In the second half of this Hawkeye revenge story, we finally flash back to what happened to the Avengers and how they were betrayed by the Thunderbolts. Then it's nonstop action as Hawkeye hunts down the rest of the Thunderbolts. Marco Checctto's art is still amaze-balls. Why isn't he on Marvel's top books yet?

Fast moving ride with action in abundance coupled with a satisfactory plot that has plenty of cool reveals.

45 years ago Clint Barton was betrayed by Baron Zemo and the rest of the thunderbolts. In the middle of Vegas Hawkeye led his team of Avengers into a routine battle royale. Only this one ended with the entire team eradicated as it stands few heroes remain the Red Skull, and various super villains now rule the world.

After the confrontation.

Zemo: this is my victory. And no you don't get to go into shock. I earned this moment.

Hawkeye: Just kill me now and get it over with.

Zemo: kill you? Now why on earth would I do that? We killed off all the real heroes.

Now for those that are familiar with Old Man Logan this is a good volume to add depth to this alternate universe. The tone and themes are similar. So if OML worked for you there will be plenty to enjoy here.

Volume 2 picks up with the Hawkeyes finally reunited after all these years Clint's eyesight is continuing to fail him. There are still 3 thunderbolts to cross off his kill list. And Bullseye is still on a side quest to take out Earths last remaining Avenger.

I could really go for a volume 3, and where vol 2 ends it seems quite open ended to begin a fresh start. Ethan Sacks first run for marvel has been great would be willing to see what else he can get up to.

This was another solid one as we follow Clint on his journey with Kate. We finally see what happened all those years ago and where it went wrong with the Avengers and their fall and its a haunting chapter but so well done, just shows you the emotional complexity here.

In other areas Bullseye takes on Winter Soldier then makes his way to find Barton as he is with Songbird and its an emotional issue too and like one of the best. Forgiveness and Redemption and another encounter with Moonstone and that was a terrifying one with what she became and just shows the length this world has made them.

And the final face off with Baron Zemo and Bullseye and its a big pay off as we see Clint maybe completing his missions and its so well done like the art particularly and you can see some epic scenes showing his last mission may have been a success but at a big cost and the question is..was it worth it? And it presents various themes and there are hints that it could be continued but regardless its an awesome volume and is one of the best Hawkeye stories and just shows you emotional turmoil and chance at vengeance with great artwork and team ups and cameos! A must read for Hawkeye fans.

I really enjoy these old men stories, mainly because I love seeing the heroes and villians aged and with unique "where are they now" stories (O.K. the fights are bad ass too). I feel like the writers also get a lot more wiggle room to play with the character and their stories.

The book opens up to a flashback to when the heroes died (in battleword). It is an awesome battle and huge betrayal from a new people I wont spoil. So Hawkeye is on a mission to take down Baron Zemo...because he was one of the main parts to the downfall of all the heroes. So both hawkeyes are now on the trail on Zemo. Lots of bad ass fights with Moonstone, Songbird, Absorbing man, Bullseye, Avalance, etc... The art could be better, I really wish Mcniven was on board but he cant do everthing I suppose. Still a rad run of 12 issues, i loved it.

Old man Hawkeye ends like it began, just a okay book.

It's not the art sucks, or Ethan Sacks is a bad writer, it's that the story was never going to do much "new" or 'exciting". Basically this is Hawkeye trying to finish up the rest of the tunderbolts who betrayed him and his team back in the day. That part is actually pretty exciting to see all the old avengers/tunderbolts get beaten. The way Thor dies is kind of stupid IMO since he's been through a lot worse but it worked for the shock level. The ending is also decent, having Kate do some badass shit.

But overall this is just an extension to Old Man logan and even ends close to when that begins. So everything you EXPECTED to happen...happens. Nothing too exciting but not horrible. Just decent. A 2.5 out of 5.

This volume starts of with a flashback of the fateful moment when the Thunderbolts turned on Clint and his team members were killed. Pretty brutal. Then we jump to the current where old man Hawkeye and old woman Hawkeye are still moving thru the wasteland with Clint still looking for the remaining Thunderbolts and Zemo to kill them. Meanwhile, Bullseye is still on their trail while Red Skull has sent someone after Bullseye. Real cat and mouse game going on in this volume. The end kinda veers towards how the original OML started which was pretty cool. That last page tho?!?! Dope!! Overall, this was a nice maxi series.

I love this series. I love this world. Keep ‘em coming.
I’m skipping all over the Marvel universe. So, I find it a little funny I’m putting future Wolverine, Hawkeye, Hulk, Redskull, Bullseye, and aged superheroes and villains so high up in my “Must read Right Now” category.
Quirky, I guess.

