If she reveals herself, she dies. If she doesn’t, her tribe—and the dragons it protects—will suffer a worse fate. Nothing has been easy for Anira since the day she was born an invisible twin, a fact which makes her doubly forbidden. Now she understands that the chieftain forbade magic only so he could steal the power from her tribe and use it against the dragons. She vows to stop the chieftain.
But she can’t stop him alone. She needs the dragons to take him down, and she can’t end up one of their mid-morning snacks.
The elite team of the Dragon Force has been working with the dragons for generations. To enlist the force’s help, she’ll need to reveal who she is, the one thing she’s worked all her life to avoid.
But when the only way to protect those she loves is to sacrifice herself, not even her twin can hold her back.
Especially not when she’s the secret weapon they’ll use to defeat the chieftain.
Lucía Ashta is the internationally top 20 bestselling author of young adult, new adult, and adult paranormal and urban fantasy books, including the series Magical Creatures Academy, Witches of Gales Haven, Smoky Mountain Pack, and Supernatural Bounty Hunter.
When Lucía isn't writing, she's reading, painting, or adventuring. Magical fantasy is her favorite, but the action, romance, and quirky characters are what keep her hooked on books.
Faithum sounds awesome and the fact that Anira gets to love baby dragon Rosie is even better. Watching Anira's powers get naturally stronger without her even trying is very satisfying. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Book 1 certainly hooked me into this unique new world, but this second book just stalled out. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but the inaction in the book became overwhelming. There is too much talking, discussing, debating, postulating with no action for 2/3 of the book. The characters themselves state their stances on things, then as they’re talking, they trade opinions within their conversations, so they don’t get anywhere. It’s aggravating that there is so little progress. There is so much potential in this series to be dramatic; especially with the title like Dragon Force, but it doesn’t come to fruition. Anira hardly even makes any progress in her magic wielding. Her progress is just luck, and she still doesn’t learn anything from it. The end has an interesting twist to it, but I just can’t take any more introspection, self-reflection, and helpless confusion at their situation. I could forgive it if it continued the plot development, but they just talked themselves into circles. I really wanted to love this series, and I was well on the way after Book 1, but I won’t be continuing it after this.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I could barely put it down. Anira meets new people that she must trust with her life and try to figure out how to fix things. She must believe in faith and find a way to keep everyone, including Rosie, safe. I highly recommend reading this series, especially if you love dragons.
This book felt like it was really dumbed down compared to the first one. It actually felt condescending to the point of insulting.
The back cover blurb does not actually describe anything that's really happening in the book. The dragons do not help her at all, not even Rosie who I thought was going to be her tie to the world.
The pages spent describing how much pain she was in while channelling faithum were painfully long.
The idea of faithum does not feel fleshed out or thought out enough. Either faithum is actually magic, which is how the chieftain describes it (as in they would have a limited amount and it can be siphoned off and stored) or it's based on faith - which is right in the name so it should be, it's also how Dean describes it ("if you have faith you can use it" or "you need to have faith, it's right in the name") Lucia just keeps flitting between the two definitions on a whim. If it is just magic, why bother giving it a different name at all?
The way that the chieftain talks down to everyone and spells it out like he's Barney at the end of the book is over the top. He does not have to explain every single thing in so much detail. All I can picture is a reedy man in a black trench coat and fedora stroking his handle-bar moustache laughing like Jim Carey doing a dance going "I'm evil for no reason, I'm evil for no reason. The reader is so dumb. The reader is so dumb." We are not idiots, don't talk down to the readers like that.
Why, if he can control everyone that he has taken faithum from, does he not just take over the Dragon Charmers and everyone that's standing against him? Wouldn't that be easier? He's stolen their faithum too. Save everyone the big battle scene.
This book just grabs you by the hand as you hit the ground running and it doesn’t let you go until it’s done with you. Or you can’t fight sleep anymore and your tablet bashes you in the face.
The story was intriguing and even though it is a fantasy read, there is so much metaphor in it that I felt I could apply in my real life. I was amazed at how the story unfolded and the pace at which it went with with a new event happening at every turn! I’m enjoying the characters so much now that we’re really getting into getting to know them and I’m loving discovering every new moment and experience with Anira.
She is such a special and beautiful soul and I am thrilled about the people that she has around her and the absolute magic that is their faith! She starts possessing such maturity and acts with such bravery in spite of everything being new to her and in spite of her innate fear. It’s so hard isn’t it, when you’ve lived in fear for so long, to suddenly be running for your life and the life of the dragon that you love with people that you’ve always avoided and being stronger, smarter and more insanely talented than you ever thought possible?
Anira might still be invisible but she’s certainly hard to miss in this book! I can’t wait for the next book and the final in this series that just slowly crept up and grabbed me with its unpredictable plotlines, mystery, suspense and magic!
