This sleepy dino board book is a prehistoric twist on the popular bedtime lullaby, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!”
Twinkle, twinkle, dinosaur how I like to hear you roar. Stomping through the trees so high, as your friends fly through the sky.
A roaring twist on the popular bedtime nursery rhyme, Twinkle, Twinkle, Dinosaur is the second book in a brand-new board book series that’s perfect for parents and little ones to snuggle up with and share.
First sentence: Twinkle, twinkle, dinosaur, how I love to hear you roar.
Premise/plot: This is a rhyming board book starring dinosaurs. It is loosely inspired by the children's classic "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
My thoughts: Probably the best thing about this one is how thick and sturdy the pages are. Board books have thicker pages, of course, that's what makes them board books. But these are extra-super-thick pages. And the pages do not stick together. Of course, in a perfect world, all board books would have pages that easily turn and never get stuck. But the world we live in, alas, is fallen. This one I thought was better than most in that regards.
As for the actual content, well, I'm no dinosaur enthusiast. Little ones who love, love, love dinosaurs will certainly find it more appealing. The rhyming and rhythm of this one did not annoy me which must mean it gets it right.
This board book is an absolutely adorable and delightful twist on the classic song, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!” Dinosaur stomps through the trees, plays with friends, watches a volcano, and gets tucked into bed in this enchanting story. Whether read or sung, little ones will enjoy the rhyming phrases and colorful illustrations.
What I loved: This charming book is easy to sing and follows the dinosaur around during his day all the way through night. The images are full page and full of color and cuteness. The pages are also nice and thick, making it easy for little fingers to turn them on their own. With friends and parents and gorgeous scenery, this book is sure to enchant a young audience of older infants and toddlers.
Another thing I loved about this book is in the illustrations- the father dinosaur is doing sweeping at the beginning and is participating in putting the baby dinosaur to bed at the end. It seems like a small thing, but I love seeing the father parent doing chores and parenting in kids’ books, where it is typically rare.
Final verdict: TWINKLE, TWINKLE, DINOSAUR is an absolutely wonderful book whether read or sung to be shared with young children. Older infants and toddlers will love the rhyming phrases, bright colors and adorable illustrations, as well as the thick and easy to turn pages. This enchanting song and book are sure to delight the youngest of readers!
Young dinosaur fans' hearts will be right in rhythm with this fun twist on a well-known bedtime song.
A cute, lovable dinosaur...with a fierce roar...wanders over the land, while friends circle above and around him. While the illustrations are kept rather simple, this also allows the focus to remain clear—dinosaurs. These dinos aren't scary but take on a warm atmosphere which leads to the calm needed before a nap or night time sleep.
The book is small and sturdy, just right for little readers' hands. The text is also not too simple or difficult, making it slide right into the middle of the intended age group range. After reading this, a favorite song might take on a slightly different text for awhile, one great for all those dinosaur dreams.
I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed it. So, I'm leaving my thoughts.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Dinosaur is the perfect book to help sing your little dinosaur lovers to sleep. This board book is full of brightly colored illustrations that will spark interesting bedtime conversations. Dinosaurs frolic through the pages accompanied by a text that is easy to sing to everyone's favorite song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. For ages 0 - 4.
In this cute board book there is a play on the rhyme Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star with Dinosaurs! It would be a great addition to a bedtime routine. Reviewer: 7

Hello, friends! Our book today is Twinkle, Twinkle, Dinosaur, written by Jeffrey Burton and illustrated by Zoe Waring, a sweet board book that combines a familiar melody with one of our favorite types of creature!
Part of a series of “Twinkle, Twinkle” reimaginings, (other books feature a unicorn and a fairy friend), our story starts off with an adorable little green theropod dino as he is waved off by his parents to another day of play. He frolics with other dino species like a sauropod, pterosaurs, and a ceratopsid, watches an erupting volcano, and of course, lets out the occasional mighty roar. When day is done, he returns home to his parents, who tuck him into his nest for a cozy night’s sleep.
Adorable. Any little dino lover will delight at the friendly-faced dinosaurs and gentle storytelling. Using such a well-known melody and accessible language allows little readers to join in from the get-go, and simple, colorful illustrations are engaging and fun. It’s a short read, only two verses, making it a great bedtime story for smaller bookworms. JJ loved this one, we had fun reading it together, and it’s Baby Bookworm approved!

While this may seem like a simple book, it was a favourite for my daughter. From the age of 3 to just over 4 we had to read this nightly before bed. The board book sadly broke, and it's taken us a while to find another copy. I am currently waiting for it to be delivered for Christmas so my daughter can read it to her little brother who loves Dinosaurs and the Twinkle Twinkle song. The drawings are super cute, the alteration of the song works, and it's been a perfect addition to our bedtime bookshelf.
Adding to this review because this is the second time I've purchased this book because it was such a favourite of my daughter's (5) that it broke. We now have it for my son (2) to help him go to sleep, as Twinkle Twinkle is his favourite song, and he just loves dinosaurs. The illustrations are adorable, and my kids like pointing different things out (one dinosaur in the book looks like a favourite stuffy we call Denver). The new lyrics were written well to fit with the song, so the kids can sing along and the rhythm remains the same, no crowding words in to make them fit. We read this nightly for well over a year, and now that it's come back to the house, I'm sure it will be on regular rotation again.
