What do you do when your friend’s planet runs out of women? Join them for takeout, of course. Radek is a prince with a problem. He wants to see the galaxy, but an ancient law forbids any member of the Romaki Dragon Clans from ever leaving their planet. So, what’s a Romaki Snow dragon to do? Defy the law, hop a ride with a friend, and head for the far side of the galaxy, that’s what. As the Pyrosians prepare to claim their mates, all Radek has to do is sit back, enjoy the party, and keep one little promise – no shifting into a dragon while he’s visiting Earth. What could be simpler? This book contains a sassy chef whose dreams just went up in flames, and a runaway prince who came to Earth looking for answers - and found his destiny instead.

This is the best story of the series. I think I'm going to end reading it right here. I loved how the story didn't just end on earth. That's what made it the best I think.

The six books thus far in Susan Hayes' Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides series have yet to fail to put a grin on my face. They're solidly in the category of what I like to think of as pew-pew science fiction (with the full intent to make it clear I'm talking zero shame for loving pew-pew science fiction) where the SF elements are flavourful and fun and—in Hayes' capable hands—sexy.

In Radek, we finally get to figure out what exactly happened after the explosion that occurred in the fourth book, where, y'know, a freaking dragon showed up, and the answer is Radek himself: a prince who is from a different planet than the Pyrosians we've met thus far in the series, Radek has the ability to shift into a dragon form, as well as to perform various feats of magic bestowed to his kind by the twin gods his people worship. Or so say the priests. Those same priests have been saying anyone who leaves their home world will lose their shapeshifting abilities and be cursed to lose their magic.

Which doesn't happen to Radek. Indeed, instead of all that doom-and-gloom (something he's pretty sure the priests are doling out to maintain their own power), the most impossible thing happens: his dragon recognizes a mate, and amid the explosions and destruction, Radek meets, finds—and, okay, bites—Piper.

Piper has been having a shit day. Her sister got matched with a super-hot alien mail-order date (no, really), and the chef job of her dreams is on hold because the damn restaurant burned down. She's trying to get her sister to be willing to take a chance (her sister totally never takes chances) by going with her to the big gala-like meeting where her sister has a shot to meet tall, alien, and handsome.

And then everything blows up. Literally. Like, concrete falling from the sky literally.

Post-explosion, Piper is trying to be grateful. According to the super-sexy-arctic-blond guy, she would have died if the super-sexy arctic-blond guy in question hadn't bitten her, but now that she's on her feet, it occurs to her she doesn't even know this guy, and while she's a wild-and-free type, this is a bit much. He claims he's a dragon-alien-prince, which isn't quite the easily swallowed trifecta, but it's hard to deny it when he turns into a dragon right in front of her. Which involves him also being naked, which makes it super hard to ignore how freaking hot he is and how hot he makes her.

But that nibble might have done more than heal Piper, and the last thing she's expecting is to maybe end up with wings of her own. Oh, and it's possible she'll need to leave the planet and try to save a whole alien civilization from a not-so-benevolent group of priests.

No big.

Radek and Piper.

Rage comes with his friend Vadir to the gathering on Earth. When the explosions started he got Vadir and Lisa to safety and went back to find the blue haired woman he had seen he thought was his mate. When he got to her she had been caught in an explosion and was bleeding and dying before his eyes. He did the only thing he could to save her and have her a bite and changed to his dragon and flew her out of there to the mountains. When Piper awakens Radek is there and for 4 days they are in the rux, the mating fever while he reaches her about being a dragon and about her life with him in a new role. She is not met with anything but hostility but she puts everyone in their place and things get better. Their world is ending their isolation and are setting up embassies in Earth with diplomats from Out of and Radek and Piper will be opening up an embassy on Out of. Piper is getting a restaurant attached to embassy.

Charming

Claire had signed for the IDA but no matches were found for her. However her sister was meeting her match, so she tagged along to watch from the stadium. Pandemonium erupted as a series of bombs went off . Trying to escape she's trapped under some rubble. Enter Radak, who searched for her, his mate.
Radak comes to Earth with some friends to escape his family for awhile. His inner dragon shouts at him to find mate, protect n claim. He's baffled but listens anyway. As the chaos unfolds he uses his magic to protect his friends while they escape. Then he searches for the enticing female with blue eyes. Finds her trapped under some concrete rubble just barely alive. To save her he must convert her with a bite. Not really sure it would work but hoping the gods hadn't let him finally meet his match only to lose her.
This story was so charming as Claire n Radak learn about each other.

