Marco has faced legions of Vampires. Now he faces something even worse. San Francisco.
Marco and Amanda saved Brooklyn. But Marco still can’t face his love for Amanda. He would only drag her down into his personal darkness.
So he packs his bags and goes to help Merle with San Francisco’s little Vampire problem. Violence is what he’s good at, after all. Even if it means leaving his beloved New York for the Bay City.
But they’re stronger together, even if neither one of them will admit it. When Mister Day, a creature far beyond a vampire, comes for them, they can no longer afford to be apart.
Mister Day cannot be killed. He cannot be imprisoned. Alone they’ll certainly die. Even together they can’t hope to fight a monster like him.
But they’ve got to try anyway. If it costs him his life, Marco will keep Amanda alive. No matter what, he will make sure she survives Mr. Day.
Will Amanda have to face the rest of her life alone? Or will Marco find some way to kill Mr. Day?
Declan Finn continues Amanda and Marco’s adventures with his flair for property destruction, guns, and yes, explosions. Readers will love the quirky new characters and the will they or won’t they drama of Marco and Amanda.
Don’t miss this installment where all the violence, mayhem, and romance come to a new city. Read Demons Are Forever now.

However, he is most proud of The Pius Trilogy – which includes “A Pius Man,” “A Pius Legacy,” “A Pius Stand,” and an anthology, “Pius Tales.”
The second story was even better than the first, and I loved the first! I am very thankful to see this series back in print. Three Ravens released all four novels in under a week. And they immediately jumped to the top of my reading list. I have read the three published short stories in this series and am truly thankful that the novels are back in print. Though, I really do prefer the original title of this volume ‘Formerly Murphy's Law of Vampires’. But that is likely just the Irish Catholic in me coming out.
I have loved the three short stories in the Love at First Bite Series, and this first novel, this second novel has again exceeded expectations. This is an amazing story in a great series! It was so good I immediately wanted to read book three, and the only thing that stopped me was commitments to review another book with a release date in a few days. This is the Second of the 4 novels in this series they were out of print, but as of April 2023 they are back in print and available electronically and in print. This is great news for fans of Finn’s works, fans of urban noir, or really fans of just great stories.
It has been a few years since I have really read a story or series that has centred on vampires. I seem to go through a phase about every 10 years where something catches my fancy and draws me in. These stories have completely captivated my attention. I finished this yesterday and cannot imagine where the story goes in the next two novels.
Over the last 10 months I have read 43 stories by Declan. I have greatly enjoyed books in several other series. I have loved the Saint Tommy and the White Ops , and I cannot wait for the Pius trilogy of 5 books to be back in print.
The description of this story is:
“After saving Brooklyn from a nest of vampires, Amanda Colt and Marco Catalano are a little banged up. He's been given a job offer to deal with vampires in San Francisco, and it's a tempting offer - it would get him away from Amanda, his feelings for her, and get her away from the darkness inside him. When a death in the family compels Marco to move to the West Coast, they're both left to fend for themselves.
Then the creature known only as Mister Day leaves their world in tatters, and they must once more join forces against the darkness. Only Day is no vampire, but a creature beyond their experience. It will take the combined might of Marco, Amanda, and all of their allies just to slow it down. They have no weapons that can kill him. They have no way to imprison him. To even fight him is death.”
The action in this story takes place back and forth between San Francisco and New York City. In this story we encounter the Vampire council of New York. We have more interactions with Merle Kraft and unfortunately also his brother. We find out more about Marco’s past and what has shaped him. We also learn more about Amanda Colt and her own past. This story picks up right where the last story left off. And Soon we are neck deep in action on both coasts. The Vatican Ninja’s make an appearance again. And Marco as much as he want to be a lone wolf, seems to build teams and bring people together no matter how hard he seems to try to avoid it. I thought the final battle in the last volume was epic, but this one pumps up the action even more. And we have a surprising appearance and conversation at the conclusion of this battle. Readers will love the main characters and be rooting for them, but the supporting cast is excellent as well.
I can’t wait to read the next two novels in this series. These stories have a bit of a feel of Blade or John Carpenter’s Vampires, and thankfully no vampires that sparkle. The stories I have read to date in this series are wonderfully written and masterfully executed.
The novels in this series are:
1.0 Honor at Stake 2.0 Demons are Forever Formerly Murphy's Law of Vampires 3.0 Live and Let Bite 4.0 Good to the Last Drop
The Short Stories are:
01 Blood Stained Cliffs of Dover (Prequel) 02 Bad Date (During the main story arc) 03 Mad Dog Moon (An Epilogue Story)
Declan has created another incredibly series in a shared world. I am hooked. I am very glad these novels are back in print, I look forward to reading them and sharing them with others. A great story in an incredible series! I highly recommend the book and the series.
Holy crap this series is driving me crazy. When I read the first book I was really intrigued by the characters. I usually do not like reading a story from third person point of view especially when it’s following multiple characters. It can become quite confusing but the story intrigued me enough it to get used to it. I love Marco. From his witty banter to his bad ass fighting skills, he is awesome. His ability to control his emotions is something I respect in a person and I love when my characters aren’t all over the place. This is why I also love Amanda. Even though she feels all these things she doesn’t just let it all fall out her mouth. However! I am dying with the knowledge they both love each other but refuse to believe either one could love the other. Like wtf ! And what’s the deal with Merle and his three brothers with matching eyes that look nothing alike? Merle is really starting to grow on me. At first they made his seem human because he didn’t know things about vamps but he works in the weird. I’m not sure if he is a wizard or part something else. Let alone his brother Daft who claims he wants their soles not their deaths. I hope to learn more about him in future books. And hopefully Merle and his woman can get back together since they clearly both still love each other. What is up with these people in not being able to express their feelings?? It’s driving me crazy!
Action in this book is AWESOME!! I mean the whole freaking story is packed with it! And I love action. From mafia, to gangs, then all the way to demons and vamps being behind terrorism like 9/11. It’s freaking crazy! On to the next.
Some books that are a series, still take the time to ‘re-introduce you to the character(s) and general story/mission, or at least some semblance of the previous occurences. I personally never found this annoying, especially if some time has lasped between sequels. Unfortunately, this book does not afford that courtesy, it jumps right into the ongoing storyline. If you have not perused the preceding book (such as myself), you are completely left in the dark as to who, what and why: playing catch-up. Definirely not a stand alone novel. There were editing problems, enough to annoy. This is not the authors fault, if I were him, I would have a serious conversation with whomever was supposed to edit. At first, sentences were choppy, unfinished. As the novel went on, the sentence structure improved and became smoother. Storyline had strong religious theme, which felt more than just a hook for a story; rather author had real beliefs and injects it into his novels. All of that being said, for a vampire book, it was different enough to be enjoyed, and some of the conversations were snappy. I laughed out loud at the ‘touchy feely wiccan New Age psycho babble’ comment one of the characters mumbled. I did not understand why 7/8’s through the book, Marco (main character), was suddenly referred to as ‘the student’ and ‘PA student’- bad editing perhaps? Naturally, the ending really is not an ending; more of a lead into the next sequel.

