My Earl's Entrapment

Rate this book
Lord William Addington has been forced into retirement as one of the Prince Regent's domestic spies. But he still has one case to solve while attending a house party when an adorably feisty lady enters his room in the middle of the night. He now has another delicious mystery on his hands. Why is Lady Roselyn Pennington snooping about?

Rose is sure Lord Addington is a dullard at best and a criminal mastermind at worst. So why does her heart beat so rapidly every time he is near? And why does he rescue her when she insists on landing herself into trouble time and again? It’s as though he isn’t the man everyone thinks he is or even the one he claims to be.

She set out to catch a thief, a scoundrel, but Lady Roselyn Pennington found herself caught by the rogue, himself, and as hard as she tried to deny it, her heart wanted to be his prisoner.

Lord William Addington has the perfect cover, society sees him as a handsome rake, a dandy without a stable bone in his body. In reality, he has been a spy for the Regent Prince, retired for his own safety, but old habits are hard to break, when a crime is committed and it involves some royal jewels, he must continue his charade for one more time. He never expected to be drawn to the feisty Roselyn, on a mission to find her mother’s stolen gems, too.

How can William keep the little amateur sleuth safe while still catching the real thief red handed? How can he NOT tell her who he really is if he wants any chance of winning her hand?

Tammy Andresen NEVER fails to provide pure entertainment, a few chuckles and some swoon-worthy romance as she brings another headstrong woman into the path of the only man capable of reining her in and keeping her safe, all while falling desperately in love with her.

MY EARL’S ENTRAPMENT is one more in a long line of light Regency romances with a touch of intrigue and a cast of characters that one cannot help but smile for.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen!

Anyone who follows my reviews will release I’ve become quite the Tammy Andresen fan. In fact, I’d say I get my Tammy Andresen fix monthly. Her young adult novels are sweet little reads, whereas her historical fiction novels provide the bodice rippers I enjoy as guilty pleasures. With My Earl’s Entrapment, we’re given another of those wonderful bodice ripper reads.

Earlier this year, Tammy Andresen kicked off the Wicked Earls’ Club – twelve novellas by twelve different authors, with Tammy Andresen setting the bar high with her Earl of Sussex. My interest in the series was high, but even higher was my interest upon getting the news of a Tammy Andresen spinoff series – the Wicked Lords of London series. My Duke’s Seduction was the introduction, and it was a wonderful read; My Duke’s Deception was the second book, and it was just as wonderful. With My Earl’s Entrapment, we get more of the goodness the prior books in the series have provided us.

Know you do not need to have read any of the aforementioned books to enjoy My Duke’s Deception – it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. We get to see some of the characters, which is nice for fans, but you do not need to know their story to appreciate the role they play in this story. Nevertheless, as always, I do recommend reading the books – after all, they’re great reads and it’s always more fun when you get that bit extra understanding.

As wonderful Tammy Andresen’s characters are, I found myself super excited for the male lead in this one. I love a good spy, and I was excited to see how Tammy Andresen linked his story in with what happened with the prior book. There is no doubt in my mind that Will is one of my favourite Tammy Andresen males – he may not be my all-time favourite, but he’s certainly left a mark on me and has set the standard high for the future males Tammy Andresen writes.

As always, My Earl’s Entrapment was a quick read, one you can devour in no time at all. A story that throws you deep into the past, sucks you into the romance, and leaves you turning the pages at a rapid pace. With drama and heat, the storyline will suck you in and leave you questioning what will come next.

In fact, I’m rather eager for the next book in the Wicked Lords of London series.

It’s always a pleasure to read books by this author and I really enjoy this series .
Will is a Spy , looking to catch a thief and clear his own name from suspicion, then maybe he can continue in his chosen career.
Rose is at the house party for different reasons , she suspects Will of thieving and of taking her mother’s jewels .
By the end of this party it won’t be only the jewels that are stolen, a couple of hearts could be be in danger too .
A pleasure to read this book and series .
Brilliant characters , concept and plots , and few old favourite Characters reappear to help out .
I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review

Another great book by Tammy Andresen. A book I had to read in one sitting. The characters are well developed. The pace is fast. The verbal banter between the hero and the heroine are funny. It's a beautiful love story spiced with spying and thievery. Highly recommended!

I adored, My Earl’s Entrapment by Tammy Andresen. For being such a fast paced story it is cleverly written. The character development is great and believable and it has a fun and interesting storyline. The characters are wonderful, and I loved how Will and Rose met. It’s a very cute and romantic read. I have yet to read a book by Tammy Andresen that hasn’t completely captivated me. Her stories always leave me desperate for more!

