After a heavy read, I wanted to dive into something lighthearted and fun. Crystal Bliss by Devi Brown was a great transition. I purchased the physical book because the cover is gorgeous and I plan to pair it up as decor with my crystals. Devi Brown was featured on a podcast that I love called Therapy for Black Girls. I was attracted to her energy, vibrancy and the opportunities that she took to plug her book in a lighthearted manner. I follow her social media platforms and find her delightful.
I’m more spiritual then religious and I carry a bit of pessimism regarding everything with me at all times. I like crystals and think that they are fine for meditation, calming and work wonderfully with affirmations. I don’t support using crystals in place of traditional medicine or therapy. I appreciate that Devi Brown relays information about crystals in a responsible manner.
This book is more of an introduction to beginners describing various crystals, their origins and benefits. There is also information regarding caring for your crystals.
I think this is a decent read and if you’re mildly interested go for it!
While not as eye roll inducing as it’s predecessor, it still left a lot to be desired. While simply written I still felt disconnected from the author. It’s the perfect book for a quick reference but didn’t have a lot of specific information.
Keeping in mind the book on crystals I did thoroughly enjoy was Scott Cunningham’s book.
After reading an ARC of the author's upcoming book I had to get this book to begin enhancing my daily practices. Its simple and gives the best guidance for beginners. I listened with kindle assisted reader which allowed me to pause and look up the crystals she was recommending. There are no items in stock on her website so it will take a bit more effort to get started. With so many options I am glad I have the blueprint I been asking the universe for. I definitely recommend it.
Very beautiful book. Not as long, as the author chooses a handful of core crystals to talk about, but the time and text she spends on each stone is competent and in-depth. Which is a good point: in the huge world of crystal use, it helps to have a few go-to, core, all-around crystals to use for main intents and learn the most about them. I find this idea solid and useful.
Really nice crystal book, with tons of info in a very easy-to-digest format. I only wish they had photos on every page instead of a big photo section in the middle. But a very helpful crystal book overall. It's not the biggest crystal book, but a very nice one regardless.
This is a beautiful book with amazing details !!! I actually also bought a hard copy of this book too. The pictures are amazing in the real book. This kindle was handy for me to read everything. Definitely a good book for an upcoming zen goddess.
