Lisa Daniels

Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it.

In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since.

The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.

Loved this set of books. So exciting, suspenseful, surprising, emotional and so much more. Very well written. The stories and characters blend well. I hated to see it end as I enjoyed it so much. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.

I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Ice Blood : A new exciting world, it is awesome. Don't know how the “Ice Blood”came about but they are something else. Even a cold heart can have compassion. But can justice be served? I like it a lot. I would like to see more of this “Ice Blood”. Are they a mutation of dragons or a different evolution to keep dragons in check? Hope the next book tells more about them.
Forge Blood : Awesome story. I can't read fast enough. I need to read faster to help them and pray to. The author makes you feel like you are part of the story. You get angry with them or for them. It is such an excellent story. I love it. This is the second in the series and they keep getting better.
Green Blood : This story is sad so sad. A woman abused and forced to have a child from a very bad man. She finally got away and thought she and her child was safe. No they were not. It is a good story and shows a progression of time with a town under siege on the brink of war. Excellent story.
Stone Blood : Well that is very nice. To find out that Servalan has a whole family that she had not idea of. A whole community of stonebloods and they wanted to help her with helping the ones that she was helping. Awesome story and I know you will like it also.
Bree's Dragon – OOO!! That was nice. Short but exciting and in a way fun. Defiantly different in that I have not read about sorceress that can do what she can. I loved it.
Kerensa's Dragon – I like Heath. He is something, so sweet, genital, protective. This story makes me laugh. Assumptions about what is seen or thought what was seen. I loved it.
Noely's Dragon – I love the way these Dragons find there mate and just takes if from there. Quick and clean, but they let there mates catch up to them before they take possession. I really like this story.
Annora's Dragon – I liked it. Annora is a woman after my own heart. One who can take care of herself and others too. I like the way her mind works. Never about a woman's lot or how a woman is treated. Just about not taking anything from anyone else. I like her a lot. Excellent story.
Kain's Rescue: Book 1 - To be someone to stand in front of a great enmity. To not have someone to call your own. To have someone, friend, family, anyone to call your own. That is what you fight for to protect and cherish. You need someone or something like that. What better than to have a mate.
Linther's Rescue: Book 2 – These stories get better and better. I love them. A lot of excitement and danger. Protecting the living and trying to survive for the next fight.
Vrin's Rescue: Book 3 - Even with the unknown we still strive to NOT “Give in”. It is a different kind of strength, Will Power if you like to stay strong and vigilant against evil.
Erlandur's Rescue: Book 4 – Faith a strong warrior, a witch, skill unmatched in battle. The woman
not seen. Erlandur sees a woman, beautiful, strong, caring a woman in need. Surprises and shocks galore what next.
Nox's Rescue: Book 5 – Each book takes you further in to a plan to get rid of the Shadows. The more knowledge they acquire the better to know how to win. Echo has a good gut to listen to. Now to get more on their side.
Loras's Rescue: Book 6 – An unexpected army and not much longer until the war begins. A crazy story, and scary. With war and preparing for war there is a lot of danger. People grow close when these things happen and fast too.
Malek's Rescue: Book 7 – The final battle and at the end hope. Hope that they will take back what has been lost over the years. To make a difference to the children to come to have a future.
Found by the Dragon
Seon's Freedom: Book 2 - OOO!!! This story is something else. It has a lot of implications. I don't know if their will be another to clear it up or not. I do hope there will be. Very good story and I hope to see more.
Deep River Shifters
Mordred – That was cute. Like a fairy tale. I did like it thought. It's sweet that Kiara has a hard time quieting her mind. It can be hard to do at times.
Rescued by Silas: Book 3 – Aha!! That is so cute. I was hoping Silas or Alaric would be next. Yeah, it was Silas. He is so sweet and thoughtful, talks a mile a min. but still sweet. Some scary times for Naomi but I thought she held up very well. Very good story. I loved it along with the rest of the series. I hope to see Alaric next, can't think of what kind of person he will get.
Rescued by Emery: Book 2 – That was very good. I do think that when you have people that are so close, even living in the same house. That they don't know everything about you, that to me is strange. The story is well done. There is a lot of excitement and danger. Very good.
Callie's Guardian: White Tigers of Brigantia Book 1 That was awesome, I loved it. I liked the way the author gave us a little back ground for Callie. It was a anchor, then all the crazy things started. The excitement and being scared while escaping. The precognitive dreams Callie had saved them I believe. A really good story. I hope there will be more. I would love to see what happens in the new land.