3.5/5 (for this volume)

Overall, this is an excellent mini-series. The Mad Max atmosphere was great for a revenge story like this, it was interesting to see where the characters we know ended up in this particular future. I wasn't a fan of all sub-plots – some felt a bit forced and unnecessary – but overall I was engaged in the story all the time. Checchetto's art was a treat, as always, and worked really well with the setting. And I gotta admit, the very last page made me want to scream – I loved that little plot twist at the end!

Old Man Logan was a fantastic series and this was a brilliant spin-off prequel that was better than it had any right to be. It wove an awesome story set in the world of the original events of Old Man Logan and played out in action packed issues, one after another and filled with incredible artwork and over the top action. This was a satisfying conclusion, but will leave you hungry for more. I think Marvel will quell that with Old Man Quill and I am anticipating it.

3.5 Stars.
The saga of Old Man Hawkeye continues! Seeking revenge on Baron Zemo for the Thunderbolts betrayal and murder of the Avengers, Clint continues his partnership with Kate Bishop, even as his eyesight is deteriorating. Seeking out Songbird, then Moonstone, Clint seeks info on where Zemo is, even while being trailed by Bullseye. In the end, Clint gets his revenge on Zemo, but realizes he needs to continue being a hero.
This prequel to Old Man Logan was not as great as the original, but was nice to see yet another angle of how the world moved towards what we know as "The Wastelands." Having already finished OMLogan and OMQuill, I wonder if Marvel will be publishing anything else on this timeline.
Recommend. A fun ride.

This picks up right where volume one leaves off, but takes a short reprieve to explain the backstory of this world and how Hawkeye was double crossed. The action is fast-paced, the story is interesting, but sometimes hard to follow, and the art is awesome. There are a few more cool, brief, little cameos, and a really cool surprise at the end. I haven’t read Old Man Logan yet, so I don’t actually know if it’s a surprise or not, since that came out first, but it’s a surprise to me. This series does make me want to read it though, so mission accomplished Marvel!

I liked Old Man Hawkeye. As I write this, I think that it did have some flaws and I should have liked it less, but despite the analysis I am left feeling that it was pretty good.

I liked the Red Skull dominated dystopian future and I thought the art and the dialogue were good throughout. There is a lot missing from the backstory, but this is just two volumes, so I'm willing to cut it some slack on that account.

There are some big holes in the plot. Like, why in a world with super soldier serum, adamantium skeletons, and giant sentinel robots, is Hawkeye's glaucoma an unsolvable problem? We can treat that right now with a little marijuana.

It was still fun.

Did you hear the one about the archer who was deaf and going blind?

This volume gives us a glimpse of the actual fall of the heroes. Hawkeye knows who's responsible and he's going to make them pay. He even picks up some help. Go Team Hawkeyes! Kate Bishop is still alive in this bleak future and running a sanctuary.

Meanwhile, Bullseye is still tracking 'the last super hero' down..

It's only a matter of time before someone falls, good or bad.

I really enjoyed this series. I really enjoyed how they handled the characters. It still had a bit of prequelitis; it over-explained some things that didn't need an explanation, and watered down one of the better Hawkeye scenes from the original Old Man Logan.

Still, I enjoyed it and I'm glad to have read it.

A top notch finish to this inventive and kickass journey through the wasteland. We get to see how the world went pear-shaped, and how all manner of folks get messed up in this trigger happy tomb. It’s all done with aplomb and great art, either some occasional humour to stop it from getting too grim.

A really well-handled prequel story overall. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The story is repetitive and relies, at times, too heavily on characters I've never heard of before. Even Kate Bishop couldn't save it for me.

The Whole World Blind is a perfectly adequate, action-packed follow-up to Old Man Hawkeye Vol. 1, though it lacks that first volume's interesting exploration of the Wasteland world. Instead, we're treated to non-stop fight scenes as Old Man Hawkeye and Old Woman Kate Bishop face off against several Thunderbolts and the seemingly unstoppable Old Man Bullseye.

As with the first volume, the intentions of the characters are unclear, aside from Hawkeye generically wanting revenge. Twists and surprises are pretty limited in The Whole World Blind, and it feels like the dialogue has taken a turn for the worse. Thankfully, Marco Checchetto's art continues to be A+. While Hawkeye's story seems to have largely concluded, the last page does hint at an interesting avenue of exploration in a potential future volume.

