Lily Pond Lane #2

The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane - Summer Secrets: Part Two

Rate this book
Escape to the seaside village of Little Pondale with Part Two of this heart-warming and romantic, four-part serial. Mia Ward was amazed to inherit her great-aunt Matilda’s thatched cottage in the tiny seaside village of Little Pondale – especially as Mia didn’t know she had a great-aunt Matilda. She was even more astonished to discover she’d only inherit the place if she lives there for a year. Now Mia and her friends, Ella and Garrick are embracing village life. Garrick’s also embracing someone in The Frog and Lily, so Mia turns her attention to one or two of her sexy, single neighbours. But great-aunt Matilda remains an enigma and Mia’s still determined to discover who she was. When Mia’s mum, Lori arrives, she’s eager to see what the summer has to offer. There’s the Kite Festival, the Fête, the Frog Hill Run, but what really appeals to Lori, much to Mia’s horror, is the Midsummer Night’s naked bathing in the pond at Frog’s Hollow. As sweltering days surrender to sultry nights, love is definitely in the air. And when an incident means Mia has to face her greatest fear, help arrives from a surprising source. But one thing is clear... someone is trying to make sure Mia doesn’t stay in Little Pondale... What everyone is saying about this “With a beautiful setting, romance and intrigue, this really is a fantastic series. All in all, a book to keep you hooked. 5 Enchanting Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I was so eager to get back to Lily Pondale that I picked this book up immediately after the first in the serial... I would strongly encourage you to read the first book before you start this one... once again the charm and the beauty of this quaint village filled with gorgeous men and quirky characters, made me want to pack my bags and quickly head to the UK.... but then my vacation hopes were dashed when I found out this is a fictional Village??? How disappointing 😞

Mia and gang are back... Love is in the air, however this book Took a bit of a different turn than I was expecting... and now I am hoping it heads in the direction I want it to, but... Mia girl you are so fickle! Along with the Romance we have a dose of mystery.... what is the real story behind Matilda and why are there no pictures of her?

Love all the fun events in the village... the kite festival...the Fete... The Midsummer nude bathing... not too sure about that last one? And I’m still not 100% sure what a Fete is, but every book I read that takes place in a small village in the UK seems to have one and it looks fun?!?!

Cannot wait to get to the third installment in this serial... so much romantic uncertainty and the mystery of Matilda still to be solved... in addition to this the arrival of Mia’s mother has definitely added some color to the story.... and how correct will the fortuneteller be in her predictions???

Absolutely recommend this charming serial... A perfect summer read and each installment can be read in an afternoon spent by the pool☀️

*** many thanks to the author and Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy of this lovely book ***

Favorite Quotes:

I know this is mean but after spending all morning with her I’m beginning to wonder if Hector didn’t throw himself into the path of that car and his death had nothing at all to do with the curse of Frog’s Hollow.

They had tried to get Garrick to join them but he said his singing voice sounded like a rhino being strangled in a mud hole and whilst Mia had no clue as to what sound that would make, it probably wasn’t pleasant, so they’d left him in the pub.

Wait and see if he asks you out. Or go to his bakery and ask to see his buns.

“Well, all I can say is if only I were a few years younger, Alexia Bywater would have serious competition, deary. I was a pretty young thing you know and my body was curvier than hers. Flexible too. I could wrap my legs around my neck, you know, dear. Probably still could if it weren’t for a touch of arthritis.” A rather unpleasant vision of Hettie with her legs wrapped around Garrick’s neck popped into Mia’s head as Garrick choked on his coffee and Ella made a curious sound, almost like a clucking chicken.

He smiled tenderly and Mia was sure a bone in her ribcage must have broken because something had just pierced her heart.

My Review:

I am continuing to groove on this light and fun new series with the second installment ushering in more mysterious elements to the storyline. Mia appears to have stirred up some animus within the quaint little village as ominous tidings began arriving on her doorstep, an activity that is in addition to the residents’ favorite pastimes of gossiping and betting on how long she will last. Mia seems to have become as fickle as a fourteen-year-old middle schooler, although in her defense, there does seem to be a surfeit of handsome single men in one place. The plot lines are thickening as the characters already have been well established, and the humor advances with the arrival of Mia’s feisty mother. Love is in the air but warnings from a fortune-teller may have muddled things a bit. I learned two new phrases to boast about with one to add to my Brit list and the other appearing to be more universal, but I was unfamiliar with the delightful term of “bingo wings” which is an extra fun label for underarm flab… although I lovingly call mine kimono arms. My Brit vocabulary list now includes the addition of “Jack the Lad,” which Mr. Google informed me was “a brash, cocky young man.” I do love learning new terminology.

