Heather Graham was born on March 15, 1953 and grew up in Dade County, Florida, and attended the University of South Florida at Tampa, majoring in theater arts and touring Europe and parts of Asia and Africa as part of her studies. In addition to being a New York Times bestselling author, Heather has received numerous awards for her novels, including over 20 trade awards from magazines such as Romantic Times and Affaire de Coeur, bestseller awards from B. Dalton, Waldenbooks, and BookRak, and several Reviewers' Choice and People's Choice awards.

She has been published across the world in more than 15 languages and has published over 70 titles, including anthologies and short stories.

Now, she had five children. Somehow, this prolific author manages to juggle it all - family, career, and marriage - while reaching a level of success to which few can aspire.

Ended up skimming to finish.

Heroine sleeps with hero due to a mutual misunderstanding and gets pregnant. They marry for the sake of the baby but she has a miscarriage and ends up married to the hero even there is no baby.

The hero is kind, supportive, understanding, handsome. The heroine is as difficult and nasty toward him as possible. She demeans the hero, flirts with other men, constantly complains, and puts herself in jeopardy by disobeying his orders.

When the hero wants to have sex, she tells him to stop, while at the same time pulling him closer and egging him on. This is dangerously close to supporting the myth that encourages date rape: that women say no but they really mean yes. I cannot believe people write this stuff without any thought to the moral issues involved.

The reason for the heroine's nastiness toward the heroine is that she sees how wonderful he is and is afraid of falling in love with him. There is no explanation as to why this would be a bad thing - surely, if one is stuck with a husband, it is a good thing to be in love with him, considering he is good and kind and prepared to love her in return?

I dislike romances where the whole conflict is driven by the unreasonable behaviour of the heroine who just wants to be awkward without any rational motive to drive her behaviour.

SERIE NO OTHER vol. 3

Second time reading.
I loved both characters immensely.

______
The plot was very interesting. The writing was impeccable. The words just flew melodiously.
The characters - at first - were very likable and I couldn't wait to fall helplessly in love with them.
However, after a short while, I was beginning to learn that the heroine - Sabrina - had very annoying attributes.
Yes, I liked that she was very, very beautiful and pretty.
However, she was flighty and very timid (I understood that she lived a privileged life all her life therefore she was very doubtful she could live in the wild with the Hero, Sloan).
Not only that, she was lacking in grit, confidence and courage. She kept going back on her promise and marriage vow ... threatening a few times she would renege on her pledge saying stuff like marriage annulment (whereas they had consummated their marriage! Many, many times!).
But then! (As if a light switch had been switched on.) It dawned on me that that had been the author's scheme all along ... making the readers became annoyed with the heroine. Sabrina was merely being true to her character - a pampered princess who was forced to live as an army wife. She was afraid that Sloan had been forced to marry her and she did not want to burden him. (That's why she was adamant in asking him to annul the marriage).
Regarding living as the army wife; she failed miserably at first.
She also tried very hard to push the Hero away - fearing she'd lose her heart to him.
Sloan, on the other hand, seemed like a very patient man. He's not only a military man, he's half Indian, too. So you could use your creativity to imagine how tall, tan, handsome and strong he was.
Later on, you'd see the angst between the couple (and how delightful it was); each not wanting to put their hearts on their sleeves - secretly falling in love with each other.

This was a brilliant read. I absolutely loved it. Bravo, S.L.

Yeah no.

I know that this is a historical romance but the amount of sa and r*pe in this book is insane. The romance build up did not make sense to me whatsoever and both the characters were unbearable. My mind kept blacking out whenever there was anything war related, I couldn’t care less about anything that was going on.
The writing was the thing that kept me reading tbh.

This was a great ending for the series....Loved the story and the characters were awesome together. It was full of everything I look for in a book---humor, love and great heat between the characters.

The final book of a three book series. It takes place back in the Dakotas, at the time leading up to & including the Battle of the Bighorn. This is another amazing story, filled w/historical fact, and again, I couldn't put it down...have accomplished NOTHING around the house since I started reading this series!! I have set the series out so my husband can read it. Once again, I highly recommend this book, and this series to anyone who loves Historical Romance, and especially Native American stories!!!
