Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone romance novels featuring fiercely loyal heroes and sassy, empowered women. They're fun, flirty, flawed, and easy to relate to.

In Sweet Love at Bayside…
As the co-owner of Bayside Resorts, Rick Savage has a fabulous job working with his best friends and brother, and a thriving business in Washington, DC, which he'll be returning to at the end of the summer. Spending time with his family is great, but being back on Cape Cod has unearthed painful memories. When sweet, smart, and overly cautious Desiree Cleary moves in next door, Rick is drawn to the sexy preschool teacher, and she just might prove to be the perfect distraction.

Running an art gallery was not in preschool teacher Desiree Cleary's plans, but after being tricked into coming to her impetuous, unreliable mother's aid, she's stuck spending the summer with the rebellious half sister she barely knows and a misbehaving dog. If that's not frustrating enough, she can't escape the sparks igniting with her strikingly handsome and pushy neighbor, Rick, who makes all her warning bells go off.

Passion ignites as Desiree and Rick spend long summer nights sharing heartfelt confessions and steamy kisses. For the first time in years Rick is enjoying life again instead of hiding behind mounds of work miles away from his family. Desiree has touched him in a way that makes him want to slow down. Only slowing down means dealing with his demons, and he isn't sure who he'll be when he comes out the other side.

Sweet Love at Bayside is a Sweet with Heat novel and conveys all of the passion you'd expect to find between two people in love without any graphic scenes or harsh language. If you're looking for a spicier romance, pick up the steamy edition, Bayside Desires, written by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. Addison Cole is Melissa's sweet-romance pen name.

Desiree has spent her life with seriously mixed feelings about her mother, and receiving word that she needed to come to the Cape to save her mother's life was her last straw. Desiree drops everything to rush to her mother's aid, and winds up stuck running her mother's gallery and overseeing construction for the summer.

Rick is a workaholic who has taken a break to work at his family's resort for a short time, when his life is constantly disrupted by a dog in the resort pool. As he searches for the owner he bumps into Desiree again, and they soon begin an amazing relationship.

But it can only be a summer romance, since both Desiree and Rick have to go back to work. Can they make it work?

This book is lovely and romantic and made me laugh! Even though Desiree's mother is flighty and sometimes hurtful her antics (and the antics of Cosmos the dog) were hilarious!

I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

This was my favorite Addison Cole book so far! I say that with every new book, but this surpassed all my expectations. I love the insta-love between Rick and Desiree. Rick was the perfect Hero for me, he knew what he wanted and never wavered. I love that Rick was able to help Desiree become more comfortable within herself. Such a beautiful love story that I never wanted to end!

The road to fulfillment is not always the one we plan for ourselves. Hearts break, life changes and wiser heads prevail, but we can take pride in the fact that our choices, though not always right, brought us to where we were meant to be. Sweet Love at Bayside is one couple's road map to finding home. Rick and Desiree are both capable people with strong opinions, but their lives have sort of stalled when it comes to happiness. He's building a business. She's losing herself in responsibilities that are not completely her own. Can two people with so much love to give, make time to find something special together? Cole makes the complicated simple with an overflow of wisdom and heart. Realism does not always have to be complicated to find rewarding.

No offense to this book at all. I think I have been reading a lot of classics lately and so any contemporary book I have been picking up, the language feels stilted and weird? Does this happen to anybody else?

Sweet Love at Bayside by Addison Cole When Desiree turns up at Bayside worried about her mother little did she think she would have no need to worry let alone fall in love and up-root her life. Summoned to Bayside under false pretences, Desiree’s mother led her to believe that she was at deaths door but instead she just needs her and her sister violet to come look after her house/studio whilst she goes goes off to “find herself”

When Rick Savage first meets Desiree there is no denying the instant attraction between them, but both of them know that they are only in the Cape for the summer, so they make it a fling to remember. I really loved how Rick brought out the naughty side to Desiree and loved watching her grow from this innocent school teacher to vixen. Can they make it more than a summer fling to remember and make it a lifetime of romance?

Desiree is sweet, beautiful, and somewhat reserved when the novel begins, but as she begins re-connecting with her half-sister Violet, the reader slowly sees a more carefree and adventurous side of Desiree. Rick also seems somewhat serious at the beginning, as well as, steal dealing with the trauma of losing his father during a sailing accident years earlier. However, Rick also has a fun and flirty side which only seems to grow throughout the novel.

