Pseudonym for Patricia Ponder AKA Jennifer Blake, Patricia Maxwell, and Elizabeth Trehearne
She married at 15 but by 21 she needed to be something more than a housewife and she began writing. She sold her first book at 27. She start writing gothic novels with her real name, Patricia Maxwell; she wrote one book in collaboration as Elizabeth Trehearne and she wrote a murder mystery and a romantic suspense story with her maiden name, Patricia Ponder. When the gothic genre began to decay, she began to publish only in the romance genre: contemporary romances as Maxine Patrick and historical romances as Jennifer Blake, the only pseudonym that she uses now.
Since 1998, Patricia and her husband have resided in a lakeside Caribbean-styled retreat in North Louisiana where they often entertain friends and family.
The story flows nicely. I enjoyed the characters, they are believable. The plot is engaging. I really enjoyed this wonderful story. I say read it, makes a very good bedtime read.
This is The Abducted Heart written by Jennifer Blake. I loved the way the characters are so real. They share my insecurities and are quick to misunderstand. And the wonderful sneakiness that’s is his grandmother?? She is such a wonderful woman with quite the talent of matchmaking. I loved them all!
Unfortunately this is a bit dated. The male MC appears to be a bully/jerk rather than the dominant alpha I'm sure he was meant to be. The female MC is a doormat. Who would go along with something like this? Maybe under different circumstances but not these.
I was so engrossed in this book this afternoon, I don't think I talked to my husband much. I just couldn't put it down until I was finished. I loved this book and your writing style. It is a great love story and it brought me to tears a couple of times. I would highly recommend this book to my friends
Copyrighted 1978. May look updated by the cover but reads like an 80's Harlequin so be aware. Dated language, extensive details about Mexico & Aztec heritage, not a lot of relationship building. Very formula romance.
This is the 1st book I read by Jennifer Blake. The only thing I liked about this story was the food that was mentioned in it, they sounded delicious. This book's story line & characters was boring & dull.
An ordinary romantic novel, that has not any bizarre actions. The end was expected from the very beginning. I did not enjoy it that much, but it is okay to read it one afternoon!
