"I'm gone!" That's all my now ex-wife said as she packed her stuff and stormed out of our house on my fortieth birthday. It was a total kick in the teeth. Right? I thought my life was completely over before it could really get started.
Turns out gone wasn't a bad thing. Skye did me a favor. She made it possible for me to find my true calling in life - donuts. That cute little pastry chef was just the sprinkles on top.

Kristen Hope Mazzola never fails me with her quickie shorts. Always a guaranteed good time with a whole lot of stream them into the mix. Add in a cup super sweet and you have a cute, sexy, sweet little story that I bet you can't shake.
Don't Be Easy was such a fun read! Packing a serious punch to the heart despite its size, Kelly and Jack were totally unforgettable and their chemistry, totally undeniable. And they are going to find that one moment and one connection is going to change...everything.
Perfect for a quick afternoon read or a good ol' bedtime story... you won't regret this experience.
Cute, sweet, and with a pinch of humor Donut Be Easy is an adorable quick read that leave you with a giant smile on your face! Kristen Hope Mazzola is a master of fitting a satisfyingly full story into a fast read. Newly divorced Jack is dipping his toes back into the dating pool and Bakery owner Kelly is the sexy and mysterious woman who snuck away. Sweeter than a fresh Krispy Kreme these two are a perfect pair that you can’t help falling in love with!
I loved the beginning of this book! The way Jack’s wife leaves him was hilarious even though it was sad. Jack is far better off without a woman like her. Fast forward to a year later, and a newly divorced Jack is ready to make some changes. He is bored with his job and decides to start fresh with a new career. He enrolls in baking classes to start off his new career and there, he sees his 1 night hookup (Kelly) he can’t forget. She is teaching the class. Unfortunately, Jack burns his donuts, but he does get to repeat his hookup with Kelly. And the book quickly closes with the two together.
I felt the end was abrupt and the way Kelly and Jack have a sexual relationship that we are to believe the 2 fell in love and have a HEA. I was hoping for more meaningful interactions between the 2 main characters that was not purely sexual. However, this was a fun read. I’m hoping the follow up will explore relationships more!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
***3.5 Stars*** This is a stand-alone book and is part of a Donut Day Collaboration. This is a super short fun and sweet book. For me a little too short. I felt like I needed more. Like the book jumped from when things were just starting to work for them to them together for a while. I did enjoy the book though. Jack is recently divorced and trying to start dating again. A lot has changed in the dating world since he has been out of it. Kelly owns a bakery, a well-known bakery. She saves him from a drunk barfly one night and they hit off. However, she sneaks away in the middle of the night. What does he do now? He can’t get her out of his head but what is acceptable nowadays? Does he go to her work, track her down? This book was a sweet read. Jack’s ready for a change and Kelly may just be the catalyst for that change. This book has me laughing and wanting to read on to find out what happens. Hopefully it does the same for you.
It opens with wtf moment for Jack, progresses into a sweet meet-cute with Kelly, and gets steamy from there. It’s peppered with familiar names from other KMazz books. The idea of dropping everything to follow your heart is a very real and very strong desire; but it’s not always easy. The story of Jack and Kelly, Noah and Izzy is too short for me though! I wanted more of them and loved their banter! This also comes with a sneak peak at a stand-alone RomCom by KMazz called Stupid Hearts, which I’ve not read but here’s my impression of it: Jolene and Seth have an interesting relationship. It’s good. It’s steamy. It’s a little kinky. I’ll leave it at that :) have to read the full version to know more about it but I like it so far! I will also say that I’ve always loved how Kristen always writes women with strong sexual appetites that make no apologies for that.
Poor Jack! His wife sets up a birthday party for him and then doesn't show up except after it's over to tell him she was leaving him!
He's now back in the dating world. What a meat market it is! He's learning how to meet women on a dating app and most of them he winds up blocking because they are NUTS!!
He has a one night stand with someone who rocked his world, but sadly left before he got any info on her.
He quits his job and decides to take a culinary class and guess who the teacher is!
This was a great little story! However, it was way too short and I feel like there was way more that should have been told. A quick read that had a lot of potential but, for me, fell a little short.
I was pulled right into this super short story. The story has laughs and heartache.
This Kelly and Jack's story. Jack is recently divorced. He was blown away when his wife left him. Now he is trying dating again. Turns out dating is not so bad. He meets Kelly in a bar and right away sparks fly. But can he keep her or will she run from the sparks before he can nail down a number? Can one crazy night lead to a future? Throw in a lesson is donut making and these two together again. Can they figure out a way to be together without all the crazy dating issues?

