Introduction The Generally Misunderstood Emancipation Proclamation The South Not Responsible for Slavery Treatment of Prisoners in the Confederacy The South in the Matter of Pensions Injustice to the South The Secession of 1861 Founded Upon Legal Right The South and Germany
This is an excellent book that reviews the issues leading up to and through the War for Southern Independence to clearly prove the 1) the Union/Northern States' actions in the 2 decades prior to the war led to the secession of the Southern states, 2) the war was started by Lincoln's action to reinforce Fort Sumter after promising not to, 3) the Southern states, President Lincoln and the Union were not fighting the war to eliminate slavery, 4) the Northern states propaganda machine dominated the post war period to promote there perspective on the war which was dishonest.
Great content . The paperback font is too small and difficult to read, but the Kindle is easy to see. The historical value is priceless in a world determined to rewrite history. The facts recorded in this collection documents the reasons for the war between the states and proves that secession was not based in slavery and certainly not racial.
An interesting discourse disproving some inflammatory rhetoric of the North. Sad sad, sadly these accounts are balanced with truth. The year was 1920. Well worth reading but copy is difficult because of printing errors.
