They say a leopard can’t change its spots, but I beg to differ. I’m not the girl I used to be, and now is my chance to prove it.
I’m back at the high school where I burned a lot of bridges and hurt a lot of people. Only this time, I’m not a student… I’m a teacher. I want to repair the damage I caused and move on… hopefully with Bennett Sawyer.
I’m stunned when I find out Bennett just so happens to be one of my new students — and the principal’s son. I didn’t know it when we began dating, and now we’ve got to put an end to our relationship, or risk losing everything.
But the attraction between us is unstoppable, and when jealousy gets in the way, all I want to do is mark my territory, but I can’t.
With a smile like his, and a body to die for, can I stay away from him and pretend he means nothing… until he graduates in ten weeks?
Hero from this book has a weird relationship with the heroine from the last book, Audrey. When I read her book, I felt like she should have gotten in a relationship with Bennett not Brody. I read a review on Amazon that said Bennett (hero) even goes to say that Audrey will always come before Christina (heroine). Bennett and Audrey were even cuddling in class in book 5 when Christina was introduced to the class. Keep in mind Audrey was with Brody. I knew then there was no way Bennett would put his love interest first, so I’m going to save myself time and not read this mess.
I really enjoyed reading “Audrey and the Hero Upstairs,” where Bennett was first introduced. Bennett and Audrey’s friendship was the main reason I read this one too, not to mention the hope of more Audrey and Brody scenes.
Bennett was still as caring and loving in this book, he really does seem like the most supportive friend possible. Did not care for Christina AT ALL. I’m not into the whole bad blood, pettiness and cheating that Christina participated in during High School. Even though the synopsis for this book makes it seem like Christina was going to change completely, and try and play nice, SHE DIDN’T. Maybe she started changing 75% into the book? She would do some small things that Bennett would take in as her trying to do the right thing, but nothing major.
Overall I still enjoyed the book, Christina frustrated me for most of the time, but Bennett’s character and his supportiveness with Audrey made up for everything she lacked.
—Also finished the book in one sitting, so it was a quick read.
This book could have been called Bennett and the Rebel Affair. Because let's be honest, he stole the show! The complete book boyfriend package!
High school is hard. Especially when you're the new kid and the Principal's son. It's also hard when you're the victim of a tragic fire and trying to pick up the pieces of your life. This story continued the friendship between Bennett and Audrey which so captivating and pure. The love they feel for each other knows no bounds. But then Christina, the town hussy that helped leave Bailey heartbroken all those years ago enters Bennett's life. She threatens the bond between to "bros".
The ups and downs of this read had me unable to put the book down! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the two main characters to slip up and jeopardize their futures even more than they already had. I was also anticipating Audrey hauling off and fighting Christina. Neither happened (thankfully).
This was a story filled with lust, forbidden romance and unbreakable friendship. I loved the turn around that Christina made as the story progressed and the honesty that finally came out between Bennett and Audrey. A true happily ever after!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for an honest review.

Never was disappointed. In each book to this series that I have read. This one was good too. I still think Jack will end up with Bennett friend Chris can’t wait for his story to come out .. I know it’s going to be hilarious... but I'd be disappointed if it’s Chace ugh ..... very disappointed. But now I am curious as to what will happen that ending has me wanting to know why Chace is coming into the picture and why Jack needs Christina’s help.
Hope it doesn’t ruin her and Bennett relationship I like them together. He makes her a better person than what Chace made her become. I also wonder why Jack is dealing with Chace he hasn’t change since Kenzie and Jeremy story .. also, I was glad that everyone finally came around and forgave Christina. I think if it wasn’t for Bailey and then Audrey the gang would’ve still been mean towards her. Like Bennett said people do change from the time they were teenagers until they turn into adults though some don’t.
I will admit teacher/student genre is not my thing at all i haven’t read many only one or two but when R Linda writes one i have to give it a chance and i am so glad i did.
This was not your usual one and i am so glad for it the way R Linda writes is clean and such amazing writing that still has the angst that a hot racey novel would have and I loved how innocent this was.
I loved Bennett they way he was with Audrey and protected her showed what sort of character he was even though he he had made some really difficult mistakes in his life and especially with the Bully that all the previous characters really did not like. You always knew he saw something in Christina that everyone else did not and I loved that.