Mia, Garrick, and Ella are back and they are certainly settling into country living in little Pondale. Ella has her new man Justin and Garrick has Alexia whilst Mia is still single, although there are a few men in the village who wouldn’t mind dating her. Mia though only has eyes for one man and he’s not available, but it would seem he might just be happy to dump his current girlfriend for her, but is it really him she wants?

Alongside the trios love lives, it would seem that someone is trying to get Mia and her friends to leave. Although the warm welcoming they three first received is quickly dissolving and Mia is none too happy when she finds out that the villagers had been betting on how long she would stay and who would get her inheritance if she left before the year was up.

There is also the village fete, the kite flying competition, summer solstice, nude swimming and Mia’s mum Lori arrives too, just to add that little bit of glamour to the village.

This is the second book in the series with ‘The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane: New Beginning‘ being the first. You really need to read the first book to understand this one. For me, this second book was both enjoyable and frustrating at the same time.

With this being a series and with each book being quite short, there is lots of information and scenes that happen in this book that are not finalised by the end, leaving me hanging. However, I fully enjoyed getting to know more about our trio, although Ella didn’t feature as much as she did in the first. There also wasn’t much progress in the search for information about Mattie either, except that no-one really knew her and there are no photos of her.

There’s also the matter that it would seem Mia has some kind of pull over the men in the village. I think she is some kind of Goddess, either that or the villagers aren’t used to sweet, pretty women. Even when she eventually gets her man, others still show an interest and she obviously likes someone else as well. Plus there is the shock of a certain man making a pass at her (I won’t say who but I was shocked).

With the final scene seeing Mia visits a fortune teller and predictions about her future made, I now look forward to seeing if they come true in the next book, ‘The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane Part Three: Autumn leaves‘.

Winsome, lighthearted and fun!

In this second outing in The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane series, Summer Secrets, we head back to Little Pondale with Mia and the gang and find that love is definitely in the air, great-aunt Mathilda's identity and secrets are slowly being uncovered, and the pub is still the best place for handsome, single men and town gossip.

The writing style is warm and witty. The setting is idyllic. The characters are quirky, intriguing, and lovable. And the engaging plot is a lovely mix of budding romance, sentimental moments, friendship, family, community, and a touch of mystery.

Overall, Summer Secrets is a quick, charming, easy read that certainly leaves you feeling fulfilled but undoubtedly eager for more.

The story is set over four instalments of which this is the second one. To get full enjoyment I would suggest reading in order, especially as I loved getting to know the village and the people that live there in the first one.

It was so good to be back in Little Pondale, I can’t tell you how eager I was to be able to read more about Mia and all the other characters. There is a bit more of a sombre feel this time round. Love and attraction is very much the main theme and as we all know, love never runs smoothly. Not in films and books anyway, that’s for sure!

It’s probably a good job that the village is a fictional one. With all the hunky single men there, they would have other single people coming in droves as there certainly seems more men than women in the village. No what’s not to love about that?

As with the last book, I am desperate to read the next instalment to see what will happen next and to get behind the enigma of Matilda, Mia’s great aunt. The author certainly knows how to tease the readers and ensure they come back for more.

The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane is a charming and engaging read that I struggled to put down. Highly recommend it to lovers of this genre.

My thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

5☆ So Good To Be Back! A Must Read Series! - #LilyPondLane

The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane - Summer secrets is the second part in the series and I was so excited to be back.
You definitely need to read these parts in order as they follow on from each other and there are stories that are yet to be answered.

Now as this is a short read I don't want to risk giving anything away. But what I will say is how much I adore this series so far!

I loved being back with Mia. She is a little wild and a bit of a minx when it comes to luring the men. They just seem to flock towards her lol.

There is plenty of drama still, i loved that there is still a whole shroud of mystery lingering over Little Pondale and Mia's Mysterious Great Aunt Matilda.
The village is still full of quirky loveable characters and some pretty interesting events happening this time round, you won't want to miss!

I'm so excited to get my hands on the next instalment as I want to find out what's next for Mia and her friends.

If you are looking to start a wonderfully warm, Feel Good Summer series, that has plenty of Romance, drama, Mystery, Fun, quirky loveable characters and witty banter.

Then you definitely need to pick up The Cottage on Lily Pond- Summer Secrets.
But start at the beginning- you won't be disappointed!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

It’s such a pleasure to return to Little Pondale and pick up this series where book one left off.

