desperately needed for these series. I got through this book, but couldn't convince myself that I cared enough to continue with the others.
Interesting new world of shifters, witches and dragons.
I have enjoyed the first three stories and novella set in Dragon’s Gap. It is a world of fantastic dragon shifters who offer refuge to half shifter/half human females who have been treated as low born slaves by full shifters for many years. The sanctuary in Dragon’s Gap becomes a home and dragons find their ‘shadows’ or mates among these strong women. There are drastic changes as some dragons hold with maintaining pure blood lines and are aghast at the changes as they occur. The series shows how tolerance and love can overcome bigotry, the stories contain humour as well as drama and intrigue.
Enjoyed this series. Totally different from my usual genres. Characters were fun and interesting. However, these books are in need of some major editing. Book three was not too bad. But the first two books were very difficult to read. Sentences in need of commas. Sentences ending abruptly or starting in mid thought. Some sections read as if they were edited by someone who did not have English as their first language. These books need to be pulled, thoroughly edited and then republished.
I borrowed this set 3 times before actually reading it. I am so mad at myself for that. I found a story that was filled with, love, family, mystery and happiness. The characters put a smile on my face and it stayed there throughout the set. This series told a story of the love of a mother and father that goes beyond the surface of a child. The skin of the child never entered into the love of the child. If the world could find the capability to do as this author has written we would be better off. Thank you for a wonderful story.
Let me start by saying this is a good series, I enjoyed it enough to finish. That said, tge first 2 books are in serious need of editing. Normally I can't finish an unedited book, it drives me crazy. This though had such a good story & world I pushed through. I'm glad I did, because the last book was edited & much easier to get through. I read on the authors site that they were sent to a new editor in March 2020, but I don't think that was possible. I hope the next books are edited better because I would like to read them all.
I enjoyed the three stories in this omnibus. I enjoyed the characters and the world that surrounds them. However there needs to be a good editor to go over the whole book. Punctuation is out of place, words are misspelled and incorrectly used. It was a little jarring to be reading and have to stop and figure what was meant when a comma in the right place would have fixed the whole sentence. Overall I really like this world and the people who are making it a good place for all to live in it.
I am a sucker for stories about mistreated children finding loving homes, but...
This author needs the services of a copy editor and proofreader, stat! Multiple sentence fragments on every page, apostrophes omitted, apostrophes used incorrectly, commas used incorrectly, "to" used for "too" and vice versa, other homonym errors - all these obscured the author's desired meaning and frustrated me no end. Losing patience, I skimmed past many sections in books 1 and 3, and skipped book 2 completely. I doubt that I will ever read this author again.
Interesting characters and storyline. I like seeing more of each character from past books in each new one. I don't like the errors in the writing. The punctuation is off sometimes and it makes it challenging to read/understand. I had to back up and read again. Also, in books 1-3, I didn't get to see how a few of the couples got together. Lars and Claire, for example. Overall a great read. Laughted and cried while I read them. I look forward to the next books in the series.
Sage and others find their Shadows (bond mates) among the royal dragons. Finding the Shadow for whom they have waited for a thousand years does not ensue that everything will go well from the get go. Especially if others with agendas, curses, and spells get in the way. The characters are very strong and compelling. I like the action, humor, and romance. I will be exploring more of their lives and adventures in the next compendium
I really wanted to finish reading this book. The plot elements - dragon shifter king, witch-wolf shifter hybrid, the love story, the societal changes - were compelling. However, the sentence fragments, run-on sentences and inadequate punctuation were so disruptive that I had to stop reading it. If the book were properly edited, I would gladly finish reading it. I will recommend it only after it has been thoroughly and completely revised.
Love this series and can’t wait to read more. Half shifters were being abused and when one was killed, the Goddess saw that it was time for change and led the pack of half shifters to Dragon’s Gap. This was the start of the dragons finding their other half, their shadow. Danger and evil was never far away, even in Dragon’s Gap but love can overcome it. Can’t wait to check out more in this series.
Did the author have anyone proof-read these?! The number of grammatical errors, incorrect use of commas, incomplete sentences completely ruined this series for me. Not to mention: Reighn - really? Fan fiction, much (Channeling JR Ward: Tohrment, Rhage, etc. - it's bad enough in Ward's books)?!
I kept reading because the stories held my interest, but the issues ruined them for me and I won't be reading this author again.
What this needs, is a MASSIVE edit. Sentences chopped. Off in the middle (just like that!) make it hard to get into the flow. And when those sentences get chopped into new paragraphs, it makes it even harder.
Sorry, but not one for me.
Ive tagged it as shifters, cos there were wolves at the beginning but I've no idea if there are any actual dragon shifters in this book, I didn't get that far!
The stories were pretty good. The characters were cute. But there are SO many grammatical errors. Words left out or too many. But the punctuation was atrocious!! Commas placed everywhere. It was nuts. I almost stopped reading, but I hate not finishing books. It drives me nuts. So, I took it as a personal challenge to soldier through the overuse of commas and word misplacement to finish the books. I gave two stars simply for the characters.
