Emma awoke in a broken Earth, but now rules over much of one restored. The restoration of the planet has left old nations broken and scattered and allowed those hungry for power to rise up. New advances will offer Emma all new ways to abuse her power, and deadly foes pose the temptation to do just that.
This is a good book in a great series, but I find myself missing the dungeon core part of it with its stats and growth choices and the Science! But the story is good and the pacing is much better than in the first books. I like the fact that the scale goes up every book and it's clear that the author has a much better idea of where he is going with the series as a whole than in the first books.
If you want an extremely good read, look here! It's just so fun to dive into this world. The characters seem shallow at first, however there is a hidden depth to them that is revealed over time. I really enjoy this series, the only issue I might have is the books are always so short. Read this!
DNF. That's as far as I could make it I cared less and less about the characters as the story progressed. I picked out the next book with a little less joy each time. I promised myself that I would quit when I felt done. That finally happened here. This book is no worse than any other a maybe a touch better than some, but the whole series just got so repetitive.
I love the book but there is so much politics and not enough SCIENCE! There needs to be a part where she does a whole Ton of... You guessed it SCIENCE!!!! (Evil laugh)
More of the same snark! Emma is growing as a character, slowly but growing. Bigger bads. Plot twists. And surprises. Still some small typos and needed edits , but overall an excellent read. Fast paced. Attention grabbing. Captivating. Enjoy.