Christina I was never a fan off and halfway through this book I still wasn’t but in true R.Linda style and with her writing I knew I would like her by the end and I did she seemed genuine and she never apologised for what she wanted and went for it and really tried to make amens
I loved this book the push and pull between the main characters had me wondering how the story would unfold.
Again I loved how we still got to the previous characters and saw how their lives were going and what could be happening in the future for all these characters.
To top it all off the ending of this book just had me WTF as I really don’t know where this series will be going and I am more than excited.
Another amazing story and perfect book for this series love love loved it amazing 5 stars.

Lord knows this Town's keen on Prejudging!! I was granted an ARC of R. Linda's "Christina and the Rebel Affair (Scandalous Series Book 6)" via Booksprout; I recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given! Until next time... Happy Reading!
I first want to say that I did not read the previous books in this series and I wish I had. The back characters played such a big role and there were some things I didn't get until I was half way through the book. But with that said I have to say that I loved this story. It had everything in it to the point where I was on the edge of my seat not sure where the story was going and lord I wanted to slap one character in here. She was such a wench and so hell bent on being a jerk and ruining things I just wanted to slap her.
Bennett and Audrey have this great relationship that builds each day. Then it is time for school and Audrey is determined to right her wrongs that she has when she sees her new student the principal's son Bennett. Yes Lord Jesus I said Bennett. When he walks into Audrey's room they both look at each other and know that things have gone from great to bad. They realize they are going to have to make a decision, walk away from each other or fight to make it work. This is a MUST READ student/teacher read.
When it turns out your hook up during school break is your new substitute teacher...it’s about to get complicated.
Bennett’s just trying to finish out his senior year, get away from his jerk of a father and look out for Audrey. It’s just too bad when your bff falls in love with someone else. Audrey and Bennett share a special bond, but it’s not the same as falling in love.
Christina has a bit of a bad reputation. You’ll remember her as Bailey’s backstabbing bff who stole her boyfriend in high school. Christina left for awhile and learned the hard way that the boy she stole was nothing more than a liar and a manipulator. Now she’s back and she wants to start over.
Being worthy of the person you love, is a great motivator to change your life. Christina wants to be good enough for Bennett. Her road to redemption will not be easy, but it will be worth it.
I love this group of characters and always look forward to revisiting them with each new story. They aren’t just friends, they’ve become a family.
Get ready for this slow burn, student/teacher love affair. Things are about to get HOT and a little bit scandalous!
I literally didn't like Christina at all through most of the book. She was still witchy to most people besides Bennett. Bennett had me laughing with some of his thoughts throughout the book. Would Christina and Bennett be able to keep their relationship a secret for as long as they needed? Their attraction to each other was crazy strong and they couldn't do anything to jeopardize her job. It was definitely harder than they imagined.
She finally started redeeming herself and I could see what Bennett could. He thought she wasn't as bad as everyone else thought. She had changed since high school but she had a lot of apologizing to do and she needed to make it right.
Bennett was such a sweet guy who would do anything for his friend. It didn't hurt that he was hot and had a sense of humor lol Not to mention the man bun.
Bailey was a very forgiving person and wanted to know the Christina today not the one from the past. Would Christina be able to show that she wasn't person anymore? Would she get the forgiveness that she wanted?
Leopard can’t change its spots - isn't it true? This book was very interesting. Haven't read storyline built like this one yet. Even if the book is about Bennett and Christina we are meeting the whole pack of friends from previous parts of the series along with the story of main characters. We are witnessing how their lives are progressing. Especially there is a lot of Audrey as she and Bennett are very close friends and their relationship is special. We got a lot of jealousy, a lot of conflicted emotions. We are witnessing beautiful friendship, love, support, lust and hate. Christina at the end is not only fighting with her desires but also with her past deeds. For Bennett she wants to come clean with her ex best friend and slowly rebuild trust and relationships she destroyed years ago. And the ending...? Just can't patiently wait to see what the next story in series will bring.
Renee Linda has done it again!!! I must say she was able to take a character I had such dislike for and change my point of view of her. Christina definitely was different in this book than what she was in the others enough so I actually found myself liking her. Plus who wouldn't love a book about Bennett lol. This book is a good read and with the ending it had I can't wait to see what's next for this wonderful series.
Ok, so I have a confession. I really wanted Bennett with Audrey & I'm still hoping for that in the future. For now, I will settle. I love Bennett & his sexy man bun. He is one of the sweetest guys in the bunch & just adores his Audrey.