Yet another great story in this series. This time it is the first dragon, and a rebel royal at that. Radek is considered somewhat forward thinking. Having always felt there was more his peoples life. Not one under the thumbs of religious fanatics. He accepts a ride from Vadir and his mate to visit the first and only gathering. In the panic and aftermath of the explosions, he had previously seen his mate. Finding her injured, he claims her and flees the scene to nurse and protect her.
They now start their journey through mating and learning about each other. There is much to this story, catching up with family and friends, old and new. They also have their hiccups, but get through them with strength and love. Now onto the next in this very enjoyable series.

Good read

This book is the last of the series...so far. The other books seem to end when the mated couples accepted their mates and destinies. This one, of Radek and Piper, goes onto his home planet to face his family, subjects, and temple priests. He's from the Ice Dragon Clan and she is an earthling. There is humor, a little angst, hot sex, and shapeshifting to Dragon form. I hate to see this series end. Loved it. Best fantasy/sci-fi I've read since Jayne Castle. Highly recommend.

Radek and Piper are my favorite couple so far. If you like mythical creatures and alien romance you will enjoy this book! An alien dragon shifter with magic and a humble female with snark and a mind of her own, what could possibly go wrong? You will have to immerse yourself in this series and this book to find out!

Radek

Not just an alien this time, but an alien dragon. Sneaking off his planet just to see what it is like and having found his mate, ending in a HEA . Who would of thought; except for his friend, whose wife is a psychic and painted a portrait of 2 dragons flying in space above the earth before he left his home planet!

I loved Radek and the change in pace from the Pyrosian men. A little disappointed in the too easy and wide reaching magical capabilities of the dragon species, but otherwise, a lot of fun to read. Enjoyed Piper's tendency to take things in her stride as well, as it would have been a much more difficult book otherwise!

3.5 only because again, way too short. The previous books in this series introduced the Pyrosians. Now we meet a Romaki Dragon?! There were not enough pages for this! I didn't feel the connection as much because it felt rushed. I need more!!

What an awesome story!

Radek and Piper are a very special couple. When she found out that he it's we to save here life, her anger that he had not told. When she found out that she was a dragon like him she was elated! She is mated to her Prince and part Romaki.

I love the twists and turns of this story. The imagination of the author to come up with some of these ideas is pretty cool! It put me through all of the emotions needed to make a great book.

I’ve been listening all the audiobooks in this series over the last few days and this has got to be one of my favorites so far! I loved the dragon element as well as the continued storyline that went beyond the couples first meeting and initial mating days. I can’t wait to dive into the next book!

Piper got caught in the blast at the Gathering but Radek found her and bit her to heal her. Together they wanted to bring about change to Romak. It was going to be a struggle. Enjoy

Piper was always the more rebellious one. Aria, her sister, raised her after they lost their mother when Piper was a teenager. Their father was gone when she was a baby, so it was pretty much just them, until Aria had a daughter, Melody. Now it is the three of them & their good friend Haley. Haley trying to get her sister to concentrate more on her own life then Piper's, signed them both up for the Alien dating service. Piper wasn't matched, but Aria was, they all go together. Aria is planning to say no, Piper & Haley tell her to give it a chance. While they are there a couple of males come in from the side one catches Piper's eye. A really good looking blonde. The Blonde guy, Radek, is getting a little edgy something is bothering him. He is not like the other aliens, he is not supposed to be there at all. He is an Ice Dragon Prince from the planet Romaki. He had left his planet with his friend Vadir, to get proof of dragons being on earth before & to get away from the woman his mother keeps pushing at him. He doesn't like her & doesn't want her as a consort. While they are at the gathering his dragon keeps telling him to claim the blue haired girl the he has spotted out in the crowd. He didn't expect this to happen! There is an attack on the alien men, he uses his magic to shield many of them. When it is over he goes to find her. He spots her crushed under concrete & dying. The only way he knows to save her is to claim her & turn her into a dragon as well. He bites her & claims her without her knowing because she is knock out. She stops breathing for a few minutes & he believes her dead, then she starts breathing again. He transforms, something he had sworn not to do, & takes off with her. They need to find somewhere quiet that they can talk & go through the dragon mating cycle. He finds some far off meadow & stops to land. She wakes to see her bloody clothes, & the blonde guy standing in front of an ice house in the middle of summer. He tells her she is all right. She is worried about her family & friend, but his communicator was destroyed in the blast. He tells her he is a dragon prince. She tells him she would like to see his dragon, he shows her. He tells her they are mated & explains a little more. He offers to make her some food, she tells him she is a chef. What is she going to do if there is no where for her to work, because everyone can magically make their own food. He reminds her, he is a prince, she doesn't need to work. The get to talking, he says if she wants she could open a place to serve earth food for the earth women who mate the other aliens. She thinks it would be great, she'd be the only one! They decide to go flying, she is having a great time riding her dragon. Then he goes into a few more dives, she grabs on to him & gets sort of scared. He lands & wants to know what is wrong. She tells him she just had a strange feeling to jump off & try to fly herself. Plus she heard a voice in her head tell her something. He had been going to tell her later but it looks like that changes everything. He tells her that her dragon has emerged. She wants to know what he is talking about. He tells her that to save her, he had to change her into one of them. He asks if she would like to see what her dragon looks like, she says later but her dragon wants to get out. His dragon wants to see his mate, & he is curious as well. Three against one, so he tells her how to change, she does & looks as good as she can. He tells her to go into the water to see her reflection. They change back and get through the mating cycles. They manage to send a signal to the ship on an ice sheet & power blasts. He is teaching her little spells & how to fly. They fly to the ship & see Aria, Haley & their mates. When they arrive at Romaki & depart, they are met by his unhappy family & the priests that have been saying that anyone who leaves Romaki will loose their magic & never find mates. He introduces Piper as his mate & tells them of the proof that is shone on earth that dragons had been there before. There is a gathering after, Radek is called away, Vadir & Lisa stay with Piper. The woman who had been pushed at him comes up to see Piper for herself & make a few degrading remarks. Piper cuts her down to size but decides to go to their quarters. Vadir & Lisa takes her up. Radek stays down for a while, Lisa stays with Piper to help her sort things out. When she leaves, she sends Radek up. They go flying so he can show her the city. There is a breakfast meeting the next day for the whole family, they are all talking about what to do about the beliefs the priests have been telling them for hundreds of years. It seems like the family is willing to listen now. A year later they are going to Pyros, she can't wait to see her sister & niece again. On the way there he informs her that, on Pyros he has had a restaurant built just for her. There are enough Human women there who would enjoy earth food. She is ecstatic! I love it. I am already reading it again!

