One man. Five women. Ten thousand alien invaders. Alien rifts are opening throughout Earth's uninhabited zone. The rogue AI Bokerov is stepping up his guerrilla assaults. And Jason is still trying to come to terms with his unexpected new role as the commander of a battle harem. He was just a geek who decided to have his mind scanned, only to wake up inside a war machine in the middle of the uninhabited zone. Technically, he's what is known as a Mind a human mind trapped in the body of a machine. But thanks to a virtual reality simulation running within his AI core, sometimes he even feels human. He has joined forces with five Mind Refurb women. They're hot as sin in Virtual Reality and deadly as hell in the real world. Definitely not the kind of girls he would ordinarily mess with. And now he's their commander. All of the women bring their own unique abilities to the table. Together, they have the potential to be unstoppable. If only they didn't have that pesky thing called human emotions to hamper them. Jealousy, competitiveness, and inner demons have a way of messing up an otherwise well-oiled machine. War is afoot. The aliens are flooding into Jason's territory. Bokerov is testing his defenses. Jason knows it's only a matter of time until a full-blown attack comes, and he has the team working 24/7 to fortify their base. The question will it be enough? And more importantly, will Jason be able to shut down their humanity long enough to get the team members to fight as the cold, lethal machines they were meant to be? This book contains bloodthirsty aliens, robot angst, violence, swearing, and a harem full of beautiful machine women.
Isaac Hooke is the best-selling author of the Ethan Galaal series of thriller novels, as well as the SF-themed ATLAS trilogy. When Isaac isn't writing, publishing, and blogging, he's busy cycling and taking pictures in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He has a degree in Engineering Physics.
Welp... Jason decides to help the invading aliens against the humans, who cannot survive on the future terraformed Earth. Even if the third book somehow reverses this, it’s not worth it. Maybe Jason was infected with Bokerov, but frankly, I don’t care - this was just wacky, nonsense.
The book was also otherwise skippable, with lots of cat fights, little to no integrity in the heroes, and many boring descriptions of battle damage to the ballistic shields.
Loss of one star for the lousy end, another one for the wishy-washy integrity of the main characters, and the final third one for the constant cat fights.
The second book in the new series with a twist from author Isaac Hooke. Hooke’s writing is again, a little more adult in nature but everything that made you love his writing before is present in this new series. He's changed it up again and this time he's dealing with an AI. After the main character needs cash and sells his mind scan to get some creds the AI ends up on a war-torn earth with 3 female AIs.
As usual Isaac Hooks continues with The Battle Harm series, Jason and the other female mech are still battling biomechs and then meet their nemesis Bokerov and the action begins. Good reading in my opinion.
You and your cliffhangers. I really enjoy how you make us love your characters. They always have to think about the consequences of their actions. You keep the story moving and the action exciting. I will now start chapter 3.
This book the 2 of the Harem series was very enjoyable to read, and much better than the first, I can't wait to start the 3rd, so I'm cutting this short, and off to book 3, I highly recommend this Harem series
