Deception . . . Dishonor . . . Treason . . . When American covert operative Chase Fulton finds himself aboard a luxury mega-yacht off the Florida Keys with a dead Russian billionaire on deck and the beautiful SVR officer he loves standing over the body with a bloody knife in her hands, he believes his life could never become more complicated. But he is wrong. A vow to a mentor and beloved friend sends him on a tumultuous quest through the criminal underworld of South Florida to rescue an innocent young woman who represents not only Chase’s painful past, but also may be his only hope for psychological survival in the future. After suffering the agony of loss and ultimate betrayal, Chase learns that loyalty is a veil behind which deception, dishonor, and treason often lurk.
Creator of The Chase Fulton Novels series and The Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins Series, Cap Daniels is a former sailing charter captain, scuba and sailing instructor, pilot, Air Force veteran, and civil servant of the U.S. Department of Defense. Raised far from the ocean in rural East Tennessee, his early infatuation with salt water was sparked by the fascinating, and sometimes true, sea stories told by his father, a retired Navy chief petty officer. Those stories of adventure on the high seas sent Cap in search of adventure of his own, which eventually landed him on Florida’s Gulf Coast where he and his wife Melissa spend as much time as possible on, in, and under the waters of the Emerald Coast.
With a headful of larger-than-life characters and their thrilling exploits, Cap pours his love of adventure and passion for the ocean onto the pages of his action adventure series, The Chase Fulton Novels and his new series Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins.
Inspired by the likes of John D. Macdonald’s Travis McGee, Randy Wayne White’s Doc Ford, and Wayne Stinnett’s Jesse McDermitt, Cap creates thrilling tales of action and adventure set throughout the Caribbean and coastal Florida and Georgia by intertwining nautical adventure with international espionage. Cap’s Chase Fulton Novels series promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats, trying to guess what new danger or adventure lies just around the corner.
The Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins series is a spin-off starring the most controversial and intriguing character from the Chase Fulton Novels. After defecting to the United States, Anastasia "Anya" Burinkova, a former Russian SVR assassin and intelligence operative puts her lethal skill set into action against the powerful Russian Mafia. In this gritty, organized-crime thriller series, Cap Daniels takes his readers into the dark underworld of the Russian Mafia weaving actual events into fiction to leave the reader's heart pounding and their fingers itching to turn the page.

Not usually my "type" of book, but MY GOODNESS Cap Daniels takes you away, better than Calgon! LOL! The first book The Opening Chase was an edge of your seat fun ride. The Broken Chase is a great addition to this series. Love the intrigue, suspense, boat rides and all the other action. It is NECESSARY to read the first book, first!!! Otherwise, you will lose a lot of history. As the book ended, we know there will be a third book, not necessary a cliff hanger, but you just know there is more to come. Cap Daniels, for such a young author, you write as though you have been doing it for years. Thanks for such a good read.
With this second book release, the story continues. The characters remain plus we meet more. More adventure on the high seas and on dry land. We learn more about Chase's mentor and coach while he solves a problem and attempts a rescue. After a major upheaval and heartbreak in Chase's personal life, Cap has perfectly set up the segue to book 3. (You busy writing, Dan?)
This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review.
Cap Daniels is a master storyteller! From the first page I knew I was hooked. I think I felt every emotion there is: joy, love for family, fear, sorrow, remorse, gratitude for friends & their help & even despair. Can an assassin be lovable? You bet! If you're looking for a book that will involve you in every page choose Opening Chase then Broken Chase!
Not the type book I’d normally reach for, espionage, spies and multiple killings not something I’d ordinarily be interested in, but I was hooked from the first chapter of “Opening Chase”. Characters are believable, lovable or hated, but they will grab you by the throat! Exceptionally good writing, loved it.
HARDLY TIME TO BREATHE WITH THIS THRILLING ADVENTURE
Boats of all sizes and descriptions, outwitting Russian agents, torture, kidnapping, beautiful women, hunky men, good food, good booze, food malfunctions, .....what’s NOT to like?
