The final book in the internationally bestselling Protected by Dragons series. 18+ RH.
G. Bailey is a USA Today bestselling author of books that are filled with everything from dragons to pirates. Plus, fantasy worlds and breath-taking adventures. Oh, and some swoon-worthy men that no girl could forget. G. Bailey is from the very rainy U.K. where she lives with her husband, two children and three cheeky dogs.
I really liked this book, I wish there was a bit more on the fighting side of the action. This was the only reason I did not give it 5 stars, as the actual war part and the clash of Queens was just too rushed for me.
A great ending to the series, and good way to link into another series, there by extending them both. The path of destiny is in front of Isola, now she must find the courage and support to take it. The final fate of Dragca will be decided.
A great series, though it did feel a bit rushed in places. There are plenty of things that could be expanded on in the future. With the series linked who knows where these characters might appear again.
I loved this series so much. It was so easy to read and I feel like I flew through them all.
Wings of Dragca is the fifth and final installment of the Protected by Dragons series. In it, you will still see the same gang of people that you've met in the first book. However, there's a crap ton of danger in this book. There a lot of action and I was so worried about how this was all going to end - luckily, it ended on a happy note.
Isola needs all of her dragon guards back. Elias, my favorite, was recently kidnapped by them and he's sitting in a cage. WHY? Well, he's changed since his time with the evil queen. Somehow he died and is now under the darkness spell of Nane - who btw, happens to Bee's sister. She's a dark spirit, whereas Bee is a light.
Anyhoo, they are trying to figure out how to bring Elias back to the guy who loves everyone (well, in their little group). He does tend to say certain phrases that he did before the darkness took over.. but it takes them a while to figure out how to "save" him.
There's a bunch of war and almost deaths. It was intense guys. Then there's that ending, and I almost screamed at my book. I was going to accept a certain persons death.. BUT was totally okay with another's. It was so good and then the epilogue was freaking adorable. I loved it and I can't wait to dive into another series by this author.
I'm so sad to see the series end :(( Honestly, this is one of my favorite series ever!
I loved how it all ended. Isola and Winter's friendship is amazing! I think I need to go re-read the guardian series now. But I really hope there is a spin off series with their kids, and the destiny that Fate told Isola about. It would be such an amazing series.
Poor Elias got the really really short end of the stick in the series, and I feel so bad for him! His and Isola's relationship was probably the hardest to get to normal (even Thorne's was easier than his!) Which sucks because he was probably my favorite of the four. I'm glad that everything worked out for him in the end and they all got their happy ending <3
Tati finally got what was coming to her!!! I swear that b*tch was so delusional. Even Thorne wanted her dead. That's just sad dude.
Random thought, how are they going to celebrate their anniversary? They all got mated at different times XD
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Oh why does it have to end??? I have been hooked on this series since book one and it has been building to this fantastic conclusion that was not disappointing meeting all of my expectations but now it has come to an end. All the lingering questions have been answered along with a truly impressive final battle. The epilogue is just too sweet and makes you look forward to future books that may tie into this world even if there are other main characters. If you like dragons, magic, and RH then you really have to try this book/series. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
This is a bitter sweet moment. I loved this story. The guys all totally won me over. And I was invested in these characters from the start.
But I feel it was rushed? Like the ending could have been better. I mean not like drawn out or anything. But that little fight between Isola and Tatarina was too short.
I don’t know maybe it’s just me. But this was a super cute series and I totally loved it.
This book picks up right where the last one ended. It's filled with ups and downs and so so much love. I love that Bailey was able to add some happy moments with the characters.. even if they were at war. I think the balance between the love/relationship building and the fighting/storyline was perfect. I feel like the actual ending was very rushed but it still ended the series very nicely.
I am so sad that this is the last book. I have loved this series so much. Isola and her men are some of my favorite characters.
The ending seemed rush and the battle was pretty lack luster so I dropped a star. Solid series overall, though.