I really enjoyed this book I had read the book on Tarjen first that was free from Bookfunnel and it had a blurb about this book at the end and I had to buy it. I am so glad that I did. Though the two books were very different there were someways that they were alike as far as the misunderstandings between mates. But I loved how they were able to work through them in a loving way. It is a shame that we as human can’t have disagreements with our chosen partners in the same fashion, to disagree, and work on a solution instead of putting each other down. Or is some sad cases using physical, and emotional abuse. But as each of these stories shows it takes the two parties that love each other enough to stop and listen to one another then come up with solutions instead of blaming someone else for the problem. As I said this story is different from the other one that I read. This one with Radek is different in the case that he is a dragon. On his world no one has been allowed to leave the planet in centuries. The colonies that they had out in the galaxies either came back to the planet because of weather, cataclysm or war. Some of their ship just never came back and they lost contact with them. Their priest had decided that it was their gods that had decided that it was against their will for them to leave. The priest also purged a lot of the information about their history making things even more difficult to find the truth as they had changed it over the years to gain more power.
Radek was tired of everyone telling him differently he knew that there was more to this and wanted a way to prove this. Vadir had come to the planet once again to try and broker a trade deal with the planet. He and his mate Lisa who is from Earth had been trying to do this for sometime. Radek had grown tired of the parties and the people with their false faces out front either wanting something from him or the women flirting with him. Savta though she was beautiful on the outside was anything but on the inside had come to him telling him that his mother had wanted her to be his consort until one of them had found a mate. Frankly he didn’t want to have anything to do with her and after telling her so returned to his room. That is where Vadir found him and convinced him to go with him on this trip to Earth for the Gathering.
The Gathering was put together by Earth and the Prosians so that they men could meet up with their chosen mates. It was something similar that they had done on their own planet. They were at the stadium in Vancouver Radek and Vadir with Lisa waiting for the Royalty to arrive.
Piper was sitting in the stands with her sisters friend Haley watching and waiting for her sister Aria and baby niece to meet the man that they were mated with. Radek’s dragon was becoming upset as he stood there waiting and couldn’t understand why until he could hear it tell him find, seek, claim. Their mate was somewhere in the stadium and they were looking for her when they suddenly spotted her about the time the explosions started. He protected the people around him by putting up a shield for them to leave then he went to search for his mate who turned out to be Piper.
Radek did find her but it was not the way that he had wanted. She was laying on the ground with the lower part of her body covered by a huge slab of concrete. When he threw it off of her it was so heavy that it crushed the chairs where it landed. Unfortunately it had done the same thing to her lower body and she was dying. The only hope she had was if he bit her and mated with her without her consent. He did, at first she stopped breathing and he feared he had lost her but once he kissed her on her forehead a force of energy passed between him and she was awake and breathing again. He placed a sleeping spell on her transformed into his dragon and few off with her before the rux would start once she awakened. He would have a lot of explaining to do with her. There was a lot of new things for her to learn not only about him but about the changes that were going to be happening to her body. Changes that he wasn’t even sure would happen. It was interesting to read how they traversed through all of these different situations. More so how they handled his mother the Queen and the priest once the got back to his homeworld. It wasn’t exactly like he thought it would be. I really enjoyed this book it was so nice to disappear into its pages.

