Final book in the post-apocalyptic After The Vendetta Trilogy. ___________________________________________ THE VENDETTA COMES FULL CIRCLE. Following through on that promise, though, might cost her everything. In Remains, the third and final installment in the After The Vendetta story, there is no turning back. In a desolate and unforgiving part of northern Texas, a slayer with nothing to lose and a woman with true grit will find their resilience and courage put to the ultimate test. Whatever happens, it ends here…
I've read everything Purge related - top five favorite author Mr. Sam Sisavath.. Start from the very very beginning of Babylon where it all started...more please. Sam, two requests: 1. go back to the very beginning and write about Maubrey and how the ghouls and blue eyes came to be. 2. Please add me to that special group of pre-release readers.. More, please...

Kept me on the edge of my seat! Man, did this third and final book deliver, I was anxious and stressed the ENTIRE time I was listening! Remains was a wild ride. My anxiety level was through the roof for most of the book. The world building in this series was fantastic. Considering this was the final book in the trilogy, I'm so happy we got both Wash and Ana's points of view. I really missed Wash in book 2! With the way this story was told, it really was necessary for a dual pov. I'm glad we got answers about the blue-eyed, one-eyed ghoul. Talk about a twist! There were a couple things I wished we had gotten clearer answers to, as to what happened. But for one question in particular, I'm choosing to believe everything turned out fine. When I started this series 2 years ago I had no idea it would end up being one of my favorites. And of course I'm kicking myself that it took so long to get back to books 2 and 3, but I think sometimes books come to you at the time you need them. Apparently 2021 was the year I needed post apocalyptic!
Aaron Shedlock was simply perfection as Wash. It's like this character was made for him to voice. Since I finished the second book, Tokens, right before starting this one, I was a little surprised by the switch in female narrators. I had really enjoyed Amber Lee Connors portrayal of Ana, so it took me a bit to set used to the change to Megan Tusing, but by the end of the book it no longer bothered me the narrator had changed. Overall the narration was terrific.
Now that I've completed the After the Purge: Vendetta series, I will for sure be checking out more of Sam Sisavath's Purge books!
Wash hunts for a one-year, blue-eyed ghoul. Ana hunts for Wash.
An excellent conclusion to an excellent story. Their fates lie in an unnamed town in a state too big. But they're drawn there like moths to a flame. Nothing can keep them away. Nobody can stop them as they draw closer to the end.
An amazing cast of characters, drawn in charcoal on a dark paper. The story comes to an end. . . maybe. Maybe not. This book kept me up all night, waiting for the end I knew had to come. I wasn't disappointed, just confused as the storyline bent, and twisted, and turned. But . . . nope, I ain't telling you. Read it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. This is a GREAT read!
Of the three books in this series, this one was my hands down favorite. Non-stop action and adventure plus solving the mystery of the one eyed, blue eyed ghoul and Wash's backstory, which, for me, has been like an itch you can't quite reach throughout the series. Thanks to Sam Sisavath for scratching that itch! Wash's and Ana's story have been exciting, dark and sometimes disturbing, but for fantasy and post-apocalyptic fiction fans, it's a must read.
I'm a fan of San Sisavath and the whole Purge series, but this was not without flaws. Way way too much repetitious stream of thought stuff, like in Black, for instance. The earlier books didn't do as much of that. And an excellent plot twist, but with no effort to explain how that could be. Even so, I remain a fan of the overall series, and hope for more!
Th easiest choice for me to make when I am looking for something to read in this genre is to search Sam Donavan pick something out of the few I haven't read yet and enjoy another good read. This story was no different. Loved the whole series and recommended it highly
After reading the first two books in this series, I didn’t think the third could be better...I was wrong. It was edge of your seat reading. I had to set the book down for a moment several times. Mr. Sisavath is an incredible author. His characters are amazing and you believe in them. I loved this series and you can’t pass it up. It’s that good.
What a ride this has been!!!! All three books of this trilogy has been brilliant, to say the least!!!! Especially the ending which really threw me for a loop!!! Hell, ALL of The Purge books 📚have been fantastic!!!! Haven't read anything this spectacular in a while now!!!! REALLY looking forward to more of this author's books in the future!!!!!
Book one as the best series in the book. This one was not bad.
Makes me wonder if I missed something, as there a hundreds of unanswered questions.
I think there is a previous book that is never mentioned, but I cannot be bothered looking as this was sold a a three book series. The never do tell you what the purge was, what the walk out was, why the kid has no scars etc...
Good way to finish up this short series. Took me back to the beginning where the blue eyes were truly horrifying. This book brings back the real scary chomping of the teeth directly in one's face where one fears that this encounter may well be the end of life. I highly recommend all of Sam's novels!
I enjoyed following these.characters and their trials in the pursuit of the monster. The ending was a surprise, and the answer to the puzzle of the monster seemed abrupt - like there was no clues or lead up to the end. It was a good adventure and kept me reading. Well worth reading.
What a great ending to this 3 book series! Powerful and even surprising. Sam Sisavath was able to put in a twist I did not see coming until this book! Touche, well done and this series is a definite must for apocalyptic fiction fans!
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Sam Sisavath's Purge series. The characters come to life and each book pulls me into a world where good fights evil. So keep them coming Sam, I earnestly await more adventures in the post Purge series.
Out standing story line. You have me wrapped up in your world and I don't want it to end. I find myself anticipating the next segments or installation in the Journey. Like Oliver Twist " More please"!
You hit this one out of the park Sam!! I could barely stop thinking about the story when I was supposed to be doing other things. I couldn’t wait to get back to the book! I can’t wait for more stories 😬
This amazing story has completed! It was an edge-of-your seat ride all the way! Sad some characters I liked didn't make it but that made it all the more realistic. Enjoy the ride!
Read all three as fast as I could and then hated that the story was over. What’s next? Who else survived and when will we know how to truly win in this amazing world Sisavath has created. Great reads, everyone , every time.
I have been reading since the beginning. Can't get enough. Glad to see there is a lot more adventures. I feel I know all of these folks. I want more of Laura, the Rangers, and Kio. What kind of a name is that?
After reading the complete series of The Purge (something like 12-14 books), I have to say that I would like to see the adventures continue. The author has said he has more ideas for storylines, so here is to hoping that he follows through and gives us another 14 books.
I've became hooked onSam's books. Non-stop action with great characters. Didn't see the end coming on thisone. Read all his books, even those not in the Purge series.
Another great story in The Purge series. The series was just the right number of books that had plenty of action without a lot of down time. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a great story.
When any purge books come out, I stop what I am doing to read them. This was another great one. I live in Texas and love that the stories happen here. Very entertaining and captivating. C'mon! I want more! Hurry!
Every time I tried to put these books down, I made myself an excuse to pick them back up. Felt like a real life situation with Mr. Murphy and his law waiting to pounce. Wil read more from this author!
Until the very last page of the story. Then the main characters take a 180 degree turn toward stupid. Really, they are that dumb? I really couldn't believe it had to read it twice.
I am so glad I discovered Mr. Sisavath's books. I have read all of the Purge books and think they are all awesome. This one was as excellent as the previous ones. I highly recommend it!
It took to long to get to the end. If there are monsters fast and strong there should be good guys the same, just for equilibrium. Still I liked the book and recommend it.
I really enjoyed this series and wasn't ready for the adventures of Wash, Ana and Old Man to end. I'm really going to miss Wash! He's my favorite part of these books. I highly recommend this series for any EOTWAWKI readers.