This box set contains the complete collection of Steam Dragon Shifters books: Ice Blood, Forge Blood, Green Blood, and Stone Blood. Enjoy the romance, magic, and best of all – the amazing dragons! Below are reviews from the first two books in this set.

>>> Reviewing “ICE BLOOD - BOOK 1)” <<<
Mia pushed through the door of an old inn and warmth hit her face. Voices inside told her to shut the door! She walked to the bar and paid for dinner, a room, and a drink. Mia was a dragon slayer, hoping to hear some information that would help her in her search. When a stranger walked in, her senses reacted. He introduced himself as Zaine. He noticed the sapphire on the end of her staff – a magician’s staff – used by the kind of people who hunted dragons.

Zaine offered to direct Mia to the lair of a dragon he knew was terrorizing the Iron Reach eastern factories! The innkeeper made a strangled sound. But Zaine knew the other dragon was burning farms and killing people, and that would only bring ultimate destruction to Zaine’s own people. Mia sensed something about this stranger who was different from other humans, but she didn’t know exactly what. She got up and left to start hunting for the dragon’s lair.

Zaine secretly watched Mia enter a cave across the way. He heard the dragon roar and saw the “iceblood” slide out of the entrance as if she were indeed sliding on ice, her staff’s sapphire glowing. The dragon hit her with its flames, but she was unaffected! A blue charge left her staff and the dragon was killed. He had to turn away and leave as she began to cut off the 5 horns of the dragon that her current boss, Gorchev, a ruthless factory owner controlling most of the coal and oil industries, would sell on the black market.

Mia met Zaine at the Steamcog to discuss working for him. He told her what he needed was for her to spy on Gorchev – her current employer! -- and get documentation of his imports and exports… and she might have to deal with a dragon or two as well. She wasn’t so sure that part could be true though since Gorchev apparently hated dragons. Where would this new direction take her? And what would she do when she found out her new boss was a dragon!!

>>> Reviewing “FORGE BLOOD - BOOK 2)” <<<
Helga Greene worked at the forge on her newest project. She lovingly worked the metal on the anvil, this time remembering to protect her arms and face. Her parents wanted her to leave this work for men and be feminine instead of having muscles that didn’t look good in women’s clothes. They ignored her dream of having her own blacksmith shop.

That night, Helga’s mother told her that they had found her a husband! Helga’s only job would be keeping house and making babies. And the man knew how to use force to keep his woman in line! To sweeten the deal, her mother had given them Helga’s blacksmith shop and everything she had created in it. All her work was being carted away, and when she tried to stop them, they beat her and broke her ribs while her weak father stood there.

Prince Zaine had sent Quentin to find the amazing blacksmith who had fashioned an exquisite necklace for his “iceblood” partner, Mia. Quentin followed her scent to the workshop where he found the injured Helga and took her to the hospital to treat the broken ribs. Helga woke to find a woman, a magician healer, fixing the broken bones and her damaged lung.

When the Star Rose gem was stolen, Zaine knew it had to be his enemy, Gorchev. To fight the gem’s magic, Helga designed a powerful metal and wood magician’s staff using prismatic gems. Her love and affection infused the staff and gave it a special edge to help Mia protect Zaine. Helga’s inner fire burned, taking her skill higher than ever. She refused to stop work to rest, though Quentin checked on her. The staff had to be able to stand against the Star Rose, largest gem in the world. With Zaine trying to negotiate peace, would war still erupt? Would Gorchev ever be thwarted, or would he keep coming after them until everything was destroyed?

The stories in this collection will grab the reader right from the start. Betrayal is one of the leading themes throughout. But balancing that is the theme of honor, love, affection, loyalty. The stories are fast-paced and pull in the reader’s emotions – definitely worth reading!

