HIS WHISKEY SOUR
Easton Harrison always gets what he wants. All this rock star has to do is crook his finger and women come running. Unfortunately, hook-ups don’t inspire the songs he’s known for and Easton hasn't been able to write a word since his last hit.
After he lands an exclusive gig in Vegas at the Millennium Hotel, the pressure’s on to write a new album. But Ireland, the challenging and sexy as hell cocktail waitress who works downstairs at the hotel’s swanky bar is exactly what he needs.
She's his muse whether she likes it or not. Too bad she doesn't date musicians.
She hates him, he wants her. It’s a match made in songwriting heaven, as long as he can convince her he’s worth the time.
USA Today bestselling author Kim Loraine was raised a Navy brat but spent most of her life growing up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A proper Washingtonian, she's addicted to coffee, doesn't let a little rain ruin her day, and thinks the sun is a gift from God. When not chasing her three little minions around, Kim spends her time writing, reading, and binge watching Doctor Who.
Easton Harrison is a musician with writer’s block. Ireland is a cocktail waitress in Vegas. He needs inspiration and upon meeting Ireland he finds his muse.
Easton isn’t your typical rocker, which is quite refreshing. He doesn’t drink or do drugs and he hasn’t had sex in a year. That’s like light-years for a rockstar.
I liked Ireland in the opening scenes from Easton’s POV, but not as much in her own POV. She has issues from a past failed relationship which she keeps projecting on this one. One minute she’s keeping Easton at a distance, the next moment she’s professing insta-love. Her hot/cold didn’t work for me, specifically in regards to the following instances.
“It might seem too fast for some, but we’ve spent more time together than most couples in their first few months of dating. We’ve just done it all at once.”
This quote really had me seriously side-eying the heroine. What’s she’s saying makes no sense. These two have known each other less than a week, been secluded together less than 2 days. Vacationing together in a bubble is not the same as negotiating a relationship in the real world over the course of time. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy romantic fiction with this premise—where the hero and heroine get to know each other void of OW/OM drama—but the message that the heroine is trying to convey here is naïve at best, possibly even a little delusional.
Ireland is also a bit reckless. A guy you just met and who you think is only going to be in your life temporary should not be a man you’re having unprotected sex with. Sure in romancelandia the reader knows they’ll get their HEA, but romance is also realistic fiction, and this gal wasn’t being very realistic….or practical…or responsible.
If he reaches for a condom, let him freaking use it!
This started off strong and the pair has some steamy encounters, but it slipped as the story progressed. The misunderstanding is ridiculous on the heroine’s part given she already knew enough pieces of Easton’s backstory to put it together.
The pitfalls of a novella length showed at places such as times where scenes seemed to switch abruptly and with the insta-love. This was not a romance that convinced me these two had staying power.
The story ends at 74%.

He's a famous musician but he hasn't been able to write since his last album. But after he met her, he started to write again. She's his muse.
She'd been burned before and doesn't trust easily but they can't fight their attraction to each other.
I loved that he's a rock star but he's not the typical manwhore or one who thinks highly of himself. He's a really good man. And she's a likable heroine.
I really liked the first part of His Whiskey Sour. It was fun, flirty, and fast-paced. Unfortunately, the second part was incredibly disappointing (reasons why in the spoiler tag).
As for the audio book narration, I really liked the duet format where the male narrator voices all the male parts, even in the female POV and vice versa. As for the narrators themselves, Zachary Webber was a great Easton but I was kinda meh on Kylie C. Stewart's Ireland.
Overall 3.5 stars Performance 5 stars Story 3 stars
This was a sexy instalove rockstar novella. It's a short and fun listen/read featuring Easton, a charming musician with a heart of gold, and Ireland, a sassy and guarded Las Vegas cocktail waitress. Sparks fly immediately after a chance meeting in the hotel bar where Ireland works. These two had sizzling chemistry that was off the charts hot thanks to the amazing duet narration by Zachary Webber and Kylie C. Stewart. Zachary Webber is always amazing, but hearing him narrate in the duet style was freaking delicious! I really wished this was longer since I would have loved to know more about Ireland and Easton's pasts as well as see their relationship develop more. Overall, this was a fun and sexy listen!
Kim Loraine manages to pack quite a bit of spunk in this quick, witty romance. Easton and Ireland’s chemistry is sure to keep you turning the pages. The drawback with Novellas is they’re too short and this delightful story leaves you wanting so much more!
I really really really enjoyed this short romance of a genuine, down to earth Rock Star and his bartender. Whiskey Sour is just one of a collection of stories by some amazing authors, and you really don't want to miss this one! Wishing it was a series, it was that good !! Great job, Kim Lorraine
If you are like me and starting out on Kim Loraine, I HIGHLY suggest His Whiskey Sour! I LOVED LOVED LOOOOVED Whiskey Sour! A sexy, witty, charming, and absolutely romantic novella. Oh the chemistry between Easton and Ireland is popping! Sexy, sizzling...this is a quick, super hot read that makes me want to read ALL of Kim Loraine's books.