LIFE IN THE FAST LANE!!! Wow! Ok guys, are you ready? Yeah, probably not, but you're stuck with me. I have to say I was totally floored. Knocked out of left field. If you're looking for a fast paced, action packed, hard hitting, no holds barred, tension roiling, nailbiting read that captivates from the start. Congrats my friends you've just stepped off in it. Yep! From the get go, this page turning bombshell hit the ground running. You have a wild rollercoaster ride that takes you through serious issues and surprises. The characters were realistic, intriguing and complex with an undeniable chemistry that burns between the two main characters. Following along fascinated as their personalities blended well with one another. They really brought the other characters into the spotlight. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that it gives the illusion you were right there in ground zero with them. Twists and turns abound with nerve racking, adrenaline pumping, pulse racing suspense that keeps you on the razors edge. A whirlwind of activity that you can't help but feel like part of the storyline thats written with a strong plot that keeps your eyes focused on the tale as it unfolds. Finn did a magnificent job weaving this world he created that just pulls you in until everything else ceases to exist except for whats right in front of you. Phenomenal job Finn, thanks for sharing this thrilling read with us.
The reader is unceremoniously tossed into the words of the story, as if Book 1 had never stopped moving at high speed and the reader just fell off into the Prologue. If I’m rambling, I think I hit my head when I fell off! And then I started laughing and couldn’t stop.
So, the story line is terrific and races along at a breakneck speed, you really have to pay attention. The highlights are that Amanda Colt and Marco Catalano spend a great deal of energy trying to fight their feelings for each other, neither thinking they are worthy or right for the other. Fortunately, they do come together to save the world against a formidable foe. Mister Day, a creature far beyond a vampire, comes for them. He allegedly can’t be killed nor imprisoned. If they tackle him separately, they will be defeated and killed. But will fighting him together work? Will they find a brief moment to enjoy being together again?
Uncertainties aside, grab your copy of the book and catch up right at the point Book 1 ended. I can tell you already that Book 3 won’t wait for you if you aren’t ready to jump on for a seriously wild ride!
I dont usually do paranormal romance, but I must say it doesn't follow the normal or expected paranormal romance storylines. The main female and male leads do get a bit involved but not to distraction. While there is a bit of romance, it is not overwhelming. You also should know that there are more books forthcoming, so be prepared to need to continue on to get the entire story. I enjoyed the main characters, Amanda and Marco, as they were well written and the secondary characters were fleshed out very well. The action this time goes beyond New York and Brooklyn and so this does not feel like just another rehash of a first book, but is truly a well written and excellent follow up. Mr Finn writes a very good action sequence and there are several of them in this book. I am looking forward to even more action, adventure and, yes, even a little romance in the rest of the series.
Marco and Amanda fight their attraction to each other and Marco ends up studying in San Francisco where vampire attacks are increasing. He joins a team of fighters and takes on the vampires that have been terrorizing the city. Amanda is attacked by Mr. Day who really wants to kill Marco for trapping him in cement. Amanda has a hospital blow up around her and ends up with Marco to battle Mr. Day in San Francisco. I love anything this author writes and eagerly devoured this book in one sitting. The characters are incredible and the world building is amazing. There are vampires, both good and evil, demons, angels, priests, law enforcement and shifters. This book made me laugh out loud at times and very angry and sad at others. I loved this book and can't wait for the next in this series.