Beware of spoilers!!!
Ice blood: I really like this book, a special brand of magician specific to hunting dragons, the icebloods, the dragons they hunt, and a steampunk world? Sing me up! Mia has to learn to thread through greys once she finds out there is nothing 100% good or evil, and Zaine opens her eyes to how humanity is not a trait exclusive to humans, and humans can be just as monstruous as dragons. I need more books in this world, with more magicians, more dragons, and maybe some steam engineers/scientists too!!
Forge blood: So good to meet new characters and review old ones. Helga is an amazingly strong woman defying her family to achieve her dreams, good thing she has friends that encourage those dreams and support her. Quentin too has to defy his family, after realizing how wrong they were, he now has to prove himself at every turn lest be blamed as traitor. Also present are Zaine's brother, a new person with magic and a baby dragon.
Green blood: Here we learn more about Yarrow and her rare healing magic that comes with a dark side. Sworn to only do good after experiencing both sides of being a magical and rare green blood and witnessing the destruction of her home and society, Yarrow tries to live a quiet life as a night healer, until Helga comes calling for her to help her with her dragon friends, throwing her back in the middle of everything she fought so hard to stay hidden from. Meanwhile Mauro, Zaine's brother, has trouble controlling his anger and dealing with the fact that by chance his bafoon brother is set to be king and Zaine did so well amongst humans. Yarrow and Mauro form quite the pair, in a opposites attract sort of way, while Zaine and Mia were cut from the same cloth and Helga and Quentin were both out to prove themselves, Mauro and Yarrow need balance, and they do that for each other, roughening Yarrow's edges while softening Mauro's corners. Storywise we have a nice development and understand more of the enemy's strategy and ideas, closely connected to magic and how to obtain it as well as the dislike of dragons. Plus Mia's mother.
Stone blood: Servalan, after being raised aways from her people as an assassin and used only for her magic abilities, she has a bit of difficulty believing she fits in with all the other couples after the lonely and grim existence she led under the rocks, but with them she finds not only a new family, but her blood family too, in a village where dragons and humans still live unbothered. Theron as the last White Dragon shifter has been hiding his identity while in captivity, with his desire to be as far from anything war related as possible he teams up with Servalan to take her to mountains to look for better gems for all their magical friends. The traitor among them is finally found, and killed, after dropping Servalan to her death, or almost, due to her good timing of merging herself with the stone bellow, and scaring Theron. As with Yarrow and Mauro, Theron and Servalan balance each other, his more pacific side showing Servalan not everything is black and white.
In a final showdown Yarrow, using the dark side of her magic wounds Mia's mother, but is she dead? Is is the end? I think not. Our heroes will have time to rest and bebuild the Iron City and Calcite, and strengthen the Dragon-human alliance. Prepared they must be for the enemy is not dead.

The boxset comes with several more stories which I'm still reading and are all engaging and as far as I read (life why must you give me so little reading time) connected. All very well written with different aspects to be highlighted.

This is a great series with fantastic world building (almost cyberpunk world). I really enjoyed it.
Iceblood- Mia is a woman that nobody expects. She is a strong magic user and a dragon slayer since her ice gift is perfect for killing dragons. Her boss is a shady mad who can be downright evil but Mia has no choice but to work for him. Zaine is a hybrid dragon prince who is working to better relations between dragons and humans. He know he should stay away from Mia since she could easily be the death of him but he can't resist her. He hires her to do some investigating for him in her free time. He figures that it is best to have anyone strong enough to kill him to be working for him. Mia is happy for the extra money until her investigation changes her view of the world. Then her regular boss orders her to kill Zaine.
Forgeblood: Helga is a human woman who enjoys working as a blacksmith and jewelry maker. She is a master at her work which attracts the attention of the hybrid dragons and magic users. However her mother believes Helga should be the traditional wife and mother and arranges a marriage for Helga. Helga's mother and fiancee will not take no for an answer. Quentin is Zaine's assistant. He is a hybrid dragon whose family opposes Zaine's and is anti-human. Dragon culture holds the children responsible for the crimes of his family so he is trying to pay for his family's offenses. Zaine assigns him to guard Helga. Quentin is torn because he is attracted to Helga but dragons like him are not permitted to have mates.
Greenblood: Greenblood magic users are thought to be extinct after the Hinterlands were destroyed but Yarrow is a refugee who is hiding her magic. Greenblood were famous for their healing skills and and there are rumors about another hidden skill. Yarrow was kept prisoner and forced to be a breeder until she and her son escaped to the Iron City. She just wants to live in peace but her skills are to valuable to be left alone. Mauro is an older brother to Zaine and is known for his fighting skills. He is charged with taking care of Yarrow and her son. Somehow he has to convince her that sometimes fighting is necessary.
Stoneblood: Servalan is a stoneblood magic user who can control the earth. She was taken away from her father at a young age to work for an evil mine owner. He taught her that violence and revenge are the best way to get results. Later Zaine buys her from her master to work for him. Servalan skills are amazing but she is ruthless. Then she starts working with Theron a rare and peaceful white dragon. Now her past ruthless ways start to haunt her
Theron didn't used to believe that violence was ever necessary but after being captured and seeing the evil in the world his convictions are shaky. At first he didn't like Servalan and her ruthless ways but as he watched her more and more, he starts to see the good in her. Can two total opposites ever get together?