Once again, we follow Mia, Ella and Garrick as they settle in to Sunbeam Cottage and begin to participate in village life. Still unsuccessful in the bid to find out more about Mia’s benefactress, Great Aunt Matilda, they continue to wonder about her and find out what they can.

Garrick’s romance with Alexia continues but Mia and Ella are still waiting for their ‘Mr Rights’. Living in a small seaside village is quite a bit different to city living, and the trio find it difficult to accept that their every move is not only known but gossiped about locally.

Emily Harvale has a lovely smooth and flowing manner with words, and successfully manages to entwine several story lines and introduce a bit of a mystery in this second book. A great cast of characters continues to keep this one fresh and interesting and I’ve been completely enthralled with all the goings-on and am so looking forward to reading the third novel. A definite must read, and especially if you are looking for an enjoyable holiday book – or three!

My thanks to both the author and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing my copy. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

I seem to recall at the end of part one I would be delighted to see part two arrive rapidly. Well it did .. The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane: Summer Secrets has made itself known to me and been read with great joy.

While it’s lovely catching up, if you are anything like me you want to press on and find out what magical things will occur next. Mia’s mother Lori shows up so you get an inkling that she won’t just blend into the background, especially when there is talk of naked frogs and ponds lol

Mia herself is still trying to fathom Aunt Matilda’s motives. I can’t really say any more without spoiling the contents, with a short instalment it’s only fair to let the reader discover the charm for themselves. It may seem obvious but just in case of doubt it really does pay to read these in the right order to gain full enjoyment.

Once again I have a few days to wait until I will read the next one .. Emily Harvale delivers sweet, funny, romantic stories, jump on in and give her a go. It’s well worth it.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Rachel from Random Resources for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Yup, I did what I said I was going to and ran straight to book 2 of this great series as we come back to Mia, who is still navigating her way through the mysteries of Little Pondale, including unwanted gifts from someone who obviously doesn’t want her to last the year and claim her inheritance. This was done expertly and I found myself backing away distrustingly from all asunder-thinking ‘hold on a second …’

The romance is upped in this book 2 and I fell into it, deciding almost immediately who I wanted Mia to end up with. Now I will admit there are a lot around vying for her affections, but we were told that there’s a lot of single men there, and Mia’s new, so fine! I flew through the book and enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s definitely something a little different and I’ve just finished book 3 this morning and will have the review of both that and book 4, which I’m reading now, with you in time for Halloween (book 3 is autumnal and book 4 is Halloween-y!)

This is part two of the four part serial for the Lily Pond Lane series.  It obviously does make sense to read the series in order to get the full enjoyment of the story.  Each part is also quite short in length, so is ideal for a bit of quick reading!  I managed to finish this part in a couple of hours!

We are back in the village of Little Pondale.  To recap, Mia has been left a house by her great aunt Matilda under the condition that she has to live in it for a year else she forfeits the Will and everything will be left to, as yet, an unknown beneficiary.  Mia has moved into the house with her friend Ella and Ella’s brother Garrick and they are already well known throughout the village!  Mia has realised that whilst everybody knew her Aunt Matilda, nobody really knew what she was like and is even struggling to find a photograph of her!  There also appears to be somebody in the Village who doesn’t want Mia living there – could it be the mystery benefactor making sure that Mia forfeits her inheritance?

This was a great continuance to the story from the first part, although it was very different to the first part.  There was lots of romantic liaisons going on with Mia, Ella and Garrick working their way through most of the village (obviously only the younger ones – I think Hetty was safe!)  I loved the mystery of who the benefactor could be, and obviously have my own suspicions which I won’t air yet for fear of being wrong and looking stupid!  I also can’t work out who will eventually be Mia’s love interest as there appears to be many contenders!  Lots of little cliff-hangers and questions still to be answered!

The story ended well, leaving the way for Part 3 to pick up the story.  I can’t wait to get to the end of this series to find out what happens!

Mia is now trying to live her one year in her great Aunts cottage as a part of the inheritance deal. Her two friends Ella and Garrick are staying with her and enjoying being in a village, getting to know new people. One with a romantic twist. Mia still can only find out very little about Matilda, it appears that she talked to people and that they liked her but she never told them anything about herself. This was a part two in two halves for me. The first half is more about the three friends relationships with others and I was rather taken aback at how blunt they were in some instances. Maybe I am old fashioned but asking someone “for sex” was just too forthright. Half way through the book got back to the original plot of Mia, the house and the inheritance which I enjoyed much more. I understand that there will be a parts three and four. For me this should be one book as each time it is leaving things unfinished.sorry to say that I enjoyed the first one far more than this . A story left unfinished.

