George Hart was a British Egyptologist. He studied classics and Egyptology at University College London. He was a staff lecturer in Egypt and the classical world at the British Museum from 1973 until his retirement in 2004. In addition to his museum work, he also taught Egyptian hieroglyphs and lectured on cruises.
It's very detailed but some paragraphs and information are difficult to understand and some are also a little boring. To sum it up, a great read to deepen your knowledge of the gods of ancient Egypt.
Fairly good resource on The Egyptian pantheon. I came to this book looking to deepen my references for teaching Egyptian art history. For a reader with no prior knowledge in the field I think this book may be cumbersome. My only complaint is that I wish there were more corresponding illustrations for the deities, however I was able to access other resources to give visual substance to the descriptions.
I can't say anything about the accuracy or comprehensiveness, being a n00b at this stuff, but it is damned interesting, and has concise entries on many of the mythical thingies in the mythological thinginess.