We all love how a bad boy or bad girl can redeem themselves. Christina did that plus more. Maybe she can end up with Brody later....lol! That ending though, what was that!! I guess we will soon find out 🤔
I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did but once I started reading I didn't want to stop!
Now Bailey and the Bad Boy was my absolute favorite book - has to be my favorite book that I've read in the past year. But this book is a close second which surprised me because I HATED Christina in that.
With that being said Christina and the Rebel Affair was everything I've been searching for recently in a book. It was entertaining, had a plot twist and good cliffhanger and so much. It is obvious Renee Linda is a great writer since she took a easily disliked character and made her likeable through writing her point of view. I recommened all of her books in the Scandalous Series!
So, I have to admit that I was really apprehensive about reading this one. I love this series and knew the history of Christina and the crew. I also absolutely adore Bennett and wasn't sure that I wanted him with Christina.
However, Christina and Bennett were great together and she eventually showed that she really had changed. Their story was well written and showed their super hot chemistry to perfection. Another fabulous book for this series. Looking forward to more.
I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t think I would considering it was about Christina from the very first book who hurt Bailey. BUT I wanted to know more about ur amazing Bennett from the last book and I’m glad I read it. Im not happy about a high school kid and his teacher but this relationship worked. It was good. And again to have all the other characters from the series appear is nice. Enjoyed it as a quick read
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review...I am going to add another book review with this one..So I started to read this book, I started the series from Indie's love life and I was enjoying the series it wasn't fabulous but wasn't as bad as this one. So again I am enjoying the series and then we had Harper's book and I was starting to get annoyed but continued had Kenzie, am still good and then we get Audrey's book with Brody and I was grossed out.. She was seventeen and he was 25 gross they kept justifying it by saying she would be 18 soon, dude get a woman not a child. Then we get this one..Christina was horrible they all hated her and with good reason, so here is this author trying to get her accepted by us and the crew yet Christina's inner thought were not good she was still justifying and going after guys that were taken, not cool so she claims she wouldn't do it with Chace who was a jerk and Bailey's boyfriend when they were in uni and she (Christina was Bailey's supposed best friend at the time) and she cheated with him then made Bailey's life hell for years, so she didn't regret that they cheated and she took him it was how Chace treated her after yet in her thoughts she said she would cheat with Bennet..This woman was horrible and should be teaching children he was a student and she was 25..again nasty.
I must say I loved the teacher student attraction, although they waited to continue their affair after he graduated. I can totally compare myself to Christina in matter of being attracted to younger male and I loved their ups and downs and their insecurities. And the changes in relationships and connections with others she did to get closer to him. She was a bad and spoiled woman/teenager before but then she realised she has to change something to get closer to him and to those that are close to him, because they ment something to him.
[1.75 star] not sure why is there a story about this heroine who is a mega bitch. she started off as a bitch still in this book. and she keep saying her ex-boyfriend, chase manipulated her blah blah blah BUT there was no explanation on how he manipulated her. in a way, i really dont understand her.
I have been following this series ever since Bailey and the Bad Boy was released, and I have loved every single installment. If you have kept up with the series, you would have known why I never expected Christina to be the main character in any of the books in the series. To my surprise, she might be one of my favorite characters in the whole series after this book.
Christina had started having a relationship with a man she had met at a bar named Bennett, and she was happy for the first time in a long time. As she approached her new job, she was shocked to see that one of her new students was Bennett. Making matters worse, he is the boss's son. If the principal found out what Christina had been doing with his son, she would be fired on the spot and face legal repercussions. But she just can't seem to stop falling for him, and can't bring herself to break up with him. Bennett doesn't want to break up either, so they will just have to be sure to be really careful.
Christina has truly matured from the bratty teenage girl that she used to be at the start of the story. But in that way, all the old characters have matured. Most are married or getting married, and Bailey is pregnant with her first child. She never got into a positive relationship, so now she is in her twenties without a fiancee or husband. To be honest, she doesn't really sound like she minded being lone before. She was just happy to have Bennett in her corner and was looking forward to being with him for a long time. Then, of course, he turns out to be one of her high school seniors, and things get a little complicated.
Bennett had spent a lot of time with Audrey, protecting her from the judgemental people at school. It got to the point where people thought that they were just dating, and he was happy with that. At least they would leave her alone then. When the woman he'd been seeing outside the school shows up as his teacher. he feels a mixture of emotions. For starters, he still thinks she's hot. But then he worries about how their relationship will be affected. He can't bear to lose her.
