Wordy Birdy sure likes to talk. When I am feeling energized and good, I can really be chatty with myself. This is what I sound like. I’ve been so deficient with school that I am much less chatty now.

Wordy Birdy goes camping with friends and she is driving them crazy with her chatting all day long. She ends up saving their lives and they begin to love her for that.

This is short and sweet with some funny characters. The nephew loved this book and he got into it. He wants to have a bonfire in the backyard now. He can really talk too. He gave this 4 chatty stars. The niece thought this was cute and she giggled at the story. She said it was good and she gave this 3 stars.

Wordy Birdy goes camping with her friends, but she won't stop talking when her exasperated friends want to sleep. When a cougar visits their camp site, Wordy Birdy talks their way out of becoming a cougar snack. Colorful illustrations add personality to all the characters, and a wide range of facial expressions complement the text. Interesting mix of narration and speech bubbles.

Wordy Birdy is aptly named. Not only does her name rhyme with many words she never seems to be at a loss for something to say... and say... and say. And that gets to be a little wearying after an entire of non-stop talking. But there is a twist to this story, or as rabbit points out, "Now, THAT was a surprise ending!"
This is laugh out loud funny and the art work displays the facial expressions so well. Definitely giving this to my chatty grandson and his more quiet brother.

I like the first Wordy Birdy book better than this one. The funniest part of this book is the name Mr. Cougarpants.

Wordy Birdy is going on a camping trip with her friends. Of course she talks NON-STOP until everyone begs her to go to sleep already. Luckily for them though, Wordy Birdy spots a cougar who is about to have a quiet little dinner. She launches into a litany of why each of her friends should not be eaten and the cougar sulks away. All the way home, she chatters and continues a constant stream of consiousness... and none of her friends mind at all.

This book is slightly annoying. Even my storytime kids said so. Wordy Birdy DOES talk a lot. And you just really want him to shut up.

IN this story, Wordy Birdy is on a camping trip with friends. (And annoying them of course). However, his talking does come in handy when a cougar comes upon the Wordy Birdy, Racoon, Squirrel, and Rabbit.

Still though......this book is just.......I don't even have many words.

I was not a fan of the first book. Wordy Birdy just reminded me too much of people who talk too much and can't pick out social cues on when to be quiet, which really annoys me. I didn't find it fun to read about a fictional character who was similar. Spoiler alert, Wordy Birdy hasn't really changed in this follow up story. It's a meh for me.

Just okay - I liked the original story better. The illustrations and the side commentary from Wordy Birdy's friends are the best parts. The encounter with Mr. Cougarpants was short and anticlimactic. I expected more. Will not purchase.

Liked the story in this one more so than Wordy Birdy. The illustrations of Mr. Cougarpants are funny.

“Wordy Birdy is a little chatty. A LITTLE chatty? Seriously?!”

Wordy Birdy and her friends decide to go camping. And, as usual, Wordy Birdy talks nonstop all along the way. Her friends are used to it, through. Even when they are ready for bed, she just keeps talking. But her friends are very happy when she confronts Mr. Cougerpants, who has come for a nice quiet dinner. “Did she just call me Mr. Cougerpants?”

Very funny illustrations and a fun, energetic main characters will make this a fun read aloud.

This is a fantastic picture book. Tammy Sauer's clever story makes young readers laugh, and the dialogue is filled with an excellent vocabulary list for word acquisition. And Dave Mottram's illustrations are superb. I strongly recommend this book for anyone learning to read, and anyone who who wants to teach a young reader. This is a recommendation from a former teacher of reading... 31 years worth.

Only kind of liked this one, but then I immediately recommended it and handed it to a mother who was proud of her "overactive" child who had been lately getting better at enjoying storytimes at home and in school. It's a perfect book for reconsidering the slight annoyances of maybe-a-bit-too-energetic friends and family.

A super cute book, which I give extra coolness points to because the authors were willing to waive copyright and let our city use this one in one of our parks alongside a trail, showing kids the pages one by one as an incentive to finish the hike.

Worked for our kids, and I thought it was an awesome idea.

Wordy Birdy won't let her friends get a word in edgewise. But when she meets Mr. Cougarpants, her loquacious nature ends up being a benefit.

This led to a fun discussion about when to talk, when to listen, and why we shouldn't be wordy birdies. It may just be part of our classroom vocabulary for the rest of this year. Don't be a wordy birdy when it's time to work.

I read this book after seeing the title. I recognize myself in Wordy Birdyt=. I thought the book would be a fun and entertaining read; and so it was! Always good to be able to laugh at one's own foibles. The book is good for teaching kids that the people who love you, do so often both in spite and because of those little personality quirks. Thanks for illustrating that so well in your book.

We LOVED Wordy Birdy Meets Mr. Cougarpants! Wordy Birdy reminded me so much of my niece, she talks nonstop, just like Ki. The story is hilarious, and even though Wordy Birdy’s friends sometimes get frustrated, they wouldn’t want her any other way, just like us with Ki. The illustrations are fun, and the book celebrates friendship, quirks, and individuality in such a joyful, relatable way.

The kids loved this book! It was full circle we started the year with the first one and ended with this one. The message is that weakness can be beneficial. Our friends can annoy us, but we can agree to disagree. A super fun book!

There are some silly moments in this book that my preschooler loved, but it was a bit challenging to read aloud dialogue coming from multiple characters and we wondered why Mr. Cougarpants played such a limited role.

Wordy Birdy was a very talkative bird who never stopped talking, which causes some eye rolls and irritation from her friends. But on a camping trip this quirky attribute of hers helps fend off a hungry cougar from eating her and her friends!

Cartoony, fun illustrations

I do love wordy birdy and this was a cute book. There were however a few times that I thought that I had missed a page or two. My kids also said the same thing. I do like this book and I would recommend Wordy Birdy to other people.

Wordy Birdy is a very, very wordy bird. She talks too much all the time. When she and her friends Rabbit, Raccoon, and Squirrel go camping, Wordy Birdy keeps talking well into the night. Approached by a cougar whom she calls Mr. Cougarpants, Wordy Birdy tries to keep him from eating them. Fun story with a cute ending and gorgeous illustrations.