Mia is a dragon slayer and is given direction where a dragon who is causing problems is located by Zaine. When she survives Zaine lets her go. Later they come back together when Mia learns her boss is doing bad things to dragons. With her help, Zaine and many other dragons manage to rescue the captured dragons who are being held while having unspeakable things happen to them. Then along comes a woman named Helga, who is a female blacksmith. She learned her trade from an old man/dragon who taught her well. When her mother literally sells her to another blacksmith for profit another dragon, Quinton, comes to her rescue. Then so much happens that almost leads to death for Mia and Zaine. Then Mia finds out her mother is a part of the enemy. Then a greenblood or healer is discoverd. Yarrow tries to avoid war and death. Unfortunately she isn't given a choice when a traitor within the ranks is thought to exist.

Lisa Daniels is a master of paranormal storytelling [my favourites being the bear shifters] and this collection of four dragon shifters and their mates is a fabulous example of her work. The books include :-

Ice Blood

Gorge Blood

Green Blood

Stone Blood

One of the many things that I love about Lisa's writing is that she includes references or glimpses of characters from previous stories so we get to see how they are carrying on in their own HEAs.  I was slightly disappointed that the conclusion was rather a let down as there wasn't really a defining ending - although all four dragons got their fated mates and their own HEAs.  Well written with amazing characters and interesting storylines that will keep you form wanting to put the book down.   All four are real page turners and leave me wanting her next story to be ready for me to read now [but I'm happy to wait as the result is always great]. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

4 fantastic stories put into a boxset by Lisa Daniels.
Book 1 Ice Blood: mia’s and Zaine’s story
Book 2 Forge Blood: Helga’s and Quintin’s story
Book 3 Green Blood: Yarrow’s and Mauro’s story
Book 4 Stone Blood: Servalan’s and Theron’s story.
4 strong women who tame their men and I love a sassy and stubborn heroine and these stories definitely have them. I think my favourite out of all of them is book 2 Forge Blood. Helga works in a forge as a blacksmith she’s very muscular and hard working and she loves her job but her family believe that a woman should be at home looking after the place and having babies and also doing what the husband tells them to do, ( yeah right! ). They were all fantastic stories and I really enjoyed reading them all, a great collection I loved these stories and I know you will too. A 5 plus ⭐️ collection and I highly recommend this collection they are definitely well worth the read.

Having read Forge Blood previously, reading this collection helped reset the scene correctly for the occurrences in Forge Blood (a part of this collection) and then complete the current situation in the 4 books. The first, Ice Blood, is Zaine and Mia's story and sets up the whole Dragon, Hybrid and human scene from the start. There is, of course, a lot of back story that needs to be filled in and I hope in due time, or books I have not yet read, this will be! The four books cover a lot of ground between the types of human magical abilities and dragons, both traditional and hybrid shifters. The stories themselves cover the preparations for the coming war and the romantic liaisons between the pairs!.
A series well worth reading and I thank Lisa for them!

