This book illustrates the process that animals go through when building homes or ways to trap food. On one side is a narrative of what each animal does and on the other side is an illustration. This book shows what animals do to survive in the wild in an interactive and eye-catching way.
a lovely book that tells kids all about nest builders. Great info on the different materials they use and the amazing ways nest are built . . . elaborate woven homes, piles of sticks, hidden burrows - all amazing. Not so great for story time, but we had fun talking about the birds and the nests they build.
And So They Build is a child’s introduction to construction by animals. Bert Kitchen provides 12 short descriptions of animal architects (mammals, birds, fish, and insects), along with 12 beautiful illustrations. This short book is a good buy for parents of small children.
Such a lovely children's book, and one likely to inspire new bird-watchers. I always like it when children's books inspire kids to like science, rather than fear it.
