This was a short quick read that I liked. Celeste is a 20 year old college student that is dealing with a life that has forced her to grow up quickly. She is trying to get her degree in criminal law. Alex is always watching her. This was a short quick read. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading book one of this series.

So I am new to reading Stella Hart and I am extremally excited to read this story. So I am not disappointed in this prequel. It wasn't too long to give anything away, but just enough to wet your whistle.

Celeste is a college student, a daughter of an alcoholic, and being stalked- of course, she doesn't know about the last one. Reading these few chapters have set me for this series. I want to know why she has a stalker, what she is supposed to be remembering and why she doesn't remember.

We only get one chapter from Alex (the stalker) and it is just enough to drive you crazy.

I thought I'd give Stella Hart another chance after my highly mixed feelings r.e. Torn: A Dark Captive Romance. I'm unfortunately DNFing even this very short book at 36% but I want to be clear that this is for personal reasons and not down to Cold Hearts itself. Let's just say that liver disease is a touchy subject in my household and leave it at that.

Not, I think, my kind of thing

but well enough put together if it’s yours… and unlike the last prequel/preview I read and just panned, that an author understands the importance of language and craft actually does matter (I’m tired, tired of those who make excuses for poor syntax and etc., but since those aren’t an issue here…)

The pace of this prequel was much too slow though the story seemed promising. It didn’t really draw me in to want to read book one. Curious but not sure about this series.

Intriguing Prequel

Celeste is a 20 year old college student who is studying about criminal justice. Her dad died prematurely from an accident and her mom, who turned to the bottle, is hospitalized and dying from cirrhosis of the liver. Celeste lives alone in a small ramshackle house in a somewhat questionable part of town and, although she has three part time jobs, is broke.

During a class with a guest speaker from the FBI, there is a discussion about a serial killer, known as The Heartbreaker, who has been abducting and murdering residents in the area for quite many years. The speaker also tells the class that the FBI is sponsoring two internships that the class members can apply for. It seems that Celeste is very knowledgeable about all aspects of this case and it appears extremely important to her to get this internship so she can learn more about the case, which she clearly has an interest in that is far beyond normal.

While out with friends for her birthday, we learn that Celeste has been stalked for the past few years by someone who always leaves her a gift for her birthday. While traveling from one establishment to another Celeste slips on the ice and is caught by an extremely handsome pedestrian on the sidewalk. Although she finds the man very interesting, Celeste's gut feeling is to try and get away from him. But he doesn't stick around. What he does and thinks about next, though, is extremely compelling and ends this prequel.

I have read other series by this author and really enjoy her descriptive writing style, unique storylines and the manner in which she develops her characters and stories. It certainly appears that this series will continue that practice.

Cold Hearted Killer's Muse💃

This is a novella, a prequel to the Cold Hearts series of books about a serial killer who rips out the hearts💔🔪 of his victims.
Celeste💃📑 is his muse. She is now 20, and majoring in criminology at college. She is fascinated and obsessed with the Heart Breaker💔🔪 serial killer, but she doesn't know why. At times she feels like someone is following her or watching her.
Every year since she was 16, she receives a silver heart charm💘 for the charm bracelet she received anonymously. Even though she has moved a few times, the sender always knows where to send it.....

Her mother, an alcoholic🍸, is dying of liver failure at the local hospital hospice center. She was never there for her, being drunk🍸 all the time, so Celeste💃📑 basically raised herself. Celeste💃📑 visits her, she is her mother, after all, even though her drinking and wild spending left nothing for Celeste💃📑 to get by on.
Celeste💃📑 hopes to get an internship with the FBI, who still hunt the Heart Breaker💔🔪 serial killer.

What a great beginning to what promises to be an exciting, fascinating, and well written series! Can't wait!

Interesting premise ... can't wait to see what is going to happen!

This short story provides the background for Bleeding Hearts, the first book in the series. Not sure yet if it will be a serial, or have different focuses as the next stories are released, but the premise is definitely interesting.

Celeste is a college student studying criminology. Her mother became an alcoholic after her father died, so she ended up leaving home at 16. Now her mother is in the end stages of liver disease and Celeste is trying to spend as much time as she can in between school and her part time jobs.

Celeste has certain 'feelings' about things, such as when it is going to snow. She also has a very strong inner voice that has kept her remaining chaste in every way. For some reason she also feels like she is being watched, but there is never anyone there ...

I am truly looking forward to reading the first book in the series.

I must admit when I started reading this prequel I had forgotten what it was about and so I was reading it without any clues to the story. The first part of th e story gives a brief description of Celeste’s life and what she wants to do. Her mother is dying and she visits her in hospital regularly. Up to now there is nothing suspicious in the story apart from the fact that she feels someone is watching her. It starts to get interesting when she goes out for her birthday with her friends and we first hear about her mysterious birthday presents. The change in the story then starts getting quite spooky. The writing is excellent and really whets your appetite for the actual story. Cannot wait for the first book, this is going to be thrilling and deliciously dark.