What I really want to know is where is the series about fairies? Like damn, you can't just say "oh yeah there are fairies" and NOT have a fairy romance available for my greedy, fairy loving eyes. Rudddeee.
Can't lie to you guys. Spoiler central up in this book for the other series that are attached to it. Very short read and imo kind of anticlimactic ending after all we have been through. Though the epilogue was cute and showed how all the characters are getting the HEA's I just feel like the story itself was rushed and there are plot holes galore. I am hoping maybe I can start over and read the other series' first and then maybe I'll appreciate this a little more.
Writing this review I am both sad and happy. Sad because this series is coming to an end, and happy because Wings of Dragca was a great book. There is so much that happens. So many lows, and highs, and as always with a G. Bailey book twists and turns. I loved how Isola is truly a queen, how family is so important with her. And oh my, her mates. Every single one of them are just perfect for her in what ever compacity she needs. The ending was a perfect blend of the happiness of now and what is to come.
Wings of Dragca picks up where Wings of Fate leaves off. I don't want to reveal any plots or story line, but the story is packed with a lot going on. We have several things happening, but the storyline flows to where it is easy to keep up. Also loved the cameo with Winter and her mates. Loved seeing them again. Really liking these two together, forming a friendship.
Isola and her mates complement each other perfectly. I really don't have a favorite, they are all just that perfect. There are some what is happening moments, which you will read, but I didn't doubt Isola in her choices. The mating scenes are exactly what you were waiting for!
And as always, Gem closes a series with all things answered and wrapped up with a nice neat bow. If you have been following this series, you get what you wanted. If you haven't, definitely give this series a try, it is so worth it.
I absolutely fell in love with this series and the characters. It was an emotional read, with lots of ups and downs, and definitely hits you in the feels. The characters are well written, and their story was beautifully written as well. It is easy to fall in love with the characters, relate to them, and feel for them as the story progresses. If you're looking for an escape, and enjoy fantasy as much as I do, this is definitely a series I recommend reading. It was so good that I read all 5 books within 2 days. You can't help but want to know what is going to happen next, and it's definitely addicting. The lack of sleep was well worth it, though in the end!
This series should have ended at book 3 because what comes after that is just a repitition of, may be similar events, with similar reactions and oh, so similar resolutions. After going through 5 books (okay mini-books, but still) that climax was quite anticlimatic and disappointing. The fighting scenes were confused, and not so well written, I am really not sure what happened. I think I got who was there at the final battle, fire dragons, flying/walking dead dragons, angels, witches, were wolves and maybe demons and humans, I am not really sure. I also dont know what they were doing, or how they were doing it or even their roles in the fight, I just dont know.
Back to the series - Isola, a dragon princess and boyfriend/fiance are hidden on Earth by her father and they are raised as humans. Something bad happens and she goes back home and meets these 4 guys who are supposed to be her guards, oh and there's a curse. Something bad happens again she goes back to Earth. Something bad happens on Earth again, she goes back home, I guess by now you get where this is going. Basically wash, rinse, repeat, over and over for 5 books, then the above battle happens and a somewhat nice epilogue, I guess to compensate, then the end.
Nothing really happens, and just as we get to the climax point, we go to a boring af unrelated scene.
The whole climatic point was rushed then stops adruptly without proper conclusion. Like the author didn’t quite know how to write that part, kept avoiding it and then continued to avoid it by writing only an extract of it.
There is then suddenly a thousand kiddies running around, like that is the greatest joy a woman can have.
This series should have been much much shorter. I found myself trying not to fall asleep a few times.
I think it would be a great story for 14 year old girls (if they took out the equally boring (and repetitive) sex scenes ... where participants last about 3 minutes.)