My favorite thing about Sweet Love at Bayside was the rekindling of the relationship between Desiree and Violet. Yes, I realize it should be all about the romance with Rick and Desiree, but I loved watching these two grow closer and slowly open up about their regrets about their relationship between each other, as well as, with their mother.

Both Rick and Desiree reached each other in different ways, but their growing relationship sparked a new outlook on life for each of them, as well as, prompting them both to consider major life changes in order to find happiness. The beauty of it all was that their choices were not only because of the feelings that developed between them but because of an overall desire for a better life.

I cannot recommend this series enough to fans of sweet, sexy, contemporary romance. If you are already a fan of Addison Cole, then I assure you that this first novel in this series will completely hook you. For those that haven’t read Addison Cole yet, you are missing out on amazing, meaningful, and heartfelt storylines that are completely addictive, make your heart burst with joy, and just leave you feeling good. Kudos to this outstanding author for bringing readers another incredible series.

I read this and the second book in the wrong order! It actually didn’t matter. This is one of my all time favourites from Addison Cole.
Desiree is tricked into visiting her mother. I felt such fury at Lizza for being such an unreliable mother to her daughters and could really identify with Des’ need for order and plans.
I was really hoping for the relationship between Desiree and her sister to become stronger despite the pain of their childhood separation (I won’t reveal if it does…)
Then we have the romance. It started straight away and there was no angst just the beautiful development of love. They knew they were meant to be together. Both of them had family sadness: Desiree because of her mother’s personality and Rick because his father died.
I really loved this book. The romance was just perfect and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling

Sweet Love at Bayside by Addison Cole is a fun, flirty, sweet romance with a touch of heart. Well crafted, easy to read, a bit predictable but totally worth the time to read. A fun beach read with great  but flawed characters, who are feisty, flirty, fiercely loyal and an interesting and entertaining small  beach town romance, set in Cape Cod.  Loved everything about SWEET LOVE BAYSIDE. The author did an amazing job of convening the characters and the story to her readers. A must read beach romance.

Addison Cole is the sweet side of the Melissa Foster.
I have been reading her books for years and I am always surprised by her stories and how the characters are so well constructed and are so three dimensional.
Here we have a kind of spin off of the Seaside series and now we get to meet the Bayside characters family, they are the Savage family and their friends.
Rick Savage is an interesting character, he is sensitive and has a heart of gold, but the death of his father has influenced the adult he is now. Desiree is an extremely sweet girl who has an absent mother and a "crazy" and "over the top" sister. These two together are like a chocolate marshmallow sundae in the afternoon: too good to be true.
You will love this series.

Rick is taking a break from his workaholic life and keeps running into the lovely Desiree. Their attraction is undeniably adorable and I loved watching their story unfold. I mean who knew coming home would help them both find love. Addison Cole does an amazing job of making you feel like part of the story. In this love story, you feel like you're a bystander watching these two have the best fling of the summer.

If this is book one, I can't wait for the rest of this series! Addison Cole is definitely my top favorite author and I can't wait to see where she takes this series!

In this story we meet Rick and Desire who right off the bat you I knew were meant for each other. I have always been a fan of stories where fate works it magic to bring a couple together. Fate definitely brings these two together in an great way. Desiree is a great woman who has had to deal with an absent mother and a super fun sister. Rick Savage is a sensitive man with a big heart, but his father’s death has definitely influenced the adult he is now. I couldn’t put this book down from the start. This book had me laughing and wanting more with every page.

This was the Nook Serial Read for February 2022. What I like about the serial reads is that they often push me out of my book comfort zone to read books I may not have otherwise come across. As the title declares, this is a very sweet book. It is a fast moving HEA romance with no bad language and romantic scenes that fade to black without going into detail. Again, not my usual read. But I can see the benefit of taking a break from the drama and angst-filled series I typically read where the couples face all sort of seemingly insurmountable challenges with cliffhangers twisted enough to drive you mad. This was a good choice for Valentine's month, and I was happy with how this ended.