Excellent prequel of "Heartbreaker", very well written, which in a few chapters, presents the main characters and immersed me in the rather gloomy atmosphere of Celeste, a student in criminology who is interested through her studies, to a serial killer called "Heartbreaker".
Celeste had a difficult childhood with an alcoholic mother who is now at the end of her life with a cirrhosis of the liver in the hospital. During a class, she discovers that she could apply to be an FBI intern for 6 months if she is the best and perhaps participate in the "Heartbreaker" investigation. But something is wrong with her and when she moves, she always feels like she is being watched, but she never sees anyone.

This is a prequel to the "Hearbreaker" series to come. This book is sure to capture your interest on what's to come. I just love a good mystery and now am anxiously awaiting the next books to come. Introduced as main characters are Alex and Celeste. You are left with wanting to know more. Celeste has peaked your interest. This book is Intense, with dark twists to keep you on edge and wanting more. I couldn't stop reading it. I received an ARC copy and voluntarily am leaving this reviww. I highly recommend it.

“Every time, the hairs on the back of my neck rose, my pulse doubled, and my insides would feel like I’d swallowed a gutful of miniature sharks. Now was no different. I felt eyes on me, drinking me in, watching my every movement, and I swore I could even hear footsteps somewhere behind me.”

Shivers up my spine as the anticipation grew. Isolated by tragedy, an adult way before her time due to circumstances. Celeste was burning the candle at both ends, studying, working multiple jobs and sitting with her mother. She’s craving something she’s not prepared to say out loud. However, he’s patiently been watching and waiting for the right time to show her what she’s missing out on.

Oh my, considering this is a prequel I cannot wait to actually get my hands on the series when it starts. Here we meet Celeste who is in college studying criminology and wants to join the FBI after graduating and Alex, who has a fascination for her and has known her for a long time bugs her home, There is a serial killer called the Heartbreaker on the loose and Celeste is obsessed by the case. But what else does it have to do with her. Gripping stuff

This books has all the makings of a great thriller. My only disappointment was the age of its female lead. A twenty year old Celeste doesn’t really carry a lot of validity to a character. Then there were all the stumbling blocks that this author added..maybe too many. I really am sick and tired of dying relatives used as a story trope. This is a new author for me but i’m Not sure if I would continue this series.

Celeste craves to find the “It” factor in a guy. Just doesn’t know what it is.
Alex is watching. Always watching. And Celeste knows that is better to stay away from this man so misterious.
Stay tunned to find out what is coming in the new series The Heartbreaker by Stella Hart and prepare yourself to give your trust and heart to someone who is reading to take what is his.

This is the prequel to the thrilling serial killer Heartbreaker series written under the pen name of one of my favorite authors Alessandra Hart. In this short prequel we meet Celeste, who is studying to become a forensic criminologist and has always had a fascination with the dark side. She knows something is out there watching her and she doesn't remember why...yet. But it is starting to come back to her. And HE can't wait until it does...I read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

In the beginning I felt a little bored about Celeste's life but when her criminology guest lecturer started and intro of Alex piqued my interest. Celeste is a wonderful girl, ambitious student and a caring daughter, but there is something in her past life that still stalks her, while Alex is the mystery. There are few things I was able to guess (maybe many could have) and now waiting to read more to learn about what's next.

This prequel is just a small, tempting taste of things to come in this series. It introduces readers to Alex and Celeste, the main characters. Being a prequel it is quite short but very intriguing. This book left me to anticipating this intense, dark, suspenseful and steamy series. I think it is going to be so delicious and I'm really looking forward to it. This is my totally honest, voluntary review.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it. It provides promise for the story that is to follow. I felt the beginning did start out a little slow though, which is why I gave four stars instead of five. I am looking forward to reading the next book and seeing what will happen next.

This was a fantastically intriguing glimpse into what's looking like it's going to be a fascinating storyline. Can't wait to see where the storyline goes and see more of the characters.
I really want to read the heartbreaker series now.
This was a short quick read, which was well written, but was enough to give you an idea of what heartbreaker will be and wet your appetite for it. Really loved the character of Celeste.

What an amazing start to a new series. You are going to be on the edge of your seat with anticipation to what’s to come. Alex has been watching Celeste for years, she saw something a while back and doesn’t realize the significance of what she saw. She’s obsessed with the Heaetbreaker case and doesn’t understand the pull but she will soon find out. Loved this book and can’t sit for the rest of the series. It’s gripping, suspenseful and a little danger thrown in, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the prequel to the Heartbreaker series. It's a short tease of Celeste's life and her first encounter with Alex. You get a glimpse into Celeste's world, meet her friends, listen to local events on the radio, and meet Alex. He's handsome, smart, and creepy. This taste of Alex is not enough! I need to know what's happening & what he's doing. Great teaser for this new dark romance series.

Prequel to the upcoming series - and it’s kicks it off in just the right way- leaving you intrigued and slightly on edge !

At the start we get an insight of Celeste’s current life - her feelings - what she’s studying etc and then finished off with a chapter in Alex POV leaves you with so many questions and the need to know more b

Look forward to this series - I have a feeling we’re going to be reading a lot of this anxiously !

Stalker on the loose!

Ok, this a very short prequel so it got me hook, hopefully it won't disappoint. It a story of a single female leaving alone and going to school and about a stalker that want to harm her but it waiting for the right moment. He put cameras all over her house and watched her every move. It seems they have met before. Also the story mentions a serial killer in the loose so it might be him. It sound thrilling😲
