Caine Grennard is a werewolf, living among humans and lacking purpose—until the night he meets a woman with an exotic, irresistible scent. A woman who might be his deadliest enemy.

Born and raised in the Southeast, award-winning author Patrice Michelle gave up her financial calculator for a keyboard and never looked back. Thanks to an open-minded family who taught her that life isn't as black and white as we're conditioned to believe, she pens her novels with the belief that various shades of gray are a lot more interesting. She's a natural with a point-and-shoot camera, likes to fiddle with graphic design and, to the relief of her family, strums her guitar to an audience of one.
Well, that's the condensed, back-of-the-book bio about moi, anyway. :o)
As for becoming a writer...I wasn't one of those writers scribbling stories as soon as I could write, but I was a voracious reader. At the age of fifteen, I told my mom after I'd finished reading a book, "One day, I want to be the one who writes the kind of books readers think about long after they've closed it."
As Patrice Michelle, I write dark, sexy, action-packed paranormal and contemporary romances.
As P.T. Michelle, I write dark paranormal YA books. My first P.T. Michelle book is coming in July: BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS.
Now that Landon has resumed his position as the Lupreda Alpha, with his female Alpha Kaitie by his side, what's a second to do? Caine Grennard has no idea.
To keep from turning zerker (half man/half werewolf for the rest of his life), Caine has removed himself from the Lupreda pact. And the prophecy shoves it's lovely head into another life.
Drawn out of her sheltered life, Emma Gray is forced to find her aunt when she is kidnapped. Can the man with the more than alluring scent help her? And if he can't, can anyone?
Life starts to throw Emma and Caine curve ball after curve ball as it often does. Emma is kidnapped ... twice. Caine rescues her only to have her find out he is a werewolf. She seems ok with that until ... she finds out she too ... is different.
Emma is a Velio. A were-jaguar that was made by the werewolves for something to "hunt" (just as the werewolves were made to hunt for sport by the vampires). Only Emma is one of two Velio that can shift at will and do not need an injectible drug to do so.
Lupreda, Velius and Sanquinas oh my. Unless you've read the first two books in this series I wouldn't recommend starting here. This is definetly not a stand-alone and you will only find yourself frustrated and confused. SCIONS REVELATION was well reviewed on Amazon.com. I can only assume by those readers already invested in the series so I'll try not to be too harsh here.
There is lots of drama and action in this tale and I did enjoy the love story between Caine and Emma especially in the final chapter. Yet with no back story or explanations given until near the end of the book I couldn't figure out who or what the different species were and couldn't have cared less about the all important prophecy.
In short there are werewolves, sparkling panthers, and some mention of vampires within this story. They have all been given silly clan names and the heroines love interest might go "zerkers" at any time.
I recommend reading this series in order and a glossery would have been very helpful.
Scions: Revelation by Patrice Michelle is the third part of the "Scions" trilogy, with main characters Caine, a werewolf, and Emma, a werepanther.
Afraid he's losing his ability to control his shifts, Caine has left his pack to live among humans. He's drifting and alone with no real purpose until he catches the scent of a remarkable young woman in a club. Emma has no idea she's not human, not until someone kidnaps her aunt and she's forced to make some difficult choices in a bid to save her. Caine and Emma should be mortal enemies, but they are drawn to one another. Will their connection be the final piece of the puzzling prophecy that promises salvation to all nonhumans?
This may be the third book of the series, but it's the first I read. The author did not do a good job of providing back story, which left me floundering as I tried to figure out who was who, the good guys, the bad guys, and what the hell was going on. There were different names for the nonhumans: werewolves were the Lupreda, vampires the Sanguinis, and werepanthers the Velius. It seems the vampires created the werewolves to prey on, and the werewolves in turn created the panthers to prey on. How nice. As for the two main characters, he's a brooding jerk and she's a naive innocent. Yawn. I don't know why it was classified as a romance. Instead, it was a series of action scenes, battles, and betrayals while the main characters fought their lust-fueled attraction to one another. And really, that's all it was. It wasn't love; it was lust. That can be exciting, but don't slap a bow on it and call it love. And, why are all these short, paranormal romances so misogynistic? I hate that. I started keeping notes of my WTF stream-of-consciousness: - She's 21?! - Stop grabbing her when she tries to walk away from you - He has to carry her through the snow and then give her a spank when she objects?! - Now they have to share a bed. Really? - Physical abuse when she won't (can't) answer his questions - Aaaaand now he's blaming her for his lack of self-control. Fabulous - How many times can this stupid slut get kidnapped?! - Here comes the attempted sexual assault by the bad guy, which is apparently a Silhouette Nocturne staple. Good grief - Even as a bad-ass panther, she can't win? - Aaaaand now we're physically restraining her. So romantic - She literally just asked him to 'let me go', and he literally outright refused - Oh, and now he's all about seducing her but without any penetrative sex because he's so effing noble. - Now our virgin is giving head like a pro. Head? More like *head desk* - Just wrapping a hand loosely around her nape can 'lock her in place'? Gag me
As if all that crap wasn't bad enough, Emma was a Mary Sue. Her boss, Jared, had the hots for her, Caine obviously did, and the bad guy, Malac, wanted her, too.
The story was awful. It was more about lust and power than it was about love and romance. Back story wouldn't have made it any more palatable, but at least it might have made more sense. Hated it. It's getting two stars, as the writing was good, even though the story was atrocious.

3rd book in the series and definitely not meant to be read out of order. This one follows Caine, the younger wolf and second to Landon, whose youthful changes to his Musk form, the half-man, half-were shape of the werewolf, could become a permanent condition, threatening to turn him zerker.
Caine meets a shy, beautful girl named Emma, who turns out to be more than she seems. Although raised as a human and believing herself to be one, Emma is really a were-panther, a Velius, genetically engineered as prey for the werewolves, or Lupreda, to hunt, in the same way the Lupreda were bred as prey animals for the Sanguinas, or the vampires. Gotta love the 50-cent words for these paranormals. I kinda digged it.
Anyway, if you can follow all that, you're doing well. The story itself is a sweet, sparkly romance between Caine, who's worried about being permanently stuck in his Musk form, and Emma, who learns she's the last hope of her species to breed pure Velius.
Annoying points go to the whole delayed gratification thing between Caine and Emma, who both think the other person is too good for them. Caine and Emma just need to get over themselves and give in to the electricity between them. Together they could probably toast a sandwich.
Another annoyance is the whole prophecy thing, which overlays the whole trilogy like a greasy fairy tale.
The best part of the book is the trust and sincerity between Caine and Emma, despite the tensions around them that threaten to tear them apart. This series keeps getting better and I can't wait for more.

Definitely the best in the series. Each book seemed to get progressively better. This book sees the prophesy to its completion. It involves mostly the panthers and werewolves, though the vampires get involved as well.
A fast, fun, easy read. The plot is a bit deeper than the other books and the characters a bit more filled out. Although the first book was fair, the series as a whole is well worth it.
Excellent action series with vampires, werewolves, and panther shifters [oh my:] and those that love them... Futuristic setting, strong characters and page turning plots. Read in order...
I've got no words it's the best book !!!!! If you have read all the others books you will love this one ,you will find all the answers to the questions and beyond !! I wish there where more books but I was very happy reading it , highly recommended !!!
It was a great and fast pacing read, the book wasn't too long, which was ideal at the time and you can really sink into it from the very first page! It's a book I would actually read again!