Summertime follies!

Mia does not want to be naked in front of everyone at the Summer Solstice! Her Mom, Lori, who is 60ish, can't wait to go! As Mia works on her fear of water, she is upset by Net and her feelings for him. She's in love with Garrett! Isn't she?

Part 2 of this series did not disappoint me and I so enjoyed it that I was looking for Part 3 as soon as I had finished. The characters of Mia, Ella and Garrick were as sparky as before and there is a plethora of clues to make you think that there is more to Mia's aunt, Matilda, than meets the eye. Trying to keep up with the romantic pairings within the story gets harder and there is plenty of scope to think that Parts 3 and 4 will turn up some surprises,

This is a lovely novella to take you through a summer's afternoon as the writing flows freely and before you know it, you have read it through. My favourite character is still Mia and you will her to sort out her feelings about certain people. Let's hope, she can pick her way through the clues to find out more about her mysterious Aunt Matilda.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book

Oh my. This is definitely one of those books that I didn't want to end and I hope I don't have to wait too long to get part 3.
Part 1 begins with Mia inheriting a house from a great aunt she never knew she had but once she gets to the town, she finds there are stipulations that must be met for her to keep her inheritance. She has to live there for one year or she forfeits this house and everything inside the house. Her great aunt has provided her with enough cash for her expenses while she lives there for a year. She has a couple of friends, brother and sister Garrick and Ella, who are her best friends and they both having jobs that they can work on anywhere they are, decide to help Mia move in and make the transition to this little town with not much in it.
So Mia never knew this aunt and she is scouring picture from the town because everybody knew he aunt but no one and I mean no one has a picture of her. So not only did Mia not know her aunt (she was like the black sheep of her family and no one really ever spoke of her) but she can't find a picture of her for anything. People in the town say she looks like her aunt.
So book 2 starts with Mia, Ella, and Garrick going through tons of the towns photos looking for just a glimpse Mattie along with the neighbor/their house cleaner (Hettie) since Hettie would be able to point Mattie out and nothing. Not picture whatsoever of Aunt Mattie.
We find out some more info on some of the townsfolk. Mia goes on a date with Bear aka Rupert. Ella begins dating Justin who is a baker but also does dancing/stripping shows on the side. I know, sounds strange right? But apparently it is all the rage over in Little Ponddale. Garrick dates Alexia, the pub owners daughter and he appears smitten with her but after their first date she is not as smitten with him and he is with her but nobody knows why, neither one of them are talking to anyone else about it.
I could go on and on but I don't want to tell the whole book right here. But what has me wanting more so much is that Jet Cross who was very good friends with Mia great aunt Mattie is a very interesting but mysterious character and Mia thinks she is falling in love with him but by the end of the book, she is dating Garrick but basically hanging on Jet's every word. And then of course the book ends and scream to myself...NO! I want more. Until next time.

Well, the plot is definitely thickening in the second part of this book and the pace is fast and furious with developments – some of them very unexpected!

Mia is struggling with trying to find out more about her mysterious Aunt Matilda who has left her the cottage. despite having lived in Little Pondale for 25 years and being very involved in the local community, no one seems to know much about Mattie herself and we are all left wondering why she was so mysterious, and why she was so estranged from her family that Mia had never met her. I have been left very curious as to what Mattie’s story is and can’t wait to read on to find out more.

On the romantic front, Mia’s love life takes a dramatic upswing but things move quickly in a direction I was not expecting and I have adjusted my expectations about where this is going quite drastically, so that is some clever plotting by Emily and I am intrigued but uncertain as to whether I have guessed correctly as to how things might develop. She has laid a lot of clues and hints about what might be coming, but I am not sure which are red herrings and which might be the true pointers, which is a great way to make us eager to keep reading. The characters are also revealing more about themselves in different ways, and my opinion of the main players is subtley shifting all the time; it is very well done in this regard.

Village life also hots up in this instalment, with a raft of events that give opportunities to move the plot along, not least the infamous and eagerly anticipated Midsummer’s Eve naked swim in Frog Pond. My one minor whinge about this book would be that we didn’t get enough juicy details and images from this because of the perspective the book is written from – you are a spoilsport, Emily Harvale!

