A good book for early years and maybe year 3 too. I enjoyed the book due the exciting colourful images, assorted fonts and sizes and extremely interesting content. The story is based on a lazy ladybird who is looking for a place to sleep. She travels from one animal to another in order to find a suitable place but some the animals seem to have different characteristics which do not allow the ladybird to rest in peace. Finally she learns to fly and rests peacefully on a flower.

This book can be used in cross curricular activities. To use this book as a read along it will allow children to sound out the words with the teacher, join in once they are familiar with the story. Also the teacher can probe questions to in order to encourage their confidence as well as creativity. As well as this,a teacher can implement this story into a drama lesson by re-creating the ladybirds adventure and the children can dress up as a different animal. Also in literacy they can rewrite the story but in their own version. In geography they can discuss the different habitats of animals this could lead to a trip to the zoo or farm.

I'm not sure exactly what the point of this children's book was, because there's no moral about not being lazy or anything. It's simply a story about a ladybug going from place to place and then just ends.

My children and I really enjoyed this book and how it brings out the character of different animals. The illustrations are a delight too

I am giving the book, The Very Lazy Ladybug, a 4. This story is about a lazy ladybug that just wants to spend her time laying down. She does not move much so she does not know how to fly. She goes around and lays on a few animals so she can rest. It always ends up leaving because they are either too loud, bumpy, smelly and other things that the lazy ladybug does not like. When she goes on an elephant and sneezes, the lazy ladybug is thrown and now she is forced to fly. This is a good book and I would have it in my classroom because there are many noises the readers make while reading and that is something that is entertaining to the students and also teaches them to use different voices.

Using a structured pattern featuring animal and action words, Fink tells the tale of a lazy ladybug who never learned to fly. The ladybug relies on her access to other animals to help find a new place to sleep but each animal becomes problematic for the lady bug. Tickle's graphic, bold illustrations contain popup actions to help the reader experience the problems the ladybug is encountering until one climatic moment at the end,

The Very Lazy Ladybug by Isobel Finn is a children's book that tells the story of a ladybug's quest. Readers assume her quest is for a new place to sleep and the ladybug believes this to be true, but ultimately she learns to fly. It could be used as a mentor text for young writers and used during a micro lesson on either quests or plot twists.

Very cute story about a lady bug that does not want to fly. It is very fun all the different animals that the lady bug hopped onto and very cute that because of the elephants sneeze the lady bug finally flew.

This is a great movement book - jump, swish, sing, roar, sneeze!
You could do some fun actions to these words.
Tells the story of a little ladybug who was too lazy to ever learn how to fly.

The kids loved this at Storytime and I was able able to ask them questions like "Do you think this will be a good place for them to sleep?" and they all laughed with the elephant sneezed.

My kid loves this book!!!
The story is about a lazy ladybug.. who does not know how to fly because she is sleeping day and night. It's a journey of how she eventually flies.
The illustrations are good, colorful and succeed to get the attention of the kids. The storyline too is engaging with a varying cast of animals like kangaroo, tiger, crocodile, monkey, tortoise.
All in all a wonderful read for kids.

This is a very popular book in our house. It's well written and we love the illustrations. But the most exciting thing is… the sound effects! They are just fabulous! Even my (much) older boys hover around when this book is being read and have each taken the time to read it to the younger ones before. I'm convinced it's because 'they' want to press the buttons!

The lazy ladybird just wants to sleep and is so lazy that she doesn't know how to fly and so she hops on to various animals in order to find somewhere else to sleep. Each animal does something that means she can't sleep and therefore has to move on to another until, at last, she has no choice but to fly.

