Pandas and penguins are two of my favorite critters, and I rarely pass by a book cover featuring either. Both! And I went sofa shopping, too. Black and white and saturated colors! This book couldn't be more me if it actually had my name on it.

I am going to go request everything Fifi Kuo has ever done, right now.

Simply brilliant illustrations tell the story of a panda and penguin searching for the perfect sofa. Laugh out loud at their antics trying different types and sizes of sofas with your child. Very quick read for those nights you want them to go to bed quickly and in a good mood.

I love Panda and Penguin shopping for a new couch, it really is an experience and I want to say they had a good time even if the perfect couch was already at home.

I have mixed feelings on this book. For one thing, it is EXCELLENT for early learning. It reminds me of Goldilocks and Three Bears....except we have Panda and Penguin in search of just the right couch. (Reminds me of my husband and I shopping for furniture but I digress ;)) The simple and straight forward text make it an excellent choice for beginning readers.

However, I wanted to love the illustrations more than I did. I found the way both Panda and Penguin were depicted distracting =( The couches were great though! And the end also felt confusing. I get repurposing the couch you have (like the slipcovers I put on mine!) but we felt like we got to that point with NO foreshadowing. It irked me. I would ask readers right beforehand what would THEY do if they couldn't find the proper couch?

What a cute and colourful picture book this is. Full of some lovely, bright and cheerful images – this book is the story of when Panda and Penguin decide their old sofa is broken and they should go shopping for a new one.

Panda and Penguin – who are clearly lovely, fun friends – go to lots of different shops and try sitting on tiny, huge, soft and squishy sofas in order to find their new one. They spend a long time looking and we’re treated to their mini-adventure told in some quirky and comedic illustrations, and the ending has a lovely little message (which I won’t spoil).

A fun picture book with lots of good repetition for building a love of talking for your young one!

Có nhiều hôm sáng mẹ đọc 3 lần, trưa bà đọc 5 lần, tối mẹ đọc 4 lần nữa mới chịu đi ngủ. Giờ mà mỗi tối bảo đọc sách thì nhất định sẽ lấy cuốn “Sofa” ra đầu tiên, mình mà giả vờ lấy cuốn khác đọc thì cậu ấy sẽ úp dí “Sofa” vào tay mình bằng được.
Một câu chuyện đáng yêu kể về chuyến đi tìm kiếm chiếc sofa hoàn hảo của Gấu trúc và Cánh cụt. Hình vẽ dễ thương cực kỳ, màu sắc tươi tắn chắc chắn các bé thích mê. Lại còn là sách song ngữ nữa nên rất tiện cho các bé học tiếng anh.