This will be a short review since the story itself was pretty short (I read it in under two hours).
Jack is newly divorced and attempting to navigate the dating scene. Kelly is the owner of a famous bakery. Drinks in a bar turns into a one night stand but maybe they can turn it into more?
Honestly, there's not a whole lot to this story. The characters are not real developed and the plot is simple. BUT if you're looking for a quick, sticky sweet read to fill up a couple of hours of your day, THIS is the book for you! It's sexy and sassy and flirty and fun!
Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
I felt like this was too short and I didn't get much of a story. As of the date of this review (June 24, 2018) this book ended slightly before the 50% mark and included three (3) sneak peeks of other books. I was trying to get into a story that apparently just didn't exist. I felt like when Kelly and Jack finally got together, the story ended but I felt there was more to be told. Why mention the new development with Jack's ex if it wouldn't go anywhere? Was there a deeper issue for why Kelly didn't leave her number for Jack? I had more questions but they're a bit more spoilery. I just hate when I finish a book and still have questions.
Have you ever been screwed over by an ex-lover? Are you tired of playing dating games with social media and insidious dating apps? The men who show up and look completely opposite from their profile picture? Catfish? Then, this book is for you! Jack is sweet, single, and lost. He bumps into Kelly and sparks fly. But she doesn't leave a phone number. Join Jack and Kelly on a little doughnut adventure. This sweet rom-com is a quick, fun read. You'll love how sweet it is! I absolutely love that Mikey Lee is on the cover. He's the best! Also, I wish this book were longer. :)
This sweet treat by Kristen Hope Mazzola is 4 stars!
Kristen Hope Mazzola does again what she does best - packs a satisfying read in a story that can easily be read in one sitting. Donut Be Easy is sweet, funny, and sexy all rolled into a romance with engaging characters with great, can't keep their hands off each other chemistry. Jack's been burned by love and is just getting back out there when he meets pastry chef Kelly, who seems to have a bit of trouble committing to more than one night. Turns out donuts can lead to a lot more than sugary goodness as this fun couple finds their happily ever after.
I love Donut Be Easy. Jake may be recovering from a failed marriage but he has it all together and ready for life changes. Kelly is a breathe of fresh air when she enters the picture. The chance meeting and the sparks are flying with these two. I love Jake and Kelly together. How can you not once you read this. Add in that she is a baker and donuts of course you have a winner. This is a really sexy cute quick read that you will fall in love with.
Kristen has done it again!!!! Super fast & fun read!!! I loved both Jack & Kelly! Recently Divorced.. jack has decided to get back out there in the dating field... a chance meeting at the local bar Jack meets Kelly... Kelly is the owner of the new local bakery.. what happens when flour and sparks start to fly...
This was one enjoyable quick read. Jack's ex is so nasty that I hope karma pays her a visit. Jack finds himself back in the dating game and boy is he in for a ride. The dating game has changed so much since he was in it. It was fun watching the dating disasters Kelly and Jack find themselves in. This story had me laughing quite often.
So sweet and fun! Jack's 40th party just literally ended and his wife decides that's the best time to leave him. Jack needs to get back to dating but he doesn't know what he is doing..thank God for Kelly saving him lol Kelly has no shame and she has no problems saying it like it is..and she is very happy to take advantage of the newly singlr hottie. These two are fun and quirky
This was a cute second chance love story. Jack and Kelly met by chance, but they bonded after a lesson in donut making and the rest is sweet history. This was a fast read but you really got the sense of the feelings and characters.
Kristen does it again! She’s writing a fun, quick read! I loved Donut Be Easy! Jack and Kelly are great characters! It’s a funny, sweet story that will put a smile on your face!
Jake's story starts off with a horrible wife. Things get much better for him when Kelly rescues him from a drunk bar rat. This is a short and sweet story with a romantic twist. Congratulations Kristen.

I loved this short story. I loved even more it was in my age group. I would feel the same if I were single at my age. Jack and Kelly made me laugh and the sexy times were just steamy enough.
This story made me LITERALLY laugh out loud! It also really appealed to me, because I am a part of the 40-ish group and know how starting all over at that age can be. The characters were very relatable. Well done, Mazzola!.
I adored this story! Jack and Kelly were both great characters, but I have to say that I’m slightly in love with Kelly! What an amazing female lead!! Five Huge Stars!!
Loved this story! Loved the story line including the culinary school and donuts!! The main characters may have met by chance, but they were definitely meant to be!