Despite all the fun and frolics and deepening relationships, someone still seems to be trying to get rid of Mia and her friends from the village though. Is it the curse? Or is it because of the inheritance? I still have my suspicions, but they have altered slightly since book one and I can’t wait to get into Part Three to see if there are any more clues revealed. I will be reviewing Part Three: Autumn Leaves here on 12 August, so check back then to see if this series continues to be a great read. So far, so fabulous!

"Summer Secrets" is the second part on this series and we keep following Mia’s new life in the intriguing village od Little Pondale.

All the things I loved about the second book, the friendship and the interactions between the characters, the mystery and all the secrets, the gossiping, the fun and light tone of the book, all the single men, the plot, and the humor… It’s still here in "Summer Secrets".

The storyline keeps getting better with each moment that passes. Love is in the air more that in the first book, Mia’s mom is here, and the book kept me interesting with the colorful writing (and covers) and even attitude of it’s characters.

We are still discovering aunt Matilda’s secrets. To me she’s this mystery that I don’t know if I want to figure out. I like that there is that enigma of “Who is Aunt Mattie? Who is she really?” from the very beginning of the series. And because most secrets are still in the closet, and even when we talk one out, there are still more inside, I kept wanting to read more.

Plus, the characters are the best. The way the plot continues to roll, relationships are formed, and a lot of funny moments happen. It’s like one of the novellas my grandma used to watch, unbelievable things happen between the characters. Unbelievable because of the funny and entertaining aspect of the scenes, not because it was unexpected.

So, I applaud Emily for that brilliant job in keeping things interesting and fresh.

[Once again I'm a part of a blog tour that Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources did. And Thank you Rachel and Emily for the book I got in exchange for an honest review.]

It was so lovely to return to the village of Little Pondale and join Mia, Ella, and Garrick for part two of The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane series, which is the Summer Secrets edition.

In the first book, Mia has inherited a cottage from her mysterious Great Aunt Matilda and friends Ella and Garrick have come along to help Mia get settled in. In this edition, Mia is determined to find out more about Matilda and requests help from the villagers, but Matty had been intensely private and no one knew her well.

All the previous characters are there, including Hettie the village gossip and a handful of handsome (single!!) men. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy to see Mia as a permanent fixture in the village!

As well as the mystery of Matilda the three start to build relationships which brings some romance into the story. A fortune teller warns Mia to 'choose love wisely'  and although Mia is a non-believer, seeds of doubt creep in about the relationship she has recently started.

It's a book to read in one sitting, the characters continue to develop well and the story flows along nicely. It's just like returning home to a pair of fluffy slippers, I'm hoping part three will provide the hot chocolate (with extra marshmallows!) A sneaky preview can be found at the end of this review.

Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources and the author for providing me with a copy, which I have reviewed honestly.

Mia, Ella, and Garrick are back, and boy does Harvale have some surprises in store for her readers in this one! Love seems to be in the air, but so does some mystery!

Mia is settling into her life in the small village, and she is desperately trying to discover the mystery that is her aunt. She learns some little tidbits about her, but nothing that really stand out. Along with that, Harvale delves deeper into the secondary characters. We learn a bit more about Hettie and Jet. Lori, Mia’s mother, also arrives on the scene that adds a bit to the storyline.

Mia definitely has her hands full with would be suitors, but she can’t seem to make up her mind completely on which man who holds the key to her heart! She seems a bit indecisive, so hopefully she will decide soon!

Without spoiling anything, the tone of the story takes a more mysterious and darker turn, but despite that, it doesn’t take anything away from the charm of the book. I’m really anticipating the third book to find the answers to all the mysteries that occur within this one. Harvale really raises the level within the last chapter of the book!!!!

I really enjoyed this story, it was just as good as part one so this is looking to be an excellent story!!

It was a genuine pleasure to read it and it took me no time at all as soon as got back in to the story I flew through the pages. The setting is lovely and definitely still somewhere I wish I could visit!

The characters were great and I am loving how they are developing as the story progresses. I liked them all from the outset and their interaction was brilliant but they are even better in this part. This is a brilliant holiday or summer read and I read it in a few hours sitting in the sunshine. It is light-hearted, positive and very uplifting and I CANNOT wait to read the third part!!

Five stars from me for this one – very highly recommended.

My Review - The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane-Part Two
by Emily Harvale

I loved part one of this book. Part two turned all romance and there were a lot of different men. The mystery of the house etc. got put on the back burner. Which was a shame as that is what I preferred. Also, this was not as funny as part one.