This is book 2 of the Love at First Bite series and I must say that it was even better than the 1st book and that was a fantastic read in itself. I loved this story there was so much action and adventure there was also some romance but it doesn’t overwhelm the story which is a good thing for this book. There’s also suspense, intrigue and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I really enjoyed this story and I will be definitely keeping my eyes out for more from this author, I love vampire stories and this series is up there with the best of them but you do need to read book 1. A 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
HOT STEAMY EXCITING are just some of the descriptive words you can use for this book. I absolutely love this storyline for Amanda and Marcos, the way they fight their feelings and how the eventually realise they must work together to save their world from a great evil that they have no idea how to kill so...….. how will they defeat the greatest threat to their world? will they accept their HEA is with each other? READ the book to appreciate the paranormal worlds that we wish were around us!!!!!!!!!

First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review
Wow!!! Gr8story. This is Book 2 and I love how Declan writes the story as a standalone. He gives you a brush up on what happened in the story before this one, but in a quick condensed version. As weird as this sounds, this story was better than the first. This time Marco and Amanda are fighting something more powerful than a vampire, and in San Francisco. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
they were tired after their battle but all he wants to do is get away from her as things are difficult for him especially keeping his feelings hidden. things get more complicated when a new danger arrives and they will need all the help they can get to face it. will they succeed? will they survive? see if they do

This book is a great conclusion to the story of Amanda and Marco. There are some wonderful lines that made me laugh out loud in the midst of the tension. If possible, I liked the characters even more than in the first book. I wish I could be more specific here about the things I liked in the story but I don’t like spoilers. Declan Finn has been added to my list of favorite authors. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am astounded by just how outwardly competent Marco and Amanda are (boy, can they hand out beat downs) and just how internally uncertain each are, particularly about each other. How very human! I can sympathize with them; I'm just as bad at my personal relationships. Marco and Amanda have an advantage over me; they at least recognize that they have a relationship - even if they keep mistaking what kind of relationship it is!
I am still enjoying the development of Amanda and Marco - they are lovely nasty violent characters that you just can't help but want to know! The story is sound and not your usual vampire/human love story. The fight scenes are well thought out and I could see them happening in my mind's eye - incredible! Even the awkwardness between Amanda and Marco is endearing. Definitely looking for more!
This is a wonderful addition to this series, I am glad I read it. I love reading vampire stories and this one is no exceptions. There is action in this story and I am glad I read it. I can not wait to see what the author will write next.

Diamonds Are Forever: A Catholic Action Horror Novel (Love at First Bite
Another excellent action packed funny story that will be sure to please. The action alone will keep you wanting more and more. There is a lot of suspense plus humor thrown into it too making it a fabulous read. Read this series and you won’t be disappointed!
I've been reading the Catholic Action Horror Novels continuously since I discovered them a few months ago. I read the Russell Newquist ones, then Flinn's St. Tommy series, then got hooked on Love at First Bite. They are all excellent in their own way. I'm on to the next.
This book was fantastic. Loved the characters together. Really loved the action in the first book and this one is just as good. So much happening. They always fight their feeling but this book was so good.

I enjoyed this book it is book two in the love at first bite series. The story line is good with a mix of paranormal romance, action and adventure. I look forward to reading more from this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love that the author used different types of characters for this story. The fact that it was a vampire, a human and a werewolf that worked together for one cause is a nice mix.

Well written with intense scenes full of drama and intrigue. Life is ended. Information is obtained. There are great characters who you find yourself rooting for when they try to combat evil. Well done.
What an amazing story. Amanda and Marco work well together but Marco doesn’t want to admit to his feelings. There’s a Demon that will surely kill them but as vampires they’re safer together perhaps. Easy reading, awesome characters.
Another action packed story, characters were amazing again and the storyline fantastic. Cannot wait for the next book. I was given this book via Booksprout for a honest review
A wonderful addition to the series. I love the dynamics between the main characters and how they react to each other. There is never a dull moment. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.

Once again well written. Excellent plot and carry over from book one. I also felt the integration of catholic, horror and action is well thought out and great in multiple ways. I also fell the characters are well written and love how they grow as the second book expands the secondary and the level of know in the various world organization.