Prince Radek Makyrn, an ice dragon of the planet Romak, made his way through the crowd in honor of the Pyrosian visitors who had not yet been informed that the trade talks they came for had once again been put off. As he passed, Savta grabbed his arm to tell him his mother, the Queen, wanted to see him. Radek reminded her again that he would not be her consort, regardless of his mother’s command to do so. He had no intention of spending any time at all with her, despite her threats. He walked outside for a little quiet and heard the door open. Fortunately, it was Vadir Rahal, one of the visiting Pyrosians whom he considered a friend. He told Vadir about his argument with Savta. Vadir asked if he knew anything about Earth, where his own mate came from. They were going to visit, and he thought it was significant that Earth had a word that described Radek perfectly – dragon. Apparently Radek’s species had also at one time visited Earth. And if they were in their dragon form as evidenced by Earth’s knowledge of them, it proved the priests lied about their losing their magic if they ever left their own planet.

Piper had just lost her dream job when the restaurant she would start work for burned down. She didn’t dare let her sister, Aria, know. It would just give her an excuse to not accept the Pyrosian male she had been matched to. Today, she would meet the alien and she knew Aria planned to turn him down. Piper would have loved to go to another planet to live, but unfortunately, there was no match for her. But 500 hot alien men would be a great venue to enjoy today as the other women met their matches through the Star-Crossed Dating Agency.

Radek entered the stadium where the Pyrosians were meeting their mates. His dragon felt uneasy, repeating ‘find, take, claim’ in his mind loudly. His gaze moved to a blue-haired woman in the stands and his dragon shouted ‘Claim!’, just as stood up and an explosion sounded. He immediately put up a protective shield around the guests so they could escape without harm. Then he ran to where he had spotted the woman his dragon claimed was his mate. She was pinned under concrete, her legs crushed and bleeding heavily. He had only one option to save her. Despite her not giving consent, he had to claim her or she would die. As it seemed she was fading and stopped breathing, he felt a sudden surge of power from her and she opened her eyes as the claiming worked! He put her to sleep with his magic, shifted into dragon form, and flew them to a mountain range. Until their initial mating fever ended and he could teach her about being a dragon now, they would need privacy. And afterward, when it was time to return to Romak, how would Radek present the truth to his family about the priests’ lies? How would his people react to something this big that would change their lives? Things would be much more complicated now.

This was an absolutely wonderful book that captures the reader’s emotions and draws them in. Piper is such a perky, adaptable woman that the reader can’t help but love her. Radek is my all-time favorite; being a dragon makes it impossible not to love him, but his personality brings him to perfection! The other books in this series were amazing, but this one was even more so. Grab your copy quickly and see what you’ve been missing!

Radek is the sixth book in the Star Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides series, part of the Intergalactic Dating Agency world. While there’s familiar characters and a plot line that connects to the previous two books, this one can stand alone. Radek is the youngest prince of Romak, but is a black sheep of his family, and decides to travel with his friend to Earth to explore their myths of dragons. Unexpectedly, he sees Piper and his dragon knows that she’s his mate. Making a split decision that would bind her to him forever, Radek is excited about all of the possibilities finding a human mate will mean on his home world. But can he convince Piper to come with him and stand by his side while they fight the upcoming battles?

Holy smokes, what a way to end this segment of the series! Each of these ladies have had their lives rocked by their alien mates, and Piper is no exception! I love that Piper believes Radek to be crazy when he first explains everything to her. The cultures of this new planet were fun to explore, as well, with a strong importance on the Gods and fate, all the way to the dating and mating rituals. I loved that Radek was one to constantly ask questions and to find all of the information instead of blindly following. Radek is one to take risks for what he believes in and for those he loves. Piper has big dreams and longs to find someone who will love her for herself. While it sometimes takes her brain a minute to catch up with her body and soul, I love that she’s cautious, but fierce and loyal! They made an amazing team and I loved their bonding! I love this whole series and if you’re looking for a fun and quick paced sci-fi romance, give these aliens and their human mates a chance!
