This a interesting and beautiful book . The illustrations are specific and on point. The instructions are easy and the object chosen and drawn are extremely cute . Really appreciate the concept . I recommend this book to everyone who like cute stuffs and has a interest in drawing
Thank you @netgalley for providing me with a review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
It’s no secret that my daughter (8) and I love spending time together drawing. We always look forward to trying out new, cute tutorials. I’ve followed @piccandle on Insta for quite some time. Back in August, we bought the Kawaii Doodle Class book and had so much fun using it. When we saw this latest addition, we jumped at the chance to check it out.
What I love about Kawaii Doodle Cuties is it teaches the user about different things you would find from all around the world. Each picture lists the name and what country it is specific to. The categories include Adorable Food, Precious Nature & Natural Wonders, Enchanting Arcitecture & Monuments, Lovable Animsls & Birds, Charming Transportation, Fetching Fashion and Everyday Cute. Each tutorial gives step-by-step visuals as well as a description on what part to draw next. It’s super easy to follow and understand. The categories end with additional images to help you get inspired to doodle on your own. The last few pages include some super cute Search-&- Find Puzzles.
This would be a wonderful book to have on hand if you are studying geography or if you just have an artist who loves to draw. It would make a fantastic gift!! We will definitely purchase a copy of our own.
Prepare to be overloaded with cuteness, but that is what you came for, right?
This book is a step by step instructions to draw all sorts of cute stuff, more cute stuff than you can shake a stick at. (Although, admittedly, a lot of the ways to get your drawings super cute is to had eyes and a mouth to them, bust this book shows you how to do it, so it works.
The book is set into sections, for food, travel, animals, that sort of thing. It is more a look-up-what-what -you-can-draw rather than sit through and read every note of it.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
Are you ready to level up your doodling skills? With this book, you can learn new drawing foundations that will not only level up your doodles, but also increase your general drawing skills.
This book is absolutely adorable. I decided to check out more books from Pic Candle and Zainab Khan after reading Kawaii Doodle World, so I picked up this book and was not disappointed. Not only is it cute, but it also includes basic drawing skills that are presented in a simple and relaxing environment. I actually learned something that I didn’t even pick up in my college level drawing classes. I don’t know what that says about those classes, but hey. There is always something new to learn so I can’t complain.
As I noted in my review for Kawaii Doodle World, I think this is a great book for kids who like to draw. Each doodle has step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow, but I would say this book is better for kids close to middle school age. I can see younger kids getting frustrated with the more complex doodles included in the book, so I wouldn’t recommend it for younger kids who like to draw.
At the back of the book, there’s more search-and-find puzzles that double as coloring pages. I love these little search-and-find puzzles because they’re such a fun way to end the book.
I went through this with my daughter's, we all totally loved it. We all have different drawing abilities but all managed to follow the steps easily and all ended up with lovely drawing after. The steps are clear and simple and leave you with fabulous doodles that make you look like a pro!! Great selection and interesting themes too. Brilliant book that would make a great gift to people of a wide age range.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My daughter used this book on my kindle to draw some of the pictures she loved it. Shes 8 but that doesn't matter im going to try a few myself. I love how cute these pictures are!! Easy to follow instructions. It lagged a little on an ebook stand point. It could have been my kindle too. I would totally get this in print form if the price was right! Thanks netgally and publisher for allowing me to review the book for a honest review!
This book is Adorable! Kawaii Doodle Cuties: Sketching Super-Cute Stuff from Around the World has a lot of great drawing tips for the Kawaii style. ~ Koala ^-^
I wanted cuteness, and that's exactly what I got. This book features practical strategies that help people draw adorable kiwifruit. And darling little dallahs, which are traditional Saudi Arabian coffeepots. And the Sydney Opera House with a little face on it.
Race Point Publishing and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Kawaii Doodle Cuties. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.
The author starts out by explaining the word kawaii, as some readers may not be familiar with the word. Kawaii is a Japanese concept dating back to the 1970's and the word roughly translates to cuteness. It can be used to describe anything, so the author has taken the opportunity to show readers how to draw doodles in categories such as food, nature, architecture, and fashion, with the country of origin prominently displayed.
With a short description on how to use the book, readers are able to jump right in and start to create. The step-by-step instruction will be easy for beginners to follow, making this book a must have for anyone who has a desire to learn to draw in this style. The author shows the line drawings, including showing the finished picture in color. I really like how varied Kawaii Doodle Cuties is, sparking my interest in picking up a pen and trying my hand at drawing. Some of the offerings are easier than others, but the fun thing about doodling is that there really are no mistakes. Just add in a little something to cover up a problem area and transform what could have been a mistake into something unique and special.
Kawaii Doodle Cuties is not just for kids, as anyone needing a pick-me-up or a smile will not be able to resist the charm of the book. The search and find puzzles at the end of the book add a different element to Kawaii Doodle Cuties and is a fun way of seeing all of the doodles come to life. I had a lot of fun with Kawaii Doodle Cuties and I would highly recommend it to other readers.