This is one of the absolute best series I have read and wish there were 10 more books!! G Bailey is an absolute artist ad far as writing and making someone get lost in her writing goes
I wish I could give this series 5/5 because the IDEA is good. Problem is it is too short. Tbh I dont understand why it is divided in 5 books when it cpuld have been 1 and still probably smaller than 1 book of twilight (e.g.). I feel like the scenes stay as an idea, like it is probably a draft of brainstorming and the author was too lazy to fill the story in.
I like the IDEA of the story, the POTENTIAL of the scenes. But again it's simply too SHORT. And there are even unnecessary scenes here and there that with the "book" being too short it just takes away from scenes that could have been better developed... like the ending? What was that jajaj? I was so nervous for the possible death of either eli or issy for the sooo awaited battle to be over in less than 5 min and not even an immidiate aftermath to see what happened!!!! Did the battle end as tatarina died? Did her mates feel her change when she was merging with nane and bee?? Did eli revive immidiately? How did they "bond" with each other? Did issy pass out? Etc etc etc questionsss unanswered... also the epilogue COME ON if you are gping to throw the pregnancy card why not show us a bit how her mates took care of her if it was "difficult"....
Also so many information was wasted in the forshadowing of a spinoff series... instead of planning a new shifter RH why not try to IMPROVE and DELIVER a well thought out and written series first...
This book was everything I needed it to be and then some. I mean wow. We start off from where we ended the last book. Isola and her dragon are using the academy to recoup. Eli has been turned against them. Seeing Isola so desperate to save him was a sweet touch. I like that in the midst of all the war and horror that she was able to find those quiet sweet moments with her mates. I do feel like she favored Thorne and idk if it's because they mated first or what, but after all the time she spent "hating" him. I just wanted to make sure she wasn't puting him above her other dragons. I loved seeing Winter and her mates come through for them. The language and description of the world really draws you in. I could smell the decay and smoke during the battle from Tatiana's army. I could hear the dragons as they clawed and battled each other.i could see winter throwing her blue magic and daggers. Isola with her spear and ice powers. It was so vibrant and alive. It was such a great read.
Wings of Dragca is the perfect conclusion to the Protected by Dragons series.
It's finally time for Isola to take her rightful place as Queen, destroying Tatarina and finding the balance between the light and the dark. With Elias brainwashed, their forces scattered and outnumbered by Tatarina's army of the dead, and Bee MIA, Isola and the guys have quite the battle ahead of them. But luckily they aren't alone. With a little help from family and some new friends, Isola is ready to become the queen she was meant to be and save her world.
This was the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I especially loved the epilogue that gives us a glimpse into a beautiful future for both Isola's and Winter's children. I really hope G. Bailey writes something for them in the future!
This series has been a crazy ride of plot twists, heart break, and just overall amazement. As always G. Bailey has blown me away and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
Pages: 150 My rating (stars): 4 Read other books from this author in the future: yes
This is now the fifth and last book of the series Protected by Dragons. This series has good main characters. Also characters from other books by G. Bailey have an appearance here and connect the different series to a "Bailey Fantasy world". Altogether I liked the whole series and I'm curious what kind of story G. Bailey will tell in the future.
Wow... I’m so sad to see this story end but I couldn’t imagine a better end for it! Gem has taken us on one hell of a ride with Isola’s story and it has been absolutely AMAZING. our queen refused to back down and let herself fail! Watching Isola and the guys grow and become stronger, mature, and ready to rule their people has brought many tears to my eyes, both happy and sad. Winter and her mates are still bad a$$ and I’ve missed them terribly! I love Bee’s character and personality! So adorable and sassy! This story has a little bit of everything happy, sad, action, steamy scenes. It’ll have you squealing like a teenage girl in NO TIME. I highly recommend reading this book and this entire series. It has been a breathtaking story to follow!