My Earl's Entrapment by Tammy Andresen is a wonderful historical romance. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Andresen has given us a book that is well-written and packed it with fun to read, lovable characters. Will is forced to retire as a spy for the Prince Regent. Before he does he wants to find the rest of the people involved in his last assignment. Rose is on a mission to find her mother's stolen diamonds. Will and Rose's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle and suspense. I enjoyed reading My Earl's Entrapment and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. My Earl's Entrapment is book 3 of the Wicked Lords of London Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

As I turned the last page I just had to sigh with a smile. Another delightful addition to the Wicked Lords of London series. Although each can be read as a stand alone you will want to read them all! Was he a thief or a spy? Will Addington seems to be a little of both. Rose Pennington thinks he is a thief and is determined to get her stolen jewels back while they both attend a house party!
Loved these two characters and the back and forth between them. Fate just seems to bring them together.
Be prepared to read this novella all the way through. Tammy Andresen always brings her magic to her stories and you are left anxious for her next book!!

My Earl’s Entrapment, Book 3 of the Wicked Lords of London series, was about Lord William "Will" Addington, the Earl of Addington, and Lady Roselyn Pennington (the book lists her name as Lady Roselyn CHASE, not Pennington!), daughter of Lord Reagan, the Marquess of Reagan.
Being forced into retirement from serving as a spy to the Crown was not easy for Will. It left him with too much idle time on his hands, and not enough to occupy his mind. His last job for the Crown had involved his discreet investigation of a ring of thieves led by the Marquess of Hightower. However, when the Marquess was caught, it brought disgrace to Will's family name because the truth could not be revealed without telling the world he was ... or at least had been ... a spy. Since the Marquess had been incarcerated, the investigation had ground to a complete halt without revealing who was behind the Marquess' thievery. Will was determined to get to the bottom of it and at the same time, clear his family name.
Will, with his name in tatters, accepted a rare invitation to a house party...the same one that Rose and her father were also attending. While he didn't pay much attention to her for the first few days after her arrival, he definitely became aware of her when he caught her snooping in his room.
Rose had convinced her father to attend the house party so she could get close to Will. Unbeknownst to him, she believed the rumors that he was a destitute thief that had joined the Marquess of Hightower in stealing jewelry and other items and selling them. Will, for his part, was still investigating the stolen jewels and believed the thieves would be attending the house party too.
What followed could only be considered one of the more romantic love stories of the series. Neither of them was expecting to fall in love and yet, the chemistry and passion could not be denied. The angst and drama were minimal, but there was humor as well as a touch of intrigue.
This was definitely a 5-star story and it will be added to my Keeper for the Shelves collection.

This has been a really good series with such charismatic characters with fun & interesting plots. Lord William Addington is a spy for the Prince Regent & is being forced into early retirement but he has one more case to solve first. Information is received that the thief he is trying to catch is attending a house party, so Will also attends.

Lady Roselyn Pennington is one of the guests to the party & she is sure that Will is the thief who stole her Mother's jewels. This adorable, feisty & headstrong lady creates many problems for Will in his investigation - including being caught snooping in his room in the middle of the night (caught by him). Will has another mystery to solve now - why is Rose snooping about in his room & what does she think he has that she wants? Rose thinks that Lord Addington, is such a dullard but on the other hand is a very sly thief & she knows she will find him in possession of her Mother's jewels. Even with her negative feelings about Will, why does her heart flutter when he is near & why is he always there when she needs rescued from another blunder on her part? Will is either a really good actor or he isn't really the man he has society believing he is.

Will they work together & find the real thief & her Mother's jewels? Will the danger be too great? Will they lose their hearts to one another? I highly recommend this read to all historical romance readers - it is a good stand alone book but the whole series was wonderful & a few of the old characters appear to help with the investigation & catching of the thief.

Another great by Tammy Andresen! My Earl’s Entrapment is book 3 in the Wicked Lords of London series and what a series it is but each can be read as a standalone. Tammy writes such wonderful characters and stories. Her descriptions are so vivid that you can picture them all in your mind right down to the smallest of details. She is truly one of my favorite authors to read and usually I can read one of her books in one sitting because I just can’t put it down. This is one of those book where you say just one more chapter and I will go to bed and you end up reading the whole book. This story takes place at a house party and has a thief, secrets and not everyone is who they say they are, new friendships, understanding, mistrust, judgement, confusion, plotting and yes love. I highly recommend this book and any of Tammy Andresen’s books, you won’t be disappointed.

Travel back in time with Lady Roselyn Chase and Lord William Addington in a mystery of who stole Lady Rose’s jewels.

I'm a sucker for anything with spies and this one does not disappoint! You will be on the edge of your seat from the start with this one. There's an instant spark between them and I was just waiting for them to burst. Their first meeting made it clear that it was going to be an adventure. I loved how this one also brought in the Duke and Duchess of Landon again and answered more about them. I also loved her dad because he clearly wanted her happy and didn't listen to rumors.

Rose finds trouble everywhere she goes no matter what. I loved her personality from the start and how she didn't jump to believe rumors. She was determined to get back what was her's no matter the risks.

Will doesn't and does have the picture perfect life because he's cover is so good that most believe it, but also means he's got a long road ahead of him. I loved him from the start because he was honest as much as possible and was willing to listen to her.

A favorite scene includes a sulute and french doors.

