This book was not at all what I was expecting, but for what it was it was good. In some ways a bit of a contradiction.

Board book was it's format. It was not small like a board book, but that's what all of the pages were. On each page there was a mix of text boxes and life the flap elements. The front of the flap had a question on, for example "Why is the Black Sea Black?" then you lifted the flap and learned the answer. In the text boxes were just simple facts about various things, such as the deepest part of the ocean the longest jellyfish and why lionfish are brightly colored.

The text was in really small paragraphs, no more than two sentences, but again in contradiction, it was in no way simple like a board book. Words like echolocation were used, so it was geared toward upper elementary school students.

An interesting, entertaining book.