Lucia Ashta has long been a favorite author of mine. I came across her very first book, loved it, and have loved every one since. A pretty amazing winning streak come to think of it. She’s certainly continuing it with her new series, Dragon Force. I was delighted to get my hands on its first book Dragon Force: Invisible Born. While I’ve separately reviews that one it’s worth noting here following along as Anira comes into her own was a total pleasure. Now, in the series second book, Dragon Force: Invisible Bound, Anita is back and still working to stop the tribe’s dark sorcerer of a chieftain and protect the dragons. I’m not going to spoil anything by giving away plot details but let me tell you: this is soooo sweet. Perfection in storytelling and a perfect example of why I’m so addicted to this author. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to Dragon Force: Invisible Rider, the next book in this series.
Having been kept a secret all her life, Anira has now been accepted by Rosie the baby dragon she saved, Dean and Shula the Dragon Charmer and unofficial leaders of the Dragon Force. She has come to realise that the tribes chieftain is actually using Faithum (the magic he has forbidden from the tribe) to discretely control the tribe and that she is the only one who can stop him. Anira learns more about herself, her potential power and that doubting herself, allowing fear to take hold will only stop her from reaching her potential. Working with the Alpha Team she opens herself to the faithum within and discovers her true self worth. As Lucia so succinctly puts it, Anira comes into her true self, no longer having any reason to hide and her invisibility wears off.
This is a wonderfully well written book and series that I am very much looking forward to reading more of.
Lucia Ashta has written an enchanting and delightful story in Invisible Bound that continues the story of Anira and the baby dragon. Anira is now part of the Dragon Force and the reader follows her as faces new challenges that also give meaning to her life and notices her growth and maturity as the story unfolds. This well written story is different, unique and interesting. It is also fast paced, with suspense, danger, and unpredictable surprises and twists that will leave you at the edge of your seat. The tale is intricately woven in a way that you cannot predict what happens next or how it will happen. The main colourful characters are warm, interesting and believable, there is also a good cast of supporting characters that enhances the storyline. A beautiful and captivating story that drew me in from the beginning. Recommended!. Gifted with a copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This is the second book in the Dragon Force series. It’s pretty good and has some great moments of action and suspense as well as an intriguing twist at the end. It has other moments where not much happens and there’s lots of talking and deliberation. These parts are the reason why I can only rate this 4 out of 5 stars. Overall it’s still a very good read, and I’m very interested to find out what will happen! Can Anira and the Dragon Force band together and defeat Chieftain Pumpoo! I like Anira and I’m happy to see her growing out of her shell. I also really like the baby dragon Rosie! She’s adorable and I would love to meet her! I also want to learn more about Faithum, the mysterious magic that Anira is learning to use. I like the narrator and find her easy to listen to. Overall I recommend this series and I definitely will read the next one to see what happens!
Another one of Ms Ashta’s masterpieces! This incredibly well written book two of Lucia Ashta’s Dragon Force series will have you sitting on the edge of your seat gasping for breath. Anira must reach inside of herself to find the ‘faithum’ she needs to battle the dark force that has taken control of her tribe. A battle so well depicted you may think you are part of the story. I love how Anira, her brother, sister and the Dragon Force all work together to save the members of her tribe and thwart the evil chieftain’s plans. I can hardly wait to see what Ms Ashta has in store for the third book in this series. I highly recommend this series for all lovers of fantasy and dragons. You won’t want to miss out.
Invisible bound is an awesome book I highly recommend it!
Anira Is an invisible twin who never fit in and no one can see.
Then she becomes part of the DragonForce now find meaning to her life. she idolizes it’s leader dean who she can communicate through remind Link which is never happened to her before.
Chief pumpoo wants all the fathium or magic/life force of the people. Dean, Shula, rane and Traia are trying to keep Rose the baby dragon and Anira safe from the chief of their tribe. He thinks that somehow he can learn more about fathium use from the dragon. They’re trying to save their tribe from the evil chief. In doing so the chief drops his mask and the people can see how he really is.
OH MY POUNDING HEART!!! OMG! Wow. I'll get it out eventually. Maybe. This is one page turning, suspense filled, danger lurking, nailbiting, heart pounding bombshell that keeps you on the razors edge. All the excitement, drama and a need so great you put everything you have into it. Lucia totally nailed this bad boy. All the twists and turns really bring this little guy roaring into one thrilling ride. Lucia never ceases to amaze me with her insight and sense of detail. She brings all the scenes to life flawlessly that you feel the adrenaline rush. Lucia did a phenomenal bringing this tale together beautifully. Great job Lucia, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This story encompasses a very short time frame. The dragon force defied the chieftain in the last book. In this one, they confront him and their tribe. It's pretty much one battle, but a pivotal one, especially for Anita and her siblings. They must prove their worth to the dragon force and themselves.