A quick very enjoyable read, whilst part of a series it could be read on its own. If you love series as much as I do then I’d recommend reading in order to fully appreciate this book. The characters are well drawn & likeable, the verbal sparring between Will & Rose is what makes this book so very good, they bring a smile to your face. The story flows effortlessly & had me engrossed from the first to the last pages. I just didn’t want it to end

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

To catch a thief

Rose was specifically at the party to catch a thief of her late mothers diamonds! They have huge sentimental value to her and her father! Will has portrayed himself a gambler, lover of drinking and broke! This is the opposite of who Will is! He has been charged with is last assignment and already feared boredom!
Rose is caught searching his room! Well this set of several sparks! Rose is insecure about her looks and her weight! She thinks you have to be thin to be pretty it comes out in her interaction with other women! Rose immediately notes their size!
Will had this reputation so long it's hard to shake but Rose father and the Duke of Landon know the truth and they are there to help catch a thief! I love their chemistry of Rose and Will and sympathize with the trouble it will take will to firmly shed it! I love this series!

This was a short and sweet easy read (180 pages).
I loved the plot and the tiny bit of angst that was present.
However, I wished there was just a bit more 'oomph' towards the end.
The ending felt kind of flat for me (hence only 4 stars).

Dom - the reclusive hero of the damning gaming hell was surprised to find the beautiful, 'innocent' lady standing in front of him. He was even more shocked to find she's a mistress here to claim his bed in order to pay for her lover's gaming debts. Dom was more than intrigued by this delicate chit. Tried as he might, he couldn't sway his attractions aside.
Adele, daughter of a duke, was standing on dangerous territory. She, whom for all her life had been a wallflower - hiding behind her gorgeous twin sister - braved herself to save her brother.

I liked this one a bit too much; not too draggy. I gobbled this one up within an hour.

An easy to read Regency romance, one where the main characters are not at all as they seem. Getting caught snooping in Lord William’s bedroom is one thing, but having to put on a charade that she is engaged to him it quite outside of Lady Roselyn’s comfort zone. I found the main characters to be very likeable as well as believable. Roselyn was surprised when William appreciated her intelligence, and he is more than surprised when he realises that Roselyn has gleaned as much information about him as she did, just from observing him. There is some suspense and a mystery to be solved but the story does comes to a happy closure. Although this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I love this author’s books. This was another short and sweet with a side of spice and suspense. It was a good blend and I enjoyed it quite a bit! Will has basically ruined his reputation with the ton in order to protect himself. His dealings are of a very delicate nature and to be discovered would be the end of it all and could be quite dangerous. Then there’s Rose. She comes along and sees right through the guise. I love her wits and willingness to go above and beyond. She’s got some real spunk to her and isn’t just a pretty ornament for some man. They’re a good match and I loved reading their love story!

A fun regency with a bit of mystery. Whole stole Lady Roselyn Pennington's jewelry. The only link she has left to her mother. Rose believes the thief is Lord William Addington. Addington was connected to a person who has been convicted in the theft of many of the ton's jewelry but was absolved of guilt by the Prince Regent. Addington, however, was a spy for the Prince Regent forced to retire due to his connection to the jewel thief. Addington wants to catch the rest of the ring though but he didn't expect a lady to both confound his investigation and confuse his heart.
Once again Tammy Andresen pulled me into to her book with well developed characters and a wonderful story.

The Earl's Entrapment by Tammy Andresen was a fun, quick read. Our hero, Lord William Addington, was a spy for the Prince Regent and has been forced into retirement. He needs to solve one last case, at a house party, to help restore his reputation. Lady Rose is also at the house party, she is looking for her mothers stolen jewels and knows he has something to do with them. The sparks fly with these two. It was a lot of fun to read their and watch the journey to HEA

“Be careful judging a man, or a woman, from ton rumors. They are rarely true.”
I so loved these characters. Their push-pull banter and interactions were fun to read. They caught each other off guard, they both told lies and broke promises, but they were drawn to each other and perfect for each other. He had developed a dreadful reputation to cover for his job as a spy, but she saw the real him. Another good read from Tammy Andresen with strong characters, intriguing story, and romance.

Rose is on a self-imposed mission to find a set of diamonds stolen from her by a crooked solicitor. As it turns out, the man she suspected of taking them is actually a spy and the best-suited person to help her find them. The story was pretty good, but I did have to suspend my disbelief a little more than usual for the convenient sequence of events.

This book is another great example of a series that just keeps getting better. The plot is full of intrigue and emotional passages, and the characters are amazing. This book will suit anybody who loves steamy historical romances, that have plenty of twists and turns.

He'd lived a double life, where most saw what was meant to be seen, a rake, a destitute Lord, a gambler and thief. Not one had seen the truth, until her.
She wanted her stolen diamonds back, they were her last tie to her poor departed mother. She would find something to make him tell her where they were.
So, it begins, but where it ends is astounding. Great tale!

Lord Addington is being made to retire but he wants to close this one case. Lady Rose just wants her mother’s Jewels back and she believes Lord Addington has them. When he catches her searching his room he decides its better to work together and sneak kisses than not. Another wonderful book.