Each page is beautifully illustrated. The pictures are bright and colourful and each animal is drawn to look friendly and smiley. On each page there is a 'button' to press to hear the sound that accompanies each animal. We have read books similar to this and have found it most frustrating to be pressing the page in earnest trying to elicit a sound and not having much success. This book has been well put together however (and I mean that in the literal physical sense) as each sound works and works well without having to press over and over again. My pre-schooler has to apply a little more pressure with his tinier fingers but is fairly easily able to make the sounds work by himself too, which gives him a lot of pleasure. The sounds are loud enough and clear and fun. They make us giggle. The last sound, when ladybird has run out of choices is really fun and gets the most 'airtime' for sure!

A very lovely read, with great pictures and fabulous sounds. It's one that my husband and I both love reading to our two little boys (almost 3 and 15 months) and it gets extra marks for drawing in my older boys (11 and almost 14) to read to their younger brothers without being asked!

Verdict: One for every pre-schooler's bookshelf. There are other 'noisy picture books' in the series and we shall certainly be adding to the one we already have!

This book is part of a Tiger Tales collection we received as a gift from grandma. They are all beautifully constructed, with thick spongy covers, shiny metallic cover art, thicker than usual glossy pages, and absolutely gorgeously colorful illustrations. The book covers are sturdy enough to be handled even by our 8 month old, though I don’t recommend letting a little one close to the inside pages, as she has already torn a few pages in her excitement. They are good quality, but not a board book.

My littles found The Very Lazy Ladybug super entertaining, partly because it showcases a bunch of cool jungle animals and actions that they do, like scratching, sneezing, swinging on vines, etc. It’s a good book to teach your kids animals, but more importantly, as a parent I found the story of The Very Lazy Ladybug valuable because it teaches that if you are lazy and don’t make an effort to learn new things, you can miss out on big things. Ladybug is so lazy, she never learned how to fly. Even a kid can understand how sad that is.

The Very Lazy Ladybug is part of a collection called “My First Storybook,” and I’ve decided that’s a very appropriate label: our 6 year old is reading through the books with little to no trouble, and enjoying herself immensely! I love seeing her reading self-esteem boosted like this. If you have a little reader, or an older reader who is struggling a little, I definitely recommend Tiger Tales’ “My First Storybook” collection so far. We have already read and liked The Very Fidgety Fish, and I'm writing reviews on all other Tiger Tales books we have on my blog Two Little Dinos.

A cute story with simple text and fun illustrations. Animal lovers will enjoy it. This would make a fun addition to an animal or insect or lazy themed story time.

"The very lazy Ladybird, noisy book" .

I've read this in both the pop-up and... 2D version, both of which are great. In this simple picture book, a lazy ladybug doesn't know how to fly (too lazy to learn, I suppose). So she tries to hitch a ride on other animals, with mixed results (the kangaroo is too bouncy, the bear is scratching himself too much). This is a nice way to introduce different animals. It's also an easy to follow story with a pattern and some repetition. The elephant sneeze at the end is guaranteed to produce some laughs. I read this for preschool storytime and while it held the children's attention, it wasn't the most engaging.

Cute little story about a lazy ladybug who likes to sleep. Because of this, she never learned to fly. She decides she wants to go somewhere else so she hitches rides on animals who pass by. Each animal has an action verb that describes his movement. Good words (ambled), but each animal is deficient as the ladybug is unable to sleep. She thinks she has it figured out with the elephant until . . .

Cute.

I'm taking this into my fourth graders in the morning to help them identify verbs and use them properly.

This is another cute story featuring ladybugs. I used it for a ladybug program I did for both Spanish and bilingual story times.

This is a story about a ladybug who is lazy. Because she sleeps all day, she has never learned how to fly. One day, she decides she wants to sleep somewhere else, so she hitches a ride onto different animals to find a good spot. When she lands of the elephant, she's in for a big surprise!

This book had a lot of different animals. It had pictures of each animal and what noises they made and if they lived on land or water. The lady bug was too lazy and couldn't fly so tried to land on each animal in hoping to fly. At the end, the lady bug finally flew. The book even went over twice what each animal looked like and whether they were on land or water and what noise they made. I enjoyed the pictures in the book as well.