Book Review - In Cap Daniel’s “The Broken Chase,” protagonist Chase Fulton’s vow to a mentor and beloved friend sends him on a tumultuous quest through the criminal underworld of South Florida only to rescue an innocent young woman who represents not only Chase’s painful past, but also may be his only hope for psychological survival in the future. Cap Daniel’s knack for spinning a tale full of intrigue and action, with a sense of humor only makes the reader want to read the next book in the series, but unfortunately, not with this one. Book two, The Broken Chase of the Chase Fulton series really didn’t ‘thrill’ me as much as others have in the series. Although Cap Daniels throws a number of curveballs for the ‘twist and turn’ aspect of the story, The Broken Chase was slow on the build up, and light on the execution of ‘action.’ Overall it was a decent read but not as thrilling as I had hope. All throughout the story it felt too much like it was ‘Chase Fulton against the world’ and of course the hero comes out on top at the end, but there was nothing special in differentiating it from other decent adventure thriller novels. The second book in any series is always the hardest. Expectations are high from the success of book one and book two is always expected to be just as good, if not better. However, The Broken Chase suffered the ‘literary sophomore curse’ in my opinion. I enjoyed the first book in the series but again, the second one was just okay. It really didn’t move me to rush out and get book three. I thought the beginning of this story was like a rollercoaster climb - slowly building up the excitement until you get to the top then a huge rush as you finish the ride/read. Nope, not with this one. The slow build only resulted in a series of events and scenes that never rose to the level of excitement like other Cap Daniels novels. I like the Chase Fulton character and will continue the series with the hope that some of the later novels are much more improved than book two. Not a bad read but not a great one either…
Book 2, The Broken Chase, was a fun read, with lots of action. It continues the story from where book 1 left off. Chase is still chasing demons, is getting to know Ana, the former Russian assassin, who has turned cover to help the Americans. Lots of twists and turns. Some of the action is close to unreasonable, but it's all good. Chase and Ana go on an adventure to rescue the daughter of close friends and a very close friend to Chase himself. He makes some bad decisions and barely manages to escape. Reading the Broken Chase is fun and exciting.
I almost quit reading this book...until I reminded myself that Chase is a newbie to the spy game. I was getting a bit tired of him getting his ass kicked repeatedly and bouncing back like nothing hurt him. I toughed it out and I guess I am glad I did...as I did go ahead and purchase the next installment of this series. I am truly hoping he begins to stop making dumb decisions by listening to his first instincts and begins to out think his targets in the next book.
WOW , talk about a great plot twisting , dangerous adventure the main characters are getting themselves into !! I am off to get the next book , have to see where this is going !
Great chase on the ocean. I enjoyed the development of his characters. The plot twists and turns keep you turning pages into the night. I lost sleep over these first two books. I’m easy for the next!
Really enjoyed this second in the series. Great action and story moves at a good pace. Found myself sitting and reading for a lot longer than I should have. Will enjoy this series a great deal if it keeps this good a read
Always several twists and turns! A new character (or 2), a reconnect with old friends, lots of bad guys and blood spilled, just what you'd expect from Cap Daniels' Chase Fulton. But also, a VERY large reveal.
A good action novel . I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Cap Daniels has a writing style that makes for interesting and enjoyable reading.
The adventures of Chase Fulton continues. From University of Georgia’s baseball coach and wife to bringing back their kidnaped daughter the excitement never slows down. Watch out for the ending.
There is no way not to continue reading this series. The writing is flawless the story unpredictable and fascinating at every turn of the pages. A must read.
Thriller, chilling mind games, surprised and sadness all while reading you will feel. I highly recommend this suspense series. I am anxious to start next book!
Another one that I could not put down. Chase Fulton is still with the love of his life, Anya, who was also a Russian spy. Now they are in the open waters, with Chase's best friend, Dr. Richter (who is Anya's father). Sounds complicated, but it all fits together in a wonderful story of intrigue, murder, mystery, love, everything rolled into one.
Don't want to give too much away, as this novel just keeps you turning pages to find out what is happening next. This time, though, Chase and Anya are going to help a friend whose daughter has disappeared or been kidnapped. Chase vows to find her and bring her home, as Elizabeth is like a sister to him. Anya agrees to go along. They find themselves in the criminal world of Florida. This time Chase may lose his life to save a friend.
I know I'm hooked now. Cap Daniels knows how to keep you in the story. There's not too much action in this book, but the way Daniels writes the story, it flows around the action, and you don't miss it. Don't get me wrong, there is action to keep you going.
I read quite a few different authors who write similar theme books. I just recently learned of the Chase Fulton books and I'm looking forward to all the other books. It's going to take me a while to catch up. His writing style is easy to read unlike some of the other authors. I like the other authors, but the stories seem heavy. I'm not saying Daniels stories are lightweight but are easier to digest.
Enjoy Cap Daniel's writing style, and particularly appreciate what appears to be in-depth knowledge of the boating world. His communication of what it is like to be at sea, plus the detailed nautical information, feeds my love for meaningful detail. Strong characters. Perhaps not completely believable, but close............ The fact is that a world-leading assassin is not likely to gain that status and the accompanying skills without much more training than young Chase Fulton received............but we can all suspend a certain amount of reality to enjoy a good story. Looking forward to working through the rest of the "episodes".