Well, that was a little disappointing. After a promising first half with an interesting look at the moral decisions various characters made, the back half is more or less a standard supehero adventure. Hawkeye wants revenge against the Thunderbolts, but the more morally conflicted ones are more or less gone by the time the second half starts. It just wasn't as good as the first half.

Really good conclusion to the story. Plenty of twists and turns and not a disappointment. The after credits scene was awesome as well. I personally would like to see more series set in the "Old Man Logan" universe as the post apocalyptic setting has a lot of potential.

I thought this book was the stuff good nightmares are made of. So I have to say that I am upset that I finished. I haven't yet read Old Man Logan, though, so maybe there's hope yet. This sequel and end starts off with 45 years ago in Vegas where one of the Avengers' teams is betrayed by the Thunderbolts under the direction of Zemo. It was heart-wrenching to see my heroes slaughtered in front of me, but Nat's death was the worst. I don't know if that's because Hawkeye was most hung up on her death, or if I'm still just feeling the effects of Endgame. Either way, I am emotionally wrecked. This AU is gritty, but it tugs on every heart string you possess at the same time. I'm glad that Clint got the avenging he was looking for. With all the Thunderbolts dead, Zemo dead, and even Avalanche and Bullseye dead, Clint has done a good thing before his glaucoma's completely set in. Watching Clint Barton slowly go blind was painful, too, though. He's still got some skills, but they can't be put to good use without Kate. I honestly just want to thank Kate. Clint never would have gotten this far without her. She saved him from quite a few scrapes, and she's probably the reason he was able to take out so many horrid people. If there was one good one, it was Melissa, though. She took a vow of silence, tried to reconcile with God, and never forgave herself for what happened that day 45 years ago, especially with Sam. I hope she's found peace now. I hope that Kate can go back to the orphans and protect them the way she has Clint on this journey. The last bit of the book showed a year later, but I pray that the super soldier serum has not found its way into the wrong hands. After all that work...it would make a hellhole of a world only more devastating and bleak than it already is. And now that Clint has found Sensei Stick, who knows what's in store? I recommend this book to those far too attached to their heroes.

I've changed my mind about the coolest character in this story - it's Bullseye. He is intelligent, suave, skilled and determined to get that one last kill like in the good ol' days. He is the splitting image of a Southern gentleman which might not be true to form for the classic character. It is a dystopian universe, though, so things change.

Hawkeye teams up with a reluctant Kate Bishop for the next step in his mission - to kill Baron Zemo. His target planned the betrayal of the Avengers decades before. Bullseye is still on his tracks, but he has his own hurdles. Winter Soldier is a force to behold, but Bullseye is just too skilled.

I'm amazed Ethan Sacks was able to pull this much out of that Old Man Logan story. Some of it falls apart, with substories amounting to not much of anything, but it's fun. Seeing a going-blind Hawkeye go up against Bullseye, who happens to have a history fighting blind superheroes, is fun. Seeing Old Lady Kate is neat, too. Characters who might not have been as big when the original series came out so have been left untouched and are prime for new stories. I think what works best is that we know more or less how this series is going to end, but it's finding the way there that's unexpected. Thunderbolts, Weapon X, all these leftover characters that have so much room for nuance. Does it succeed at everything? No, but it's not frustrating. It's solid!

My biggest complaint is that Marco Checchetto dips out for the final two issues. Francesco Mobili is a good artist who does some great work, including some beautiful action scenes. But it's a maxi-series! You're really replacing the artist for the finale? Boo. It's not like issue #7, with guest artist Ibraim Roberson, who does the flashback to the big superhero war. A guest artist makes it apparent what is current and old, and gives a change in tone that works well for the series. But nope, Checchetto leaves right as the series is ending and it's frustrating.

Also the flashback itself is some terrible Avengers Vs. X-Men level of stupid match-ups and ass-pulls to make everything work the way it's supposed to, but at least Clint's story makes more sense than Logan's.

This volume resonated with me a lot more than the first.

The first served to set up the premise of the world, already established in Old Man Logan, and introduce us to the quintessential western revenge plot. The introduction of Kate Bishop in this volume in a far more prominent role, Clint's inability to follow through on some of what he promised, Winter Soldier, Bullseye, Red Skull, and Taskmaster... not to mention the surprise appearance at the very end of a much loved figure.

This volume moved quickly. It was exciting, and I truly felt the relationship between Clint and Kate in all the best ways. Bullseye was deliciously crazy, and the plan to follow had the proper stakes stacked against our heroes in a major way.

Ultimately, I'm very sad that it's unlikely we'll ever see a Logan style version of this on the big screen. It has enormous potential and deserves to be made.