This book definitely has one of the more interesting relationship dynamics in the series. Even though they aren't that far apart in age, Christina is older than Bennet by a few years. This series usually worked with boys being older than their girlfriends. I like that Linda makes clear to her audience that all different kinds of relationships can be healthy and positive. Christina never pressured Bennett into anything, and they were pretty good about handling their feelings at school, besides a few slipups.
The plot of this story moved at a steady pace, and I didn't notice any grammar or formatting errors as I read the advanced version of this book. The one thing I really love about Linda is how she does POV switches so smoothly! There was never a moment where I was thinking "well who is speaking now" and getting frustrated with the storytelling.
I was definitely expecting this to be the last book in the series, but to my surprise, it wasn't! I can't wait to read the next installment. Keep up the great work R. Linda!
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
Gives Van Halen’s Hot For The Teacher a new meaning!
What starts out as a hot holiday fling becomes a potentially serious situation, when real life hits and laws have unwittingly been breached.
Christina Brown had moved away from her town and her friends under a cloud of scandal, outlined in Bailey and Ryder’s book, the first in this Scandalous series, leaving behind a less than stellar reputation. She didn’t care. She manipulated people as easily as she’d manipulated the truth, as long as she could get the attention and the boyfriend she wanted. Until it all fell down. She’d been duped as much as she herself had done the deceiving, and karma took care of the rest.
Now, she’s learned her lesson, and not only made herself into a better person, but she’s back in town. And she’s back at her old high school; as a teacher, keen to remain under the radar and away from her scandal of old. Trouble is, her reputation has preceded her, nobody likes her, everyone is suspicious of her motives, and she’s been warned to stay away from those she used to know.
That low flying radar is going to be ever elusive for our scandalous teacher because on her first day, she sees her hot young man, and he’s also at her school, and in her class; as a student! She’s about to find herself drowning in the worse scandal of her life. One that could cost her career, and ruin his life – unless they can keep their hands to themselves for the remainder of the year until he graduates.
He’s also the only person who is keen to give her another chance, if she keeps her jealousy of his close friendship with another female student under control. Bennett is the very mature looking young man, who had told Christina that he worked in the surf shop, and she had no idea he was so young. I also loved that he was such a loyal and beautiful friend to Audrey, who depends on him in ways that are unimaginable to those who haven’t suffered the tragedy that she had.
I have to say that it took me a long time to warm to Christina. She seemed to retain most of her aloof and selfish traits and the judgement of her seemed to be spot on. Change is hard, and I couldn’t even imagine how difficult it would be to try to overcome the history of her past actions and ameliorate the suspicion the others had of her.
By the way, this is the first book from R. Linda that I’ve read, and I’m not normally into the YA or NA genre, but I enjoyed it so much I went back to get Bailey and Ryder’s book as well as a couple of others. A very addicting 4.5 stars.
Leopard met the Lion! Cause a leopard may not be able to change its spots, but you can roar your past and redeem yourself even after you burned a lot of bridges. This is book 6 in the Scandalous series and while each book can be read as a standalone the characters do have continuing stories in each book. You can follow along without feeling lost, but if you have read all the books I think it makes you enjoy it that much more. I picked up the series from book 3 and have not read book 1 (Bailey’s story) and book 2 (Indie’s story). Though I almost feel like if I read Bailey’s story this would either help or hurt my opinion on Christina. Oh Christina, Christina you were quiet the Villain in high school and you did some very cruel things, but just when you start to appear as the better grown up person, Bennett lands in your lap (OK, not literally, but maybe so haha). Bennett doesn’t look his age nor act his age and that man bun is hot! The attraction between these two is scorching, the jealously is real and can they really stay apart for ten weeks till he graduates? That is the question among many you will want to know reading this story. While I am glad how the story ended, there is still a little piece of me hoping that Audrey (her story is book 5) ended up with Bennett. BF it is! No that is not a spoiler either! This band of family/friends have quite the scandalous stories and each book just keeps getting better and better with the scandal that occurred. You will fall in love with all these characters, so I hope to see more of this series down the road or through a next generation series. The only thing that bothered me about this book (and no it wasn’t the student/teacher aspect) was the book cover. Yes, Bennett looks older than his age, hence, how him and Christina ended up in this predicament, prior to them learning she was going to be his substitute teacher for Bailey’s leave. But… she looks very young (younger then the guy). I’m a total cover girl and to me this represents what the author thinks the characters portray for me to get an idea of their description and it didn’t do the book justice this time. Other than that, I loved the story and the continuing secondary characters story in the book. Plus, I loved the 180 Christina did based upon what we knew of her past. Bennett truly stole the show in this affair!