Easton is a gorgeous rock star. And the fact that he isn't ALL about the fame and glory was really nice. He was charming, sweet, and felt very real and Ireland..first off I LOVE that name, and second she is witty and beautiful and sassy. She really gave Easton a run for his money. The passion simmering between them kept me turning the pages and sighing all the time. I really REALLY enjoyed this novella and can't wait to read the other Cocktail Girls stories!
His Whiskey Sour gets a DELECTABLE FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

Kim Loraine mixes a great cocktail with this novella! Rockstar Easton Harrison is in Vegas, when he a waitress catches his eye. Ireland doesn't date those she serves, but there is something about Easton that is alluring. Their instant attraction has released the block on Easton's songwriting, so he has no intention of letting her go. But will she be willing to take a chance with her him and lose her heart? While I could have listened to more of their story(hint, hint), I loved how much was packed into it. Loraine has filled this short with lustful, hot scenes, learning to trust and a couple I loved getting to know. Add narration by Zachary Webber and Kylie C Stewart, and it's nothing short of intoxicating.
I loved this cute and short read! It drew me in immediately. Easton Harrison...the rock star everyone wants, a chance encounter that equals to true love. You will love the story of Easton and London. One click worthy. You will read this in one sitting! It's a novella, but you can't put it down. Only downfall was I was left wanting more. Kim has a way of doing that to me. She is an amazing author.
His Whiskey Sour is a steamy, fun novella by Kim Loraine. I loved Easton and how he is not your typical rockstar but down to earth but still sexy and sweet and hot as the Vegas heat where this story takes place.
Match Easton up with Ireland, a gorgeous waitress at The Little Black Dress and you got a perfect pairing for a love song!
Thanks Kim Loraine for this wonderful, quick read just in time for the summer heat.
Not enough! I enjoyed these characters so much, I was definitely left wanting more. Sometimes, a little less ego and a little more genuine is just the cocktail I’m looking for and His Whiskey Sour delivered! Easton and Ireland are such real, straight forward characters. I loved them both! The story was fast paced and loaded with sexual tensions in all the right ways! Loved it! #bringbackeastonandireland
I loved how they met and she didn’t recognize him immediately and he played into it and then when she did find out who he was she still gave him rations of crap lol
The end was a tiny bit rushed but ended up well. I adored how he sang to her ❤️❤️
This gem was narrated by Zachary Webber who I absolutely adore and Kylie C Stewart who is new to me! I enjoyed her performance and will happily listen to more she has performed!
Anything can happen in Vegas ... and it did. Ireland did know know who he was when he walked in. He's a Grammy award winning musician. She says "what room are you in" Harrison says "1127", "Good, I'll add this to your room!" What an awesome comeback from Ireland. It's a quick read but very enjoyable, truly a Cinderella story. Hot sex scenes, I wish the story was longer. I would recommend this book.
I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
One Part Sexy Easton One Part Sassy Ireland Shake until Ireland gets it through her head that Easton is gonna devour her whole. Top with love.
This novella packs a serious romance punch. I wanted to read it three times over again, just to get the warmth in my chest that Kim Loraine filled me with.
Can’t wait to read more of the books in this series, so fun and sexy and full of love.
I loved this new novella from Kim Loraine. His Whiskey Sour is part of the The Cocktail Girls story world that is set in Las Vegas. Easton and Ireland have a chemistry that draws them immediately together as well as pulling in the reader. They are a hot and sexy couple that send the flame rating off the charts. I wish this book was longer just so I could read more about them!
The cocktail waitress and the rock star. This short novella is the ultimate love story. She is damaged in love and she is his muse. He woos her and with the help of her cousin Summer convinces her to be with him.
His Whiskey Sour is a short, sexy and sweet read! I loved it! I loved Easton and Ireland! Their chemistry was off the charts and sexy scenes were so hot! I loved them together! I wish this was longer! Looking forward to reading the rest of the Cocktail Girls!
I love this novella. His Whiskey Sour is part of the The Cocktail Girls story set in Las Vegas. Easton and Ireland are great together and their chemistry is strong. This story well written, fast-paced and hot. I love Kim Loraine's writing. I enjoyed my reading and can't wait to listen to the audiobook narrated by Zachary Webber and Kylie C Stewart!
Something quick and sexy from Kim Loraine? Hell yes, I’m in. With HIS WHISKEY SOUR she contributes to a collection of short novellas by various authors which are designed to be inhaled in about an hour.
The only downside: It’s over much too fast… Just when I felt like I have gotten to know the sexy charming rock star that is Easton a little bit, there was no more. Yeah, I knew what I was getting into and I still complain, I know, I know. But I wouldn’t complain if I didn’t feel a connection to the characters – even in this short amount of pages.
What was special about Easton was that he was not all like “here I am, I am a rock star, treat me as such”, but was rather happy to find someone who didn’t like him for his fame alone but for the man he is. And he is a gorgeous male specimen, all right: a heart of gold, sexy as sin and witty and sweet to boot. Once he meets Ireland (gosh, I LOVE that name!) he turns on his charms and everything was lost – it was not only her who could not stop swooning over him…
Sizzling chemistry, hot passion and witty dialogue makes this one a super sweet and super sexy little number! If you’re new to Kim Loraine, this one is a great start, as I’m positive it will have you wanting more afterward!