I am completely unfamiliar with the Cape area yet I feel that I have visited many times and know it like the back of my hand! Addison's writing opens up the imagination and lets you sink into the every day life with the characters. This time around, we get to experience Desiree and Rick. Both characters face their own difficulties regarding family, careers, personal/romantic lives yet somehow, they are drawn to each other. Desiree’s mother is quite the character, indeed! She is manipulative yet flighty and comes across as a very selfish, childish woman. However, through that personality and choice of actions, her daughters are brought together and form a strong bond. Honestly, I think that was my favorite piece of the story – even beyond Rick and Desiree’s romance! The heat between the pair will make your heart soar and when the relationship brings everything/one together, you’ll feel comforted that the past is healed.

I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Sweet Love at Bayside is an adorable read. The book caught my attention from the start. The way Desiree and Rick meet is the beginning of a perfect summer romance.

Both characters have a lot on their plate.

Rick owns a company with his two friends. He seems like the person who has it all, but is it enough? His instant spark with Desiree leaves him wanting more.

Desiree receives an unexpected and cryptic message from her mother. Desiree didn't always have the best relationship with her mother, yet she still rushes to her mother's aid.

Her mother is right that some things are meant to be and happen for a reason. Desiree has much to learn about herself, her family, and possibilities for the future.

The story kept my interest, and I can't wait for more.

I received this book as an Advance Reader's Copy. I volunteered to leave a review. All opinions are my own.

While still sweet and romantic, this book did turn up the heat a notch!
I think this is the edgiest so far of Addison Cole's Sweet with Heat series.
How can it be helped? Rick Savage is smoking hot - in looks and personality.
He is romantic and loyal and he has a single - mindedness quality that I have to admire.
Having suffered a tragedy at a young age, he has dedicated his life to doing and being his best.

Desiree Cleary has not had a typical sweet family growing up. Her mother is a free spirit.
While she loves her daughters, she took one, Violet, off with her to traipse around the world, leaving Desiree behind with her father. The sisters only got together for short periods over the years and seem to be nothing alike now that they are grown.
One thing they have in common is that, when called, they come to the aid of their mother.
Although when they discover the truth, they wonder if that was the right decision.
Being together gives them an opportunity to get to know each other.

It gives us an opportunity to get to know more about the extended families of the Bayside community we've grown to cherish from Addison Cole and Melissa Foster. Spending time at the beach is always more fun with this group. A fence climbing, pool hopping dog adds his own special charms.

For Desiree, a preschool teacher, as innocent as her students, this will be a summer of discovery and learning to embrace her own potential. Everyone grows during this book.

Sweet, yet edgy, I enjoyed getting to know more fantastic characters. A great summer read.

In Sweet Love at Bayside, we meet Rick who owns a resort with Drake and Dean. Rick grew up in Bayside but has lived in Washington, DC for years where he has a successful business. Then, there is Desiree. Her mother, a free spirit who did not bring Desiree up but would visit her at her grandmother's house on the Cape in the summers, summons Desiree from Virginia. Desiree thinks her mother must be dying as she says it is a matter of life and death. She arrives only to find her mother is stifled and needs to travel.

The community at Bayside is beautiful and I have a new group of book friends to join every time a new book publishes.

You should join the Bayside friends and pick up a copy of this book. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Sweet Love at Bayside by Addison Cole is a sweet, romantic and very enjoyable read.

I'm really enjoying reading Addison Cole's sweet romance books. She has a special way with her words that brings the plot to life and the characters feel like you've known them all your life.

I loved watching Rick and Desiree relationship develop. They have this insane attraction/chemistry which they both find very hard to resist. I found them both likable, endearing characters with big honest hearts and they totally belonged together.

This is the story of Desiree Cleary who is brought back to the small town of Bayside by her unreliable mother Lizza who she thought was going to die, when she got there her sister Violet had also been called back but they find that instead of their mother dying she has brought them together to look after her art gallery while she goes on some kind of retreat.
Then there is Rick Savage, when he meets up with Desiree, there is so much chemistry you could light fire with them it is that hot and sexy that keeps them from drowning in their own lives, where Rick is trying to build his business up with his partners and Desiree is now tryng to get to know her sister Violet.
This is another great story by Addison Cole and look forward to the next instalment.