I received a copy of Kawaii Doodle Cuties through NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Kawaii Doodle Cuties has got to be one of the cutest art books I’ve read in quite some time. No wonder they found a way to include cute in the title! It was difficult for me to not be distracted by all the cute drawings while reading the instructions, but I’m not considering that a bad thing in this case. This artbook covers everything I could possibly ask for on the subject. It starts with tips, tricks, and tools, as well as a quick guide on how to use the book. From there it goes through several major categories, showing how to draw different things from each. The categories include adorable food (see what I mean about the book being cute?), precious nature & natural wonders, enchanting architecture & monuments, lovable animals & birds, charming transportation, fetching fashion, and finally everyday cute. And yes, those really are the titles of each of the categories listed in the book. I didn’t make them up myself. So that should give you an idea of how adorable this instructional book is.
'Kawaii Doodle Cuties' by Pic Candle and Zainab Khan is a book that will show you how to draw hundreds of things from all over the world in the Kawaii Cutie style.
After a brief introduction and list of tools and tips and tricks, the book is divided in to various chapters. There are chapters on food, natural wonders, animals and birds, architecture and more. In each chapter are some step by step directions and then a page of other ideas in the category. The book ends with a series of fun search & find puzzles that were a lot of fun.
I loved how every instruction ended with 'Draw a cute face, of course.' It made me smile every time I saw it (and I saw it a lot in this book). The instructions seem mostly easy to follow. There were a few more complex drawings that didn't look as easy, but that means the book has appeal to most skill levels.
This book is filled with little doodles from around the world that you can learn to draw yourself. I was personally not blessed with the ability to draw. I cannot make a straight line even with a ruler, but I have always wanted to be able to draw. This easy to follow book with step by step instructions and pictures even had me drawing some of the doodles and if I may so myself they looked pretty good.
This book is great for anyone interested in doodling. From beginners to full on doodle artists. The doodles are all adorable. They are broken down into sections as well. Things like foods, places, and other things.
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.
Thank you to the publisher and net galley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.
I actually read a Doodled from Pic Candle's first doodling book and loved it. So I was excited to check this one out. Happily, I was not disappointed.
The doodles learned in this book have the same style as the first, but are more detailed. The tutorials are just as easy to understand. I followed many of them and they all came out very cute.
I would recommend this to any doodle fans or beginners to drawing in general. I think it especially goes well after playing with the first.
My Review: If you love Kawaiis then you are going to die, hard love, this book!! It is great for the advanced and beginner drawer. No matter if you just want to learn to draw these creatures or just doodle, this book is for you! Each page has an easy to follow step by step guide to draw each Kawaii. If you are like me and love to draw all the time then you can even improve each drawing and make them even cuter.
Do I Recommend this book? YES!!
Go Into This One Knowing: Great for all ages and skill levels
I really enjoyed this book! I am just starting to draw and this book has simple instructions that6 you can build on to move ono other characters. The book includes transportation, food, nature, and animals from around the world and I really enjoyed seeing this figures and expanding my knowledge of these cultures. I look forward to expanding my arts and my craft with the help of this book!
Edit: I have found myself just doodling when I have time. I use the styles I learned in this book to do different animals and things around me. This book has really inspired me to get creative!
The cover is what drew (ha, the pun) me to wanting to "read" this book. I am a TERRIBLE artist (my friends and family can vouch for me) and I figured this book would help me improve my skills or lack thereof. The book has step by step instructions, both visually and descriptive. There are a few easy ones like the beret, chopsticks, and macaron. Maybe I need practice because my macaron looked like a sandwich! There were more intermediate/advanced doodles than I had anticipated but I still enjoyed looking at all the cute doodles and at the end there are pages you can color!
A nice way to learn how to draw cute things like food, monuments, clothes, animals and objects from everyday life. At the end of the book, there are even 6 pages of find and seek activities! I feel like the step-by-step doodling were well explained, and that there were various level of difficulty, which made the book more accessible. There is only one page that I didn't like: the Canadian page where the hockey stick looks mean and the puck very sad.
I also noticed that many times, they copied an image on top of the page but didn't recolored it or made it transparent to match the background color. I could see the colored rectangle frame that was part of the original image. Might be an ARC issue only.
Thank you NetGalley and Race Point Publishing for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Simple and good, give a range of different objects with how to draw instructions for cute result. I use it for my drawing practice and to build my confidence as I’m learning to draw ‘real-life’ sketches which can be quite daunting. Then I have a break and do these cute kawaii doodles which cheer me and my kid up. They also help me to get the idea of how to draw certain objects which I’m not familiar with, like transport vehicles.
Miss 6 is enjoying colouring in my sketches from the book. I think if we purchase, it's more likely to be the 'Mini' book which is organised around countries simply because of the focus we have on doing World Studies.
Miss 6 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
I was sent a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I know you probably did not think about this, but this book is really cute! It feels like a great resource to have for inspiration. The doodles are cute and it takes the reader/drawer through many categories, exploring creativity and having fun doodling.
This book is so fun and sweet! I received in exchange for an honest review. Once the review time was up, I bought a copy. I don't consider drawing as one of my strongest skills. Still, I'm having a blast.
I've been experimenting with various watercolor styles recently and this book is a great start to exploring kawaii. It has a lot of good examples to help guide you towards incorporating kawaii into your art.
