USA-today and worldwide number 1 bestselling author Katie Douglas is the sort of incorrigible British girl you'd find at St Trinian's. She recently quit her job as a school librarian in China to write full-time. She is also a webcomic artist and has degrees in archaeology, computer science and chemistry education, which explains why she mostly writes Scottish and Victorian historical romance or science fiction romance. She prefers diners to fancy restaurants, coffee or whisky to champagne, and sometimes she adults.

I have read a few of Douglas’s books now and I like her branding. She doesn’t go for shock factor rather aiming to educate and give readers an entertaining book when it comes to BDSM. So Lissy’s Daddy isn’t straight up erotica. It’s revolves around an actual relationship and the highs and lows of having an age play relationship and how it makes them stronger . If readers are looking for an introduction and explore this sub world of BDSM this is the book for you. I have read another books which explore age play but this one is gentler introduction it doesn’t go into full blown erotica. territory It touches on the whole world but it’s perfectly placed to show readers what goes on in these relationships and how they can be perfectly normal. It’s an unusual relationship given how things come to be but it works as we see both sides of the protagonists and allows to see how sometimes there needs to be something different. Our protagonists are discovering things for themselves because of this and allows readers to walk aside these two as they figure out their relationship. It’s interesting story and the struggles are real as Lissy and her Daddy face challenges that are unique to their relationship . Douglas make sure to address all views which is uncommon. It works well as plays into the character of Lissy and her Daddy given that they have ordinary everyday lives and they face turmoil thanks to their lives outside of home. I love how it came full circle though and it open up a world that has more potential. I like Douglas made to show that there can be differences in age play and if you like this one , be sure to check out some of her other books .
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

Lissy's boyfriend breaks up with her and belittles her for her need to have toys and dolls. When she then gets together with Dan, she's afraid that he to will leave when he finds out. But Dan loves Lissy's and is willing to learn about being a Daddy for her. This is the story of how they come together, learning to trust each other.
Is was an OK age play story but I’m pretty sure I didn’t enjoy it much because I rarely read M/F books anymore. For some reason I had an urge to read one and was reminded why I don’t read them much any more.
While the writing was decent, Lissy kept frustrating me because she seemed to talk to everyone but her ‘Daddy’. Although she was a Little, she whined a bit too much for me.
***** POV... third person
Standalone or series... book 1 of series but CAN be read as standalone
Lissy has a secret- she loves toys and things that are targeted for little girls not a 29 year old women. Her last boyfriend scolded her and left her. She didn’t want that to happen with Dan.
Dan loved Lissy and wanted to understand all of her, so finding out about her dolls and other interests opened a box of exploration for himself and them together.
I picked this arc for curiousity. I enjoy seeing and understanding many different aspects to people’s personalities, kinks, sexuality and lifestyles. This was a book with a subject matter I had never read before. I didn’t read for personal interest more of trying to empathize with someone who has those interests and personality traits.
I learned a lot, and loved seeing the characters learn about themselves and develop. There were some great steamy scenes I could certainly get behind, some pieces I was slightly confused but could use empathy towards. Different strokes for different folks.
I would have loved to see more of her relationship with Dan, it ended abruptly for me. Would have loved to see how she handled her parents, marriage and when/if they had kids. What developments and concessions she’d make with her lifestyle. I’d also love to see her build more on her friendships. Glad they’ll be some more of this couple soon.
Overall it was an interesting read, clearly the author put time into showing the why behind Lissy’s feelings even if they don’t know where it came from. Well written too. Would have scored it higher if the material I could relate to more, and if the ending as well as their beginning were more developed.

