Ever since I stopped using a guidebook as my sole travel planner--so, ever since the internet provided additional help in this arena--I have really come to love these sorts of guides, which are lush with photographs and lean on where to stay and what to eat.
In planning a trip to the north of Spain, this is particularly true--there just is not that much information in traditional guides when trying to get a bit off the beaten path as a traveler in Europe. I opened this book with one sort of trip in mind, but after reading it, I reconsidered my original plan, expanding upon it with the information provided within.

I had dreamed of walking the Camino de Santiago in 2020/2021 but the pandemic changed everything. This dream has been put on hold. But with this book I was able to armchair travel to the areas of Northern Spain that I'd like to visit and flagged specific sections for future reference. The descriptions are informative and the photos/graphics are inspiring. I know I'll get there someday and when I do, I'll be taking this book with me!

I just did a quick reading of the areas that interest me, no more, just a quick read. I will definitely give it a more thorough look if I end up actually going there!