The characters are sympathetic, but not especially well defined or unique. The world is interesting, and begs more than the dip of a toe in the waters. The plot is pretty standard. Neither of the first 2 books in this series feel complete or independent. They are part of a series you should plan to read together.
I voluntarily review an ARC. This is the second book of the Dragon Force series. It's about personal growing, gaining trust and having faith. Fear has no place, it would diminish the chance to succeed. This book contains a world and characters that are well developed and detailed, a fast paced story that leaves you breathless and magic. Magic can be the only explanation that the reader is sucked into the story and feels part of the team and ready to fight the enemy. Don't read it if you're not ready to fight. Otherwise start reading now and join us.
Invisible Bound by Lucia Ashta has Anira trying to protect dragons from the evil chieftain. She wants to preserve her secret, but finds herself left with no choice but to reveal her identity to her group. Rosie, the baby dragon adores Anira, and trusts her above anyone else. Anira gets to learn more about the forbidden magic of faithum, and more about herself. She has to decide how much of her life she is willing to risk for what she believes in. Anyone who is a fan of magical worlds and dragons should read this series.
OMG this series just keeps getting better & better! Carrying on from the first book Anira and the dragon charmers and of course Rosie our baby dragon carry on with their journey to save their people and the dragons 🐉 And to find out the truth! This well written story is also about finding yourself , your strengths and weaknesses, family and trust and trust me, once you start this series you will not want to put it down! I am totally addicted!
Have you ever wished you could be invisible? That's what Anira has lived with since her birth. Anira along with her twin Rane and sister Traya join the Dragon Force to protect the Ooba people. The Dragon Force must protect them from their chieftain Pampoo. Lucia Ashta has given us a wonderful world that is exciting as well as consuming. She is one of my favorite authors and has the ability to draw me back to her worlds again and again. I received a free copy of this book and chose to review.
Great read, well written with a great plot and characters. This is book 2 in the series and I was on the edge of my seat. This book has elements of suspense, twists and turns, Magic and dragons. Anira has had to hide all her life, but now she is done hiding. She will not allow the chieftain to steal the dragons magic. Will she succeed? Read to find out! I cant wait to read the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Faith is a power we are all believers of in some way or form and in this beautiful story of a young girl and her tribe faith is a bigger power than we know. A fantastical story of a young girl and her dragon and the adventure of a life time, I have loved this story from the first page of the first book and now I'm going to read the third and final installment. I strongly recommend this book/series/author its been thoroughly enjoyable.
I can't even finish this book. I struggled through the first one and started the second in hopes that it would have some substance to it, it doesn't. The world building is terrible, we know nothing about this planet or it inhabitants and we are one the second book. Character development? There is none. I consider this a waste of time. The author needs to sit down and actually fill this outline of a book in.
I am really getting into this story and I'm loving the MC Anira and Dean. The book first jumped straight into the story without giving me time to fully understand how they got there but it didn't matter for long and I was pulled right back in. But with Papboo showing his true clothes at long last Im not dure what to expect. Moving onto the next straight away.
Our main character, Anira, grows, learns and makes new friends. She also begins to understand her purpose. Not to mention the evil that hides in plain sight, that will ruin her world. It is absolutely wonderfully written. The characters are real, the world fully developed. It's just an outstanding ride!
Not bad at all. As I've written before, I love anything to do with dragons. This was made all the better by the unusual relationship between the twins. I'm not going to spoil anything for anyone. All I will say is that Book #1 was attention grabbing and this one is just as good. Moving on to #3 now.
This book was so good & held so many theories about the Ooba tribe. Lots more to discover & ponder about when it comes to faithum. I was so excited that Rane & Traya were able to join in the adventure along with Anira. Love to see her learn more about herself & gain confidence! Downloading the next now!
A very interesting yet enthralling book 2 Invisible Bound of Dragon Force series. Set apart from Lucia Ashta’s other book series of the Magical World. An ending that is a classic cliffhanger style yet leaves a reader wanting more. This book series has me wondering if it’s linked to the Magical World series which it has similar themes, traits and good vs evil.
A combination of magic and adventures with awesome ride.
The continued growth of magic and acceptance of her own self causes more than anything expected. Defiantly worth reading this series is one that growths on you.
Interesting story but can't be read as a stand alone. Only disappointment is story is not complete enough at end of book if reader chooses not to read next one. A book should have a complete story even if it has some dangling threads
This book is the second in the series. While the first seemed to set the scene, this one is full of action. Now book three oils bring this to a wonderful conclusion.
I dont care about the nitty gritties of the writing when the read is this wholesome and captivating. Although the writing felt redundant at times i cannot express the joy this gave me. I love it so much, from the characters to the world.
This the second book of the Invisible Born. This is a series which grabs my attention and did not let go into the end of the book. I keep wondering about the origin of Anira. There is more to discover about her.