It's definitely in the better end of the spectrum of age-play books. It's well-written, nicely edited, and the story itself is sensible.
I'd say thematically it stirrs a lot around in the soup that's called insecurity, depression, hopelessness, and so on. Lissy is very much a little girl in mind and behavior, but has a difficult time being secure and confident in who she is as a little, especially as she also finds herself getting older. So it's very much a story of character development, of moving from a place of unhappiness to that sweet, happily ever-after. And it errs a lot on the side of being a loving story, rather than being sex-driven - though there are some sex scenes here and there.
And there's seemingly more books coming, so I suppose it's intended as the first book in a series. It works fine as a standalone, and the supporting characters are interesting enough that there's merit for more books.
I don't think it's 5 stars, because it takes a few liberties in terms of fast-forwarding the story sometimes. And sometimes it feels a bit too much. It's very much cronologically told. But rather than going A->B->C->D it goes A->B->D->G because the time span it tries to cover is fairly long given the length of the book. But sometimes it feels as if you're missing some in-between, like how she establishes her new relationship with Dan.
But other than that, I thought it was an excellent book.
I absolutely love this sweet book. Totally love it. There's not a lot of sex in it, but there is a lot of love and passion, and in this book, that's more important.
Lissy knows she just doesn't adult right. She tries so hard to adult, but it feels like it's a mask she is putting on. When her boyfriend finds her dolls, she ends up kicking him out of the house and tries to live without it. Then she finds Dan. When Dan finds her dollies, he doesn't break up with her. Instead, he tries to figure out what she needs and how he can give it to her. When he talks to his friend Trent, they figure out that Lissy is a little. She has an inner little girl that needs to be cared for, loved, and cherished.
This book really is wonderful. It's all about Lissy's journey to figure out who she is and what she needs and Dan's journey to help the woman he loves figure out who she is and their journey together as a couple. There isn't any bad guy they have to fight, it's just these two trying to figure out who they are and how to meet their needs together. It's truly a beautiful love story.
Katie Douglas is an excellent Author. I've never read an ageplay romance book, so this was my first.
Lissy's Daddy is well written and cute. Lissy's character is both a responsible adult Monday through Friday, and on the weekends, she is a "little" girl. Dan is her boyfriend and accepting of her "little" side, even to the point of figuring out how to ageplay with her. Their relationship is unique to them, and so sweet.
I liked Katie's writing style and how she captured the essence of the characters and their quirks. I love the connection between Lissy and Dan.
We all have our ideas of how to relax and have fun. It's awesome when we find that someone who "gets" us and accepts us for who we are. This book has all of those qualities, and I liked that about it.
I have to admit that age-play is not my particular kink, but I picked up this book because I was intrigued and wanted to explore a bit. And it turns out that I am very happy that I did so.
The story was well written and the characters are rather endearing. This is an exploration and discover for both partners as they discover what they need individually and as a couple. There are bumps along the road, but that is true of almost any relationship. But it was the characters' ability to learn and adapt that made the story memorable.
While not a short story, it was still a fairly quick and easy read. Come for the romance and perhaps learn a bit about how the other folk live.
Recommended.

Lissy likes to ageplay as a littlegirl with her dolls and keeps this side of her life hidden. Unfortunately she has never found a boyfriend, who once they find out about the dolls and her age play, that stay around as they do not understand her need for this. Then she meets Dan, who is surprised at this but wants to understand and they reach out to others in this lifestyle. This book is not for everyone because it includes ageplay and mild discipline. If you enjoy this type of book, then this would be a good read even though it is short and it appears to be part of a series or a continuation.
Lissy loves playing with dolls, bath time with rubber ducks, sippy cups, and pacifiers. The thing is she's almost thirty. She has been ridiculed by boyfriends in the past, but Dan finds it adorable and wants to carry it further. They set up ageplay days where she will be the child and he will be her daddy taking care of his little girl. He gives her rules, love, presents when she's a good girl and punishments when she's bad. This isn't for everyone one but if you enjoy these aspects this is perfect for you.

Hot and sweet. A great beginning for a series. I can't wait for more of this, I want to say more about this story but I absolutely hate spoilers, so I won't go into details. I wish we could give half stars everywhere, I'd have given this a 4 1/2 stars. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Happily Ever After, Wonderful characters, Page-turner, Great world building, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Steamy. Bookshelves/tags: adult, ageplay, angst, contemporary, domestic-discipline, multiple-couples, romance, series, spanking, sweet. So this was the first time reading this authors work and I look forward to reading more. I thought this was a good book with a great storyline and some great characters to read about plus it's hooot and steamy to.Some women just want to role play being little girls againe with a daddy that takes care of them but they also want hooot and steamy s*x,I don't see anything wrong as long as its role playing between adults only.So I hope you all enjoy it to.