This book omg this book was absolutely amazing! This book picks up where the last book left off and omg what a whirlwind of ups and downs, twists and turns. I am sad that this was the last book in this series but I am happy that Isola got all her men and got her wish of happiness. G. Bailey definitely knows how to really hook her readers and take them on a wild exciting ride when she weaves her stories. Which is probably why she’s one of my favorite authors because I absolutely love how she creates amazing books that just takes you along for a ride. But anyway yes I most definitely do recommend this book to anyone who’s searching for a fantastic story to get lost within. But fair warning if you haven’t read any of the books before this one then I highly suggest that you do otherwise you will get really confused with who’s who and what’s happening.
What a finale! It’s great that our heroes are able to steal what little happiness they can during times of war. Tatarina must die but she can’t while still linked to Eli, Isola will do anything to save him but first she has the trouble of trying to get him to remember her. These are just a few issues that need mending in the final book of the series but GL Bailey manages to tie everything up in a nice little HEA. This book had a few surprises along the way that has me excited I will say though some of the timeline confuses me a bit and i won’t get used to the ‘sat vs sitting’ lingo but such a great series overall.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
Such a great ending to this reverse harem series! G Bailey really knows how to end a series and show the Happily Ever After!
This book picks up right where the last one left off. Isola and her dragon guards have been through so much! She still has to save Eli and no one seems to know how to save him. Isola has a tough choice to make... Save the one she loves or save Dragca.
I loved reading about these characters and this world. It was so different from anything I have read before and loved it! I'm not going to go out and read every dragon reverse harem book now, but G Bailey sure knows what she is doing.
This series is gonna be so hard to say goodbye to, it was so worth the wait to finally read what happens to our awesome friends. Reading this series you get so emotional attached to the characters that you want to keep reading and never have the series end. Such an amazing ending to a rollercoaster ride that all your readers will never forget , never a disappointment with any of your books, Thank you from all of your readers for gracing us with another Gem of a book ... This book was reviewed by a Book Loving Vixen...
Can’t believe that this is the end, what an ending. I loved the journey that the author brought us readers along on with Isola and her dragons. After the dramatic and breathe stealing ending that us readers were left with, we have to question can Isola really save Elias. Guess you will have to read to find out!! I loved the special guests that make a surprising entrance. I love how the author has created and connected so many great world and books. Can’t wait to see what is next! And to see these characters again in the future
I didn't read Winter's story first but it didn't make Issy's story any harder to understand. This was a great series and I loved the balance between romance and adventure. There wasn't too much description on the battles and lovemaking but there was enough to make reading the story enjoyable. I really loved the epilog and the glimpses into Issy's happily ever after. I am very interested to know whether little Emery, Jordan, and the rest of the next generation, gets a story soon.
Wings of Dragca is the heartbreaking, loving, hopeful and action packed ending of the Protected by Dragons series. The cross over of G. Bailey’s characters occur again in this story, with Queen Winter and her mates joining Isola and her Guardians in the battle of Light and Dark. I highly recommend this series, and suggest that the other series G Bailey has written are read well, as a lot interconnect, which I think is a brilliant concept.
I cant believe the series is over! I will deeply miss everyone it felt like they were appart of my life. i lovde the fact that winter shows up to help save the day and how fast friends she became with isola. I thought the mating ceremonies were beautifully written and the ending to the book was simply perfect Some series change your life this was it for me
Dang what an ending to a great series! Love this series! Dragons and RH and also other characters from G. Bailey's other series, love that. Elias being well "dead" and Isola has to try and get him back. All while defending Dragca from the evil Queen and also keeping her people alive. She must get Nane on her side or it was all for nothing and Dragca falls and Elias falls. Winter and her Army to come and help was awesome to have them come. But the ending though! So happy!!!!
Isola has been on a wild journey from Earth to Dragca and back and back again. She’s known both love and betrayal on the grandest of scales. Her life has been turned upside down and backwards. She’s faced a fight of epic proportions on many fronts. Will love finally conquer all and she get the happy ending she deserves? Finally find out the answers to all the questions you’ve had for this series. An epic end to an epic story.