What a complete transformation for both main characters- I loved how the author R. Linda got me to like Christina after all the shenanigans she pulled in the beginning of this series. She changed and it was for the better; then we have Bennett, who is pretty amazing. In previous books he came off as this really bad boy who was hooked on another character but in this book, we find out who they both are and together they are pretty hot!! Only thing is their relationship is pretty forbidden and yet they are both craving each other. We get to read how other characters from previous books pop in and interact with them. Will Christina and Bennett be able to keep their forbidden relationship a secret for much longer ? Their intense attraction to one another was amazing but they couldn't do anything because it could cost her job. The teacher /student taboo affair that they had, they waited to continue after he graduated. How they met and all, this was unique and intriguing. Christina and Bennett had this connection and they had to fight for their love. Bennett also had Audrey in his life and he had to worry about her feelings. The complex feelings and emotions made this a great read. The ending was fantastic and how everything happened was amazing.
I'm very very VERY conflicted on how to feel about Christina and the Rebel Affair , it took a while for me to really get into the story and to slightly connect with the couple . This would be the first book that I've read by R. Linda and also the first one that I have read in the series so I don't know if I'd be more into it if I had read them in order but think it can be read as a standalone . I don't want to give to much away I just felt liked the couple didn't do it for me . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero=5 heroine=5 secondary characters=5 Chemistry=6 steam=6 romance=4 humor=2 darkness level=2 action=2 mystery=3 enjoyment=6 angst=4 story line=6 Story ending=7 character development=6 pacing=7 cover=10 stars=3.7 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone =yes would I recommend this book= would I re read this book= would I read future books by this author= yes
We originally met Christina in the first book of the series, Bailey and the Bad Boy, and she was the girl you loved to hate. After leaving town when her life erupted she has now returned and is now a teacher at the high school rather than a student. She is trying to leave her past behind her but people are not so forgiving so she knows she must not due anything to cause another uproar.
Bennett is the Principal’s son and one of Christina’s students. The attraction between is off the charts however acting on it could ruin his career and Bennett will be caught in the crossfire. All they need to do is stay away from each other until the end of the school year, what could possibly go wrong?
I really enjoyed this story. The author managed to redeem Christina and at the end of the book I actually liked her and how could you not love Bennett whose loyalty could never be questioned, and he sees Christina as more than her past actions. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Be still my bearing heart ❤. I love Bennett so much. Whilst I would love to see him and up with Audrey, he was perfect for Christina. His feelings were true and his sexiness was top notch. I wasn't a fan of Christina from previous books, but R.Linda worked her magic and made me see she was a decent person. She was just as blindsided in the past and had no support network to help her out like Bailey. Seeing her realise her mistakes and grow from them was beautiful. Every girl wants to be their guys first choice and she's no different. I loved seeing all the other characters guest star in this book as we get to see their love and friendship grow. When Jack turned up my grin almost cracked my face. I love that guy and can't wait for his book.
This is the sixth book in this amazing series. Christina is now back at her old high school as a teacher, and she is hoping to redeem herself. Bennett is somebody she hooked up with, and the attraction between them is intense, but he is also a student. Will they be able to keep their relationship a secret? No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed if you love the forbidden student / teacher genre! This is a well written unique story, which has me intrigued and hooked throughout, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all!
A good small town romance continuation in the series, but can be read as a standalone. The story is a slow burn, hot, student, and teacher love affair. Christina started seeing Bennett after meeting on a bar. As they were seeing each she was shocked to find he was a senior at her new job, and the principal, her boss's son. It is well written and showed their super hot chemistry with a lot of jealousy, conflicted emotions including ups and downs and their insecurities. It had me turning the pages to find how this teacher student relationship would pan out.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this book. Creating a book around a character from previous books means taking a chance that it won't succeed, especially when the character wasn't a beloved character. The author took this character, gave her maturity and insight and she is a winner. I liked how much the character changed and how much she stayed the same. If that doesn't make sense, you'll need to read the other books. Some of the things that made her the way she was in the past have given her a strength of character that made her who she is now. Great storytelling.