This is the first story I think I have read to this magnitude in age play. I actually picked this up just out of curiosity and found it was a sweet story but is definitely steamy with BDSM and power exchanges. I did like Lissy and Dan. In exploring the Dom/girl sides they find acceptance and what fulfills them in a relationship. I have never had the urge to play with dolls or daddy/little girl role playing as an adult but different strokes for different folks. Overall I thought the story was worth reading.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*
I found this book to be intriguing. The sadness and shame she had at the beginning quickly turned to happiness after she found acceptance. It was interesting to see the dynamics of their relationship at the beginning and read how he forged his path to make her feel totally fine with her desires. It was a different take on the dominance angle because he wasn't your typical Dom i.e. alpha male. The only thing I realized after reading is that I didn't feel involved in the story. I didn't feel any connection.
This is such a sweet, tender story. What do you do when society tells you that part of part of you that feels the most right- is wrong? How do you handle being repeatedly rejected for expressing the very core of who you are? Ms. Douglas writes a beautiful story of Lissy’s journey to truly express who she is. There is so much thoughtfulness, as well as romance. I loved Dan too. Five sweet and tender stars!
A lovely, well written, sweet story that I highly recommend. I just loved this sweet real and honest story. Poor Lissy. Life has not been easy. Then she meets wonderful Dan. All the characters are well written and described. There are plenty of hot spicy sexy scenes. The age-play scenes in the story are sweet and thoughtful. This book is very easy to read. I enjoyed reading this story and I highly recommend it.
Lissy’s Daddy is a beautifully written ageplay romance. Right from the beginning I fell in love with Lissy and Dan. Their relationship is so sweet and tender and yet Dan can be stern and discipline Lissy. I loved that Dan made such a great effort to get into the ageplay lifestyle and learn as much as he can, simply because he loved Lissy so much. And wow, he succeeded! I devoured this story and wasn't able to put it down until I had reached the wonderful end.
Lissy is a young girl trapped in a womans body. She loses one boyfriend because of that and she is very upset that she has to put on an adult face. I will admit this is not what I expected when I read the book, but it hooked me fairly quickly.
I have never heard of a story quite like this one, and it made me think.

Lissy is a 29 year old accountant who unwinds by playing with her dolls. This cost her a previous relationship, and she is reluctant to let her current boyfriend discover her secret. She is surprised to find that Dan isn't bothered, and in fact he is prepared to develop an ageplay relationship with her. What effect will this have on their relationship?
A sweet tale.

This story was a lot sweeter than I thought it would be especially with the title I expected something so different. How do you deal with the part of you that feels so good is made taboo or seen as wrong by society? What to do when you are rejected for expressing what makes you happy? Katie writes a really great story.

Her last relationship broke down due to her secret of playing with dolls. She fears her latest boyfriend will do the same when he finds out but he does not. He arranges play dates and she loves it all. Although she is worried she is getting too old for it all. What will they do now? Can they carry on as they are? See what will happen

This is the first book in the Coast Side Daddies series and worth the read. A well written romance story about a young woman who still likes dolls and needs a daddy/lover figure in her life and has to find a balance and understanding that different does not mean you are weird or mental. Or simply a book about self acceptance. Get your copy and enjoy!

Just goes to show you that age doesn’t matter. You can always be a little. This was just a nice sweet loving story. As to be expected by the author the story doesn’t disappoint!
This is a sweet tale of acceptance and learning about who you are. Lissy has always felt different from her peers. Her boyfriends do not understand her desire to play with dolls, so she keeps them and her little hidden. Dan knows there is something different about Lissy and wants to find out more. This story is their journey to learning who they are and how they fit into the world around them.
When you feel something that society does not accept, you become more and more unhappy, frustrated... Life is too short for not accepting yourself as you are. This is Lissy's journey to hapinness. Being a little and accepting yourself as one, it is complicated.

this is an age play romance that leaves no doubt as to who is in charge in this relationship. It focuses very heavily on the age play sensual lifestyle so if that is not your thing be warned. If it is your thing this is perfect for you.

Lissy has to learn how to open up to Douglas but she's been burned once and has some understandable fears. But Douglas does a great job of working together to find a way that works for both of them.