I read a lot of dragon books and these books are very different from others. The story is unique, as are the characters and their world. There are three factions on the verge of war: Traditionals (pure dragon), Hybrids (smaller and can shift from dragon to human) and humans. The books cover four hybrid dragons working to prevent a war and their magical mates. There are different types of magic and each book highlights one. These are such very, very good books. I loved them all, but my favorite was Green Blood, book 3. Mauro is the type of H I like the most. So serious and dangerous, until they meet their mate. This was a seriously good collection. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

MORE STARS NEEDED, OMG, OMG, OMG, …….. I LOVE THESE SHIFTER STORIES. There is nothing more exciting for me to read then the way in which these men love and protect their mates even if they need to spank them on occasion.
These stories are just so good that it is very difficult for me to put into words just what I love most about them the only way you can understand how I feel reading these books is to GRAB them and dive right in to read them but be warned …….steam is not just part of the title the emotion and passion will make you steam too !!!!!!

A glorious collection of dragon romance novels with enough pull to keep you hooked through the entirety of the box set. This is an intriguing mix of fantasy and steampunk, with romance and intrigue woven throughout. The characters have enough fault and ego to make them realistic and the background world is detailed enough to pull you deep inside another world.

Anyone interested in something away from the usual fantasy romance, something not of the norm, but no less enticing and interesting because of the differences, should definitely read this collection. Wonderfully creative and intensely addictive.

This is a four story box set about dragons. Every story is well written and intersects characters from other books in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone but works better read in order. The characters from each story are well developed and relatable. The four male dragons are Alpha males. The female characters have various magical skills that they need to help the dragons fight evil. The chemistry between the characters is steamy and the scenes are hot. The plot is filled with danger, drama and love. I would recommend this box set.

best value ever

Enough reading for even the most dedicated bibliophile. A really well written series of dragon shifter books with each linking into the other to make a whole story Each book tells the tale of a different pair of characters with so many differing strengths and weaknesses and each compliments the others as the tension builds and an entire world opens to your imagination . If you are looking for a book that will last you all summer long this may well be the one for you

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I received an ARC from Booksprout. I actually liked the 4 stories about dragons. But I HATE Hate to finish the stories and am only at 24 %!!! this has 2051 pages and includes 15 bonus stories!! What the heck...At least they are all written by Ms. Daniels. So beware. Okay rant over. If you like paranormal romance these quick reads are worth a visit. I was a little confused at first as I had no knowledge about the world. I rated this a 3 mainly because of the excess bonus stories.

This is a fantastic collection! Loved that we not only get the four main stories about Dragons but we also get 16 bonus stories. Well written stories, great characters and an amazing world of magic and dragons. So far I've only read the four main stories but I will be adding the rest of the stories in this collection to my summer reading list. This is a new to me author and I will definitely be looking for more books by her in the future. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

More than a few

I really enjoyed this entire collection of stories. Some were books I had alreafy read but more than half were totally new. Steam Dragon Shifters was an exciting set of new shifter romances that I sped through reading because it was new and the whole reason I bought the collection. If you enjoy PNR with neat world building, likeable characters and a guaranteed happy ever after their collection is definitely one to add to your library.

Steam Dragons is the complete set of Ice Blood, Forge Blood, Green Blood and Stone Blood by author Lisa Daniels. This is a unique look into the world of dragon shifters - dragons(Trads) human with unique powers such as magicians and ice bloods. Each story is connected with each other in some way. So you’ll be meeting new characters and revisiting with others. There’s some spicy moments yet it’s mostly a story of courage and chances.
Enjoy!!

This is such a wonderful collection of stories about dragon shifters. There is tension between humans and dragons. Some may have a connection which these wont break. This has four great stories. Follow their adventures

This box set contains the whole collection of the Steam Dragon Shifters. There is great magic, romance, alpha males, sexy women and the fact the shifters are dragons makes it even better. I love that this book transports you into a different world and makes for a great after work escape.

Each of these stories are great reads! The world building is amazing and the characters multi-dimensional. While each is a stand alone they are enriched by being read together. The women are so strong, talented and each with something to hide. All with happy endings!

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. There is a lot more in this book then I thought there would be. I love dragons and the women that love them. I found this an easy to read and the flow was very good. When I decided to read this I did not know there was going to be so much other content in beside the four books.

Hunters, wars, destroyed civilizations and enslaved species hide the greater plot of a woman's vengeance.
This collection of shifter romance is rife with self-discovery and acceptance, there are also situations in which the characters must face to gain happiness and a sense of peace.