Despite that, I really am looking forward to reading part 3.

3 Stars - I read this as part of a blog tour

I'm done. This is just sad. I don't now where to start. The storyline keeps getting thinner and thinner with every page. If some could inform me how this story ends I would appreciate it, but I'm not going to read it myself.

Couldn't decide between 2 or 3 stars. I went for three because I still want to know what happens. A few parts that made me cringe and if any more characters start saying "bloody Nora", I may give up all together 🤦

I was really excited to read the second instalment in this wonderful series. I was so looking forward to reading more about Mia's great-aunt Matilda and finding out the mystery about her and also getting to meet Mia's mum Lori. I love the setting of Little Pondale so was also excited to read about the community events that are taking place! I also love the slight changes which have took place on the cover, the darker coloured sky, the bunting and the change in flowers all look really warm and inviting.

I am completely and utterly obsessed with this series! I just want to read and read and read until I've finished every one! They are so easy to read and you'll want to devour each one in much the same way as I am right now! In this novella, we get to know Mia a whole lot more and we also get to learn quite a lot about the mysterious Jet too. There's definitely a sense of mystery within this novella, for example, who is leaving the items in front of their door?! I'm so eager to find out who it is. I have my suspicions but I'm really not sure who it could be, everyone seems a little mysterious so every time I think I've realised who it is, I change my mind again!

We also see Mia and Garrick's relationship blossom, which I had been wondering about throughout the first two in the series. Mia came across as though she really liked him but as I neared the end of this one in the series, I was a bit unsure as to whether they would last! Garrick, at first, comes across as the perfect partner and I'm so happy for them to finally realise their love for each other. However, as the book goes on Mia starts to want to get to know Jet a whole lot more and Garrick himself seems like he's hiding some sort of secret... Ella seems to be the only one without a secret at this point, but I've come to learn that that can all suddenly change!

Once again, I just want to praise just how much I'm loving this series so far. I'll post my reviews daily so you don't miss out or be kept in suspense but I can definitely recommend you pick them up today! You won't regret it!!

This is a sweet and thoughtful four-star read. I read parts one and two together so will review them as one, as I don’t remember where one ended and the next started. I really enjoyed the story as a whole, and wanted to give it five-stars, but there were a couple of points that knocked the story for me so I couldn’t, I think I know Matties secret, but I won’t know for certain until I get into parts three and four. There was too much chopping of emotions for me to really enjoy getting to know Mia, I just wanted to tell her to grow up a couple of times, as she was criticizing others for what she was doing herself. The village just sounds ideal, and somewhere I would adore, and I understand Mia in her confusion over the cottage, as we would all struggle to take the information in a meeting like that, so that I understand, but some other stuff I really don’t. I a eager to find out if the fortune teller was right with Garrick, but not in the way the group think.

Loved the first book and couldn't wait to read part two. Turns out I could have waited because I found it soooooo tedious, not quite boring, but close.

I found myself thinking are these characters to be believed? The silly conversations and situations and apparent red herrings the author has thrown in, got quite annoying by the end, and I found myself checking how many pages I had left to read.

One character in particular really rubs me up the wrong way, Jet, oh my, what a conceited know-it-all. Can't imagine any of today's young women playing those ridiculous word games with a person they've just met.
Just my opinion folks and guess what- I'd bought all 4 if these books in the series (silly me) so now have no option but to continue reading- ah well one can only hope the last 2 turn out as good as the first one! 😉

This story was a refreshing departure from my usual thrillers, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. As a fan of Camilla Läckberg, I typically gravitate toward darker, suspenseful reads, but with November here, I felt the need for something warmer, more uplifting. I wanted a story that would bring a sense of place, ideally one with scenic, seaside charm—something that would still feel cozy even as I read about the lingering summer days depicted in the story.

Though this isn’t my usual genre, I found myself captivated, eagerly following along to see what happens next with Mia and Garret. As I write this, I’m already holding part three, Autumn Leaves, and I’m excited to see where the journey goes for my new favorite characters in this enchanting setting. The author has created a truly atmospheric read, perfect for cozying up as the seasons change.

This book wasn’t quite as nice as the first one but it was still a good read. The mystery is deepening and the “who will she choose” story line keeps getting new wrenches thrown it. I find the timeline of this series rather strange. I’m halfway through the series but it’s only been like a month in story time but the story suggests that the story will need a year to complete. Some of the characters are starting to annoy me and I have trouble with some dialogue that feels forced- but I’m still willing to read the next part and I do hope to complete the series.