SPOILER ALERT: THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS BOOK! At no point in this book were there any surprises. It is a very predictable plot. As a matter of fact the same plot was used in another Nook book of the month, except it was three sisters inheriting a sea side inn, not two. But once again everyone could easily give up their current lives and start running an inn and sex shop without any experience and make money immediately. The characters were visions of physical perfection. I’m sure even when breaking wind it smelled like roses in bloom. Money was never an issue. Take over the mortgage payments? Remodel the inn? No problem. Your Adonis of a boyfriend is also an architect and his equally hunky brother is a landscaper? How fortuitous. The men were overflowing with emotion and, sensitivity.
The book ends after about five pages. And yet there is a series of these books. In book two I’d like to see whatshername gain hundred pounds from the gourmet breakfasts she enjoys making, Rick has an affair with the sister and father’s a child, the Inn is shut down by the IRS for tax evasion but not before a series of guests die under mysterious circumstances. Now that is a story worth reading.

In an Oyster Shell - An intriguing start to a new part of this series with great characters and adorable love stories.

The Sand - I was a little hesitant to start a new series from Addison when I was still attached to the previous series. This series just proves that there is just more to love. There is a great leadoff from the other series. Everything you love about the sweet with heat is just continuing. It's super impressive.

I loved Desiree. She was a straight-laced Preschool teacher who was challenged to come out of her comfort zones. I wouldn't mind sitting in on one of her decadent breakfasts. I love the camaraderie that starts building right away with the other characters.

The romance was hot but sweet. Rick and Desire are a swoon-worthy couple. The cosmic interference that helps them come together just makes the story all the more interesting.

I loved the steamy version of this book by Melissa Foster. The sweet version did not disappoint! Perfect for a sunny summer day, Sweet Love at Bayside will give you butterflies. A preschool teacher and a successful businessman are worlds apart until fate pushes them together, and the sparks start to fly. The weather isn't the only thing heating up as they wrestle with demons past and present, hoping to come together for something that lasts longer than summer vacation. Rick will leave you all smiles, and Desiree's predicament will have you giggling. A must read!

Not my usual genre. It was a serial read on my Nook. Sweet Love at Bayside is soft very soft porn. Addison Cole's heroine, Desiree and her sister Violet are summoned there by their flighty mother. The sisters are opposites. Mom takes off leaving them to run her gift shop ( which includes an adult toy section) and oversee the renovation of their grandmother's inn. Desiree runs into Rick as soon as she gets there. He soaks her with a splash from his jet ski. Both have their demons but they are drawn to each other. The heat builds between them. There is not much surprise here and even the end was guessed at long before. But a fast read.

I absolutely loved this sweet version of Desiree and Rick in Sweet Love at Bayside by Addison Cole. Addison is the sweet timid alter ego of Melissa Foster for those who want a awesome love story without the explicit sex scenes. I’ve read both versions and they are equally amazing and must reads.

Desiree and Rick have the sweetest love story that all girls dream of having one day. Des is a smart, almost innocent preschool teacher who has grown up without her mom who left with her sister when she was young. She has a hard time dealing with the pain her mom left but comes running when she thinks her mom is dying.

Rick is this strong hearted man who is running from his own pain and grief from losing his father in a tragic accident and he has carried the guilt for so long that he must learn to release his guilt and pain to move on.

When the two meet it is love at first site even it is just for the summer or so they think. This is a story not to be missed. I definitely recommend it. Check out the other sweet stories by Addison Cole while you pick up this one. You will be happy you did!

This’ll be a short review. I didn’t like this book. I finished it because I’m still incapable of not finishing books and I was hoping it would get better, but, sadly, it never did. The writing was very repetitive with the same actions and adjectives used frequently. Though it’s billed as a sweet romance, the bulk of the story seemed based around the characters’ desire for each other, which wasn’t that believable and isn't really my thing.

This is entirely my opinion, as this author has written many, many books under all her pen names, so this may just be specific to me and others might feel differently. It just wasn’t for me.

Sweet with heat … I don’t know what else to say.

So Hallmark-y … two city folks meet where they’re summer-ing … and decide to end their stressful(?) lives and settle with each other in their summer spot.

And, of course, the family stresses are slowly but surely resolved … 🥰

Another amazing read by Addison Cole! Rick and Desiree have a chemistry that is there since the two of them meet - purely by chance! The two of them embark on an incredible journey together as they both face ghosts of their pasts; Desiree with her relationship with her mother and sister while Rick deals with the ghost of the death of his father, the two of them grow closer as a couple and realize that it is okay to lean on friends and family.

The possibility of a threat to keep them apart teaches both of them what really matters in life and helps them both work towards their own happily ever after.
