Letters of Solana

Rate this book
Letters of Solana is a collection of thirty letters filled with soul, sweetness, and living words. It is inspired by the name Solana that means, "light."

It is my hope that this book will not be stuck in corners and darkness. It is made to be displayed in the boldness of brokenness and second chances. It is made to pursue and stay in silent moments. It is meant to be shared and celebrated. It is meant to piece through and through. Whatever season you are in, it is made for you.

I rated this book 2/5 because of how too generic the book feels like. I have been a fan of Ms. San Diego's writings in her blog because they feel connected to her own personal stories and rich biblical truths which readers can just happen to draw some life insights relevant to them. While some parts of this book may feel encouraging, I still feel like majority of it was detached and stretched for commercial purposes. I will recommend people to check out her blog more than this book.

It has great content! Really encouraging. But I got so distracted by all the typos and grammatical errors.

I feel like this book is going to be one of those books where you get a different message every time you read it. We go through different things at certain points in life and books have this way of speaking to us differently every time we pick it up and read, at least that's how it is for me.

This book is perfect for those who are lost in life. It gave me reassurance that everything will be alright, through God's grace, God's love, God's divine plan. It taught me to trust in Him - even when it's hard and especially when it's hard. Sometimes, I tend to forget that.

First encounter with the book
I read it in August of 2018 and it reminded me of God's unfailing love. The letters that struck me were letter 22 entitled "Slow is Fast" and I learned to just simply trust the pacing of my life. Another favorite letter of mine is letter 26, "Am I Still Enough?", which made me feel secure of God's love and made me feel accepted despite my flaws and my imperfections. (When the time comes that I reread this book. I will edit my review, pick the letters that struck me, and share what its message of this book to me is during that time.)

I believe that those who are struggling with faith, those who couldn't stand firm in faith especially during life's trials should read this book. It will lead you back to Jesus and among these letters, you will surely find answers.

No matter how many wounds you have, He is proud to be seen with you. The whole world will see that God's love can heal the deepest wounds and can cover the broken missing pieces."

Let the weak say, "I am strong." (Joel 3:10)

Just read it with your mind and your heart. I'm sure that God will speak to you and reach out to you through one of these letters.

This has been a famous book among the Twitter world and my churchmate invited me to buy this book along with the author's other book A Place Called Love.

Can I just say that this book encouraged me a lot from the beginning until the end? The words written were filled with love and promises from the Lord. There were infused with Godly wisdom.

There's no doubt that I will re-read and recommend this to the women especially those who are hurting and those who want to find their true identity.

I've got so much love for this.

There was a paragraph of one chapter that was also written in another chapter. I don't know if it was a mistake or intentional, but somehow the topics of each chapter are very general. It's great for those who are struggling with mental health. I love reading bits of her blog because they feel personal and connects with the reader.

Compared to the other books that she wrote, I find this 1st book less interesting. Joena's way of writing completely improved as you read along with her next books after this one. I hope that her team would make sure that there's no typo error before printing. I still noticed some with the other books. If you're choosing what's best to buy, better choose Letters of Selah than this one.

“Letters of Solana” which also means “Light” is a collection of letters written by Joena San Diego. A small book filled with so many beautiful thoughts and inspiring words of wisdom about finding our way back into the light after being so broken and build a much stronger Faith and relationship to our Dearest God.

To Trust Him even more.

And for months, I’ve been wanting to own a copy of this, and so grateful that I found it at such a perfect time when I needed it the most.

Thank you so much!

I loved how this book never made me feel alone. That we need to be reminded that everything we do has a reason because of God. He loved and cared for us and is willing to guide us in every step of the way. I also love how this book was made of God's loving words. I bring this book wherever I go, thus His words are too.

[4.7/5 ⭐]

A book that fights for you.
A book that gives light and comfort.

In these trying times, this book has helped my heart speak from its roots. Whenever I keep going back to places where I'm not supposed to be, it is reminding me that God's love is eternal, pure and secured.

It is with these thirty letters that have only touched my heart and soul.

I got this as a gift from a friend. The letters were very personal, and the days when I was reading them were very apt in the situation that I was facing. I was very encouraged, and felt the Lord speaking to me, personally and intimately.

I feel comforted by this book. A lot if times the timing of the letter I’m reading and the experience I’m going through at that time matches such that the letters feel like they’re written directly to me for that moment.

Have you ever got to a point where you feel like you're chasing the wrong things? Or having troublesome thoughts about your body image? This book emends and reminds us that God is our only Judge and to invest in eternal things. It kept me guided and lessened my overthinking as I learned the truth.

The author has God's wisdom in writing this book. She really is annointed. She speaks the right words I need now. Thanks joena for saying yes to God to write a book.

Indeed, it is a book that will fight with and for you. Depth of my soul— my brokenness, rawness, messiest of thoughts, and whirlwind of emotions summed up through these beautiful letters.

I got this as a birthday gift and this book gave me light, comfort, and encouragement. There are times that I keep going back to places where I'm not supposed to be. But remember that God will meet you exactly where you are.

This is also a reminder to look at the beauty God is showing you. Don't look elsewhere. Stop looking for something that's not in here. And this book also made me realize that you may see a thousand signs out there but nothing beats a single confirmation made by His word.
